The G Mac - four cheese macaroni with bacon
    Juli S.

GravEyard is a Biscuits and Gravy-centric pop-up that serves out of Zen Bento's window in downtown Boise. To keep apprised of their schedule, you will need to follow them on FB. I visited on 8/24/19. I ordered the O.G. B&G and the Mac & Cheese. The O.G. Is a biscuit with sausage sage gravy and taters. I loved the biscuit but I did not care for the gravy, which skewed more towards sweet than savory. Nor did I care for the Mac & Cheese, which was unexpectedly and overly smoky. Even so, I love the concept behind GravEyard and look forward to returning to try some new menu items. I encourage you to do the same.

We are IN LOVE with this place. We go whenever they are open. The Mac and Cheese and Polenta Poutine are amazing!!! The service is always fast and they are so funny and nice. Definitely worth following them on Instagram just to know when they're open! Almost everything can be made vegetarian or vegan. I wish they had a permanent spot!

The only real complaint I have is that I no longer enjoy biscuits and gravy from anywhere else around town.

A great upstairs bar, patio space outside, lots of whiskey and Bourbon and other great things. I will say the one Star drop was just the very very average to below average food! I have been here a couple of times, good cocktails! Came in one night to watch a Bball game and have some dinner. I have been on a quest of the best Fish & Chips in Boise and figured from the feel of this place it might just hit a little something! I was, well disappointed I guess is the best way to say it. Fish & Chips were OK, very OK, but cold or at least not real warm! I get it, kitchen is downstairs and it has to come up but that is something they should be good at. This was not a very busy night and I don't think that had much to do with anything! I will come back for the patio, might even have a bite here again but I don't think I would order the Fish & Chips again, just wouldn't be worth it! Great location, patio but very average and not very warm food! KT

Both continued to surpass expectations of the kindness one receives at a dining experience. Notably the staff works together in such a cohesive team that our waters are always filled up and our plates are always removed or brought at perfect timing like a symphony. We were blessed and surprised with "on the house" carrot cake as well tonight which was so delicious I can't stop thinking about it. It you are looking for a new favorite dining spot in Boise, make Percy your number one! Ask for Jared and Erin and your experience will be like no other. Oh yeah, the short ribs are AMAZING!!!!

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and made to feel welcome. I ordered the Dirty Olive House Martini and was pleasantly surprised to learn that Bardenay is the nation's first restaurant and distillery, serving its own handcrafted spirits. Their house-distilled vodka made for one smooth and delicious martini! Our server, Sabrina, was outstanding--friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. She recommended the fish tacos, and they were absolutely delicious! My husband ordered the burger and fries, and he couldn't stop talking about how good they were. What really impressed me was Sabrina's attentiveness. As soon as she noticed my martini was getting low, she stopped by to see if I'd like another. I figured, "Why not?" I was about to spend a few hours on a plane and was hoping to catch some ! The bar and seating area were spotless, and we enjoyed watching FIFA on the TVs while we ate. Great food, handcrafted cocktails, exceptional service, and a welcoming atmosphere. If you're flying out of Boise Airport, I highly recommend making time to stop at Bardenay Restaurant & Distillery before your flight. We'll definitely be back!

Today my friend wanted to celebrate her birthday here so of course I said yes! We decided to sit on the outdoor patio today. It wasn't the warmest day but it was beautiful out. The sun was peeking out once in a while. The table was nicely shaded by a huge umbrella. The sun was nice but to have it beating on you isn't the best so the umbrella was appreciated. It was the perfect table for our outing. Jerika (I hope I spelled her name right) greeted my friend and I with her beautiful smile. We got some drinks started so while they were being worked on, my friend and I breezed over the menu. I did somewhat enjoy my charboiled salmon at the Eagle Bardenay for my birthday a couple weeks ago. The chefs did undercook my first plate of salmon. The server was kind to take my plate back to have the chefs remake it. The second attempt was appreciated but it was unfortunately a fail. The salmon came out so dry. I get that I wanted it well done but not jerky. But, today's a new day and I was willing to give it another shot. So today, I ordered the salmon with veggies instead of the salad. My plate came out and it looked promising. I love beautiful char marks on my food. The char marks today were perfect. My veggies looked nicely cooked but I could tell that some of the squash was still undercooked by the color. I didn't mind, it's a sign of freshness. As much as I wanted to stare at the prettiness of my food, I was ready to dig in! My salmon was so good! It was perfectly cooked! No raw spots in the middle, it was flaky and moist. It was a fabulous piece of salmon. The sun dried tomato butter is a fantastic add on to the salmon. I honestly could have polished another piece of fish. The chef that cooked my salmon today needs a raise! My lunch was chef's kiss! My friend enjoyed her lunch and her birthday drink! The outdoor patio was so relaxing. My lunch was also enjoyed. Our server was kind and attentive. I couldn't have asked for a better birthday lunch for my deserving friend. I hope that it won't be another 5+ years till I come back. I will need another plate of salmon with that sun dried tomato butter soon.

This was almost going to be a three-star review, but the food really stole the show. We came here for brunch on the last day of our trip. Every time I searched for the best breakfast or brunch spots, this place kept coming up, so we figured it was worth a visit. When we arrived, about half of the restaurant was empty, yet we were quoted a 15-minute wait. During the hour we spent there, I didn't see any of those empty tables get filled. I understand that some may have been reserved, but it did leave me wondering whether the wait was intended to create the impression of high demand by keeping a line outside.Once we were seated, our order was taken, but the food took another 20-30 minutes to arrive. Thankfully, it was worth the wait. I ordered the Salmon Benedict, while my husband had the Biscuits & Gravy. Both dishes were excellent. The salmon was beautifully smoked, the hollandaise sauce was rich and perfectly balanced, and even the breakfast potatoes were crisped to perfection. The biscuits and gravy were flavorful, hearty, and incredibly satisfying. One surprise was that they didn't have an espresso machine, which felt unusual for a restaurant known for brunch. We settled for orange juice, which tasted more like bottled juice than freshly squeezed. The staff was courteous throughout our visit, though I wouldn't necessarily describe the service as warm or particularly engaging.

The brisket was flavorful, the grits were good, and he substituted a biscuit for toast. Oddly, the biscuit was served completely plain. When I asked a staff member if it normally came with butter or jam, they looked genuinely confused by the question. I eventually just asked for jam, but it felt like a strange interaction. I ordered the Brisket Benedict and the Monte Cristo. The Benedict looked great when it arrived, but one poached egg was perfectly runny while the other was significantly overcooked with a mostly solid yolk. The brisket was dry, the collard greens underneath were dry, and there wasn't enough hollandaise to compensate. The breakfast potatoes were crispy and fine, but nothing memorable. The Monte Cristo was the biggest letdown. When I order a Monte Cristo, I expect something rich, savory, and indulgent. This version was made with bland white bread, the bacon was very soft, and the sandwich lacked the flavor and texture that make a Monte Cristo worth ordering. It looked better than it tasted. Service was pleasant, but no one checked on our table after the food arrived, despite the restaurant not being very busy. Had someone stopped by, I would have mentioned the overcooked egg. Overall, one good dish out of three isn't enough to make me want to return. Based on this visit, I'd give it 3 stars.
