Came here hungry after a long day. 4 stars from Yelp. Let's go! I thought he ordered the Began Bharta but got the eggplant and potatoes instead. It was alright. The Butter Chicken was delicious, so was the naan. A little hole in the wall. My husband had to get up to ask for raw onions. No one approached us if everything was ok. Who cares? Don't expect much. We walked out feeling full and satisfied. We'll keep this on our list when we're in town again.

I came back and ordered the paneer tikka masala, rice, and garlic naan as takeout. Their paneer tikka masala is not that red compared to what I've seen at some places, but it was rich and tasty and had a generous amount of paneer. The garlic naan was pretty good as well, oily and garlicky.

(Ordered thru Door Dash and cross-posted) ...Nothing in this order tasted like it should have. No care AT ALL taken in how it was prepared. Aloo Cauli looked like the gravy entombment pictured. Garlic Naan burnt The chicken in Chicken Tikka Masala was bland and chewy Vegetable Samosa mostly just potatoes (also bland), and rice had no flavor (seemingly steamed out from over-cooking) ... it was like they created this order for Seniors on a restricted diet ... Horrible and equally so because my Hungry turned into Hangry ... NEVAH again!

Ordered a lot from here so some hits and some misses! Loved that this spot had papadums available and these ones had the fennel seeds! Happy with the Naan as well, ate that first! The other bread like dish I got was not the most impressive with the onions, was a bit bland. It was the same size of the naan but I almost wish it was smaller just because it was too bland to eat so much of it. The goat dish I got was tender and tasty! The real wild card was a pickled veggie dish because I love picked veggies but never got it from a spot like this before. Turns out it wasn't a good choice because the spices and sourness didn't click with me which is unusual for me. But like I said above, ordered a lot so bound to have some misses here. Now I know 2 dishes I won't order and 2 that I will.

Excellent Indian/Nepalese cuisine! I had a craving for Indian food and came back to Himalayan Curry House as I have found they have the best Indian food in Oakland, if not the entire East Bay. I have tried several Indian establishments and this place always excels with hitting the mark with delicious food. I ordered, and had delivered, the following; Spinach Samosa Vegetable Pakora Chicken Tiki Masala (Medium) Lamb Curry (spicy) Tandoori Chicken (Medium) Dal Tadka (Spicy) Garlic Naan Kashmiri Naan Mango Lassi I can honestly say that everything was exceptional. Not one item fell short. The Samosa is huge and very fresh and tasty with just the right amount of crust. The Pakora (looks like a fritter) were delicious and not oily or greasy. Unfortunately the tamarind sauce for the Samosa and mint sauce for the Pakora were left out, but both were still tasty enough. Both the Tiki Masala and the Lamb Curry had incredibly tasty sauce with just the right blend of herbs and spices. The meats were cooked perfectly. One piece of lamb was a bit chewy, but not bothersome enough to take away from the overall dish and flavor. I am not a big fan of Dal but this one was absolutely wonderful. Not runny, but smooth with the right amount of tastiness to it. It all came with basmati rice with each main dish. with an option for brown rice if you prefer. The Tandoori Chicken was prepared and cooked to perfection, and the chicken was very tender. It came with green pepper slices, cabbage and lemon wedge. Delicious!! The Naan was just right and the Kashmiri rather unique. I never had that one before and it is savory/sweet with glazed cherries and coconut w/cashews. YUM. Not sure I would get it every time, but a treat to try. The Lassi was good, lots of yogurt, and a bit thicker than usual, yet still excellent. The mango flavor was perfect. The level of spiciness was not that pronounced or extreme. For me I found the 'medium' and 'spicy' levels to be moderate. If you really like very spicy food I suggest to opt for the 'extra spicy' level. I highly endorse this restaurant and can safely say that nearly everything from the extensive menu would be a stand out Ingredients are fresh and they really know how to prepare Indian food to perfection. Try it!

There was a bottle of water on each table. The food came out in three pretty silver bowls. The nice metal bowls added to the experience. The chicken tikka masala was the exact right amount of spice. Not too hot, not too mild. I could taste the butter and the chicken was perfectly cooked and moist. The rice was rice. It was exactly what I expected and cooked fine. The cheese garlic naan tho... good lord I could eat 100 orders of it. Insanely good. So much butter, cheese, garlic, and hot out of the oven (or wherever). I would absolutely order it again. I spent about $30 on everything (16 for entree, 3 for rice, like 5 for naan, then tip). For $30, I was stuffed and it felt like a great value. Ambiance was nice. I already mentioned the bowls, but the music was just Indian bangers. I didn't know any of the songs, but two of them in particular were so good that I wish I had asked what they were. Like electronic Indian party music. So good. Will definitely go again when I have time to kill in the area again.

For food we got the following: -Dahi Sev Puri - this was my favorite dish, really fun to eat and great flavors. -Chole Bhature - this was also great! The puffy bread was sooo delicious and the chickpeas were perfectly seasoned and delicious. -Bhel Puri - this dish was unique and was a good size portion, but not as flavorful as the other two dishes. It felt like eating a savory rice crispy cereal, but not in a bad way :P -Garlic Naan - pretty decent but nothing special -Jalebi - I was really excited to try this dessert. I looooved the texture (crunchy outside, with a gooey inside) but the actual flavor was not my favorite. To me, it tasted very similar to chlorinated water, and it was hard to get past that.. There was a different jalebi with a dipping sauce, and I wonder if that would have been better. They were out of it when we went, but I would try it again with that. Overall a really great restaurant, and definitely a place to try out if you're wanting a more unique Indian dining experience!

There was a great variety, and it was a nice way to experience the flavors and spirit of Onam. Service was quick , and despite not having a reservation, they were able to accommodate us. The ambiance is very pleasant too. That said, we enjoyed our meal but my folks found most of the dishes to be spicy which may not suit everyone--especially young kids. We asked for yogurt which the restaurant provided without hesitation. My toddler found almost everything too spicy, but happily enjoyed the sweets, banana chips, payasam, which was definitely a highlight! At around $60 per person, it is on the pricier side for a vegetarian meal, but for a special treat and to celebrate Onam, it may be worth experiencing. Overall, a festive and generous spread, though we would have preferred a little more balance in the spice level.

We arrived around opening (4:00 PM) today, August 29, 2026. Our server failed to mention that the crab samosa was unavailable until after we ordered it. The person who poured and delivered our drinks wrongly gave each of us the other person's drink. My wife was then mortified to discover two unmistakable drops of blood on her glass, and after reporting it to the waitstaff, she was gaslit by being told that they were instead wine. We ordered four dishes total. They delivered three of them correctly and a fourth dish that we hadn't ordered. We immediately informed our server of the issue, but they repeated the name of the dish and left. We called them over again to clarify if this was the dish that we had ordered, as it looked nothing like what the menu described. She said that she made a mistake because both dishes started with the same word. We then told her that we didn't want the wrong item nor did we want to wait for the missing item. Instead, the server left us with the wrong item and then delivered the missing item a few minutes later and charged us for it. In short, the food is good, but the staff at Noor are inattentive and irresponsible.

The service team was friendly, attentive, and did a fantastic job throughout our meal. During our visit, I repeatedly saw the manager calling employees by name from across the restaurant and summoning them over while they were busy. At the end of our meal, the general manager introduced himself and asked us to leave a positive review, specifically mentioning this location. While I understand the importance of customer feedback, the request felt awkward given what I had observed throughout the meal. A general manager should lead by example. Treating employees with respect and allowing them to focus on serving guests creates a better experience for everyone. I hope this improves because the rest of the team and the overall dining experience were genuinely excellent.

The space is elegant and tastefully decorated: great for date-nights and gatherings alike. The volume inside the restaurant is not too loud. The service was spectacular - Salman was incredibly funny, accommodating, and gave amazing recommendations for our first time here. We were just in time to experience one of the last days of the Alora x Pippal August collaboration, a fusion between coastal Mediterranean cuisine and regional Indian cuisine. We went with Salman's suggestion of the family-style izgara aile tarzi, a loaded plate of mixed grill of chicken shawarma, lamb adana kebab, shrimp pincho and beef shashlik. We also ordered butter chicken and masala fries, and mango lassi from their non-alcoholic drink menu. The shrimp pincho was undeniably the standout dish. The juicy shrimp meat complemented the vibrant flavor from the adobo marination process, and I loved it even though I never eat shrimp! The butter chicken was also quite tender and flavorful, which I really appreciated. I would definitely recommend it! Thank you to Salman and the Pippal Emeryville team for having us.
