We really enjoyed our experience at Cracker Barrel. We went on a Sunday, a little before noon, and it was quite busy, but there were plenty of employees assisting customers. The atmosphere was very pleasant, with lots of interesting decorations throughout the restaurant. The menu also had a great variety of options at different price points, including individual meals and family-style options. The food was delicious. We ordered the pot roast, and I had the lemon pepper fish. Both dishes were very flavorful and enjoyable. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend it! read more

I am so surprised at the low reviews for this Cracker Barrel location. We just recently went here and it was the nicest and cleanest CB we've ever been in. It's not very big, but everything was very bright and clean and neatly organized. Our food was fresh, fast, and yummy. The service was great and every individual we encountered was so pleasant! This is the second time this week Mama and I have eaten here because we love it! A lot of the weight Staff know us and one of the cashiers and all of them are so very kind! The food is always very delicious and flavorful and always cook just right! The food is always well seasoned as well. On Monday I got the baked chicken breast with mushroom gravy and it was so moist flavorful and delicious! Today I have opted for a breakfast meal with turkey, sausage patties, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, and multigrain toast. I always get the multigrain toast as my bread as it is always so delicious and grilled just right! today the turkey sausage patties were just as spicy and flavorful as I like them and the scrambled eggs were fluffy and delicious. The sliced tomatoes were also fresh and firm Ish. The prices here are also excellent as all of this food only cost $10.99! Did I mention that I got a bowl full of fresh strawberries and blueberries? The fresh fruit offerings included pineapple, but I chose to only get the blueberries and strawberries. The fruit was fresh and delicious and I got a very large portion of it. I had breakfast here this morning. The service was good, and more attentive than usual. I got the Momma's breakfast with sausage patties. Coffee was good. I was expecting regular breakfast sausage so the smokiness was a little disappointing. Pancakes were good, fluffy with real syrup. I think the griddle is heavily oiled though, the edges looked fried. Live about 5 minutes from the restaurant, it was ready when I arrived, personnel was friendly, and helpful. Prices were above website, only a couple dollars each. This is to be expected, at this time. Portions were smaller than I received, in Greensboro, recently. Food was lukewarm, Sanitation Rating was only 90.0, disappointing. Enjoyed our visit to Cracker Barrel yesterday for dinner. The parking lot is easy to navigate, and there was no wait, not surprisingly, for a Thursday. The food, as usual, was very good and consistent from my last visit. I ordered the grilled catfish with corn and mashed potatoes. Everyone except my daughter enjoyed their meal. Went to this location for the first time as a midpoint stop in a roadtrip around Sunday brunch time! I enjoyed that you could join the waitlist online without having to be there in-person. We were sat down about 10 minutes late, but no problem as it was definitely busy. We were served by Destiny and she was awesome! Such a kind, helpful, and very attentive server! Highly recommend. We were also greeted by the manager Kim (I believe that was her name) who was also very friendly. Our food took a while to come out, but it turned out good so no complaints here! The Kernersville Cracker Barrel is a year or two old. I only came across it as another Cracker Barrel was closed earlier on my drive and this is the food I had decided on for lunch. The high ceilings and the spaced out tables makes this a safe choice with COVID. I'm glad I found this gem. The layout is different than other Cracker Barrel restaurants. You check in on the left side of the store part near restaurant. The cash registers are in the back and they have a cooler of ready to go food. I was also told where all the sections of the store were including the sale section. Outside of the restaurant had tables to dine at rather than the usual rocking chairs. This Cracker Barrel was the friendliest I've ever been and the service was top notch too. The menu is the same as the other Cracker Barrels. The mashed potatoes are strange tasting(instant, not fresh), the biscuits..what the heck..NOT home made..small, hard, barely risen, the smoke flavor they continue to use in gravy AND food, is disgusting. This Cracker Barrel is consistently bad. My family and I love Cracker Barrel and have been to many of them all across the country. Service and quality are consistently good. However, since moving to NC about a year ago, the Cracker Barrel in Kernersville is consistently been bad in two key areas: Service and food quality. On 11/13/22, my wife and I went in for dinner. We stood at the host desk for a while, finally a person behind me went and found the manager. He started seating us. The server came and took our order. No silverware until we asked for it. I had a dirty spoon inside mine. After quite some time, our order came out and was cold. They looked so busy that we went ahead and just ate it, fearing we'd never get to eat if we sent it back. I noticed the 91.5 health department score when we left. After taking our initial order, our server disappeared and helped other tables, only to come back near the end when our meal was finished, to ask if the food came out OK. Didn't seem like she wanted to really know, so we didn't get into it. We asked for a box and it never came, so we left. Normally, we'd spend time looking in the retail store side (almost always buying something). However, after the bad meal experience, we were ready to get out of there, so we skipped the walk through. The lady that was the cashier asked how our meal was. I advised her politely that the service wasn't that great. She did not respond, so we just paid for our meal and left. I want to believe that this store can be a great place like all of the other Cracker Barrel's we've been to through the years. However, it hasn't worked out so far. Our main problem this evening wasn't the price of our food, but how it was handled by the manager. Let's begin. Our waitress was a sweetheart, Miranda. Give her a raise or a better job because me and my friend cannot imagine working in such a narcissistic environment. we both each ordered a sweet tea, hash-brown casserole, and tots. our total should have been below $20, maybe even $15, however, we were communicated that ordering a vegetable platter (four sides) would come out cheaper than ordering JUST the four sides. (for clarification the platter is ONLY four sides NOTHING else) which we did. however, when our receipt came back it was counting the platter ($10.29) AND all of our sides (which we should not have been charged for) we understand how it came out to be that total, however, the prices of our sides ($2.39 and $1.99) should been included with the platter. it wasn't. we explained that we were confused to our waitress, she then explained to us why it came out to that price but we were still a little confused. the manager came over and instead of taking off the extra $10 charge (we literally only ate 1/4 of hashbrown a with a slice of cheese) he instead belittled us, and shut us down when we asked a question. he left, came back, and then we decided to give in and just pay. in the end our total was $33.89 after tip. this was ridiculous, attitude from manager was unacceptable, we are merely just two teenage girls who were overpowered by someone who didn't want to be wrong. we will not be back. To sum up the prices, we were told it would be cheaper to order veggie platter. We ordered the veggie platter, got charged for the veggie platter(4 regular side) PLUS the prices of the four premium sides that we substituted. We should have been charged the original price for the platter plus the difference in prices of the premium sides, not have to pay for four regular sides AND four premium sides. My husband and I recently went to a restaurant out of town and paid double what we spent at Cracker Barrel this evening, and the food at that particular restaurant wasn't even half as good as what we ate tonight. The Cracker Barrel in Kernersville is the real deal. I ordered the trout and two vegetables, and it was a delicious meal. The trout was cooked perfectly, the fried okra was exactly right, and the steamed broccoli was delicious, steamed but not overdone, and there was a delicate flavor to it without being too buttery or greasy. My husband's meal was also outstanding. We feel very fortunate that we have this restaurant close by, and that the affordability enables us to be able to eat out. The poor service, undercooked vegetables, missing chicken from the chicken and dumplings, consistent low sanitation rating, and the lack of patrons during dinner hours all contributed to this dismal one-star review. Let's start with the service, or should I say, lack thereof. The staff seemed utterly disinterested in providing even basic customer care. The waitress had to keep coming back to the table because she either forgot something in the kitchen or there was another problem with our order. As for the food, I have never been served such undercooked vegetables in my life. It was like the broccoli was thrown in the pot a few minutes prior to serving. It's as if they were simply tossed onto the plate without any regard for proper preparation. I was expecting a delightful culinary experience, but instead, I got a plate full of unappetizing, crunchy veggies that were nearly raw. The biscuits were also hard biscuits and the cole slaw was a discolored, making it not suitable for consumption. It's shocking that a restaurant of Cracker Barrel's stature could serve such subpar food. It wouldn't be right for me to focus on all the negatives so I would also like to note the green beans were delicious. To add insult to injury, my order of chicken and dumplings was missing the most crucial ingredient: the chicken itself! I was left with a sad bowl of flavorless dumplings swimming in a sea of gravy. How can a restaurant mess up such a classic dish? It's unfathomable and completely inexcusable. We asked the waitress why there wasn't any chicken, and her response was "sometimes the kitchen runs out of chicken and doesn't let us know." After we reminded her to check on the chicken several times, the waitress finally brought out a small bowl of room temperature chicken after I had already consumed the dumplings. The poor sanitation rating is yet another alarming aspect of this establishment. This Cracker Barrel has been given a low rating of a B a couple of times in the last year which is a clear indicator of their negligence towards proper hygiene practices. It's concerning to think that they are allowed to operate with such a low standard of cleanliness. As a customer, I expect to dine in a safe and sanitary environment, but this was far from the case at this Cracker Barrel. I later found out they had violations on the inspection due to the chicken and dumplings not being held at the minimum 135 degrees for food safety. Lastly, the lack of patrons during dinner hours was a telltale sign of the declining reputation of this restaurant. It was disconcerting to see only 5-10 tables occupied in an establishment that should be bustling with customers. The emptiness not only created an eerie atmosphere but also made me question the quality of their food and service. There is a lot that the Kernersville location can learn about customer service and food quality. They should take a page out of the Jonesville location's book, it's the best Cracker Barrel that I have been to in a long time. read more

She got me extra maple glaze for my chicken which was very sweet of her. The Cinnamon Beignets with butter pecan sauce were delicious!!! These are absolutely the best things I've ever had at a Cracker Barrel hands down. I got a little sad with the last one to be honest. My meal was very good, but the Beignets were phenomenal!!! We've never eaten at Cracker Barrel before and since there was one close by, we thought delivery would be a good idea today. So we ordered chicken and dumplings with green beans and pinto beans for our daughter, a fried chicken sandwich and fries for my hubby, and chicken pot pie for me. The items came pretty neatly packaged. Especially as far as hubby's sandwich goes, was pleasantly surprised that individual ingredients (lettuce, tomatoes, pickles) were wrapped separately which helped keep it from getting too soggy. Unfortunately, it didn't seem to keep the heat very well. All of our food came lukewarm which was a bit of a turn off considering the Cracker Barrel is only a 3-minute drive from our house. There was nothing particularly memorable about our meal. The chicken and dumplings, green beans, and pinto tasted as bland as it looked and the fries that came with the chicken sandwich were very cold. Hubby thought the sandwich was okay, but wouldn't have it again if he had the choice to have a fried chicken sandwich elsewhere. Although my chicken pot pie was actually very good, unfortunately, it was lukewarm. I'd heard so much about Cracker Barrel so maybe my expectations were a little high, but now I can't say I haven't had it. Not sure it'll be a place we revisit though. read more

We've given this location so many chance over the last year after giving it a break for a long time in hopes it would get better. It didn't, it seems to have stayed the same if not gotten worse. We have only ordered to go the last three times and all three have been met with plus 30 minutes past the given ready time. When informing the waitress we were told the entire meal would be comp'd she went to the back to talk to management, then returned advising us we had to at least pay for our sweet tea.. We never ordered sweet tea, but did have a coffee so said screw it gave them the three bucks and will not be returning. No wonder why all the most recent reviews are so low!
