Great atmosphere and excellent service recovery!…read more I stopped by Tupelo Honey in downtown Boise for lunch and loved the vibe. The decor features beautiful artificial greenery that gives the space a light, vibrant, and welcoming feel. My server, Brayden, was fantastic--friendly, prompt, and attentive. I started with the Southern Hospitality mimosa (peach & pineapple with "Blue Ridge Bubbly"), which was incredible. For my meal, I chose the $10.99 Lunch Break Special, upgrading my side to the chicken poblano soup alongside the half honey pecan chicken salad sandwich. While I was looking at the bar, a gentleman named Scott asked how I was enjoying my food. I told him I hadn't tried it yet, but that the mimosa was rocking! The soup was delicious with great flavoring, and the biscuits paired perfectly with their tasty jam. The chicken salad also tasted great, but unfortunately, I bit into a sharp chicken bone that hurt my mouth. Because of this, I stopped eating the sandwich. When Brayden checked back in, I let him know I couldn't finish it due to the bone. He handled it perfectly, promptly took the sandwich away, and removed the charge from my bill. He also brought out some bread for my soup as requested. I finished my meal with a salted caramel craft iced latte, which was absolutely delicious. Minor food mishap aside, the outstanding customer service from both Brayden and Scott will definitely bring me back!

May 1, 2021 Previous review This could be the best Reuben I have tasted in the Treasure Valley. Just out for a Saturday afternoon drive before a hailstorm came thru. Exceptional food for our lunch today. A Reuben Sandwich and Fish & Chips. Of course a 20 oz. Stella Artois and a Guinness had to be included. The sandwich had beautiful marbled rye bread. The Corned beef was tender and full of flavor. The sauerkraut was yummy and the dressing was just right. Great price and big portion with fries. The Fish & Chips were light and tasty. The batter was just right to hold the fish together without swamping the flavor of the fish. Not greasy. The tartar sauce was perfect and the cole slaw was excellent. Damn good food in a real small village atmosphere. Totally recommend.

Going to the Springhouse wasn't actually my plan today. I headed to Hidden Springs to check out…read moreRooted which is a coffee joint attached to the restaurant. On their website, it said they closed at 2. I didn't realize that this coffee shop is only 7 minutes from my house which is a lot easier than heading down State. So, my daughter and I made our way to Rooted for an afternoon caffeinated beverage. We showed up a little after 1. Come to find out they decided to close at 1 so I didn't get a chance to try out their coffee. My daughter was hungry so we decided to head into the Springhouse to get something to eat. To be honest, their price point here is quite amusing. I get that you're in a up scale area but let's be realistic. 20 bucks for a burger? My daughter got their lunch special which was a chicken Cesar wrap and it was still 17 bucks. I wasn't in the mood to eat anything big so I got something off their appetizer menu. The fried cauliflower seemed up my alley so I ordered that as my meal. It was mid afternoon so it was pretty chill. There were a few guests dining there. My daughter and I hung out while our food was being prepared. The venue is very big. There's a nice bar area with a big screen TV. Great for conversation, drinks and football. There are a good amount of tables that can handle quite a few people. The decor was very simple country shabby. I love the old school photos of the farmhouses they displayed. I adore old photos that carry so much history. It's cool to see what life was like back then. My fried cauliflower came out first. The presentation of the fried cauliflower was rather annoying. Like they were thrown on one side of the basket cause it was just easier for them. I was also surprised I didn't get any type of dipping sauce with them. It's humorous really, 9 bucks for cauliflower and no dip. No plates, no napkins, no silverware was given when my food was dropped off. I guess we were supposed to wipe our hands on our clothes and eat with our hands. So that tip that was at the end of my transaction is for.... service? What service? I went and asked for some utensils. My daughter's lunch was dropped off after we started on the cauliflower. I can tell my cauliflower had been sitting under the heat lamp for a while. They weren't hot. The exterior of the cauliflower was not crunchy. The sauce had been sitting on the fried batter too long and it became mushy. I scraped off the mushy batter and just ate the cauliflower with no dipping sauce. My daughter's wrap looked pretty basic for 17 bucks. We also found a blonde hair in her food. We were offered a new wrap but who wants a new wrap when my daughter just chewed on someone's hair. The venue is nice. This joint has been on my to go list for a while so it was cool I got to scope it out today. But, the food was nothing special. They start the tip percentage at 20% for you to get your own utensils, napkins and beverage. Tipping is earned and or atleast be given some decent service but taking our order at the bar or dropping off food isn't service to me. I'll pass on the subpar overpriced food and lack of service. I'll stick to somewhere in my neck of the woods.

If you like mushy bland trash I can do it for you for half the cost. Mac and cheese, mushy and gross Red beans and rice, bland Cornbread, dry, hard, cold and gross Lemon cake/bars, mushy/wet, hard like a hint of ginger and was unique. If it wasn't for the texture maaaaaybe this would have been the star of the items we had. Got the cobbler said cherry or peach, it was a pineapple cherry mix that was complete mush and absolutely inedible. Fucking joke 1/4 chicken was hard and dry af with zero flavor. I feed it to my dog Last but not least was a full rack of ribs. Tender great flavor, a bit fatty but really good. But with everything else a complete disaster it ruined the experience of the ribs. My kids couldn't stomache it and I had to order from another place for dinner. Not fucking happy. If you dont give a fuck sbout your business, shut it down then. I would never serve that food to anyone especially for what we paid for it. Yeah, I'm pissed the fuck off. Never again, period!!! If you think I'm being harsh, you are correct. We came here for a birthday celebration tonight, a Sunday. There were four couples. We were sat…read moreright away (I believe we had reservations) at a nice corner half booth. It has a nice ambience. Inside are a combination of booths, half booths, low and bar height tables, dark wood, with a nice semi-circular bar with a nice, semi-circular metal decoration that was filled with artificial plants, wine bottles, and small kegs. There was a wine rack accent wall on the right. It is located in downtown Boise at the corner of Idaho and 8th St along restaurant row. Our server was Matthew B, and while he was a nice guy, he did not provide good service. It took him a while to get to our table, then after we ordered drinks, it took too long to get them. We then ordered appetizers but he didn't take our dinner orders. We waited too long for the appetizers, and then we ordered our dinners, which also took a while to come out. Runners brought our food out, not Matthew. He did not to refill the women's sodas, we had to ask. He did bring another glass of wine to one of the men, but that was because he was signaled. He did not ask the other people that ordered beer and cocktails if they wanted another. We never had our water glasses refilled. We told him about the birthday celebration, and all he said was, if we ordered dessert, he would put a candle on it. What? Most places serve a complimentary dessert for a birthday celebration. He also took too long to bring us our checks. We're all good tippers. We gave him 15%; he didn't deserve it. The food was OK, not spectacular, but overpriced. As far as the apetizers, the asparagus fries were not that flavorful, though nicely crusted. The cauliflower was just OK, likewise the chicken wings. I did like the honey and balsamic grilled brussel sprouts. Speaking for my wife and I, she liked the BAM Sammy. The side salad was average. I ordered the Urban Burger. While the patty was cooked well, it was small. I can get a bigger, better burger that costs less at any number of restaurants we frequent, including a few near us (we live in Star). I did like the fries. Crispy, with I believe Parmesan cheese coating them. My friend said his smoked salmon salad was just OK. We found it very loud, and difficult to hear each other in conversation. Needless to say, we have no plans to return to Fork.
