I stopped by for Burger Week and ordered The Rope, which was surprisingly delicious--especially for a bar. It didn't come with fries, but their Friday half-off appetizers more than made up for it. The portions were generous enough that an app could easily serve as a full meal, and the prices were very reasonable. The crowd leaned toward an older, laid-back clientele, which made for a relaxed atmosphere. I really wanted to give this place five stars, but I couldn't overlook the unpleasant smell drifting over from what looked like a rotting food flatbed trailer nearby. Thankfully, the patio allows cigar smoking, which helped mask the stench and made the outdoor seating more enjoyable. I will be back! read more

Stopped in for lunch today. I had barbecue wings, JoJos and gizzards. The flavor was good on everything, but the wings were over sauced and the gizzards were all breading. I was very excited for the gizzards cause you don't find them a lot anymore. My first couple were fantastic and then they started getting kind of gummy because there was so much breading. I actually peeled a couple of them and had a large pile of breading and little bitty gizzards inside. Service was poor. It took forever for somebody to take my order. I received zero drink refills because they never came back. The servers were extremely nice. It's just they never came back to my table. I may or may not go back. We only go on Sunday morning because the server Desi is FABULOUS and only works Sundays!!!! You can get breakfast from 9 to 11:30. I got scrambled eggs with ham and pancakes instead of hash browns and toast. More food than I can eat... so great leftovers. Boyfriend gets halibut fish and chips. So rude! I am from out of town first time trying this place food was great but customer service was horrible the lady with the blonde hair that works behind the bar was unprofessional. I had ordered two margaritas they weren't for my liking. I didn't drink the margarita as soon as it got handed to me I tasted it and wasn't my liking at all tasted horrible. I had asked nicely if I could get it remade and she told me I have to pay for another drink even if I didn't like it it. I serve at a restaurant and had never said no to a customer if they didn't like their drink, she was extremely rude and unprofessional. We won't be visiting that place again. read more

This place is larger than it appears from the street. Plenty of off street parking, nice outside deck and friendly staff. The burgers are hand pressed and delicious. Prices for food and beverages are a little better than most places. Not too busy when I arrived, but the after work crowd was heading in as I was leaving and it appears to be a lively bunch. Went here for lunch while our car was being serviced at point s. Bartender was fast with the drinks and your drink was never empty for more then 60 seconds literally. (And I was seated at a table not the bar. Tipped extra for this) We ordered lunch and the wait wasn't bad. My husband has the fish sandwich and I had the nachos. We been here a few times now, and I am sure we will somehow end up back for lunch or dinner. Kind of like a 'hole in the wall' bar, but the bartenders are great and sweet, and the food is pretty good. This weekend was my first visit to the Lariat Lounge, a neighborhood bar on Division. It was full of regulars, and the owner could see I was new and gave me a tour of the place, including a bomb new patio outside with large fancy firepits! The service was excellent, and the steak bite dinner I ordered was very good for the price ($16). Also, don't forget to try the garlic green beans!! They will keep the vampires away! I went there three times and won't be back reason for that one time one person working and no service, next time it was like I was interfering with their conversation. If you want a weekend breakfast done well surrounded by friendly people this is your place. The staff are friendly, professional and on it. Glad I stopped in. If I could give 0 stars I would. my boyfriend and I went there to play pool. we aged 3 games and had a few drinks each. when we were done, I went, after asking the bartender and the cook, to get popcorn. as I'm leaving, the owner comes and tells me that the popcorn isn't for me,it's for his customers. Good food. Okay service. Medium to high prices. My wife and I used to order takeout food from this place at least once every week or two until about a month ago. (March, 2017.) They recently decided to add a 20% "gratuity" to every food order. When I asked them why, they said, "People weren't tipping...and our cooks deserve to get paid." Well, duh, but if you feel your employees aren't getting paid enough, raise their wages (and, presumably also your prices to compensate); don't tack on a forced "gratuity" charge! Needless to say, they lost all of our respect along with our business. We haven't been back since that day, and no matter what changes they may make to their policies, we will never buy anything from them again. If you don't care what you pay or why, visit the Lariat. They recently lost a couple of bartenders whom were a true asset to the Lariat. The current owner...well I've yet to hear or see any positive attributes about him or work behind the bar. We come here regularly for Taco Thursday. I would normally give this place 5 stars but tonight was a bust. 45 min is a long time to wait for two tacos. The tacos were disappointing. 1/2 inch of meat and a sprinkling of lettuce and tomatoes. 2 inches of the taco were empty. Everybody at our table that had tacos had grease running down their hands. The potato soup however was excellent. I hope this was just a one time experience. I will say the wait staff is friendly. The drinks are good. I came in around 6:15 and ordered chicken and JoJo's and fish and chips, it took about 20 mins as they were fairly busy, food was hot which was great giving the wait. When I returned home I opened my box of fish and chips and there was only 3 fish balls and maybe 20 fries. For $8.50 I feel this is unacceptable, the bar tender proceeded to tell me have I checked the price of fish at other places. I said I have and I should get more than 3 fish ball and 20 fries and asked for my money back. She returned my money and I said she was lucky it was me and not my boyfriend because she would calling the cops, she said over some food? I said yes, how do you think it is acceptable to sell this amount of food for that price. She gave me my money and told me not to come back. I have been coming in for years, my work hours have fluctuated stopped in today ordered a chili burger with extra chili, patty and halapenos and a full order of Jo Jos with extra ranch. I received no halapenos and absolutely no ranch. or extra ranch. When I called to tell our hostess, she said you left it on the counter "No Way" the only items on the counter in front of me was my food order. Now I could understand if there were 100 people in there but not the case I was the "Only" food order active. when I called back again to say there was another part of my food order missing she was copping a major "Tude" says "well what do you want me to do about it" !!.
