However, I did not have a good experience afterward. Additional services were offered to me without it being clearly explained that there would be an extra charge attached. I was also given wipes that I was told were free, but when I got to the counter, I was told I had to pay for them. I felt like I was being charged more without my clear consent or understanding. The front desk staff was not very kind or welcoming during checkout. I was made to feel embarrassed for not knowing that two extra waxing strips would cost an additional $22, and that the travel-size wipes were $13 after being told they were free. I left feeling uncomfortable, embarrassed, and like I wasn't treated very well by the front desk. While I appreciated the kindness of the person who provided the service, the checkout experience really impacted how I felt leaving the appointment. Because of this experience, I will not be returning.

Nail fungus is no joke. But I held my breath and didn't say anything. The nails did come out beautiful. But with a price tag of $150 before tip I was quite shocked. I payed, tipped and left. The next morning I woke up and my fingers hurt and itched. I gave it a couple days hoping it would go away, but it didn't. They have started to get swollen, red and still very itchy. I called them and let them know I was having a reaction and the response was "and what would you like us to do?" I was shocked that this was their response, and I said I didn't know because I had never had any kind of reaction before, so I was hoping they could tell me what I should do in this situation. Her response was "well if it's really bad you can just remove them." Completely unacceptable customer service. They couldn't even offer to remove them? It's been less than a week and for the price that was paid? I'd steer far away from this business, even if the nails look good. The health of your body is more important. And clearly your health and wellness is not something they are concerned with.

She put a dirty towel that was on the dirty floor on my back and neck. I felt so grossed out. I was so shocked when this happened because I never thought it would be this dirty in a salon in Bellevue area. I thought I picked a good, reputable salon for hair color. She showed many unprofessional behaviors. The hair color result was not what I expected and I have been getting hair color at different salons for 20 years. (I changed hair stylist whenever I moved to near area in WA state. I often try to find a new hair stylist close to home or my work place.) I am not new to this process (hair coloring) at all. Normally I go to Aveda salon in other area and they were able to dye my hair from original black hair with grey hairs to lighter color in one visit without highlights. I told Mindy that I wanted the root to match the color that I had before. She said that she could do that but the color came out very dark, almost black. I could dye the hair myself dark color easily at home. The price for this was 200 dollars. -- Mindy argued that she had to dye my hair dark color to cover grey hair. My regular hair dresser at Aveda was able to turn my hair into beautiful lighter color and cover grey hair beautifully. -- I will have to go to my regular Aveda salon soon to get highlights to correct the color. -- Mindy was very talkative. She got frustrated at me because she said I moved my head a lot so I was trying to relax and not talk a lot to avoid moving my head. I didn't want to upset her. She showed that she was frustrated. However, Mindy kept asking questions unrelated to hair such as "Do you have a boyfriend?" and etc while she was washing my hair. She accidentally spit on my face a few times. She expected me to keep answering her questions even during the time she was washing my hair after she was frustrated that I moved my head, the experience was so uncomfortable for me. When I relaxed and didn't respond to answer her questions quickly, she said loudly so other customers and staff can heat that I must be frustrated with her. It was the weirdest experience I ever had at a hair salon. In 20 years that I have been getting hair color at salon, this is the first time, a hair stylist doesn't let me relax. I overheard she asked a male customer next to me about his romantic relationship and she told him to propose even when he said he wasn't ready. I don't know-- I just felt so uncomfortable with all these unprofessional behaviors. -- Her dog was very cute in the salon but that was about it. I will NEVER go back. Mindy kept blaming me for weird things. For example, after the coloring process was done, I asked her for a solution to help remove the color on my skin, it was not a big deal for me. I saw she used that solution to help remove color on my face but missed some spots. I know the color will come off when I take a shower. But Mindy started blaming me and told me that hair color on my skin was one of the marks I had on my face before hair coloring process. I don't have any abnormal mark on my face prior to this. Mindy also blamed that the towel she put on my back and neck fell off because I moved. (The towel was very dirty from the beginning. I am not even sure if it had been used with others before me.) I had to use a restroom to urinate since she left the hair color on me longer that it was supposed to be because she accepted other male customers who walked in for hair cut and perm. -- Mindy then deflected and started blaming me for scheduling an appointment with her, she said that she was kind enough to let me schedule an appointment on the same day. Then she had to take other walk-in customers and kept the color chemical compound on my hair longer than it was supposed to be?! It doesn't make sense at all. She was blaming me for supporting her small business. This is why this will be the one and only time I will do business with this salon. When I called her, it seemed like she didn't have any customer so she asked me to come in right away on Tues around noon. Then when other customers showed up, she was trying to get as many customers as possible and left the hair color on me longer than normal. Then she deflected and said she had been doing this for a long time. She knew hair. She said if I experienced hair loss, she would pay 500 dollars. SAD-- I don't want 500 dollars. I just wanted to have my hair color in a normal peaceful way. If you care about cleanliness and want a professional setting in hair salon, this might not be a place that you enjoy. I have been going to salons since I was in my early 20's because I have grey hair since I was young. Now I am almost 40. I never had issue with moving and causing a towel to fall from my neck. It was so weird that the hair stylist blamed customer for a dirty towel.

She eventually admitted that it was my nail, but instead of apologizing, she implied it was the fault of how my nails looked. I can overlook bad customer service and even mediocre quality, but this was beyond that. Weeks later and my toe nails are still recovering because she did it at the bottom. She did this to two of my toe nails and the one pictured is the worst; I'm censoring because I don't like showing my toes. I would actively not recommend.

The location was under construction, presumably because they had recently been purchased, but that's a temporary issue and part of upgrading the business. I've been to the Herbal Nail Spa in Renton and they do a fantastic job, but this location is awful. I got a pedicure (which was great!), but a different technician did my Gel-X and she should not have been doing that. She lacked the skills, and worse, when I said something about the tips being applied crooked, she shrugged and told me that "my nails were crooked" and that's just how it was. I had asked for a basic straight stripe design, and the design was applied poorly. Again, when I said something, she told me it was because my nails were too short. The nails did stay on without chipping or lifting for two weeks. I think they would have stayed longer, but I couldn't look at them any longer (I actually used polish at home to paint over the bad design!). I went and had them removed at the Renton location. It's now been 10 weeks, and the damage done to my nails when they were applied is almost grown out. I've had Gel-X applied before with some minimal damage, but the aggressive filing before these were applied was over the top. I wasn't going to leave a review because some businesses go through a hard transition, but I emailed the Herbal Nail Spa through their website, with photos, to let them know how poorly the technician had done, and I didn't hear anything back, so alas, public review it is.

I have been to a few barber shops in the past, in California, in Las Vegas and I went to a place in Baltmore. They all had there qualities, but this place puts it all together. The place is clean, people are friendly, good conversation and they keep it respectable. The Barbers have skills, and Counsela is so nice and helpful. She can do any type of hair. My wife is caucasian and my daughter is blk/white. I've see, Latin, asian, african amer, white, etc. I love going to a barber shop and hearing everybodies stories from sports to personal life. That being said, theres a time and place for everything. I respect the fact that if they hear bad language and there's kids and or ladies present, they will talk to you about it. And the best of all-you make an appointment at 1pm, it will be at 1pm. Not 1:10, 1:15," opps I forgot someone it'll be 1:45pm instead. None of that and 30 minutes max.(depending on what you get done). I really enjoy this place read more

Well, I didn't think Auburn and Bellevue had anything in common until now. Last month, Peezcutz delivered a first-time "scissor cut" and this particular cut exemplified a natural looser cut. As we approach summer, I am pleased to have options, because at the Bellevue locations I can schedule my appointments at sun-up hours thanks to Mississippi. I am also pleased by the direct feedback that was received before and during the clipper haircut as summer approaches. Unfortunately, the only minor setback is the constant unnecessary reminders sent to my email before the haircut. I believe that should be optional. After only a few encounters from both shops Standing On Top has earned the reputation of a benevolent organization. read more

Finally a Barber Shop you can rely on. By now, I'm sure you all heard about the new shop over in Bellevue called Standing On Top. The name stands true. First, Hats off too the fellas; they're standing on top of the cuttin game! It's so refreshing to know that I can rely on this shop to be operational as advertised without delay. Its not often I get a day off, so operational hours and punctuality are important too me. when i was younger i was use to going to a hiphop/store front barbershop but now that i have kids i have to find a different environment while giving my boys a great fade and barbershop experience. they have sports on all the tv's, there are no bootleggers, fights, cussing, and people smelling like marijuanna. the owner is probably one of the top design artists i have seen in washington and they all give razor lineups. they are well versed in all hair types and very well with bi-racial hair. we definately found our home and will promote to the rest of the community. read more

Giant Shout Out to the gentlemen at Standing on Top. My father is 98 years old and hadn't been to a barbershop in many, many years. I called first to make sure they were comfortable cutting and shaving someone so fragile and Mississippi was so kind and welcoming on the phone. When we got there there were many people waiting but they took my Dad right away. Triston cut/shaved and trimmed my Dad and did an awesome job. He was so kind and took such great care of my Dad. I stepped in and the gentleman barbers greeted me....SUPER professional! I saw Consuela Bailey. She was on time, really sweet and hella funny! Coming from several messed up salon experiences it was refreshing to just get my hair cut with absolutely NO drama. And on top of that...she's dope ;).
