This place is right in Downtown Viselia. The moment you walk in you get hit with this cool Euro pub vibe. I can see myself come here for a drink after work. Today? Lunch. The bar tender was very attentive, get me seated and go my drink in no time. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. It came very fast. It is a nice piece of breast with deep grilled mark with sauce and grilled mushrooms. Lettuce, tomato, onions on the side. When I took my first bite, a nice charred flavor hit me. We came here for lunch on a Wednesday. The menu is really tiny, they have salad, soup, meatballs with bread, a burger and a few other items. The special was the bacon blue cheese burger, and that's what we tried. Unfortunately there are no fries, just bagged chips, side salad or potato salad. However, the meat in this burger was so unique and delicious! There had to be a 1/2lb Patty, so I'm glad we split it.. it was highly seasoned ( in a good way) juicy, and tender. I hate my burger well done, but it was so juicy that it didn't matter! We also tried 2 cocktails; the bjiou, and the bittered sling. Both were refreshingly unique flavor profiles. The bijou has a strong chartreuse backdrop, so only copse this one if you like chartreuse. It was nice & strong though... they don't go cheap on their cocktails here! The bittered sling is sweet, rich and the bitters really come through. The Space Dust IPA was in a cold glass ( I LOVE that detail), and we spired it with our delicious burger. You're doing yourself a disservice if you reside in the vicinity of Visalia or are traveling through to not come to the Celler Door. The cocktails rival anything you could get in a major city. The menu is small but tight in that every dish you order comes out to perfection because they don't have to worry about 30 mediocre dishes. As I mentioned above, the menu is tight and shows in the detail and flavor you are getting out of every bite. I have been coming to this venue for over 20 years and know the previous owners and most of the bands that have played there. The latest owners are practicing cancel culture and last night were very rude to my blind friends who were 2 of their best customers. The previous 2 sets of owners always had a table reserved for them when they got there. Now these current owners have created a VIP mentality and won't seat you unless you pay double price. These are blind senior citizens BTW. who have literally spent thousands of dollars here . I suggest not supporting this venue. Crawdaddys will treat you much nicer. Cellar door does not take care of loyal customers. I will never go there again and neither will these long time patrons. They are money hungry and impersonal. My two sisters and I stoped in shortly after 5pm on a Friday afternoon for an early dinner and really enjoyed ourselves. Lots of room, easy to have a conversation without a lot of background noise. The menu is designed for items to be shared so we split a variety of things - asparagus, caprese salad, meatballs and memelas. We stayed for about an hour and a half catching up and never felt rushed to leave. Very relaxing and enjoyable experience. My family and I were headed to downtown Visalia last night to eat, when we had to park a couple blocks away from where we were going to eat. While passing by the Cellar Door, we noticed that the new owners had opened! We decided to give it a try, and we are sure glad we did. We were greeted by friendly staff, and seated in some really comfy chairs amidst a completely relaxing atmosphere and nice background music. The staff was helpful in explaining the family style dishes, and being attentive to us the whole time we were there. The food on the other hand??? ....AMAZING. I didn't even know it was possible to do the things they did to vegetables. Everything was completely delicious, from the radishes and cauliflower, to the roasted asparagus, to the Wagyu steak and leeks. The drinks were amazing, and we can't wait to return. read more

Being a Visalia native I love how this venue was picked back up after it closed. This review I focused around their food as most who come here are for the bar and music venue scene. My wife and I enjoyed a couple selections from their menu. I had the Pork Belly sandwich and my wife the Johnny Cash dog. Both were actually really tasty! The pork belly was very flavorful and paired extremely well with the slaw and pineapple. The sauce served with the fries is like a Sriracha mayo, which is just fabulous. The Johnny cash dog is a loaded polish dog on Hawaiian rolls for the bun. It's just a great little combination of onion straws and bbq sauce with the dog. The bar is fully stocked and I was able to enjoy a Game of Thrones scotch with my dinner. We came before things really picked up, around 6ish. Really enjoyed the quaint atmosphere and watching the band setting up for the night. I hope people check this place out for more than the music venue, as the food and bar is a great aspect! read more

We each chose a dish to share...my favorites were the Coq Vin Blanc, a juicey, tender chicken breast served in a cream sauce flavored with capeers, lemon, garlic and rosemary. Just had dinner here. Their menu has about 10 items total so I was skeptical. We ordered the tomato bisque, memelas, caprese salad, and a chicken dish. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. Very disappointed with this establishment, I'm not sure if it was poor planning or what the deal was. We bought tickets to watch a show on Saturday (Vanessa Rae) We did not have VIP tickets they were all sold out, we just had general admission tickets. Doors opened at 6:30 and show started at 8 pm and ended at 11pm. We were not aware that there would be no food served at the venue and that there would be absolutely no seating for the whole show. We are all in our late 50s and 60s and we had a friend with with a bad back, so there is no way we were going to be there standing all night. We got there early in hopes of getting a good table and enjoying drinks and dinner and to our surprise the doorman said they decided to not serve food and no chairs would be available. This was bad event planning! We have been to many shows at crawdaddys and have never experienced anything like this at a concert.... The tickets should have been more specific, because we would not have purchased them if we knew the situation. Please let people know these important details. read more

Great place for music. A nice stage area, so that nobody in the place has a bad seat. There's a relatively new chef in town; if you live within 100 miles of this restaurant and have not eaten here you're making a HUGE mistake. The dining experience is second to none throughout the valley, possibly the state.
