We were visiting family in the Bristol area and decided to give bistro on 6th street a try for lunch. I didn't take photos of the appetizer or meals but provided one of the dessert. For the appetizer we had the fried green tomatoes with the pimento on the side. My spouse had the bacon guacamole cheese sandwich and French fries which ended up being made incorrectly, they put ham on the sandwich and forgot the bacon. To remedy it they offered to re-make the sandwich. My spouse said no need just bring some bacon and that will resolve the issue. I had the cashew salad with grilled shrimp and citrus vinaigrette dressing. The only downside about this meal was the excess amount of cashews on the salad. It feels like they poured over a cup of cashews on top. Otherwise it was very good. We shared a small skilled that contained a Nutella cookie with vanilla ice cream on top. It was good, hot and very rich. I would return and try other items. read more

Food was outstanding! We had the fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese, it was aaahmazing! I had the mushroom risotto which was very tasty with the fried leeks on top, yum! My husband had the chicken and waffles just the right amount of heat tender chicken and fluffy and crisp waffle. Home fun of a meal! Our server Emma was new only 4 days but very sweet and personable. Horrendous. It was a mistake to go in there. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with bacon and no fries. The bread was dried out and one puny piece of junk American cheese, ( didn't even reach edge to edge), and two tiny pieces of bacon. Of course it came with the fries I specifically didn't want. The blood orange margarita was made with some chemical mix and I think all they did was wave the tequila bottle over the glass to capture some fumes. read more

A first visit for my wife and me. And so happy we chose Bistro on 6th. We had a delightful meal. Our two appetizers--pickle board and the crispy chili brussel sprouts--were both fabulous. Our main course selections--roasted beet salad with chicken, and bistro fish and chips--were both very good. The wine list could have been a bit broader, but was fine. The service was friendly and while it was Friday night busy, never seemed harried. A very nice experience and a good value for the money. We look forward to coming back again and again. Known chef and interesting menu. Everything we ordered was delicious. But the evening was spoiled by poor service. Our server was very friendly but slow. Really enjoyed my experience at Bistro on 6th! I found this place strolling on Yelp and was immediately excited to try it out. Turns out I was pleasantly surprised and Bistro on 6th exceeded my expectations! I came in on a Tuesday night, it was pretty quiet but Bristol is a quaint little town with not too many restaurants so I didn't think anything of it. All I was trying to figure out is if I was going to order the Champagne Pork, Steak & Potatoes, Shrimp & Grits or the Bistro Burger. When I sat down I was greeted by Tracey who was so lovely and helpful! She told me the pork was her go to and I had to try it! The pork was tender and accompanied by an out of this work champagne cream sauce with onions. The pork was over mashed potatoes and green beans. My only caveat is I wish there were more green beans with my meal bc I love my greens. The pork and mashed potato portion was perfect and left me stuffed! Even though I was stuffed I needed to take something sweet to have back in my hotel room and decided to go with their dessert special of the evening a chocolate ganache Carmel pie. Let me tell you...this was DELICIOUS! I will be dreaming about this pie. If you don't have room bring it home with you; you won't be disappointed. I also had the opportunity to meet the owner and he was the sweetest, very friendly! I loved every bite of this meal and would recommend to anyone! I cannot wait for my next visit to Bristol to try another menu item. Wait staff was amazing, very friendly and welcoming; Emily & (I didn't catch the other waitress name, young blonde woman) - attentive and talkative, definitely livened the place up, made me want to come back from just their personalities alone. Food was also very good. The Cajun sauce on the shrimp and grits really sets it off. Fried green tomatoes hit the spot, a little heavy on the pimento cheese in some spots, but nothing you can't knock off when you see it. Also, the bourbon pecan pie was outstanding. I used to love this restaurant. Everything was fresh and delicious until today. I haven't been in months. I took my daughter and grandson for lunch. Service was great. The food on the other hand was not good. I asked my daughter if they changed ownership or got a new cook? If you're looking at the long of restaurants in Bristol and don't know where to go, stop the search! The food was delicious and the atmosphere just right. Not loud or pretentious. The service was very personable and efficient, too. My hubby and I both had the chicken salad - he with orzo salad (which might have had too much dressing but was reallllly good dressing) and I had mine with fries. That chicken salad might have been plain, but it was the best I'd ever had! Tasty plain. Like it didn't need a lot of additions. I don't know how they made it but I'll be trying to perfect it in the months to come! We were there for lunch and it started off a few tables were taken - and by the time we left, every table was taken! They have a good thing going at this place. Red pepper soup, broccoli, and fries were so salty they were inedible. We had cod and chips, beet salad, and their filet/cajun shrimp special. Filet was ordered medium and then served rare and cold with butter topping not even melting. Waitress was great and had it reheated to again medium rare but hot and butter melting properly. Was delicious after these issues. The Fish and chips cod was very, very good. They comped the soup which was appreciated and may be a reason to go back. Overall for $111 for two and a poor overall experience, I would not return. Waitress and staff were great. Food was just not up to even a chain fast casual place like Cheddar's, Texas Steakhouse, etc. for 2 to 3 times the price. read more

At lunch here on 9/11/25. Waiter was nice. We got complimentary waters. That's nice. But the bad was we was told just about everything was freshly made. We was served cold mashed potatoes that were reheated. Needless to say they were not heated enough. My burger was half raw. And the soup they served my 70 year old mother made her sick. The brown butter tomato pasta had an extra layer of flavor from the butter, the fried green tomatoes were crispy with sweet and savory elements, the chicken and waffles included perfectly cooked chicken and a sweet and spicy sauce, the fries were crispy and perfect, and the elder fashioned was a nice surprise as I've never had an elderflower flavored old fashioned before. The food was delicious (probably the best food we had while on our vacation). Generous portions. I ordered the pickle board for my meal. It came with thick sliced toast, pimento cheese, apple slices, baked ham slices, nuts and a jar of pickled vegetables. I didn't think I would eat it all but I came very close. The menu looked good and it's in a historic and really cool part of the city. I'm glad we chose this restaurant. Upon entry we were greeted immediately by friendly staff. Our server, Carla, was very friendly and attentive to us throughout our visit. She made our visit fun and ensured we were happy. We ordered the pickle board appetizer. The homemade pickles and vegetables, naan and white pimento cheese were epic. We ordered the salmon and rice special and the fish and chips special. Both delicious. The salt encrusted salmon was prepared perfectly as was the fish and chips. The restaurant offers several beers and ales. If you prefer wine, bring it in. They will uncork it for you for a modest corkage charge. If you're anywhere near Bristol, bistro on 6th is a must. read more
