AVOID THIS MUA Booked hair and makeup services MONTHS ago…read moreand then recently found out they double booked my appointment afterwards?? Very unresponsive and unhelpful in trying to resolve the issue, and basically lost my deposit over this nonsense Definitely would not recommend their services for any important events

This review is long overdue. Long story short, DO NOT BOOK ARTISTIC GLAM!!!…read more Honestly if I could go lower on the ratings for artistic glam, I would. I chose to look into Erin because she had been recommended by other brides I know in the OKC area. I looked into her website and liked the work, so I decided to be "safe" and go with her, especially because her pricing was extremely affordable. Big mistake. It's 100% true that you "get what you pay for." I talked to her & booked her early October and paid the 50% deposit of almost $300. She assured me that she had a big enough team to be able to service 13 people within 3 hours, as I was worried that my large bridal party would take a long time to get ready. She was very bad at communicating and responding to texts and calls after that initial call. The WORST PART: around January, I found out that she ended up booking another wedding in OKC that also had a big bridal party like mine and did not tell me or the other bride. This other bride booked her MONTHS after I did. Not only this, but I learned from previous brides Erin had serviced that she does not have a big salon, nor enough personnel to be able to handle one huge bridal party, let alone two. I tried contacting her to talk about it and I was never responded to. The other bride finally tried and was able to reach Erin, who reassured the other bride that she could do it. In early January, I started calling her more frequently because I wanted to set up a trial at the end of February, when I would be flying to OKC (I live out of state). Needless to say, after multiple phone calls, texts, and EVEN emails over the course of a few weeks, Erin did not respond. It wasn't until I landed in okc and called her from my fiancé's phone that she picked up, the DAY BEFORE I wanted a trial. Of course the trial didn't happen, but I went in to her salon to get a physical copy of the contract so she'd be held accountable for it. She told me to email her to set up a trial date, and all the details that I had worked out with the other bride for the day of our wedding. The other bride and I worked out a schedule to try and make things easier for Erin and to give us a peace of mind because our weddings were at the SAME time on the SAME day & we BOTH had 7+ people in our bridal party. We emailed Erin, who (a month later) said she never got the email!!? I don't understand how that is possible because I emailed the MULTIPLE email addresses that were listed on the contract she had printed out for me... The other bride had her trial at the end of March and she told me it was not good. Erin gave her a time, showed up LATE, and was overall very unprofessional in her demeanor. She also said that Erin said it would just be her and ONE other girl coming to help at BOTH mine and the other bride's wedding... like how is that possible to do??? How can ONLY 2 people help two different (& large) wedding parties that have to start & finish getting ready during the same time frame? Hearing this was the last straw for me. Someone who cannot show up on time to a trial is proving that they probably won't show up on time for the day of the wedding (which is what happened for the other bride), and that is not the kind of stress ANY bride on a strict time schedule needs the day of her wedding. After all this unreliability and unresponsiveness, I chose to cancel Erin and go with a team more reliable from Tulsa. I tried to be patient and understanding, but she did nothing to reciprocate that courtesy. Erin basically got to keep my hefty deposit because it says on her website that the deposit is non-refundable, and she did NO work. After I cancelled on her, Erin promised the other bride that she and 3 other people would come to help the morning of the wedding since she did not have my wedding booked anymore. She ended up showing up with just herself and ONE other person, to service 8+ people... glad I missed out on that stress! She also spent less than 20mins on that bride's hair, after spending over an hour on the trial. What's the point of a trial if you're not going to allocate the same amount of effort on the day of the wedding? For the 'decent at best' quality of Erin's work, this kind of behavior was just ridiculous and not worth it. PAY THE MONEY and get someone more reliable, which is literally ANYONE else... Totally unprofessional, DO NOT BOOK HER!!!

For me it's a treat and a bit of a splurge, but I appreciate every last drop so I think it's okay. I had acne all through my 20's, and MAC was the only makeup that provided enough cover without looking like pancake makeup, so I'm eternally grateful and fiercely loyal. I don't know where they find the folks who work here, but I feel like I want to know everyone who works there, just for a glimpse into their lives. Like where do they hang out? What bar do these guys, gals, and guys who are sometimes dressed as gals go for a cocktail? I want to go to there. And you'll never know if they really like you or not, because they always behave as if doing your eye makeup while you tell them about your upcoming special night out is exactly what they want to be doing. I'd add a fifth star if Dillard's could figure out how to make the lighting better over there. It's hard to tell if you really love that shade or not in that yucky light. Remember to keep your little MAC boxes until you are certain you love everything about that new product. They're super cool about returns, but you'll need to have the box with that ever-important yellow UPC sticker. Also, save your empty containers (lipstick tubes, foundation bottles, eyeshadow caes) and when you six, take them in for MAC's recycling program and select a free lipstick. That's got to be one of the best recycling programs I know of. I have lots of MAC lipstick but rarely do I actually pay for one.
