Kiedrowski's Bakery, located in Amherst, Ohio, has been on my want to visit list for a long time. I finally got the chance when I was already in the area one Saturday afternoon in August 2026. There isn't a ton of parking available as it is in a small strip mall. I waited about 5 minutes in line 6 people long and decided on what to order from their dozens upon dozens of yummy looking options while waiting. I was a bit put off from the politically charged things inside but minded my own business and ordered a lemon white chocolate cookie ($0.75) to eat now and one of their famous Polish pastries, a "Snoogle", to take home and eat later ($4). A Snoogle is a polish puff pastry with cream cheese and a vanilla butter bean glaze that was invented and patented here! They also sell lots and lots of packzi's during Fat Tuesday every year as well. Cookie was a bit dry but it was cheap and a small enough serving to not feel sinful. The snoogle was definitely worth making a pit stop for! It is a very unique pastry amd it is also massive - bigger than my forearm for sure. It is a very messy treat so don't eat it in your car. I loved this pastry and can see why it is so famous! If you find yourself in small town Lorain County, it's worth stopping at this bakery and trying a snoggle or something else yourself! The line was out the door Sunday morning at 11:30. Employee was trying to hold the door open for people but we were wishing she would get back there & help w/ orders. They are rather slow taking orders. A couple did leave b/c line was barely moving. Plus people ask about everything type. The snoogles ($4) are great & glazed croissants too. We also got day old bag of donuts for 1.50 plus a loaf of swirled Rye bread for same $. Fritters are a favorite too. Prices are ok on most things. Lobby is a little tight & cluttered with the ropes. Review long overdue!! This fabulous cake was ordered in Jan 2019 for my milestone birthday over the phone from Florida. My husband knew I wanted a "groovy 70's" theme for my birthday cake and the decorator hit it out of the ball park!! Not only was it delicious but the design was better than I could have imagined. I went here because it was part of the Lorain County Cupcake Crawl. Now I did not actually get a cupcake, but I did get a couple pastries and I must say this was probably my favorite place out of the 5 business on the trail that I visited. Just simple and tasty. I got this thing called a snoogle. It's like a foot long light pastry filled with sweet cream and a light glaze on top. They cut it in half for free. This seemed very similar to their cheese danish I got, just a different shape. Also tried the glazed croissant. I enjoyed everything and at $5.85 I think Kiedrowski's is pretty affordable for a special treat. It is a tiny room you walk into though, and there was a line clear up to the door. About four staff members behind the counter helping customers though so not a long wait. I did take off one star because the lady who helped me was a bit gruff. If it's my first time at a business I like to say that and ask what the most popular items are or what the salespersons favorite thing to eat it and this lady could not have care less. My interaction with staff is just as important as the food served. Thankfully the customers behind me were friendly and suggested a few things. I think you should definitely make a drive out to Amherst on a Saturday morning and check this place out. ****Stopped in a second time. Loved the blueberry scone, they usually are on the hard side when I have encountered them, but this was fluffy and moist inside. Kiedrowski's was my first and only choice when deciding on where to get my wedding cake made. My husband is from out of town and had no Kiedrowski's experience (poor thing!), so he was happily surprised when we went to our cake tasting. We devoured a whole tray of flavors, fillings and frostings while Polka music played in the background. We actually live out of state, but the Kiedrowski's staff was awesome to work with while planning for our wedding day! I was able to send them pictures of what I wanted and they were able to capture my vision perfectly! We ended up choosing half almond cake, half lemon cake with the traditional buttercream frosting. The overall cake was more beautiful than I could ever imagine. The cake was so moist and flavorful! Everyone raved over the almond cake, it was a HUGE hit! We try hard not to buy baked goods because of the calories, but sometimes we treat ourselves, especially when it is paczki season. We ordered 2 cream filled, which were great and full of cream. We also had rose ones which weren't filled as much as the cream, but were still good. We can't remember what the other 2 were and since there really wasn't any filling, we didn't really enjoy them.
