The interior of the restaurant is simple metro tech. Large glass windows provide sunlight and an urban style view. The food is extraordinary. I have yet to be disappointed by a specialty salad or superb entree. The ingredients are fresh and delicious. The Italian Lemon Cake is so good. You'll want to order two. I highly recommend the Luna. Good food and attentive staff After walking around and discovering this place we decided to give them a try one night. It was a Friday and there was only one other table seated. The guy who sat us down got us drinks right away and helped us decide what to order. We had the Caesar salad that was fresh and delicious. Chicken parmigiana was good. Salmon was also good. Overall great portion size. The chocolate torte was very rich and satisfying. Overall great experience. We will have to come back to try the brunch menu. read more

Delicious & Satisfying! This is the best food I have ever had in Oberlin. We had 2 different types of salad. Both were super fresh with amazing ingredients: fruits, cheese, lettuce, beets etc. The Gnocchi was superb. 2 Servings of that! Our main meat dish was beef with Chimichurri sauce. I never had that sauce but will again! Roasted potatoes - very good. For dessert we had chocolate torte. This was a real torte. Not a disguised brownie or pie. It was high-yield chocolate, dense and rich. But not overly sweet. Highly suggest this if you like and appreciate good chocolate. Nothing was over spiced or salty. All food tasted homemade. It's hard to find food this good. Why America loves hamburgers and fries so much I'll never know. This was at a catered event so I cannot speak on service or atmosphere at the restaurant. read more

This was our third trip to Bistro Bella Luna. The two dinners we had there were great. Pappardelle w/bolognese I took half home and had very good leftovers even. We've tried the Lamb shank and tortellini. Today we had brunch. A very nicely made frittata with fresh spinach, zucchini, tomato's and goat cheese. The server was excellent, very polite and attentive but not overly so Fried green tomatoes were very good, not quite like a good Southern restaurant but close enough. Honestly we didn't even eat here, I am only commenting on the staff when we called and I believe the owner when we got there. We were passing through looking for something to eat, it looked good and the reviews weee decent. I called to make sure they were open and asked if they had anything for kids and was told they could make a grilled cheese, which was fine but she wasn't terribly nice. When we got there, before even a hello a guy said we are closing in 40 minutes and we are out of just about everything on the menu. He then walked away to deal with something. Needlessly to say we left. It was nice to see Oberlin and if you are in the area Arb's is a nice lunch place down the street with lovely staff. read more

The dishes felt very "home-style" and healthy. Would recommend onion soup and pesto pasta. The mussels and shrimp just slightly fishy but okay. The silverware feels really rough and a little tiny and feels like it was stolen from the school dining hall. Our waiter seemed really new and seemed to be having a hard time. read more

Somehow I see I left out that the food is fresh and delicious!!! The breakfasts are great as are the salads.Have not eaten there for dinner but would not hesitate to try. They are celebrating one year in July. Hopefully they will be around a long time! read more

My husband and I had two wonderful meals here. One was in mid-April (2023) and the second visit was for Sunday Brunch on May 7, 2023. My husband swooned over the delicious lamb shanks he had for dinner in April and the walleye I had for Sunday Brunch was extra special. Instead of the traditional pan fried version of walleye, the fish was prepared by either poaching or steaming. It was tender and melt in your mouth delicious. The wait staff is very courteous and professional. The restaurant seems to be very team based and committed to sharing their love of service to the customers. Highly recommend - especially if you are in Oberlin to visit the Allen Memorial Art Museum, since it is very close. read more

My new breakfast place; quiet,sophisticated vibe. Great server, and where else can I get bananas foster french toast? Returned for lunch with my wife the next day. Inventive delicious choices, with a continental flare. High quality fresh ingredients. Has outdoor seating, some staff wear masks. Looking forward to dinner there soon. read more

Tried this bistro yesterday. So pleasantly surprised. I had Butternut squash ravioli with a goat cheese sauce and a side salad with such a tasty dressing, honey lavender. I asked for the dressing recipe, the owner came out, gave me the recipe and some lavender. How nice of him. My husband had the steak with chimichirri (?) It came with scalloped potatoes and vegetable of the day, asparagus (usually and up cost anywhere else) he really enjoyed it. And the prices are very reasonable. Going to go back often. Don't know why it is only coming up four stars, I rate it five stars read more

Fresh choices made with fresh ingredients by a devoted restaurateur. Visited many times and have NEVER been disappointed.

We just had their buffet dinner service, but without our knowing, we had to pay not by person, but by plate. Just wishing for a little more transparency with costs. read more

Best food in Oberlin, and it's not even close. If they had a liquor license they would likely attract more business. Reasonable pricing, somewhat limited menu. They might be out of some items at times but every dish I have tried has been excellent. Bravo! read more

You could easily drive by & not know it's there. Staff was attentive and service was good (it was early on a Friday evening). Had the veggie flatbread app.($9) Good amount & variety of veggies; it was good, not good to the level I'd order it again (but not bad). Had short rib entree ($18) - meat was very tender, sauce was good. Came with something similar to scalloped potatoes & asparagus. Menu is somewhat limited - they did have a daily special. I will wait & see if menu expands any before deciding if I'm going back. Only two other items on the menu that appealed to me. read more

We saw this on the way to our goddaughter's cross country meet at the college. My wife looked it up and decided it was a good place to go with our friends that live in the area. We arrived the other night to two tables eating. We sat and looked at the menu for a bit. There was a young waiter and what seemed to be the owner/cook. The menu is not large, so the hope is, the things on the menu are delicious. We tried to order the sausage and peppers, but they were out. My wife ordered the polenta. Just plain, store bought polenta , cut and fried. The fried green tomatoes were nothing special at all. Little flavor and breaded fair. My buddy and I tried the French onion soup. The onions could have used to have been caramelized longer as they were not soft and rich like I make. The depth of flavor was lacking. The salt level was almost too much. The kicker was the milky, white cheese that was melted by the heat of the soup and not a broiler/ salamander. No color or chew at all. Next came dinner. I saw the spaghetti and meatballs come out and decided to try. I never do this at any restaurant. Since the chicken parm listed on the website was absent, I decided to take the leap. I love meatballs. Unfortunately, these were way salty. Possibly the Parmesan cheese in combination made the salty. I asked my wife to try it. She got the same bite of egg shell that I did. She and my buddy both agreed. Salty. I didn't eat them nor take them home. My wife had the chicken Marsala. It too was on the salty side. My buddy had the short rib and his wife the steak chimichuri and both liked them. The house potatoes were good. Prices, cleanliness, portions were all encouraging. However, my going home hungry was not. I can't fault the young man waiting tables, as I'm sure they were fortunate to have him. We've been to Bistro Bella Luna once for brunch( Eggs Benedict were wonderful; hollandaise luxurious), once for lunch ( loved the Sicilian Turkey Club sandwich and Beet Salad) and last week brought friends from Cleveland out there for dinner ( Beef Short Rib was fabulous melt-in -your-mouth, the lasagna special was great; lemon-spinach sauce on the cod was terrific and well-balanced). Very attentive service, much-appreciated courtesy visit to our table from the Chef/Owner, Rob. Dessert was killer bread pudding with house made caramel sauce, not that we needed it - it was delicious! We just couldn't pass it up. You rarely see it on menus these days. Well worth the drive to Oberlin! Welcome addition to that community! read more
