Giving 2 stars, wish I could give more because working during Covid restrictions is not easy for anyone but if you are going to do it, commit fully or don't do it. Saturdays at 11AM are busy I get it but staff should be prepared and used to the weekend rush. Really disappointed with the manager here. Our daughter's class had a field trip scheduled. Corporate gave a haphazard letter saying the field trip was never scheduled with them. As if teachers would plan a field trip, get parent volunteers, plan the bus route and schedule all visits with local businesses EXCEPT this cafe (which was visited the day before with no issue). It's really not as much the lack of empathy for the kids standing outside in the rain asking why they can't go in. It's more the response from Biscuits since the day of the field trip. Complete lack of ownership over the situation. Putting all the blame on the kids/teachers and coming up with passive aggressive responses to any criticism. I am beyond disappointed in this location. My daughter's 2nd grade class had a community field trip in which their teacher planned visits to community businesses in the area so that they could learn more about their goods and services. . The children had been counting down the days with excitement. Today was the big day and our first stop was Biscuits Cafe. We walked in and instead of being greeted by the manager, she gave us a dirty look, rolled her eyes and told us (in front of the children) that they were just too busy, she just couldn't do this and walked away. This field trip had been planned far in advanced. We didn't just walk in from the street and ask to have a tour. The small group of 6 second graders were prepared. They had their clipboards with interview questions to learn more about the restaurant business. I feel like this situation could have been handled in a much better way. As we walked out one of the little girls in the group asked "Why don't they like us here?" And "How will we do our interview now?" That just broke my heart. I understand that the cafe is a business, but they agreed to setting time aside to accommodate the 6 student tour. Disregarding the students in such a disrespectful manner and the parents was beyond poor customer service. Due to this experience I will never eat at this location an will be sure to share our experience with everyone in the area. It is ironic that their website states "Our success comes from our commitment to excellence and how we treat our customers and employees." We didn't get to see that commitment in action. read more

One of my favorite brunch spots! Love that they opened this second location because it gets pretty packed at the Johnson Creek location. My boyfriend always gets their chicken fried chicken and I get their biscuits corned beef hash Their almond crusted french toast combo is bomb too, but their biscuits are the sole reason I keep coming back. We stopped at this biscuits on the way to the mall. We expected to have the same experience as the one that we frequent in Gresham, but that was not the case. The eggs on my Benedict were raw. It was our first time there. We just moved into the neighborhood and we pass this place everyday so we decided to take a friend to brunch one Sunday morning. The food was pretty good so I gave it 2 stars for those 2 words "pretty good". Other than that, I'm sorry to say that the service was horrible. Not once were we offered for a refill on our drinks. I had to actually get my own drink. Which is fine too. I don't mind that part at all, it's just the inconsistency of management. They are very understaffed and the place packs out quick in the morning so I get it. Their swamped and I'm sure it gets confusing for the waitresses. This Biscuits is so new I had to add them to the business list in order to review, they have a few things to work on. We parked in front of the front door and it appeared as though they might not be open, but the sign was on and we could see a waitress. We have frequented several of the Biscuits around the Portland metro area and I've never not been greeted when entering the door. We milled around the hostess area for a moment until I decided to enter into the dinning area, then the waitress approached and asked if we wanted a table or booth? I was thinking what could you be doing that you wouldn't meet your customers at the front door? Now to the food, I think they made the coffee when they got in that morning at 5:00 and when you pay $3.00 for a cup of coffee it should be fresh! The brisket Benedict I had was good but it had twice the hollandaise it should, the eggs were over cooked and the hash browns were cold. Steff had three items from the "keeping it simple" section that was $9.00 in the menu, but we were charged $10.00. Her sweet potato pancake wasn't mixed properly and had the taste of unmixed flour and the seasonings weren't distributed throughout the cake. Her words "It wasn't as yummy as I've had at the other Biscuits." Her poached eggs were overdone as well, so the chef needs to practice on the poached egg timing. We will return because they are new and should improve. This location should be a huge draw for Biscuits if they can manage the service and food quality. I look forward to my next visit. read more
