Came here hungry after a long day. 4 stars from Yelp. Let's go! I thought he ordered the Began Bharta but got the eggplant and potatoes instead. It was alright. The Butter Chicken was delicious, so was the naan. A little hole in the wall. My husband had to get up to ask for raw onions. No one approached us if everything was ok. Who cares? Don't expect much. We walked out feeling full and satisfied. We'll keep this on our list when we're in town again.

Rice, paneer tikka masala

I came back and ordered the paneer tikka masala, rice, and garlic naan as takeout. Their paneer tikka masala is not that red compared to what I've seen at some places, but it was rich and tasty and had a generous amount of paneer. The garlic naan was pretty good as well, oily and garlicky.

(Ordered thru Door Dash and cross-posted) ...Nothing in this order tasted like it should have. No care AT ALL taken in how it was prepared. Aloo Cauli looked like the gravy entombment pictured. Garlic Naan burnt The chicken in Chicken Tikka Masala was bland and chewy Vegetable Samosa mostly just potatoes (also bland), and rice had no flavor (seemingly steamed out from over-cooking) ... it was like they created this order for Seniors on a restricted diet ... Horrible and equally so because my Hungry turned into Hangry ... NEVAH again!

Ordered a lot from here so some hits and some misses! Loved that this spot had papadums available and these ones had the fennel seeds! Happy with the Naan as well, ate that first! The other bread like dish I got was not the most impressive with the onions, was a bit bland. It was the same size of the naan but I almost wish it was smaller just because it was too bland to eat so much of it. The goat dish I got was tender and tasty! The real wild card was a pickled veggie dish because I love picked veggies but never got it from a spot like this before. Turns out it wasn't a good choice because the spices and sourness didn't click with me which is unusual for me. But like I said above, ordered a lot so bound to have some misses here. Now I know 2 dishes I won't order and 2 that I will.

Excellent Indian/Nepalese cuisine! I had a craving for Indian food and came back to Himalayan Curry House as I have found they have the best Indian food in Oakland, if not the entire East Bay. I have tried several Indian establishments and this place always excels with hitting the mark with delicious food. I ordered, and had delivered, the following; Spinach Samosa Vegetable Pakora Chicken Tiki Masala (Medium) Lamb Curry (spicy) Tandoori Chicken (Medium) Dal Tadka (Spicy) Garlic Naan Kashmiri Naan Mango Lassi I can honestly say that everything was exceptional. Not one item fell short. The Samosa is huge and very fresh and tasty with just the right amount of crust. The Pakora (looks like a fritter) were delicious and not oily or greasy. Unfortunately the tamarind sauce for the Samosa and mint sauce for the Pakora were left out, but both were still tasty enough. Both the Tiki Masala and the Lamb Curry had incredibly tasty sauce with just the right blend of herbs and spices. The meats were cooked perfectly. One piece of lamb was a bit chewy, but not bothersome enough to take away from the overall dish and flavor. I am not a big fan of Dal but this one was absolutely wonderful. Not runny, but smooth with the right amount of tastiness to it. It all came with basmati rice with each main dish. with an option for brown rice if you prefer. The Tandoori Chicken was prepared and cooked to perfection, and the chicken was very tender. It came with green pepper slices, cabbage and lemon wedge. Delicious!! The Naan was just right and the Kashmiri rather unique. I never had that one before and it is savory/sweet with glazed cherries and coconut w/cashews. YUM. Not sure I would get it every time, but a treat to try. The Lassi was good, lots of yogurt, and a bit thicker than usual, yet still excellent. The mango flavor was perfect. The level of spiciness was not that pronounced or extreme. For me I found the 'medium' and 'spicy' levels to be moderate. If you really like very spicy food I suggest to opt for the 'extra spicy' level. I highly endorse this restaurant and can safely say that nearly everything from the extensive menu would be a stand out Ingredients are fresh and they really know how to prepare Indian food to perfection. Try it!

The paneer butter masala was finger-licking delicious, and the naans were fresh and soft--they didn't even get chewy when cold. The chaats are a delight, especially the onion kachori chaat. The absolute highlight, however, was the dessert that shares the restaurant's name: Jalebi. Fried in ghee with real saffron and made fresh to order, it is the most delicious jalebi I've tasted in the whole of the USA. The hosts are a lovely couple running a family-owned business, and they truly have a calling for hospitality. When we visited right around closing time, they were still running around for hungry customers. Even when they had to turn a group away at the door, the wife immediately offered to pack food to go, bringing smiles to everyone's faces. She always finds a way to serve her customers. We really enjoyed our meal and hope to return soon!

For food we got the following: -Dahi Sev Puri - this was my favorite dish, really fun to eat and great flavors. -Chole Bhature - this was also great! The puffy bread was sooo delicious and the chickpeas were perfectly seasoned and delicious. -Bhel Puri - this dish was unique and was a good size portion, but not as flavorful as the other two dishes. It felt like eating a savory rice crispy cereal, but not in a bad way :P -Garlic Naan - pretty decent but nothing special -Jalebi - I was really excited to try this dessert. I looooved the texture (crunchy outside, with a gooey inside) but the actual flavor was not my favorite. To me, it tasted very similar to chlorinated water, and it was hard to get past that.. There was a different jalebi with a dipping sauce, and I wonder if that would have been better. They were out of it when we went, but I would try it again with that. Overall a really great restaurant, and definitely a place to try out if you're wanting a more unique Indian dining experience!

For the entrees, we got a potlam goat biryani - a delicious biryani wrapped in a banana leaf served table side. We also got the Fish Pollichathu, a fish grilled with a tomato based topping that was wrapped in a banana leaf and served with a tapioca mash and rice. All the dishes were delicious. The portions are generous and we ended up with leftovers to take back home. We also received a complimentary gulab jamun creme brulee since I was part of their mailing list and a pistachio tiramisu to celebrate our special occasion.
