We didn't get her name but saw on the receipt her name might have been Davi, she was such a bundle of light and life, so attentive and kind! She immediately gave us wonderful recommendations which we all adored. The table ordered praline bacon to share (do yourself a favor and get this), one ordered the praline bacon waffle, another ordered the bananas foster waffle, and I got the seasonal vegetable hash. We were all in HEAVEN with what we ordered. From the first bite to the last it we were all absolutely stunned by how delicious and well made everything was. I savored every bite as did my compatriots. One gal ordered a couple things to go for her family (huevos rancheros for the hubby and cinnamon rolls for her kiddos) and our waitress Davi recommended they bring out the cinnamon rolls unfired so that she could pop them in the oven when she got home after a short drive. It was such good attention to detail that felt like such a friendly offer. Absolute superstars, the lot of you. Next time I'm back in Portland I'm absolutely spoiling some friends here with what I can only describe as a transcendent experience.

I know they get busy on weekends but we had no problem making a reservation and being seated promptly indoors. Their indoor space can get quite loud. They do have a covered side patio as well. We ordered some of their classic dishes: chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, banana foster French toast. Everything was absolutely delicious. I did feel some sticker shock at the prices ($17-24 ish) but the portions are quite large. They do have a kids menu as well as a full bar. Customer service was excellent, with a seemingly genuinely friendly server. Though they were busy, it was easy to get assistance as needed. The decor is wonderfully charming. Overall, Screen Door might not be an every-weekend kind of thing, but for an out-of-town visitor, a special occasion, or craving you just can't shake - it's absolutely worth the stop.

Well I would like to say that I know for a fact that Jenni did not do what this Maureen P is saying she had a major surgery and she wanted to work for Jenny I will not go into detail I do know Maureen walked out on Jenny tired to ruin the shop Jenni is one of the most honest women and has a great business she is all about community and trying keep her shop open while still recuperating from her surgery if your in the neighborhood want to talk story and have a great cuppa coffee and some pastry or maybe even breakfast she's open Monday through Saturday nothings going to keep her down not even a bad review especially one that bad review is a lie read more

Actually, my review is minus 1. I worked at Jenni's and yes I do have a food handlers card. Which the rest of people that work there don't have. We dumped about 8k into that shop. Thinking that we were going to be partners. Instead she ripped us off and now I'm ending up at the food bank, because she can't run a business. Jenni doesn't pay people that work for her. One employee hasn't been in since April. Now to add insult to injury. She continues to post pictures of MY baked good saying that she made them. Most of the pictures on her site, I baked them not her. Please don't do not go to her shop. Do no support a liar and a cheat. read more

I finally stopped by to check this place out and I'm so happy I did! Jenni's Sacred Grounds is cozy and welcoming. I ordered a coffee and breakfast for lunch (always a bonus to find places that serve breakfast after noon). Still sipping on my delicious pumpkin pie latte as I write this. The food was great - like home cooking and reasonably priced. The patio looked like a good place to grab a cup of coffee for a chat with friends. And most important to me, the service was awesome. Next time I'll try some of their baked goods with a cup of coffee. read more

The owner is very nice. Today I Got a to-go order of biskets an gravy with a side of bacon. An 2 coffees. She was nice an made my coffee while I waited on the food to cook, then made the other coffee before I left. Been there like 4-5 times now and the service is always wonderful, I will definitely be going back a few times a week, if not more. read more

Dishonesty is all you get at Jenni's Sacred Grounds. The owner hires people and doesn't pay them, it's a dirty hole in the wall, with rats running around on the back patio. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, who wants to do business with a dishonest using thief? read more
