Ultimate Bacon Biscuit. A real fried egg, 2 pcs cheese and FOUR full strips of bacon.

Instagram and Yelp are great resources for finding yummy food. Today's browse found a reel by @sunshinefoodiee for Biscuitville. That led me to the Biscuitville page, then their website, their menu and before I knew it, I had signed up for their email notifications (scored a free biscuit coupon) and put a list in my phone for what I wanted to try. Hubs was on board so off we went to the Kernersville location. Brianna took our order and she was helpful and friendly. We ordered the Hashbrown Casserole, the Ultimate Bacon Biscuit, the Pork Chop Biscuit and the Cinnamon Roll. (It's National cinnamon roll day) Everything was delicious and freshly made. I actually forgot to use my free biscuit coupon. I guess that means I'll need to go back really soon! What a shame. LOL Be sure and follow @sunshinefoodiee especially if you are in the Charlotte area and of course Yelp!

Good gracious is this place good!! The biscuits rival grandma's, the cheese grits are on point, and the gravy is southern country goodness! If you've been on your best behavior try the honey bun with no guilt. B'ville is fast fresh delicious breakfast. In the morning peak hours, park by the shopping center and walk over for the least aggrevation.

Just went to this location and ordered a scrambled egg and cheese biscuit, order is correct on the ticket however I was given a biscuit with literally nothing on it except for bacon, which I did not ask for at all. Extremely frustrating.

One of my top 3 places to go for breakfast. The food is always amazing, the people are always really friendly, the drive thru always goes by quickly even when they are wrapped around the building and everytime I go through with my frenchie they give him a little doggie biscuit. They are even open until 2:00 PM so it's perfect for anyone who oversleeps on the weekends like me and my fiancé do. This is my favorite biscuitville location and one I recommend to anyone looking for a good breakfast. 5/5

Between excellent service, from the host to the kitchen staff, and being a bright, cheery place decorated in a modern farmhouse feel (only complaint is the HARD seating), we love this place. The food is always delicious and seasoned perfectly with FLAVOR. For the appetizer, the Salad Pizza is absolutely scrumptious and was recommended by our server our first visit here last year. Honestly, it keeps bringing us back. The flavors are incredible. It has feta, mozzarella, topped with organic greens, shaved onions, tossed in a lemon/dijon dressing with shaved parmesan. It's a flavor bomb in the mouth. The meatloaf, is to die for. If you're a meatloaf eater this is for you. It's so tender and juicy and perfectly seasoned. Melts in your mouth and the sauce on top is the perfect blend of sweet and savory to top it off. For my two sides this time I chose the fried brussels sprouts and the greens. The greens are always seasoned perfectly and the brussels sprouts were crispy and full of flavor. They tasted even better dipped in my meatloaf sauce so that was a win-win. My boyfriend had the special which was short ribs. For his two sides, he had greens and green beans. The short rib was perfectly tender and absolutely delicious full of flavor and moist for him. The green beans and the greens were also perfect as well full of flavor, just enough fat and butter. It's a great little date spot or a family dinner. They also have outdoor seating covered with umbrellas. There's a bar inside with a TV if you choose to go watch sports and the food here is always on point full of flavor and makes you want to come back and try more things on the menu. You can't go wrong at southern roots.

The chicken salad on a toasted croissant with a side of sweet potato fries was absolutely delicious! The bartender/waitress recommended it out of the 3 options I was torn between. My boyfriend got the BBQ chicken flatbread without onions and the only negative was that he said there was too much cheese. I will say, when they brought it out, it looked more like a pizza as opposed to a thin crusted flatbread. But he said it was good! Overall, nice, clean facility, attentive staff, great food. There were only a couple other tables dining at the time. I got a booth that was spacious and well-lit, which I liked. I got a veggie burger with mac & cheese. The veggie burger was about the same quality as the frozen Morningstar patties I buy at the store. Also the Mac and cheese was box mix quality. My dining companion's food had a significant issue related to the freshness. She may also leave her review, so I don't want to go into it in detail, but I was very pleasantly surprised and impressed as to how hard our server worked to try to make it right. Also, the manager comped that meal, even though we didn't ask for that which was great. I did like their drink specials and would perhaps stop by again for drinks and apps.

About the food. Probably the BEST FRIED CHICKEN in the area. I really can't judge on that because I haven't sampled other fried chicken in the vicinity but based on my own research of sampling fried chicken all over North Carolina, I feel confident in my assumption. It was fried just right. It was SEASONED. It had a very nice batter that was crunchy and the chicken in the inside was tender and juicy. Every bite was tender and juicy. These ladies should teach a cooking class on how to make fried chicken-to other restaurants. The SWEET POTATOES were perfectly cooked and flavored in butter and cinnamon. You could eat it as a dessert. But not overly sweet. Just right. The GREENS were tender and seasoned perfectly. Greens and fried side with their delicious CORNBREAD could be a meal in itself. It closed in early February for what were supposed to be renovations, only to reopen months later with a new name and a new concept, trading slightly upscale Southern for more upscale Italian. In some regards, this makes sense - it fills a void created by the closure of Lulu and Blu - but in other ways, it's a massive gamble. My wife and I went for our anniversary dinner, and while it was an overall pleasant experience, it also made us miss Magnolia. The higher price point is the chief culprit. Otto and Blue offers pastas in the $20s and entrees starting in the $30s, bread and olive oil not included. While we were celebrating an occasion that merited such a splurge, it's hard to imagine the restaurant remaining competitive at those prices once the sheen of newness wears off. Look past that, however, and Otto and Blue shines in both ambiance and service. It's classy without being stuffy, and the dark turquoise tones suit it well. Allison, a Magnolia Blue mainstay, was personable and attentive and provided excellent service throughout the meal. Otto and Blue's menu offers apps, salads, pastas, and entrees. It's predominantly Italian albeit with a few options for the steak-and-potatoes crowd. The dishes range from recognizably classic (rigatoni Bolognese) to conspicuously elevated (halibut piccatta). After mulling over several offerings, we went with the bread service, tagliatelle, and duck cacciatore. The food ranged from fairly good to outstanding. While $9 for bread is a tough pill to swallow, they executed it as well as they possibly could have: a hot, fresh ciabatta with tasty herb butter, olive relish, and a quality olive oil-balsamic combo as accompaniments. The cacciatore boasted a pair of duck legs confit, and while I'm usually no fan of dark meat poultry, these were prepared well with crispy skin and plenty of meat. For a typically hearty dish, the sauce seemed light (and a bit subdued), but that could be a consequence of serving atop polenta (more absorbent) rather than pasta. Speaking of pastas and sauces, the tagliatelle hit a nice balance of creamy and zesty without swimming in its white wine lemon sauce. Surprisingly, the highlight of the meal ended up being the dessert that Otto and Blue kindly offered as an anniversary gift. A scoop of vanilla bean gelato came adorned with a Biscoff cookie, a drizzle of olive oil, and a dash of salt. If salt and especially olive oil on ice cream seem vaguely blasphemous, don't knock it until you try it. Each bite was thoroughly delicious. It's a given that good food doesn't come cheap, but even so, Otto and Blue has no margin for error to justify what it charges. On food alone, it was close but not quite there. However, the overall experience made it worthwhile, and I have no regrets about dining here.

The chicken itself was excellent. It was incredibly juicy, perfectly fried, and had a great crispy coating. My only issue was that the breading felt like it was missing a little something, maybe more seasoning, pepper, or some extra flavor. Growing up with places like Gus's Fried Chicken in Memphis and Nashville hot chicken, I think I naturally expect a little more punch from the chicken itself. The sauce they serve is more of a barbecue style sauce, and while it worked, I personally didn't love it enough for it to carry all the flavor. The sides were a mixed bag. The collard greens were really good and definitely one of the highlights. The coleslaw, though, was way too pepper heavy for my taste. Also, the piece of bread that comes with the meal was honestly not worth the calories. I'd rather see them either upgrade the bread or skip it altogether. One unexpected highlight was the pebble ice from the drink machine. Small detail, but it was awesome and definitely appreciated. Overall, I'd come back and try some different sides because the chicken itself is worth returning for. With a little more seasoning or some different sauce options, I could see this being a 5 star spot.
