I came across Ristorante Giovanni's while staying at a hotel nearby and picked the restaurant based on the great Yelp reviews and pictures. Upon arrival I was promptly seated at their outdoor patio and was served complimentary bread and water. I chose the Veal Scallopini with crisp potato cake, fresh spinach and mushroom marsala sauce from the lunch menu. This dish arrived quickly and was very nicely presented. It also smelled so good, mouthwatering good! The veal was thinly sliced and nicely seasoned. The marsala mushroom wine sauce with garlic was one of the best I have ever tasted, and the breaded mashed potatoes were out of this world. I also enjoyed the freshly prepared spinach which went very well with the rest of the dish. Five stars for reasonably priced and exceptionally tasty food, friendly service and great atmosphere!! I'll be back. Enjoy and Bon Appétit

The restaurant came highly recommended so I drove the 50 miles Tuesday evening to dine with friends. All the dishes I saw had a very elegant presentation. However. When the server asked me how my $55.00 piece of horseradish crusted halibut was I replied that "It was overcooked." There was no followup by server or restaurant. So why did he ask? My crème brûlée dessert was not made to the standard taught to me in France. The sugar must cover the entire top of the custard so that when it is torched the crackly caramelized sugar shell goes from edge to edge. This crème brûlée would have been rejected in my class. Why was it acceptable at Giovanni's?

I picked out Giovanni's for my birthday because as a Leo I like my vibes luxurious and classy. I discovered this bar tucked away in an unassuming office building several months ago, and wanted to revisit! I can't really tell if the restaurant is big or small, but it was without a doubt a full house this evening, a Thursday! We had reservations. Service was outstanding and personal yet professional and I thoroughly enjoyed a glass of bubbly! The beet salad was outstanding!! I got the Cappellini without anchovy oil for my entree and that was also flavorful. I appreciate the ice cream for dessert from The House and the other guests started singing to me! Happiest and kindest customers I've been around in awhile. The table next to us gifted a bananas foster and what a treat that was!!! They make for you in the dining room! Can't wait for next time, thank you for having us!

Family vacation 2021...bringing the California variant of COVID-19 to your city. Giovanni's is located in the corner of what looks like an office building in Beachwood. I had passed by it several times driving around before we checked the Yelp reviews and decided to order food from them. I called in my order. The food was waiting for me as I arrived. We ordered a linguine with clams and mussels, and a cavatelli with bolognese sauce. Bread was included in the meal. The food was all packed in an aluminum container and placed in a paper bag. Unfortunately, the linguine sauce leaked and not only soaked the paper bag, but, the bag disintegrated as I was carrying the pasta back to the hotel causing all my food to fall on the floor. Luckily, the food did not flip over and was wrapped securely as it fell, with everything staying inside the aluminum container. Fortunately, there was enough sauce still left in both pastas. Both pastas, were excellent! They were tasty and the portion was generous. Other than the paper bag disintegrating, the food and service here were excellent. I would definitely come here again if I was in the area.

We came a year later, order similar dishes, and nothing has changed, and that's good. The food and service are still outstanding. Prices are a little higher as everywhere. Servings were large so again we took food home. The patio is beautiful. The owner stopped by our table and asked how things were. Well, everything was great. We dressed business casual, and on a Thursday some people were dressed very nicely. Reservations are recommended.

First off, this restaurant appears to be in a small business park or general office building, so it's an odd location, but has valet parking. I already knew it was going to be the fancier type of Italian restaurant, but you can see they're trying very hard with their decor to classy the place up with their given space. Most of the other people in the restaurant were dressed in suits (or dress shirts) or dresses/skirts, so I assume and hope they were celebrating something (like an anniversary). Otherwise, this place would be too pretentious. We ordered the ceviche, which was tiny and pricey, but still decent. I had never had gnocchi before (I'm more of an Old Spaghetti Factory or Buca di beppo - look it up- kind of person), so I thought I'd try it here for the first time. Also, it was because I didn't see anything else I really liked on the limited menu. I was hoping for some ravioli or lasagna type foods, but this place is too fancy and high class to have those. If they do have anything like that, maybe I'm just too ignorant and don't know Italian well enough to be able to tell which ones are. The closest thing to lasagna here is probably the pappardelle, which I tried, but wasn't a fan of. I'm big on sauce (and cheese), so I felt like everything I ate was lacking in sauce and very dry. Also, there was not enough cheese... The desserts are tasty and as expected. Nothing that special. I wouldn't recommend coming here unless you live nearby and want an excuse to blow a ton of money on food to feel "fancy". Even if you're here for an anniversary or "romantic" date, you're not going to get a lot of privacy or an intimate setting. I also suggest ordering from their special menu because those items appeared to taste and be cooked better. There was a huge wedding reception group (older couples) that came in towards the middle of our meal. They were seated in a circular table in the middle of the room, and basically the entire room was focused on them because of how loud and raucous they were. Hopefully, that doesn't happen to you, but it provided some interesting entertainment.

Oh my what a meal!!! Little weird location thought maps was jacking with me since it looks like an office building. I am so glad I continued in!! Place was packed so I could only get a seat at the bar but that is my preference usually when traveling for business. From the front door to the bartender they made me feel like I was joining their family for dinner! You could tell the bartender had regulars as they walked up they would nod and she would mix or pour exactly what they wanted. Time for menu. Very excited about the descriptions and specials. But went with the calamari and seafood linguine. SOLID choices. First the calamari. Uhh might be the best I've ever had. Perfectly cooked!! Very light but crispy coating and if it was any more tender you'd think they forgot to put the calamari in. Perfectly paired with some peppers and drizzle of sauce. I wouldn't change a thing and I would highly recommend you try this gem!! Main course seafood linguine. Very good excellent preparation and mix of capers for a very nice balanced taste. All of the seafood was delicious and cooked perfectly. The linguine was light and fresh again perfectly cooked. I saw the special sea bass come out and thought I would order that next time. Honestly, even with as much care as they took to prepare the linguine it is a pretty sure bet that everything here is delicious. Congratulations Giovannis Ristorante!!! You have mastered your craft in every aspect. It is refreshing to see pride in every level of an organization.

The restaurant is in the bottom floor of an attractive office building and has a very nice red brick enclosed patio out front. In the evening, when it is all lit up, it looks very cozy. We made our reservations, which required a call rather than online. They were very accommodating. The establishment is a bit of a fooler when you first arrive. It is actually much larger inside than it appears from the outside. There is a lot of square footages that is split up into several separate rooms and distinct areas giving it a more comfortable and warmer feeling than that much space would typically afford. We were seated quickly in a space that was open and bright and very comfortable. A very pleasant young lady by the name of Celine introduced herself as our server for the evening and quickly took our drink order. The wine list was not extensive but it had a satisfactory selection of good wines (Italian) by the glass. Which I always appreciate as our party typically only drinks one or two glasses and a bottle would go to waste. I enjoyed an excellent "Montepulciano D'Abruzzo". When Celine returned with our beverages she answered all the questions we had and we proceeded to place our order. I noted right away "Geraci's" does something with their salad offerings that very few establishments do. They offer all their salads in two sizes. I often want a salad to start my meal but the typical salad in most restaurants is MUCH too big. I just don't want that much lettuce. "Geraci's" offers all their salad options in a small size to solve that problem. I really appreciated that thoughtfulness. So, we all started out with a small salad that was crisp and fresh. Nothing that had been sitting around getting wilted... Good start. We also ordered the "Breaded Artichoke Hearts" from the appetizer menu for the table (one order was plenty for the 4 of us). The artichokes were very good. Lightly breaded and NO TOUGH LEAVES. There are few things more disgusting than bighting into an artichoke heart and hitting an unchewable leaf... aaaugh! These were very nicely done. All tender and flavorful... nothing fancy, just a pleasant start. My wife followed this with "Chicken Piccata" and I chose the "Chicken Marsala". Our guests ordered the "Veal Cutlet" and a personal sized "Sicilian Pizza". Our chicken dishes were good. The meat was tender and nicely cooked. The sauces were pleasant. There was nothing exceptional about either one. They were typical "American/Italian" cuisine. However, the "Veal Cutlet" was a bit disappointing. The meat was tender enough. But the breading was dry and flavorless. The "Sicilian Pizza" was ok... just ok. The crust was palatable. The sauce was somewhat flavorless. The Romano cheese had no flavor at all (typical American Romano)... they should have gone with the good stuff. We followed the evening with an excellent cup of coffee and three different desserts. I had the "Cannoli Trio" which were nice and crispy with good flavor. My wife had the "Spumoni Bomba" which she was very happy with. Our guests shared the "Limoncello Tartufo" that was excellent. So, is the 4 star rating too much? Probably, but I feel like a 3 is too little. If a 3-1/2 was an option that would be more accurate. All in all, it was a good evening. The atmosphere was nice. The service was excellent. The food was mostly good, but not entirely. So would I go there again... yes, maybe, in a pinch. Would I call it fine dining... absolutely not. I think maybe you should give it a try and see for yourself. It's worth a try and another opinion.

It took 31 minutes to arrive and people who sat down many minutes after us were served before us. I even had to go-to another table to get silverware because the table we were at didn't have any and the waiter didn't bring any. The original location has much better service and I personally thinks the pizza at the original location tastes better. Since other tables, who had other waiters, got there food far before us despite sitting around 15 minutes after us and having more people at the table maybe our experience would have been different with a different waiter.

Getting a reservation was easy and convenient. I don't know why but the menu has just never excited me. It is a reasonably varied menu with a decent selection, but it's just lacking any creativity. Our server, Maia, was a very pleasant young woman who did an excellent job all evening. She was very effective and efficient. The wine list did include a good selection of excellent Italian wines by the glass. I enjoyed a very nice Amarone. I started with the "Fried Olives" which were tasty but just looked like a plate of marbles. My brother ordered the "Eggplant Meatballs" which I must say were excellent. They were tender and flavorful served in a marvelous marinara sauce... I might go so far as to say they were the highlight of the meal. I ordered the "Lamb Rigatoni" as my entree. It was good, with plenty of tender shredded lamb, but I couldn't help but wish it was covered by the marinara that was on the meatballs. My wife had the "Grilled Bronzini" which she said was very good. But somehow I was reading on her face, "it was just fish". We finished with a good cup of coffee and a scoop of very good ice cream. I can't really point to any specific disappointment. I was just underwhelmed. I wasn't motivated enough to take any pictures... sorry. I think you should give them a try and voice your opinion.

The spinach and artichoke pizza stood out with excellent balance, richness, and texture. Easily one of the better items of the night. The crispy Brussels sprouts were a highlight, well executed with strong flavor and proper crispness. The crispy potatoes were good but secondary.
