I stopped by here for breakfast around 10a yesterday. Ordered their build your own so selected eggs poached medium, very crisp bacon & pancakes. The order arrived a short time later - the pancakes were cold & the butter never melted, the eggs were poached well meaning more like hard boiled plus the bacon was not crisp. Asked waiter to provide hot pancakes which he did quickly. This is the second time within 2 weeks I have tried this location. Both times were barely passable. My prior visit I ordered their reuben sandwich. I waited 30 minutes to receive the order. The meat was tough & barely chewable. Not the easy to chew, quality I had expected from a prior visit. Additionally, as I walked out of the restaurant I observed at several table locations that were set for the next customer bits of scrambled eggs under either the chairs or table. Plus one of the tables had standing water under it that no one had mopped up during the 35 minutes I was dining there. read more

Busy on the weekends and parking can be a bit challenging. Large menu with standard American fare, but well prepared. Bacon is crispy. Several vegetarian options. I liked the avocado benedict. French toast combo was good. Location is in a shopping mall on the back edge ( uphill side) Staff are busy but helpful. Noise level can be high. read more

Today my family and I went to get a breakfast for my 45th birthday. Understanding they were busy, it was very disappointing that we waited about 40 minutes at the table, until we decided to get up and leave. The waitresses did not approach us once to provide updates regarding the wait time, or to inform us that our order was forgotten. We could hear conversations between the waitress and the kitchen staff and it was very clear that they forgot about our order. People that came afters us (about 3 famililes), got their orders before us. Things can get out of hand, but communication is important! We decided to get up and leave after a long wait time, and no approach from the staff. It was disappointing to go through this today. read more

Normally I like Biscuits but this time I ordered take out and was so disappointed. I ordered the chicken strips and instead of fries ask for a salad which they charged me $3 extra for. Normally they don't as it's just a substitute for the fries and they didn't inform me they charging me extra either. My salad was some plain lettuce, a pickle and a slice of tomato. It looked like scraps. When I called to talk to them about it I got an attitude from a gal named Ilene. Things have gone down hill at this location. Probably won't be going back. read more

Biscuits Cafe is a local chain that is only open for breakfast and lunch. I've been to two locations, and this is the worst of the two. The menu is large, the food and service are competent, and the lines are LONG. I love corned beef hash, and Biscuits Cafe's is reasonable. Lots of good, lean, tender corned beef and a big portion size. This is one of the better items on their menu. Their lunch menu didn't seem to fare as well. Again, the portion sizes are big, but the flavors didn't seem to be there (the chicken strips are flat, completely uniform in shape, and clearly come in processed and frozen, not done from scratch in-house). The real shocker is how stupidly expensive beverages are. $4.00 for a SMALL cranberry juice? $3.00 for black coffee? Entrees are pricey, too ($13 for the corned beef hash). This is about the only breakfast place in the vicinity, so you have little choice if you want a traditional American breakfast. Noteworthy is the fact that you can now get the Impossible Burger here. The Impossible burger is the ONLY non-animal-based burger that COMPLETELY honestly tastes like meat...REALLY GOOD MEAT!!!! Doesn't taste exactly like beef, but if somebody had told me I was eating ground yak, I'd come away believing that "yak is the most delicious ground meat I've ever had". Get one sometime, but don't go out of your way to come here to get one (they're available at better establishments, too). read more

I usually try and stay away from chain restaurants but this place is definitely an exception. I ordered the hash cause they said it was homemade and I didn't believe them so glad I did. This was a different take it was more like a pulled corn beef rather then a chopped up or ground up like I was expecting. Had the onions and potatoes like most hash does and good flavor. I got the regular hash browns and they were nice and crunchy like I wanted. What sold me on this place after all was said and done was how the host went out and bought a paper for a patron. I have seen too many times where they just say no we don't have the paper. It was great to see and I will be trying a different location. read more

It's my first time visiting Oregon here. This place caught my eyes as I was walking with a different restaurant in mind. Mind you, I'm not a biscuit guy, but a cafe is always a good place to relax and enjoy the environment. When I entered the entrance, already the room was lively and the service was swift. Spacious room filled with cool, morning light. I read the menu and saw Smoked Brisket Benedict. I had eaten many sorts of Benedict but never was it done with smoke brisket. When a waiter asked for my choice of drink and food, I made my order with red potatoes and a cup of coffee. Waiter complimented my choice and left, exposing the view of rolling, green hills. Considering my first time here, it's breathtaking. A wonderful way to start the morning. Once the meal arrived, the arrangement looked lovely. As soon as I took a bite, I knew instantly that it was one of the best. The tenderness and smokiness of the brisket completed the balance and the gamut of flavors. The goodness of flavors left me no room for any thought except of the taste. Red potatoes, on the other hand, could be improved. The cook of it felt inconsistent. Sometimes, it's too salty. Sometimes, the texture was not fully cooked. Other time, it's just bland. Regardless, it's good enough for me to appreciate the meal (or perhaps, I'm biased because I have a weakness for red potatoes), and then, wash it all down with a gulp of coffee, which just as wonderful as the view outside. No bitterness or flatness. The kind which would sit with you by a fire as you were reading your favorite story. With this experience, I could tell how nurturing the Oregon can be to the souls of the first timers like me. read more

The eggs over easy were all broken wide open. The toast was soggy. Today, I decided perhaps that was a fluke and to give it another try. After watching THREE delivery drivers on the app make it to the restaurant and then disappear, I called the restaurant myself. I'm tired of of going in here to be told they still don't have gluten free bread, it has been months. There supplier doesn't have it is what they always say, however other biscuits seem to be able to have gluten free bread. They have switched to new French fries that now are not gluten free. My server was great. Wish I got his name as he seems to be the only quality worker in this place. Tall guy, dark hair. Good personality, checked on me, refilled my coffee without me having to flag him down. He was great. He went on lunch soon after putting in my order. Before he left he made sure to refill my coffee and bring out my food and let me know he spoke with a coworker to look after me in his absence. No problem there whatsoever however his coworkers obviously did not give a damn about checking in on me. Not a single one came by to refill my coffee, check in on the food, etc. At least 20mins and I sat there thinking surely someone would come by soon. Nope. I had to flag down a server at another table to ask for a takeout container and my check. He never came back. I was sitting there so long my original server came back from his lunch and was shocked to see me still there. I just wanted to leave. I felt humiliated. I asked for my check and left. Never got my leftover food either so that's wasted money. I'll never step foot in this location again. And I hope my server moves on to someplace better. This was an okay breakfast, nothing out of the ordinary, but it was nice and hot, it was tasty, and the service was solid. I love that they have built an acrylic or glass "wall" to keep the whole restaurant from being frozen when someone opens the door. FINALLY a restaurant that get it! My favorite SE spot by far! Food is local and fresh. Can't go wrong with the menu they have a variety for any appetite you might have! My mom and her crew of senior citizens used to go here regularly. They were a group of ten people and always were great tippers. But the last time they went, my mom told the cashier they left cash on the table as a tip. When she got the receipt, they were automatically charged 20%. So my mom went to retrieve the cash, and it was gone. When she asked for it back, they refused to give it back. Such a greedy move. Along with my potatoes and bread all tasted like salt! It would've saved me more time and money if I ordered from McDonalds! This is a pretty decent spot for breakfast. Their pancakes are truly amazing, pillowy and cushy type things, lightly scented like vanilla and with a soft sweetness, served with a heap of buttery spread and a half dozen blueberries. Their eggs Benedict is ho-hum, with a familiar, yellow sort of glop that resembles hollandaise but belongs in a cafeteria. Thick cut ham and crisp English muffins doused in that buttery spread abound. The claim to fame here, at least in this yelper's opinion, is their marvelous and fantastical red potatoes- bring on that sauce Tabasco because the two of these have met their match! Truly a crave-able side dish worth coming back for. Woe is me, on this visit the pop machine was down so I was left with watered down coffee not even Shari's would serve you. Even though this is a chain breakfast joint and inside a tiny tiny parking lot next to an Optometry office, the breakfast was off large portion, delicious, and fair priced. The service was fast and the staff was friendly. This isn't where you bring your out of town friends for amazing Portland brunch, but a place you go locally to fill up before a long day. Biscuits is definitely a step up from your big box waffle houses. There's a high amount of coffee turnover here so that means it's always fresh when it comes to you. The portions are generous and the food is always fresh. I recommend trying the eponymous biscuits here along with the jam. Excellent! As far as service, they were all quick to take and deliver my order. And I never had the chance to see the bottom of my coffee cup! I've come here a few times now for breakfast:) the food is great! I'm always seated fairly quick and greeted by our server promptly. I haven't had a problem with wait times even when it seems busy, our food usually comes out pretty quick too. My son loved the chicken & waffles and the hot coco & I absolutely loved the almond crusted French toast! It's now my fav! Also very decent prices, especially for the amount of food you're getting! We always leave with a to go box of what we couldn't finish lol.
