The Biscuits Cafe here on Mt. Scott off of Johnson Creek Blvd has consistently good customer service and delicious food.

Personally wasn't overly impressed with the Biscuits Cafe. Food was exceptable, but in my opinion not worth my return. Facility has little character, call it bland. read more

I thought I was going to love this place. I love breakfast, it is my favorite meal of the day. The food is pretty good. Nothing blew me away, but the sweet potato pancakes were pretty solid. Now the service, that is another thing. The place was not too busy, there were about 6 tables available inside. Our server seemed annoyed when we asked her to first bring the scrambled eggs for the twins. It is much better if they start eating first, so there is no drama for the rest of the patrons. At first she said "everything comes at the same time". We told her to try to do it. The eggs did arrive first. Then she left. After 5 minutes, we noticed several dishes ready by the kitchen. I asked my husband if he thought those were ours. Our server was outside, so we had to wait another 5 minutes to get our food, yes those dishes were ours. When my husband requested coffee with skim, she said they only had 2%, he said it was ok. She brought a whole glass and charged us for it. She did eventually take the charge off. We were never offered water and my husband never go a coffee refill. I still left a $5 tip on a $27 out of habit. Now I know I don't need to be back. There are so many wonderful places in Portland where I can get breakfast. read more

I just bate at this Biscuits Cafe location and I thought it was terrific. I had the chicken & waffles (sweet potato!) and they were amazing. The chicken was seasoned and done perfectly, and the sweet potato waffle was delicious. The coffee was quite strong. The best breakfast I have had in over a year. read more

We were on our way out of Portland on 205 (Sept 21st) and couldn't find anything open that wasn't fast food til we saw the Biscuit Cafe. Clean, friendly, great prices and food selection, quick service and large portions (my wife and I tend to split a meal during the daytime. Not one of the best dining experiences I've had. When we visited Biscuits, we were excited about the location, as it's hard to find good breakfast places out near Mt. Scott. From my experience, it's still hard to find a good breakfast place near Mt. Scott. The service was spotty on the day we visited. Our orders, while correct, came to the table lukewarm. The coffee was not great. Since this may have been an off-day, I will make it a point to go back and give them another chance. read more

This morning experience at Biscuits Cafe (which used to be my favorite breakfast spot) was very disappointing. It was a busy Sunday morning which was fine, we are used to the wait whenever we dare to go on a weekend, and surprisingly the line wasn't even out the door so it really wasn't that bad at all. Our trouble began because they are now seating outdoors as well. Outdoor seating is nice when it's warm out. At about 9am this morning; it was freezing! And really windy. As the host lead us outside (take note we were never asked if we were okay with or wanted to sit outside) I asked him if we could wait for indoor seating, I don't think he heard me (yeah I should have spoken up). Once seated I figured, it's okay i'll just grab the family some hoodies....hoodies did nothing to block the chill, we literally needed winter coats which I didn't happen to have in my car unfortunately. So after a few minutes of shivering; when the host came out with our ice water I asked him if we could wait and be seated inside, he hesitated a bit and seemed to be contemplating my question and how he could figure a way out of it, so I just told him not to worry about it, we would deal with the chill (my bad, I really need to stop feeling bad about inconveniencing people when I am paying a nice sum for their services). And so the wait began, I should have remembered the biggest downfall of this place in the past was the slow service (yeah I know it says on the door it's not a fast food cafe it's a fresh food cafe which takes longer, but I mean all around service not just the food). It took exactly 1 hour and 10 minutes, of sitting next to a busy street in the cold and wind, with a 2 year old and a 4 year old, surrounded by other families who were also complaining about the cold seating (was there a reason that every table next to us happen to have small kids with them, is this the new families with small children section?), we watched two groups of people who came in after us, and were lucky enough to get indoor seating, leave with full bellies while we shivered out in the cold waiting...and waiting....and waiting... The food finally arrived (1 hour and 10 minutes later) we literally scarfed it down in 10 minutes so we could hurry to our car and blast the heater. I am giving this review 2 stars instead of 1 because I still enjoyed the food..... okay enjoy may be an overstatement, what little I tasted was good, I wish I could have savored it a little bit. My husband on the other hand may never let me talk him into returning, his burger which he asked for no mayo on, was smothered in mayo (if your a mayo hater you can understand his distaste) but after an hour he didn't have the patience to wait for a new one, so he ate almost half of it and tried not to gag on whatever mayo he was unable to scrape off. And so after about 1 1/2 hours shivering, we left with frozen limbs, stomach aches from eating too fast, and $40 less in our pockets.... and I noticed the giant sign near the freeway where we were sitting said it was 59 degrees out at this time. :( Disappointed to say the very least, and definitely not doing that again! read more

This is a terrific restaurant. I always know I will have excellent service, quick, hot food and a friendly server. In the 12 years my family and I have been dining there we have never had a poor experience. Kudos to Bisquits! We ordered 4 breakfasts to go. Got home and only 2 breakfasts were in the bag. Called and the initial conversation took 15 minutes. They made excuses and they never apologized. They kept transferring to other people and put us on hold. We asked to be credited for the meals we didn't receive and they said they couldn't do it unless we were in the restaurant. Then, they said they were too busy to fix the issue right now and had to call us back later because they had customers. Pretty sure we were customers, who didn't get our food, and were charged for it. We drove all the way home and only 2/4 people in our family could eat. Their customer service made no sense and the way we were treated on the phone was unbelievable. Crediting back someone's purchase for items they didn't receive is not rocket science. Apologizing for the mistake and inconvenience is also good business practice. The girl on the phone sounded like we were an imposition and acted like we were lying. We won't be returning to this location because of this experience. read more

My husband and I have been to Buiscuits three times so far, and have loved every time. They have the best sausages, pancakes, the jam is amazing, the corned beef is legit corned beef, and the cinnamon bun French toast is to die for. I do not like that they do not have fresh half and half for their coffee, they use the flavored creamer cups. But the size of their coffee mugs are huge and they are always re-filling our mugs. Great food, great service, and huge portions- you WILL be taking food home with you; that, or share a plate. And the prices are very decent. This is our favorite breakfast place in five states- yes, we've lived in many states and ate at many breakfast places. So far, this place is the most consistent and delicious. I liked someones suggestion of getting a better local coffee (and half and half please) like stumptowns, but I'm not complaining. Buiscuits is worth a visit!! read more

I've been going to Biscuits at multiple locations for years. You receive friendly service and the food comes out really quick. Today I went to the Johnson Creek restaurant and everything was up to expectations EXCEPT the horrible red head host. She was so rude and unprofessional, didn't smile or thank us. She literally threw the pens and checks at us as we were checking out. Our tips easily dropped 75% due to her terrible service. Wouldn't waste my time coming back if I saw she was still employed. I work in customer service and I'm shocked someone would choose to have that be the first and last thing all your customers have to experience. read more

The food is outstanding. I have yet to be disappointed by the food. Both the quality and the size of the portions are outstanding. However, parking can be a nightmare, and there is always a line to be seated. It usually goes quickly but it is still a bit of a buzz kill. Also, the tables are close together so it can get very noisy very fast. If you are looking for an intimate setting, this isn't your place. But if you don't mind a little noise and proximity to fellow customers, the food is well worth the trouble and the price. Definitely looking forward to going back again. I only wish they didn't close so early in the day. read more

Terrible, terrible customer service! My family and I decided to try out this restaurant after finding it online and discovering it is less than a 5 minute drive from our home. We will never ever ever go back. We entered the restaurant and gave our name. It was a beautiful day and we were pleased to see many tables available including 3 tables outside. Well, we sat and waited and waited and waited. We waited for 20 minutes, giving us plenty of time to count the number of empty tables that were available. Eight tables, yup eight. Then two groups of people who came in after were seated before us. We asked the hostess why, very frustrated now that not one but two groups of people had been seated. Her response was, "We have to seat them first." Huh? Proper response "would be sorry about that, we will seat you right away" or similar. Nope, not at biscuits cafe. After 20 minutes of sitting in a restaurant with many empty tables that was NOT understaffed we ended up leaving without any breakfast. We go out to eat probably four times a week and would likely have returned again and again but now we will never ever go there again and would deter anyone else from going as well. read more

Took almost 10 minutes to get someone to offer me coffee or take my order. They are busy and maybe need more help. Food is ok. Kielbasa very tasty. Red Potatoes are ok. I asked for them to be crispy but they were not. Pancakes ok. Eggs horrible. I asked for soft eggs what I got was hard eggs. I said this when I got the plate. Waitress came back with same hard eggs. She said "well they had some slime on them. Do you want them to be runny?" Wow. She did take the coffee off the bill since I didn't eat the eggs. I would not return here. read more

First time here. Walked in and noticed many tables were dirty ... plates and stuff... so I thought maybe they just had a rush of people leave. I was sat in between two dirty tables. Then after I ordered and used restroom I was disappointed the tables were all still dirty and not even half way bussed! So...I counted how many dirty tables there were: 8. How many tables had people eating at them? 6. Front of house staff? I counted 8. I saw servers go to tables to take an order or something and walk by dirty tables without putting any effort into helping clear them. Staff just talking among each other while restaurant looks a mess. My food came and I reluctantly ate it as I was surrounded by the scenery of dirty plates on almost all empty tables. No manager present. Food was horrible. Frozen burger patty and frozen fries. Never going back. Lazy staff. Waitress was just an order taker. Lazy and incompetent management I assume. read more

I love the experience I get every time I go to Biscuits. The portions are huge - I recently just tried the taco omelette and it was phenomenal. Whatever the cooks are getting paid, it's not enough. The servers and hosts are always smiling, and they never stop moving. They're also in a nice location off of Johnson Creek. It's definitely a place I try to come to every few weekends. The food at biscuits isn't fancy, but it's a great spot to get a solid, American style breakfast. They're quite busy & popular, but we rarely wait long for a table. Service is efficient and friendly. If you don't want to wait for over an hour with a bunch of latte-sipping Portlandia residents so you can enjoy your free-range, organic omelette with a side of gluten-free pancakes at an over-rated cafe in a hipper part of town , this is a great option. Management is horrible. I worked here and just about every employee is so rude, on a daily basis! Rude to employees and customers! Seen it first hand and over half the staff there can agree! Bullied by another employee I dreaded going to work there. It was a daily dread knowing I had to go to work. I would have discussed it with our waitress but she never appeared again after dropping the food and bill at the same time. When the cashier asked how the meal was I said "Actually, not very good."
