I've been to BQ fairly often and have had mixed experiences. I've waited to write a review because I wanted to be able to give it high praise. Twice I checked it out on band nights since it opened after the Stay at Home Order was lifted. Both times I left immediately due to seeing employees without masks, or, with masks dropped down. The first incident I observed employees emptying trash and clearing tables with no masks. The place was crowded, no social distancing and customers, also not wearing masks, crowded around small tables which were close together. Last night we stopped in and left after seeing 3 of 4 bartenders without masks, a crowd on the roof, no social distancing, no one with masks, sitting, standing and dancing, and a waiter walking with mask down then pulling it up to serve a table. We left and went to a neighboring restaurant roof to eat and have drinks. From there I saw a patron on the roof of BQ wearing a blue shirt inside the staging area, hanging over the band members. I've enjoyed Bishops Quarters in the past, appreciated the generous New Years Eve, have brought friends and family there, enjoy the burgers on Sundays, the Bourbon, and the Halloween party. The food is good, but management is lacking. There's a lot of irresponsibility here and owner not present. read more

Amazing food, chill vibe and small town views. Been wanting to try this place for a while. Known for their fresh seafood dishes, they also have a great chicken sandwich. I got the crab cakes with remoulade sauce...DELISH. It's hard to find great seafood so far from the ocean but this place delivers. Grab a seat on the iron gated balcony on the 2nd or 3rd floor for views of the small town life. And gotta get this playlist! What a chill vibe like I'm driving slow taking the long way home. I wish we lived closer, I think we'd be regulars. This place is huge! Three stories with a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces, there's room for everyone. We came during the "new normal" so they were operating off of a limited menu, but most of what we had was really tasty. I personally had the salmon sandwich and it was five stars, cooked perfectly and served with fries. The person at our table who had the shrimp tacos was less excited. Our server was busy but attentive and the manager was super friendly when he stopped by as well. They seemed to be handling the new regulations pretty well (paper menus, paper napkins, masks, etc.). I'd like to go back and sit on the rooftop, looks super fun. You really do feel like you're in New Orleans when you're there! read more

Great location! We stopped in while in Loveland. It was packed with people but not too crowded. With three levels we were able to grab a seat right away! We had the fried Brussel sprouts, French onion soup and pretzels. All were good but the pretzels were our favorite. Their bourbon selection was top of the line and we were very pleased with all of the options. It looks like their menu updates pretty frequently based on other reviews. We will be back! read more

I recently had my first visit to Bishop's Quarter for Sunday brunch. They have 3 floors to the restaurant which is neat. The decor and atmosphere feels very southern and I very much enjoyed that. I thought the menu was on the smaller side but full of unique options. I typically stick with a traditional breakfast, so I ordered the Bayou Breakfast which was $12, a bit pricey for what I received. I would've expected a potato option on the side as well. The food was mediocre, it wasn't very hot when it was served. It did come with an extra meat which wasn't noted on the menu. I think that the biscuit should've come with jam and butter. I'm interested to try out their normal lunch/dinner menu to see if the food is any better. What made this place is the ambiance and balconies. read more

What a great first experience we had last night!! First, our waiter, Alex, was awesome, light hearted and funny!! We had a vanilla old fashion that was fantastic! For an appetizer we had pretzels and beer cheese...I believe it was the best I've had. For dinner my hubby and I both had the New Orleans blackened grouper, OMG, I wanted to lick the plate clean. Just when I didn't think things would get better...we had dessert, hazelnut beignets. I thought I died and went to heaven. We only saw the first floor, which was very nice. I understand there are 3 floors, I would like to go back and check out one of the other floors some day. We will definitely be back. read more

Enjoyed this spot. Three floors to choose from. Food is great. Tip:shrimp and grits is done right andouille is yummy and roux is dark and flavorful! Great first floor dedicated to bourbon and cigar night is on Tuesdays with cool comfy outdoor options to HERF! Happy hour wines are good and pricing of small plates good too! Parking is a still a bit of a challenge in downtown Loveland so allow time to drive around looking for a space. Service is excellent friendly and fun! I'll be back with more bourbon lovin friends! Terrible experience, the absolute WORST service we've ever had. Waited 2 1/2 hours for our food and then when we inquired about our order at the 2 1/2 hour mark the bartender was immediately defensive and actually asked me if I wanted an apron to go cook it myself because they are so understaffed. We then asked to speak to the Manager who had a chance to diffuse the situation and instead did the opposite and asked US to leave. Lol. The whole encounter was odd and completely unprofessional. This was the most ridiculous dining experience we've ever had and the staff was absolutely atrocious from the waitress to bartenders to the manager. I cannot leave a review for the food because we never got it!! Unbelievable. Tip: If you're planning to go to Bishop's Quarter I suggest stopping at McDonald's first or having a back up dining plan for afterwards. read more

Location is perfect, decor is what everyone is describing...very cool and love the rooftop bar and music. Service is inconsistent and unclear. Do I find my seat or will someone seat me? Oh, I seat myself...do servers know we're here? Clarity would be helpful but you're left guessing. Food is just okay. As a Loveland resident, I'll be cheering when someone does food right here. Most restaurants are relying on the scenic location and assured crowds. With the exception of Tano, I've yet to discover a restaurant with a chef who seems to really know and care about food. Lots of predictable options in this town with copycat menus of standards. So when I saw a New Orleans menu, I was hopeful. Most of it is just okay. My husband and I always get the fish and rice and beans as it's the most consistent, but even that is good, not great. We'll be back because if the location and proximity to our home. But I've resigned myself to loving my vibrant town and bike trail and accepting that if I want fresh, healthy, delicious and interesting food, the downtown Loveland area isn't where to find it. read more

We came for happy hour on a Friday, as they have some great drink specials! It was quite busy, but the place is very large, so we snagged a table near the bar. A waitress came right over and took our drink orders. We both got the discounted Hurricane, which was delicious! We told her to keep them coming, which she did! We also ordered some appetizers to share. The Fried Green tomatoes were a bit different version than id had before, as they had a marinara sauce on them, but I really liked them! They were crispy and flavorful. The Bishop's poutine was our second choice, which was a good one. The combo of the shrimp, andouille gravy, and cheese curds atop the crispy potato was divine. Both portions were generous. The service continued to be excellent throughout. During our time here a live music act set up which was a nice addition. The vibe has you completely feeling like you are in New Orleans. There is a side patio, second floor, second floor covered patio, and rooftop! I absolutely cannot wait to come back and try more menu items and take advantage of the outdoor spaces when the weather gets nice! read more

My boyfriend and I came here recently and I really enjoyed it! Definitely gives Louisiana vibes which for some reason I didn't pick up on by the name itself. The interior aesthetic is very dark classic and gives a very homey feel despite having a very large room. We started off with the pretzels and beer cheese and it was quite delicious! I am a big fan of pretzels and I was quite happy with how tender and tasty they were. I have never had beer cheese and I loved how fluffy (?) it was, it had a great flavor to it. I got an order of the crab cakes and I was quite happy with them! I generally have high standards for seafood being from Florida and these were rather good. Not necessarily the best, but it definitely hits the spot if you're craving crab. My boyfriend got a patty melt because they were out of the buns for the burger he was initially going to order and that was super good! I honestly ended up eating a solid quarter of it. My favorite part of the meal was our waiter, Alex. He was hilarious, very attentive, and really made eating there a true pleasure. Overall, this is definitely somewhere I would recommend but it isn't somewhere I would necessarily come to super often. read more

As a group of four, we visited on a Friday evening. We heard good things about the food, so we stopped in. There were no less than 6 staff members huddled in the corner, maybe waiting on drinks, but eye contact didn't prevent them from ignoring the fact we were arriving. No grins, no nods, no acknowledgement at all. Down to four stars. We saw a sign for the rooftop lounge and ascended the stairs. On the second floor, the Manager saw one of the members in our party and struck up a conversation with him. We continued on. Once we arrived at the rooftop lounge, we found it just a little over capacity, so we started our descent to find a place to park the 4 of us. Back on the second floor, we found the fourth in our party still chatting up the manager. We slipped past them and seated ourselves at the table they were leaning on. It was most convenient. After 5-10 minutes, as the manager left, he told us to enjoy our evening. I thought maybe there is no table service, so I went to the bar (there is one located on each floor) to ask for a glass of wine and a draft beer. Turns out, I have to go to the bar downstairs for that. Down I went. I saw the gaggle of staff members, and thought they must be waiting for drinks, so I went to their end of the bar. One of the bartenders stepped up immediately and asked for my order. As I placed it, she started the beer as the other bartender poured the wine. It was the ONLY indication of efficiency we saw the entire visit. I returned with my wife's drink, and noticed we still didn't even have water glasses. To be completely fair, someone tossed 2 menus at us. Down to 3 stars. When we finally merited a visit from our server, we ordered drinks and asked for the food menus. She explained "This is a bar, all the food can be found on the last page of the drink menus you have." That sealed the rating. Overpriced drinks, underwhelming staff. Not a fan. read more

Kaitlin, my bartender, was amazing, but I'm allergic to shellfish. I was told we could substitute for the shellfish on a fish and chips deal that was around $20. I was surprised when my $20 fish and chips came back with a single 6" piece of fish. I asked what happened and was told it would cost me $8 more dollars for a new piece of fish. So I paid almost $30 dollars for two pieces of fish and fries... This was really bad business and didn't show support for a patron with a shellfish allergy. read more

Love it! We went here on a nice Sunday afternoon for their burger deal and to see the roof. Food was delicious and the rooftop bar is BEAUTIFUL. It has a totally different atmosphere than the inside (which is equally beautiful). The inside matches the outside of an old NOLA style building. The reason for the 4-star is the service was pretty bad. We had to wait awhile to get served, had to wave someone down again to order after a pretty long time, and had to find our server to grab our check too (after 10+ minutes of being done and ready to go). They weren't particularly busy either. I heard the table next to us voice the same issue to a manager. Hopefully it was just one of the first days they had the roof open and they do better with their service. Would love to come back and have that be better. You also had to go downstairs to get a draft beer (outside a few options they have upstairs). Which kind of stinks to walk down 2 flights of stairs and open a new tab just to get a nice beer. The food, drinks and roof was awesome! Just hoping for better service. Downtown Loveland has become a destination. Definitely give this place a chance. We will be back! read more
