As a true southern man who has had rainbow trout come across his plate more times than can be counted, this ranks up in the top 3 best ever dishes. We went on a Monday with another couple and our toddler. We needed space for a high chair. They tried to seat us at a four top that would block another occupied table with the high chair. We asked them if there was a better table out of respect to the other table. (The entire other half the partitioned section was empty.) They moved us to that section to seat us at another tiny four top right next to a slightly larger four top table that would allow for the high chair to fit comfortably and all five of us to have a side due to the table's shape and position. We made do and the toddler and I shared one side of the tiny table. We were cramped and it was not necessary. We contemplated moving on our own to the larger four top, but didn't want to be a bother at the time so we made do. Strike 1. We received the coupons in the mail over the weekend for $10 off "per customer". We totally get that it wouldn't be per person, but figured it would be allowed to be used per couple since both couples were paying separately. We were told it was per table despite the wording on the coupon. We got penalized because we sat at the same table instead of two separate tables. Then the awkward conversation of who's going to use the coupon and who's going to not use theirs came into play. We let the other couple use it. We could have argued with asking for a manager, but we didn't want to cause an issue. Ok, so strike 2. Since the other couple was using their coupon it also meant that we couldn't use the Monday night special of "kids eat free." So now we are double penalized. We went in figuring we would be able to use one deal-either the coupon or kids night, but now we couldn't use either deal because we were dining with another couple paying separately. Strike 3. The waitress said fries weren't an up charge specifically when I asked about the seasoned fries being an option or not. She said all fries no matter the type were an option instead of chips. She later returned and said, "They just changed it THIS WEEK to being an upcharge." Really, this "week"? It's Monday. What luck. No surprising given the way things were going. Ok, so chips it was then. Strike 4. Both females had ice tea. Our drinks were filled once the entire dinner, yet my husband's Diet Coke was refilled 3-4 times without asking. Our two tea refills were in "to go" cups since it wasn't until the end of the meal that we were able to ask for more tea. They were empty since my husband's second refill. We kept figuring that she'd bring out our refills, but never noticed. Strike 5. What began as us doing something "fun" on a Monday night, turned into a $40+ fiasco and disappointing experience. We have had good experiences in the past, but tonight was a let down and would have been better just staying home since we came and left with our $10 coupon and $40 less in our wallets. read more

Everything I have eaten here has been amazing! The chicken with the crawfish sauce, brussel sprouts, and Parmesan orzo is one of my favorite dishes! My husband loves the shrimp and eggplant pasta! Bistro Byronz is quaint and classy, and a great place for a cocktail or comfort food. There's always something on the menu that is just perfect. The bleu cheese chips are a delicious snack to start with. The salads are fresh and tasty. I've enjoyed the entrees such as the pot roast which is true comfort food and very flavorful. The cocktails have always been creative and delicious. The service is friendly. Good food. Enjoyable atmosphere. Major issue is during COVID pandemic, one week after phase 1 opening, about a third of servers, no bartenders, and no busboys,wearing masks. I had to request my server to wear one, which she then did with good spirits. The manager sets bad example by not wearing one. They either don't understand, or don't care, that masks are worn to protect the customers from spread of the virus. Very disappointed in the managemant and will not return during the pandemic. Today's lunch was the Lump Crab Meat and Asparagus Salad. It came with mixed greens, dried cranberries, mandarin orange segments, lump crab meat, grape tomatoes and grilled asparagus. I added ranch to mine (all Southern ladies love ranch, right ). I really enjoyed the freshness of of. The only thing I think was that the lettuce was wet so when I added the dressing it made the salad really wet. I also ended up finding a couple of shells in the crab but can you really ever get ALL the shells out? I loved the char on the asparagus. It added lots of character to the salad. The pops of sweetness from the oranges and cranberries was a good balance for all the other ingredients. I think overall a pretty good salad. read more

This place looks like a remodeled diner. I love the atmosphere inside. I had the reddish tacos and the person with me had the steak. The reddish tacos were decent and the corn with it was phenomenal. The wife and I were looking for a new place and decided on Bistro Byronz due to Yelp reviews giving it 4.5 stars. Went there on a Saturday night and found it to be appealing and clean in appearance. The staff was nice and attentive. Service was prompt and we went straight to a good table. First red flag was small water glasses upside down on the table. Yuk, I did not want to drink from a glass rim that was in contact with the table top. We ordered the Spinach & Artichoke dip for starters . The dip was watery and was served with over cooked brown potato chips. Not the best. The house Pino Noir and mixed drink was very good though. I ordered the Delmonico ribeye with brabants. Had to Google that one, no description on the menu. This dish was excellent. However, the salad it came with had watery and tasteless ranch dressing. The wife ordered an eggplant dish she said was very good. We also tried the peanut butter cookie dough egg rolls with ice cream. Was not very tasty. After a few bites, we just stopped. Overall, the meal was decent with some minor issues. We would most likely not go back because there are plenty of other really good restaurants in the area. I believe three stars is fair. My husband and I came here on a Monday night and didn't have to wait for a table. The atmosphere was nice but the food was very disappointing. For the appetizer we ordered the spinach and artichoke dip which was okay but the potato chips that came with it were bleh. Like who serves spinach dip with POTATO CHIPS. Gross. For his entree he ordered the steak sandwich which was just some average steak topped with a huge pile of onions and mushrooms and mayo on cold, stale bread. I ordered the chicken salad which was the worst thing I have ever eaten y'all. I could've just bought some from Walmart instead. It was basically warm, sweaty, watered down store-bought chicken salad on a bed of plain dry lettuce with some pathetic tomatoes and lemon wedges!?? Like y'all are not fancy stop trying to be! On top of all that one of the hostesses was literally bussing tables while people were still finishing up their meals. That just made people so uncomfortable. And the waitress they gave us had only been on the job one day and did not know what she was doing. The whole place just seemed very unprofessional and like a huge rip off. read more

This place is the best! It's in an amazing location and the food is great. Tuesday's are fantastic with their Martini Tuesday's with $3 martinis. Their pot roast is good, their salads are divine, and their cheese chips are so good! They have the best owners and wait staff. The only downfall is that their place is a little small. They should buy the closed down juice bar next door to expand their location so they can have a bigger bar area. Didn't offer any suggestions or recite the specials, and only when asked did he tell us of specials including rainbow trout with sweet potatoes and asparagus. We both swear the "rainbow trout" was actually salmon and I can assure you that the potatoes were white. However, all the food was good. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Mandeville. The atmosphere is great, and I love that I can choose to sit inside or outside. The daily drink specials are some of the best around, and the drinks are delicious. Their specialty martinis are amazing. I highly recommend the Lemon Drop and Cucumber Lime martinis. I've never had a dish I didn't like here. Their blue cheese chips are to die for, and if you're not super hungry but want a well-rounded meal, the blue cheese filet with asparagus and potato cake off the tapas menu is fantastic. The food is consistently good, and I always get good service there, too. Oh, and if you like peanut butter, you will want to try the fried peanut butter roll dessert. Amazing. read more

This adorable gem of a restaurant seems like it was airlifted from a cool corner in New Orleans and planted here. The atmosphere is great with attention to details. Service is friendly and attentive. However the best part of this cool Bistro is the food. Satisfying and full of flavor like my Grandma might have whipped up in her day with just a bit more sophistication (and Granny could cook, let me tell you!) I love the pot roast and the chicken with artichoke and spinach over pasta. My husband had pork chops over rice and gravy which came with a house salad.
