Although the home fries are very delicious, I really wish the restaurant would stop using styrofoam containers for hot food. Not only is the styrofoam toxic when it's heated but it's disappointing when you open your takeout bag and are greeted with a giant hole at the bottom of the container with everything spewing out . I received a breakfasts meal carryout as a gift over years ago and I thought the food was ok but never made a purchase directly from the the restaurant. Since it's been almost impossible to get a decent meal from anywhere I finally made my why to this familiar place. The restaurant is extremely small and only has about 5 booths and 5 tables. Service was fast and the food was very delicious. We purchased a western omelette and kids meal ( pancakes with fresh strawberry). All the items including the hash browns were cooked well. I would definitely recommend this place and return to eat in or carry out.

Cinnamon Bun Pancakes. Omg. Just get them. Seriously.

We are trying a bunch of breakfast restaurants in SE Detroit and came across this place. It's small, but clean. Very friendly staff. The food was amazing! You get a lot for your money, the food has so much flavor and we WILL be making this a regular spot to enjoy breakfasts.

I generally avoid long lines, whether at stores or restaurants. That might explain why it took so long to get to Biscuits and Gravy, a brunch place I had on my radar for years. Everything looked good as I scrolled through the photos on Yelp (cinnamon swirl pancakes, red velvet pancakes, waffles, crab bennies) so I did not have a plan going in. But one thing was certain, I intended to have the biscuits and gravy. It is the name of the restaurant and I have loved this dish from the first time I had it. I was lucky that by the time I entered, the brunch crowd had moved on and a table had opened up. This is another good thing about taking care of my household chores before heading out for nourishment. In addition to the biscuits and gravy, I wanted something savory and healthy-ish so I went with the Greek skillet, which included eggs, gyro meat, spinach, diced tomatoes, onions, and feta. The skillet also had country-style potatoes, generally not my favorite but good here, and a biscuit. Usually, I also try to order something sweet as a side, like a pancake so there is a variety of flavors to try However, this wasn't on the menu so I went without. I added a side of pork gravy, which I don't often indulge in. The meal was tasty and incredibly filling and somewhat healthy, except for the carbs. I was only a third of the way in before reaching the full point so I have plenty of food for the next day. Incidentally, the server was fantastic. She was friendly, quick, and on the ball. This is a solid place for brunch but be aware that it is very small, so pack your patience.

This is one of mine favorite restaurants to come eat breakfast. I am never disappointed. My daughter and I tried the Belgium waffles out this time instead of our normal go-to breakfast. She got the bacon cheddar waffle and I got the cinnamon swirl one. It was so delicious. We also got their potatoes pancakes which are very good too! My family and I love this place so much. We come here frequently. If you haven't visited yet, shame on you!!! Lol The waitress was very nice and so pleasant to be around! If you come here on the weekends there is usually a wait. But it is totally worth the wait! The ambiance is very nicely decorated as well. There has not been anything I haven't loved yet! You can't go wrong here, the prices are great for how much food you get!

The grits in particular were excellent! My mom liked her potatoes but she did say she was a little jealous of the grits and took a few forkfuls from me. The benedict was also very good, served on a biscuit rather than the traditional english muffin, which I liked very much. Mine was a little light on the hollandaise so I would ask for a bit more of that next time. I also had an iced frozen latte which was quite good! Like many folks right now we're avoiding raw mixed greens so we both skipped those with our meals but even without it was still plenty of food. We also ordered beignets, a mix of powdered sugar and cinnamon sugar, with chocolate and foster's sauce (caramel) on the side. To me the beignets read more like a popover than a beignet but they were still good. Loved that they came warm and the foster's sauce was really nice! Our server was awesome and checked in on us regularly. Food came quickly, too. We did have to wait about 30 minutes for a table but it wasn't too bad and they'll take your number so you don't have to stay too close if you'd prefer to wait in your car (not much else to do around there, unless you're feeling like browsing Office Max next door). Overall a very solid dining experience and we both remarked we'd be eager to return again soon!

The ambience is absolutely lovely--spacious, clean, and very pleasant to sit in. The upstairs seating area is especially nice, with comfortable tables and chairs that make it a great spot to relax. They also offer a good selection of packed bakery items on display that look fresh and tempting, making it ideal for a quick grab-and-go visit. That said, the dine-in experience was let down by long wait times. I ordered a croissant and a falafel sandwich and ended up waiting significantly longer than expected, with little to no updates on my order. The ordering system--placing the order in one area and then waiting with a buzzer to collect before paying--felt somewhat inefficient, especially during off-peak hours on a weekday when the café wasn't particularly busy. In terms of food, the falafel sandwich was decent, while the croissant was just okay. Overall, the service felt slow and somewhat disorganized during this visit. I later stopped by just for grab-and-go items, and that experience was much smoother and quicker. Overall, the café has a beautiful ambience and fresh offerings, but there is definitely room for improvement in service speed and order management for dine-in items.
