Buffet seems to be the best option
    Paul P.

This place was actually pretty good I thought. Solid buffet with lots of choices and constantly refreshed. I thought the fresh fruit was delicious, coffee was hot, and pretty much anything you were looking for in breakfast was at the buffet. You can order off the menu but for a few bucks more get the buffet. We were served quickly, other places around town had 40 minutes wait times. Place was clean and spacious, good for crowds or large families. I'd visit again!

We came into KJ's today for a late breakfast early lunch. We were immediately greeted and seated. We sat at the 2 person table just as you walk in the restaurant. As we were sitting down and looking at our menus, we saw an employee who looked like he was just a few days out of high school. He was wrapping flatware in a napkin. On a closer look, he is touching the top of the knife, fork and spoon with his fingers and there was definitely multiple touches to each piece before wrapping. Then he rubs his face with his hands. Now this is not your normal itch or discomfort. He starts rubbing his face like he just woke up and got out of bed. Then he yawns like an anime character. Full chin drop, head leans forward and without covering his mouth, he yawned for 5 seconds all over the open flatware tray. That was all I needed to see. I asked for a manager. I discretely pulled the manager aside and spoke with him privately. I didn't want anything from this manager but the reassurance that he'd properly train his employee with better flatware training and more general restaurant education. To my dismay, the manager speaks with this uneducated employee and alerts him to my complaint. So what does the kid do? He goes right back in the flatware pile and starts touching every piece of flatware by the tip of the fork, knife and spoon. Now it's almost intentional as I can tell. That was it for us, we asked for our check and we were out of there. If the manager doesn't take some very good health advice from a customer, then I guess it's time to find another place to dine. I tried to do the right thing, but KJ's management team felt differently about the whole thing. I wasn't aware KJ's was so great that they can ignore their customers and the health concerns for myself and for the good of others. Think long and hard before going to eat at KJ's. They need a bit more help at the GM and entry level positions. This GM lacked any interest at all in helping make this health concern go away. It seems like he encouraged it. So sad! Last but not least, the crispy hash browns we ordered were freezer burnt. They do not use fresh potatoes for their hash browns. They tasted horrible!

Sadly Kjs is no longer what it was Nothing scratch.. Everything Sisco and frozen.. Cheapest quality items they could find.. I was so shocked! Even the salad bar quality has gone down and you would think with Sizzler closing they would boost the salad bar.. Add in impatient rude service, raw foods, & just overall lack of feeling welcomed anymore be a bit before we go back.. & I would not recommend if you have small children to come after how we were treated tonight!

Our server, MJ, did a really great job taking care of us. She was nice, friendly, helpful, and attentive. Our daughter had the Unicorn sushi roll with a side of edamame, my wife had a bowl of clam chowder and the shrimp scampi, and I had the fish and chips (cod; they also offer salmon and halibut, but the halibut, which I would have liked, was double the price at $38). For dessert, we shared the key lime pie. My wife said the clam chowder was OK, but more potatoes than clams. She did like her scampi. Our daughter liked the sushi roll. And, I liked the beer battered cod with the tartar sauce, and their fries were nicely seasoned and fairly crispy ( a little crispier would have been nice). The key lime pie had a rougher texture; I like it more creamy. Still good, though. I liked the exterior of the building. Red brick, arched windows that have a Mediterranean feel, and an exterior staircase that gives a bit of an industrial vibe. I thought it would be a little more upscale inside, but it is more basic wood tables and booths. There is a patio area, and it looks like there is an upstairs patio or dining area as well. All in all, a good first experience. We will definitely return.

Of course they had an extensive wine menu, but even though we were both underage there were many options for us. My girls strawberry lemonade was pretty tasty. We made a reservation, so we were seated pretty quickly. The folks were so nice, the ambiance was pretty chill, having dairy queen as a general date spot this was a wonderful treat for us both. We ordered an appetizer of cheese bread. I thought it was pretty good quality, a little high price, bur I expected that because it's a higher end restaurant. Our entree's took a bit of time, but it was to be expected the place wasn't empty. I think we waited somewhere between 15 to 30 minutes after we finished our bread. But when they came, it was worth the wait. I ordered a 14 oz new york strip. My family raises their own beef, so steak is nothing new to us. It was so good, I took a piece home to share with my family, and everyone agreed, it was fantastic. My girl had the rotisserie chicken, falling off the bone delicious, Colonel Sanders needs to step up his game. Another thing I can say, I find usually in high end restaurants I find myself still hungry afterwords, not here, I was completely satisfied with my meal. We ordered dessert, it was the vanilla bean something or other, don't eat fancy so I don't quite know these things. Here comes my only complaint, the sugar coating tasted a bit like burnt coffee, but was still delicious and we ate the whole thing. Before she brought it out, our server asked about the occasion. She took a picture of us with our dessert, which had writing in strawberry sauce, "happy anniversary". Like I said, we don't eat fancy often, especially because we feel unwelcome in many places with as young as we are (18 and 19), but this place made both me and my girl feel special, thank you land and ocean. I cut our faces out for privacy, she took a good picture don't worry about that.

Especially if I didn't enjoy it the first time. My family wanted Italian, I threw out a handful of joints. Of course I suggested il Sugo and I'm so disappointed that I did. My MIL made a reservation for 10. The last time I was in, we were actually comfortably seated with the 10 of us. We weren't crowded. It was lovely. This time, we were so congested. Our table was up against another two groups behind us. It was so hard to get in and out of. They had the sliding doors open so it was hot, crowded and congested. Not a pleasant way to dine. Our server got our orders started. The last time we were here, my husband got the seafood pasta and it was spicy. The shrimp pasta listed heat but not the seafood. After our server clarifying the difference few the two marinara sauces, they truly screwed up on my husband's plate the last time we were here. So today, my husband ordered the chicken parm with Alfredo sauce in his pasta. Making sure it was the right marinara. I got the meatballs again and my daughter ordered the filet mignon pasta. While we were waiting for our food, the busser, assistant, expo (whomever she was) cleared out our small plates. We didn't order any appetizers but the server said bread was coming. May I ask why you would clear out the small plates when bread is coming? We literally had bread crumbs all over the table cause there was nothing catching them. Texas Roadhouse, Longhorn Steakhouse, Luciano's, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Corso, Bittercreek, Stardust all have little plates out for their guests..... it's humorous you pull them. My meatballs were the same as last time, good. My husband's noodles were overly drenched with sauce. My daughter barely got any pasta in her 30 dollar plate. You can't label a pasta dish a pasta dish if there's no pasta in it. Especially if it's damn near 30 dollars. My youngest got the kids chicken Alfredo for her meal. Again, all chicken and no pasta. Kids would rather have the pasta vs the chicken. 15 bucks for a kid's meal with no pasta. I'm rather embarrassed that I even suggested this place. Thank goodness my family is more easy going than I am but we did share the same disappointments. Serve pasta in your pasta dishes. Your bigger bowls to deceive your customers that they are getting a lot is a lie. If you're going to charge 30 bucks for pasta, make sure your customers get their value. Leave your small plates for your guests. We don't want bread crumbs all over our laps and table. Make sure your chefs know the difference between your two marinara sauces. God forbid another guest has to suffer for your screw up.
