High ceilings, tasteful and timeless decor, brick walls, open concept kitchen and even real hand towels in the bathroom, this was a nice touch. We were seated in the bar area, Michael was our server for the night. He was very friendly and great at providing recommendations. Our group enjoyed a 3 course meal and thoroughly loved all the foods we sampled. My main course of filet mignon was probably the most tender and delicious steak I've ever had. The garlic mashed potatoes, truffle fries and loaded baked potato were equally delicious. For those who got seafood, the flavors and cook were on point as well. In terms of decor, service and food, 40 West checked all the right boxes. If you are looking to celebrate a special occasion or want to feel like royalty, this is the place to be. Of course, there is a price tag - I found certain items quite expensive for value. Example the burrata appetizer with 3 slices of tomatoes, this was $31. When you add on a main meal or drinks and desert it can easily reach $300 for two people. I am not someone who is used to fine dining so this was a bit out of reach but worth it for a celebration. Dont take dinner reservations at 5:30 if you can't sit us down I was so ready to leave but I was HANGRY ... finally gor seated .. after 30 minutes no water no bread or butter nothing .. no waiter ... 20 minutes had to hunt down a waiter who wasn't even our waiter .. asked to get a sweet cocktail and just ordered our food... We never got our water LOL OUR MEALS came out right away the wedge salad was delicious and the steak was amazing! Our waiter was super abnoxious ! He was Very rude! My cocktail was horrible like dry and extremely strong .. not sweet at all.. I just asked for an amaretto sour instead ... On to the order. We all ordered the same dish, baby back ribs, with fries and coleslaw. Regular price was 24$ each, however, there is a 2 for 28$ special on Sundays. The food wasn't bad and was pretty filling. The baby back ribs were not dry, although I would've enjoyed a bit more tenderness to the meat. My issues from this visit were the following. The first issue was ordering drinks. The waiter just dropped them on the end of the table and we all had to pass them around. We were four so this wasn't a big table; a simple gesture like this can go a long way. The second issue was how fast the order came. I know, i know, quick is good but hear me out. Once we had ordered our food, and I am not kidding right now, we had our dishes within 3 minutes. That's four baby back rib dishes, with fries and coleslaw, within 3 minutes. I am guessing that the ribs/fries were prepared well in advance to accommodate customers ordering the Sunday specials. I believe this is why the ribs were somewhat less tender than expected. My third issue was that we were never asked how we were doing with our meals. Again, a small gesture goes a long way. The waiter had passed our table a couple of times without stopping to ask if everything was to our liking. I don't want to knit pick but I do enjoy a nice dining experience and I expected more from Madisons. I will go back, however, I hope to have a better customer experience next time.

We forgot to mention earlier that we have a birthday celebrant with us, so I asked our awesome waiter if he can provide us anything for the birthday girl. They we're so nice to give her a slice of brownie and ice cream on top with candle lit as well. He sang happy birthday with us. All in all, it was a great experience.
