First time at Amici. Visited on a Wednesday evening and seated immediately. It was active enough but not crowded. Physical space was comfortable enough, seemed clean and orderly. Had veal parm, wife had the Chicken Marsala. Dinner came with bread which was ok. Food was ok, portions were fairly sized based on price. I did have a Manhattan before dinner that tasted like the vermouth or bourbon was watered down. A glass of Chianti with dinner that was very good. Spilt a cannoli for dessert that was excellent. Overall, decent enough, but since it is so far from our house, no real compelling reason to go back. If it was closer might be inclined to try again. read more

I will start by stating i got a clipp gift card for this restaurant and thats why we tried this. Ambience is nice. Great music. Clean and comfortable. I got eggplant parm $17. and my husband got lasagna $15 and a cup of soup for another $3. We also shared 4 mozzarella sticks $12. A bit over priced on the appetizer, and greasy. Eggplant was good, I got 1 piece. Lasagna good. Portions ok. But for the cost of not including a salad or soup, a bit high, but still ok. Now the sauce. I am picky on sauce so I asked to try ahead of time. Good. The only issue i have is wishing it wasn't chunky sauce, but I ate anyway and enjoyed. $50 check. Overall good, but I have had better eating out. They did warm up sliced bread. Another issue, the chef would YELL for the server to come get food. It was quiet in the dining room and caught us off guard, not something a chef should be doing, maybe get a food runner, or any other method. Murder Mystery? More Like Murdered Evening. We were told the event started at 6:00, so we showed up on time -- like responsible adults. Surprise! It was changed to 6:30, and we didn't actually get to eat until 7:45. By then, the "mystery" was whether there'd still be food... spoiler: there wasn't much. The buffet ran out early, and we had to ask multiple times before it was refilled. The "host" spent the night blowing a whistle like we were in gym class instead of at dinner. Drinks from the bar came with a 20% surcharge, the soda was flat, and the water pitcher was empty -- I literally had to go grab my own from the car. Oh, and the room? Dark. Black ceilings, low light, full "interrogation chamber chic." Makes you wonder what they're hiding. Between the late start, empty trays, and endless whistle-blowing, the only thing truly murdered was our night out. read more

We wanted Italian food and Amici has a decent rating, however, I honestly do not know how this is a 4 star. Things started off great as the owner and her daughter were nice. They showed us around. The restaurant also has a bar area and party center area. They also cater as well.. The restaurant itself and the bar area plus the catering hall are beautiful . The issue comes in with the food. We started off with the appetizer, we ordered calamari. The portion was beyond tiny and tasteless. It was coated in a batter that tasted like plain flour.. we ordered the boot of Italy, which consisted of chicken Parmesan fettuccine , spaghetti and meatball. I added shrimp to my fettuccine and my daughter added chicken to her fettuccine. I also added extra garlic. This is where the disappointment comes in, the shrimp on my fettuccine was undercooked almost white in color as you can see in the pictures. The fettuccine itself was not edible as both my daughter and I had to return our food because it was all mush, tasteless mushy, it sat in a ton of butter. Our food did come with three slices of white bread and some soft butter. We were expecting a more Italian style as they advertise as homemade Italian food. There was no oils no dipping sauces. Thus restaurant is very American very plain very disappointing. This really is not an Italian restaurant as advertised. read more

If you're looking for a fun location for your next event, look no further than Amici! They were great to work with and were excellent at hosting 50+ women for the holiday party. Parking is abundant and the interior was fun and festive! As for the food, both the eggplant and chicken parmeseans were pretty good. I preferred the chicken parmesean, however. The salad and other veggies were fresh although the mixed vegetables seemed like it had a bit too much butter in it. I also had 1... or 2 too many cookies because they were addicting! Overall, this women and family owned business knows how to host a group! Thank you! read more

Came to Amici's for the Aloha pop up bar for a friends birthday The first thing to note was that the pop up is attached but different from the restaurant and has a separate menu - so my review is for the bar side. I don't know how the food on the restaurant side is. POSITIVES 1) it was decorated cute and had fun selfie stations and props 2) the server (Mary) was nice (she made sure my friend whose birthday it was felt special) and she worked hard - she mentioned it was her 3rd day but honestly couldn't tell - she was great. 3) the food came quickly 4) the presentation of the special aloha menu items was super cute (see pics). NEGATIVES: 1) The food was blah(I hit the special Aloha burger, which was describe as juicy - it was not) .... tasted like frozen premade food - nothing fresh made. My French fries tasted like they had freezer burn-but I'm not the biggest fan of French fries so not worth sending back cause I wouldn't have eaten them anyway. 2) the "special" drinks were weak. expensive, with no prices on the menu. We all had a pina colada and personally I did not taste any alcohol in it whatsoever - but I thought this was just me because no one else at my table said anything and I like my drinks strong - but after we left I asked everyone their thoughts, and everyone agreed that no one tasted the alcohol 3) they automatically added an "auto tip" of 20% to our bills (don't know if this was because we had 5 people with 5 separate checks or if they do this to all checks - just something I thought was odd and for others to be aware of) 4) the music they were playing was too loud and not my taste - but they have a jukebox and the only other 2 people in the place paid their money to play the songs - so not really the restaurant's problem. Overall, it was an ok experience - the server and decor being the best part - but don't come here thinking you're going to get stellar food. Came for the Halloween bar- menu is a bit more limited than the front of house. Scenery was good and our server was great! Food was just so/so for me. The mozzarella sticks with 95% breading so we're just a miss for me all around. Also got a basket of fries which were just some typical Sysco fries. A little dry and needed seasoning but we can make do with that as that's not what we came for. Chicken Alfredo was good! Blacked chicken was even better. Chicken Parmesan was good but not great. Expected more, a bit thick of a crust but was still flavorful. Would be back to try other items maybe on the other end of the restaurant! We had a party of 3 and there was an auto tip added on- figure it was something to note, i personally hate an auto tip unless for a larger party which i understand. Our server would've gotten more if i did the tip myself, so note to watch the bill when you come here. Overall i would've given 3.5 stars, but will give 4 since 3 i feel would be a bit low. read more

This was the first time visiting Amici's, specifically for the holiday pop-up. Unfortunately, the service was awful. We waited 90 minutes for our food. When the food arrived it was cold. We told the staff we no longer wanted the food and politely asked for our checks. The staff cashing us out was extremely rude. Also, our server walked out mid-shift. No one notified us that they left. Also, fyi, they charge a 20% fee for the "Christmas pop up" the staff do not notify you, they leave a small piece of paper with tiny print explaining this policy on their tables. I recommend saving your time and money; there are plenty of other pop-ups that have better service and do not charge you a fee to be there. We left there went to Brew Garden. We received better service and warm food under 30 minutes. It's right down the street from Amici's. read more

Big building on the corner of West 130th and Royalton Rd. Can't miss. Now this review is just for the bar. It has a nice elegant restaurant with some outdoor seating as well but it also has a lounge. The bar this month has been turned into a CARNEVIL Bar for the Halloween season. Unbelievable decor throughout the bar. The smoked/fog cauldrons to the many animatronics and statues, this place has it all. It had some nice tunes going on as well. 1 pool table but many tables and bar seats available. They even put out a mini food menu and drinks to match the theme. We didn't try any food so again I'm not gonna write about that. We did have some drinks but also had a Crazy Clown shot or something like that which was in a syringe. Very tasty. Large. $7 per but worth it. Overall just on vibes, decor, staff and drinks this place is a 8.1. Fun for a night with friends or just to stop in and see the decorations. The staff did a great job with it. They do have a few Halloween things scheduled like a costume party, murder mystery dinner and trivia nights. Will have to give them a look. Fun time. read more

Went for the Valentines pop-up experience which the vibes were great however the food and service wasn't the best. The waitress didn't check on us much which is okay since it was busy but would walk by multiple times without noticing our waters have been empty. Would've loved to see some mocktail options on the drink menu. I'd give my chicken sandwich a 4/10, was expecting a lettuce leaf but it ended up being shredded Romain and also put underneath the grilled chicken and toppings which made it soggy and warm. We had a horrible experience at this restaurant and will never return. When we arrived the sign said seat yourself in the bar area. Two tables were open and filled with dirty dishes and napkins. We sat down expecting that the table would be cleared when the wait staff came over. We waited about 25 minutes and then the waiter came over. We gave him some dishes and put in our drink order. I asked for a rag to wipe the table down for him since the bar was busy. When the drinks came we put in an order for 3 appetizers. We put the remaining dishes in the table next to us that had turned over and still had all of it's dirty dishes (the 2 tables across from it were also empty and filled with dirty dishes) usually wait staff clear dishes when they drop the check but this was not happening. About 20 minutes after we ordered food we were told the kitchen would be closed for 30 minutes. No mention of the appetizers we already ordered. But this time we were sitting there over an hour. We asked to speak to a manager who listened apologized for the dirty tables and offered to take over our table himself. He brought the owner over who very rudely told us this was our fault bc we sat at a dirty table. There were no clean tables to sit at. She confirmed that the kitchen would be closed and any food would be at least an hour. At this point we asked her to comp our drinks and said we would go elsewhere for dinner. She refused to comp the drinks and said she said she wouldn't apologize for being busy. Plenty of restaurants are busy but they still clear tables and aren't rude when customers complain. We went to Nikkos and shout out to their staff. They were busy and still took good care of us! 2 other customers we saw at Amici came into Nikos while we were eating complaining about their lack of service at Amici. I wish I had read the Yelp reviews​​ regarding Amici before I went. There are a lot of unsatisfied customers who have written reviews. This restaurant really needs to adjust their attitude. read more

It was very busy for Saturday night and we had to wait for about 10 to 15 minutes before we were seated. We did have a reservation for a party of five. Once seated, the server was very friendly and brought water to the table very quickly. We then had our drink orders taken. I enjoyed the Amici punch. We had two orders of the fried calamari. It was very tasty. The calamari was lightly and very tender and flavorful. The marinara was delicious and it was made with love. The wedding soup had small tender meatballs, orzo and flavorful broth. The Around the Boot tasting sampler of spaghetti with a meatball, lasagne and eggplant parmigiana was sublime. The pasta was just all done enough, and the eggplant parmigiana on had a wonderful crust. dessert was good and we split a tiramisu and pistachio cake. The only challenge this evening was that the restaurant was very short staffed and the servers were doing their best but overwhelmed. I think on a different night the surface would be spot on. It was a good experience overall. I would definitely consider going back. read more

After waiting far too long for anyone to acknowledge us, we ended up having to go to the bar ourselves just to get a drink- which completely defeats the purpose of paying premium prices. Speaking of prices, the drinks were way overpriced to the point of being insulting, especially considering the portions and lack of effort put into them. And the cherry on top? A mandatory 20% service charge... for what service exactly? Carrying our own drinks from the bar to the table. The whole experience felt like a cash grab wrapped in Christmas lights. There are plenty of holiday spots that truly care about customers. This is not one of them. Save your money and your holiday spirit. read more

They are lucky we gave them star. Got there the tables had food and drinks all over itthe empty tables were are filled with food and drinks. We sat down and moved the things. Ordered apps and never got them. No service for around 45 minutes. When we finally got service it was because my friend yelled at the waiter because he went to clean off the table behind us. He took our orders came back two different times and told me the drink I ordered was unavailable. Asked for the manger because we were told the kitchen was closed but the table behind me got their food when we arrived way before them. The owner came out of the kitchen and started the kitchen wont be available for 30 minutes. We complained about our service and she started"it's your fault you sat at a dirty table". I went here earlier this week with a large group for a holiday party. The staff was attentive, the food was great and the atmosphere was cheerful thanks to the adjacent holiday bar. I adore that this place is a family business ran by a mother- daughter duo. The food was great! Bread service is always good but here the bread was extra tasty!! Was there for a catered event - murder mystery dinner theater. The show was cute. The food was standard pasta and salad with meatballs. Service was standard. This was a large event - 50 people? Cost was $50.00 per person. Unknown what portion was for food or the murder mystery company. There were no vegetables to balance out the carb meal. If you are planning a catered event make sure to check on the food choices. This did not seem like a good value for the cost. And the food did not represent the restaurant well at all. Not a good experience either in terms of food, service, or ambiance, so let me explain. I went in and the main dining area was busy - there were three tables unoccuppied, but they hadn't been cleared so, being accomodating, I let the hostess direct me to a table in another dining area. It was dark (overly early Halloween decorations in Sept?), freezing cold, and the seating wasn't the most comfortable. The music was ... tacky, cheesy, overly loud for a dining area ... all of the above? There were four servers in this area, but only one other occuppied table for a total of three of us as patrons, and yet it wasn't easy to get someone's attention. When the food came - Lasagne and garlic bread - it was awful: A plate of mostly tomato-sauce with a small (almost meatless) portion of 'lasagne' hidden somewhere in it, and barely luke-warm; the garlic bread was ... well it was 'bread' (not toasted) and barely warm, and worse, it was as-if it had been dipped in oil (not buttered) and then pressed into a plate of what might have been shop-bought/packaged 'parmesan cheese' (think Kraft). It didn't make for great eating, but given that it I couldn't seem to get the attention of the staff gossiping at the serving station on the other side of the room, I forced some of it down (I'd later wish I hadn't). Then it still took me 15minutes to get someone's attention to ask for my check. The food sat so badly in my gut that I didn't sleep much overnight, eating antacids by the fistful; so-much-so that I had to withdraw from a sports tournament the following day because I just felt sick ... no, absolutely not food-poisoning, just bad food that leaves you wishing it had been so you could throw it up and be done with it. Here's where it gets very annoying: There was as pre-completed 'gratuity' line (some payment systems do this now, and you have to override it) ... and yes, I docked a small amount for my bad experience though in hindsight it should have been more. Imagine my surprise when my credit card statement came and they had, without my authorization, overridden my adjustment of the gratuity amount. Of course, I went in to fix it, because no-one has that right. I asked to speak to the manager, explained that I had an issue just a server couldn't resolve; Surprise! the same hostess who had seated me now claimed she was the 'owner', and already we're into the rudest, speak-to-the-hand, customers-can-go-suck-it attitude I've ever exprienced in a restaurant. Full of I-don't-care excuses followed by sophistic demands for 'civility' when challenged, all I got was bad attitude - they'd do well to note that passive-aggressive rudeness and stonewalling is not itself 'civility', so don't lecture on it. Despite having claimed to be the 'owner', the hostess went away saying she had to call "her mom" (apparently, the real owner?), came back after 10mins and handed me a card telling me to call "her mom" after 11am on Monday. So, she wasn't just not the owner, she was also (apparently) not able to fix a basic customer service issue she'd created a few weeks prior. Note to patrons: This approach to 'customer service' is what we call the "cancellation funnel", it's a calculated method to make you so frustrated by throwing obstacles at you that you just give up. Still, I told her, I would dispute the charge with the credit-card company and write a review - and here we are. Consequently, here's a warning for the unsuspecting who might walk through the door - just DON'T - there are plenty of genuinely fine-food places to eat in the area with staff who earn their way; plenty of real bars (if you're looking for that) where they don't quarterback-sneak charges onto your bill and then ignore it when you correct them; and plenty of places with business 'policies' that are prominently displayed on the menu and properly disclosed and which genuinely are respectful of the customer - it seems though that Amici's just isn't one of them. Something you should note if you do go in : They now claim that I 'chose' to sit in the "bar" (when in-fact I just let the hostess guide me to somewhere that was cleared), and also now claim that somewhere behind the "bar" itself (on the other side of the room where you can't see it) they have posted that they add 20% graduity to your bill (not disclosed by the hostess when she sat me there). Moreover, they claim that their "tech guy" set it up like that and they can't change it. As a software engineer, I find that claim highly specious - these things are a choice, and they can always be overriden. Weirldy, she alledges that if you sit in the main dining hall, it's not like that. So, do NOT let them sit you anywhere other than the main dining room - wait for a table if you must, or leave, but don't let them guide you back into what they now tell me is the 'bar'. Amici's in North Royalton - seems like just a big-fat poster-child for Caveat Emptor on every front, and no dining experience should be like this. read more

If I could give negatives I would. First we called multiple times to get a reservation. We were unable to reach anyone for over 30mins. We get here and they asked right away if we had a reservation. Told us the wait was 15 minutes. We waited nearly 45minutes. It took at hour and an half to get our food. Btw no one ever gave use menus after we asked multiple times. Our food was nothing more than okay. I would not come back to this place. Maybe for drink but definitely not for food. Not worth it. read more

Never been here before. No reason why Had a taste for spaghetti with meatballs, even though I'm leery because most restaurants don't do them well. This was the best spaghetti and meatballs I've ever had in a restaurant meatballs were tender and flavorful spaghetti head good bite, and the sauce was delicious wife had around the boot, which was three of their top five she had eggplant Parmesan lasagna and fettuccine Alfredo she loved it.
