Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and spinach with a side of potatoes

We had an enjoyable time for their Mother's Day brunch. We were seated outside and it was an adorable area. I had the Fennel & Frisée which had a delicious orange vinaigrette, however overall this was too bitter for my taste. Their eggs Benedict was delicious with the poached eggs being cooked perfectly! They had a twist with smoked salmon and spinach that heightened the dish. Dessert was a London Fog cake with a super sweet and light lavender Swiss meringue. We had tasty Bloody Mary drinks and good service.

There are no 5 star restaurants in Shepherdstown, best as I can tell. But if you are looking for a quiet, comfortable setting with excellent service and properly prepared (if not spectacular) food, with maybe a nice cocktail or bottle of wine, then this is definitely the place.

Loved the ambience in this historic French bistro, they have an incredible garden patio. The food is excellent, I had the French dip sandwich and could have drunk the entire bowl of sauce, it was that good! They have a delicious brunch menu as well, definitely consider getting the biscuits. Portions aren't the largest but I will be coming back for sure.

Excellent choice this afternoon for lunch. It was a beautiful day so we decided to sit outside. We didn't know what to expect as this was our first time dining here. We walked to through the front of the restaurant and outside. What a very peaceful and relaxing view. We sat in the garden are and had a very delicious lunch. The service was top notch and the food was excellent. We were able to enjoy food from the Spring Menu. Look forward to trying more delicious menu options here.

After a long day of exploring Antietam and being drizzled on at Harper's Ferry we were looking for a nicely prepared meal. We were a walk in party of 2 on a Saturday and were seated right away. Although Bistro 112 doesn't seem like a 'fancy' restaurant we were probably a little under dressed and looking a little rough, but no one seemed to mind. Service was nicely timed and very friendly. I got the filet and my husband got the steak frites. Both were cooked as ordered and delicious. We split the seasonal cheesecake which was a maple bourbon and that was delicious and unexpectedly light, not dense and heavy like I was expecting. Will definitely come back if we're in the area in the future.

They offer an economical 3 course meal prior to the catf shows. We enjoyed the gazpacho soup which is zesty and a great choice for this hot summer day. Then I had chicken with a side salad that was seasoned well and cooked perfectly to keep it moist. My wife went with beaded flounder, potato salad and lettuce salad that was equally well done. My dessert was flourless chocolate cake and she got strawberry shortcake. Both great finishes to the meal. Very reasonably priced so an excellent meal at the right price. Put them on your list the next time you dine in Shephardstown.

Stopped in for brunch. Located in an old building, you dine in various small rooms on several floors. Nicely decorated. Tables are very close together- a fact that will prevent me from coming back for dinner as I hate crowded seating The person at the front door was less than welcoming. Our Server was pleasant, though overall service was slow. Overall, food was just ok, given the atmosphere, I had higher expectations - Home fries were incredibly salty, and very crisp. Poach egg was close to hard boiled, english muffin very tough to cut, french toast was barely coated with egg, and the jam biscuit was surprisingly tiny. What we ate: Eggs Benedict with hone fries French toast Jam biscuit Mimosa My rating rationale  +1 Service +.5 Food~Taste/flavor/quality +1 Presentation +1 Atmosphere/vibe +.5 Value

    Smoked Gouda burger

Bistro 112, what looks to once be a home, is presently a charming French restaurant in historic downtown Shepherdstown. My sister and I went here for lunch after visiting Antietam. We had the soup du jour, which was a butternut squash soup, and the smoked gouda burger. The soup was great for a cold winter day, and the burger was tasty. It was an affordable light meal. The staff was friendly, and the ambiance and setting made us feel like we were dining in someone's living room. Overall, it was an enjoyable lunch.

Cranberry Creme Brulee that was out of this world.

The food was delicious. Service was superb. Brianna was attentive to all our needs. She suggested the cranberry creme brulee for dessert. It was fantastic.

It has a well-deserved top notch reputation. Given the restaurant likely seeks opportunities for improvement, the following details are offered..... 1) Hard seats, though padded, became uncomfortable over time. By the end of our two - hour seating, we were more than eager to get up and go. An unnecessary distraction. We'll bring our own set cushion next time. 2) Water glasses smelled off. It's not the water as the odor remained in glasses used for bottled water. Based on experience, we guessed a dirty dishwasher was to blame. 3) A pesky fly was with us the entire meal. Perhaps it was more than one fly, yet it was surprising for indoor seating. A minor distraction, but surprising. We'll be back.

The Brasserie, though less formal, is equally as fine and equally as tasty. Plus, you have the option of sitting outside either on the patio or in the inside/outside covered area.  Wherever you sit, you will be happy and very well fed.  The evening we dined, we tried to hold back from eating too much of the super yummy garlic toast and cottage cheese that is always brought to the table at the start of your meal.  It is super good and so tempting to keep on munching but there is so much other good food on the way.  The Caesar salad is crisp and the portion is big enough to share if you are guarding room for the amazing grand marnier souffle which you order at the start of you repas to savor at the end.  My favorite entrée is always the bouillabaisse.  The broth is so amazing and it is filled with seafood. Another favorite is the duck (confit de canard) that is a special on Sunday. Again, save some space for the souffle which is served tableside and worth every calorie.

The restaurant is charming and soothing with well-spaced tables and old school music tinkling in the background. Service was relaxed and friendly. The food outstanding. We started with crab bisque, French onion soup, and charcuterie board. The bisque was creamy and delicately flavored (no Old Bay!). The French onion soup was beautifully rendered - beefy broth full of onions, served with a toasted baguette slice covered in cheese. The charcuterie board was generous, with a nice selection of cheese and meat, grapes, plus wonderfully toasted baguette slices. The only criticism is the pistachios were under seasoned. Entrees didn't disappoint. The veal Francaise was as soft as butter, with a lovely white wine sauce. The accompanying pasta with caramelized onion was amazing - sweet and savory onions coating thin spaghetti. Two of us got the rack of lamb. Wow. Perfectly cooked to medium rare with a wonderful, peppery crust. The au gratin potatoes were creamy and unctuous. Our granddaughter got the fettuccine Alfredo and was very happy. We didn't try any of their cocktails; the restaurant has an extensive wine list and two of tried one of their Bordeaux which was excellent. During dinner one of the owners came by our table to refill water and ask about our meal. He was quite charming, and very proud of his restaurant and inn. Several of the reviews of the restaurant cited slow service. We waited a long time for our drinks (my husband had to flag down our server), but after that the food came out at a good pace. We were too full to try dessert. Overall, a lovely evening in our new favorite restaurant in downtown Frederick.

The fried oysters were light and NOT greasy at all. I liked them without the sauce but we kept the sauce for the fresh fried potato chips. Which were amazing! The charcuterie plate was full to the brim with so many goodies (see pictures). The duck appetizer was topped off so high and drizzled with the most delectable refreshing vinegrette. Really loved the apple with the duck. Overall all a great meal with the family.
