I recently went to Bistro Di Bufala, in Visalia California and It's one of the best Italian restaurants in town.  All of the food was served hot and made with fresh ingredients. The hamburger was especially my favorite, it was ground steak with fresh vegetables and their own flavorful seasoning, with a side of perfectly seasoned fries. The environment was peaceful and cool, perfect nighttime dinner date place. The staff added to the cool environment with their amazing care and service. Apart from great food and people, the prices were reasonable for the quality of the food. If you're ever in downtown Visalia make sure you check out this restaurant. read more

A beautiful restaurant off the Main Street, with indoor and outdoor seatings. I was greeted immediately by the bar tender and was served quickly. I was impulsive and orders the Seafood Pascatore, the price was $46. The food came within 10 minutes, its fresh, thick hand cut pasta in a delightful rose sauce. The sauce has chucks of fish swimming in it, topped with grilled shrimp and grilled lobster. I absolutely enjoyed every bite of it. I will be back. I hope they rotate in some Carbonara pasta dish. read more

Walking into this place is deceiving because at first you don't expect the restaurant to be as magnificent as it is. We were able to have dinner in the speakeasy below. We had the pleasure of having Derrick and one of the managers serving us. They were absolutely phenomenal, between their personalities and abilities to describe food and cocktails. We couldn't have asked for better service. The appetizers were tasty and perfect proportions, the entrees we had were delicious and fulfilling, the pistachio cake was perfection. They were extremely busy, but our waitress was very kind and did what she could while the kitchen tried to keep up. We ordered an app that took 45 minutes to come out, and our entrees came out 20 minutes later. For an Italian restaurant the burger & fries were pretty good. My dish was served lukewarm at best with little flavor my wife's Carbonara pizza however WAS MOUTH WATERING DELICIOUS!The waitress was amazing she noticed that I had only taken 2 bites of my meal and asked if I was satisfied. I explained that the pasta was served lukewarm and flavorless and she promptly removed my meal from the ticket. I realize that because of the quality of my wife's cooking I am hard to please but she uses San Marzano Tomatoes in her home made pasta dishes and ALL of her pasta dishes far surpasses what I ate at Bistro Di Bufala. 3 star experience. Food was great in taste, but there was mold in the blueberries. It was a separate side of them. I told the waiter, he did not apologize or comp anything. He just said "well we threw them away." I brought it up a second time kindly when we got the check and he dismissed it. To have mold on your food is completely unacceptable, clearly their kitchen is not maintained. Tasty meal - but might make you sick! Side note- they auto add 20% tip for parties over six and purposely don't tell you aside from tiny print on the receipt. read more

Great find in Visalia. This place has a little bit of everything . Italian dishes, burgers, steaks and pizza. Full bar and plenty of wines You get a real quality meal here. Service is a great and the atmosphere here is perfect for a date night. My steak was cooked perfectly and the sauce which I'm going to assume was made from scratch had amazing flavor to it. The 3 salami pizza was my favorite. I'm a huge whiskey guy and my go to is old fashion. I will say my drink was so-so. Service was great! Personally I preferred the outdoor sitting. The location is awesome. I will say the restaurant is clean. The staff are very friendly and nice. The kitchen is fast getting the food out. The reason for the 3 stars: the food. I really wanted to love it. I liked it. It's average. We ordered a pizza and a salad the first time. The pizza dough lacked flavor. The toppings were skimpy. I was disappointed. On the second visit we tried pastas. I had the Calamari with pasta. My spouse had the Alfred with shrimp. The calamari steak was on the smaller side. I had seen other pictures on yelp and my calamari was 1/2 the size of some of those. My wife added prawns to her pasta. Up charge was $10 for 4 prawns. Someone at the table ordered a few appetizers. The lemon sauce for the calamari and the Alfredo sauce were tasty. The servings were also skimpy for the cost. Not sure we will be back. read more

I recently had Bistro make the cakes for my wedding. I used pistachio cake, chocolate cake, vanilla bean, coconut and the lemon raspberry. All were perfect and everybody raved about it! My friends and I came to this establishment on a Saturday evening. When we entered the restaurant we were ignored for a while which was okay because clearly they were in the thick of the dinner rush. Instead of being greeted with a simple hello we were served with a "do you have reservations?" Being our first time visiting the area we weren't aware we needed reservations. When we let the waiter know we did not have reservations she immediately went to the next people and started helping them out. Then we got completely ignored. After a while a gentleman told us we could be seated outside. It was completely empty in the patio besides a couple finishing their meal so we were thankful we were able to be seated! The waitress (Violet C.) ignored our table for about 30 minutes and even the couple sitting outside who finished paying noticed and said something to us about how we were being ignored. We ended up having to go inside and asked to be helped. When she came out she didn't even give us menus and asked us what we wanted to order. It was so awkward. It definitely seemed like we were a bother to her and I felt so embarrassed to ask for anything (like napkins, salt/pepper, crushed red pepper, straws, a refill). The food was very good but she also never added the shrimp to my order so I had no "meat" option, just lots of pasta but it was very very good! The food wasn't good enough to outweigh the horrible customer service however, so I won't be back! read more

This place is not some fine dining so do not over dress. Wearing some casual comfortable clothes will just do. It is a nice place to go with friends or family to do some catching up, but I would not recommend this place for special celebrations. The vibe is nice and calm but the place is small and can sometimes be very busy, so do expect to have some wait time. They do accept reservations so you can also do that. They do have indoor and outdoor seating too. So if you do decide to sit indoor, ask the server to seat you away from the bar to avoid getting bumped by people at the bar. So, we had a reservation for 7pm but didn't get seated until 7:25pm. We did talk to the staff there about why we were waiting so long even with a reservation. Now everything that happens after I'm not sure if it's them not being good at their jobs or if they were being petty. It took about 30-40 minutes just to get the drink we ordered, the drinks barely beat the food to the table. My food got to the table quicker than the beer that I ordered. Everyone's pasta seemed undercooked and chewy, and the chicken and lobster were over cooked. The lobster felt like I was chewing into a well done steak. Again I'm not sure if they were just too busy that they were not able to handle that amount of people or they wanted to retaliate against us for telling them something in the beginning. read more

Food was amazing. Fresh and quality ingredients that are locally sourced with specials that are definitely worth trying. The bar is excellent, and drink specials are top tier. The ambiance is not pretentious, but fitting for the over all vibe. The service was so attentive and welcoming from beginning to end. Will definitely be going again soon.
