Actually impressed with how good the falafel crunch bowl. Received this at a work lunch and even after being delivered it was still warm and the chips were still crunch. The hummus was amazing. The tzatiki sauce was nice and refreshing in the bowl. Loved the skhug ( a green herb sauce) And the lemon and herb tahini. This is one of my go-to "fast food" places when I need a quick lunch, but want to keep it healthy. I always order the same thing--the grains and greens bowl with black lentils and splendid mix. The only variation is the meat--usually chicken, but often the braised lamb when I want to splurge a bit (both higher calories and a couple bucks more). It's set up similar to Chipotle where you move through a line and you tell the servers what you want, and they put stuff in assembly-line style--the reason why it's so quick. So not sure what's been going on but we used to love coming to Cava for its freshness and delicious flavors! BUT the past few times, around 2/3 months, the quality has drastically changed, the lettuce is always 'just ok' with some red sections, the rice is stuck together and at times over cooked or soggy and the chicken has lots of fat or burned pieces. I stopped by Cava on a weekday noon to get a bowl for lunch. Luckily there was no line, store was relatively less busy. I got to start my orderr right away. All the ingredients were available. Got my favorite braised lamb with lots of toppings and sauces. Service was excellent, I was done paying and walked out in minutes. The store was clean and condiments section was well stocked. I started eating from the bowl an hour later. Yet all ingredients tasted so good. Just love the flavor all of their ingredients bring it. Have absolutely nothing bad to say about Cava, the Mediterrean Chipotle so to speak for fast food dining. Been to many Cava locations but this one is among my favorite. Always a generous helping of animal protein here whereas they skimp out on most locations. I went with my classic choice the harissa but opted for a lamb option myself. Love that their is diverse animal proteins options here. I paired it with fried pita chips and of course all of the vegetable add ons (pickled onions, cucumbers. Corn, and much more). Service could be a little faster, but I noticed most Cava locations are just like that. It can be a bit slow as you move across the service line. But still recommend! read more

I've been going here at least once a week for the past month -- I guess you could call me an addict at this point... Service and food quality has been consistent *chef's kiss* I'm a creature of habit, so I always get the same ingredients in my custom bowl: Base - brown rice Dips - roasted eggplant (the BEST), spicy feta, tzatiki Protein - grilled chicken Toppings - pita crisps, feta, cucumber, pickled onion, olives, tomato, cabbage slaw, romaine Sauce - greek vinaigrette Their drink refreshers are also very good and not overly sweet. Update to my review a few years ago. The service speed and accuracy here has gone KAPUT. The last few times I came here for pickup, I didn't receive my order until approximately 30 minutes after the estimated pick up time. I get that they are busy, but the pick up time ETAs are wayyyyy off. I will say that you will probably be in and out of this location quicker if you order in person, but then what's the point of ordering online? In addition, the accuracy of the online orders has suffered just as much. On multiple occasions my pickup orders have been missing ingredients. There is no good explanation for how online orders are missing multiple ingredients, which leads me to believe that the location runs out of ingredients, but fails to inform customers at pick up, OR either, unfortunately, the employees aren't trained well at all - which comes straight from management. read more

While doing some after Christmas shopping at the Bergen mall we decided to go to Cava for lunch. We have tried to go before but the line is always so long. When we arrived around 12:30 the line was almost to the door. We started to wait and then we thought let's see if they have an app, which they did. We ordered and it said it would be ready in 20 mins. This was fine with us, we got off line and went and did some shopping. It was ready when we returned and in the pick up area. We spilt the rice and chicken bowl which was really tasty. I couldn't figure out how to custom on the app but I was happy with the toppings. It was large so I am happy we spilt it. I came in here at 1pm March 3 to pickup an order for my sick partner. The store was not busy. There were more than customers. I walked to the counter gave them the order name than mentioned the items to Bebo out locating it. I didn't get her name but this particular young lady rolled her eyes, was dismissive & walked away. She didn't tell me if my order wasn't prepared or anything. I simply walked to the side & waited because she was clearly bothered. I tried to get someone on the phone after the incident. No one ever answers the phone line neither. Beware of this business for they only want your money & clearly have an agenda. First experience at a Cava and my food wasn't very good but it wasn't their fault at all. Of course for my first time there, I wanted to try as much as I could. There is so much flexibility & so many options so it's really up to you to make a good choice depending on what you want. You can get a bowl, salad or sandwich. You chose however you want it. I am not a fan of mixing cold ingredients that you typically put on your salad with your hot bowl but each their own. Maybe trying everything and mixing it all together isn't necessarily a good idea and choosing a few ingredients that work together is reasonable. I heard a few other people confused and intimidated by the menu as well. Don't be upset or intimidated, do you want a salad, sandwich or a bowl? Cava at BTC is slowly becoming a regular stop with my husband. When he finds a place he can go as a vegetarian - and especially an order that's safe for him (i.e. Market Spice) - he sticks with it. Market Spice is spicy falafel, fiery broccoli, hummus, tzatziki, pickled onions, romaine, rice, skhug (hot sauce), and garlic dressing. I like the Harissa Avocado and Chicken+Right Rice. Harissa Avocado is Harissa honey chicken + hot harissa vinaigrette, Crazy Feta®, hummus, corn, avocado, rice, and SuperGreens. Chicken+Right Rice has grilled chicken, tzatziki, hummus, feta, tomato, arugula, and the namesake Right Rice (high-protein rice). In short, Cava is a Mediterranean Chipotle - it's consistent, you know what you will get. The Paramus location is a good one with fresh ingredients and friendly line staff. It's usually busy because it's Bergen Town Center and gets lots of traffic, but the line moves quickly. The entrance is from outside and there isn't access from inside the mall. read more

It's CAVA so given that it's a chain you aren't going to necessarily get something totally unique, but the food is generally solid at this location in my experience. In my opinion, the appeal of the place is that it's considered a fairly healthy option for fast food/fast casual. I always prefer to build my own where you can pick your base, ingredients, sauces, etc. They also have a set menu for some established bowls. A huge plus for me is that it actually fills you up as opposed to other healthier options out there and they have options for vegetarians and meat lovers alike. The massive variety that they offer with grains, greens, sauces, veggies, toppings definitely makes it so that anyone could find something to eat here. Parking at this location is a major headache as they share the space with other stores and restaurants. No matter what time I go, it is a battle to find a parking spot and I almost always end up having to have parked extremely far away and then walk over. I recognize that's not entirely the restaurants fault, the plaza really needs to add more parking. The line at this location in particular is always very long, essentially out the door no matter what time you come. I usually come Sunday afternoons or weekday evenings and I've yet to be able to get my food in a reasonable timeframe. Definitely a popular choice for sure but the service probably could be a little more efficient as I haven't had this issue with other locations. Decent bit of seating inside and generally tends to be quite crowded. Haven't had too many issues finding a seat since most people tend to order to-go. They also have a few spots outside as well. read more

Cava is nutritious and picks as you like meal as you order. You'll find the menu options on the hlass when you stand in line. The descriptions of what each food is, dressing, full portions, or half and half options are helpful. We have been here numerous times if you find yourself so hungry. This meal will hold you over for hours. The drinks are great too. Tried each one, the cucumber mint one might be my favorite, and I usually hate cucumber taste. Drink flavor is strong, however made at Cava and is a refreshing drink (as are all their drinks). Service is good. Some staff members look like they want to get on with the orders, and others look helpful. Any time we have come in, they're busy, and it's understandable. The assembly line reminds me of Chipotle style, except it's way healthier here. Parking is at the Bergen Town outlet area. Plenty of parking, just keep in mind with whizzing traffic. LOVEEE CAVA! It's kind of like Sweetgreen or Blaze where you go down the line and pick which ingredients you want, or they also have bowls on the menu with pre-selected ingredients (which you can still customize but it makes ordering simpler if you don't know what you want). I tend to just build my own bowl. All of their ingredients have always been fresh and well-seasoned. Pro tip - if a topping says you can pick up to 3 but you only want 1 kind, you can ask for 3 scoops of the 1 topping you want. That might seem obvious to some but I didn't figure that out until recently haha. Parking may be difficult during peak times, but I always come here on Sundays and have never had trouble finding parking since all the clothing stores are closed. read more

First time here. Being honest here I'm not a salad person, but I was with someone who, and I figured I'll come for the adventure. So still being honest I have to say that even though I am not a fan of veggie sorts of food usually, I will say I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed my meal very much. I had a grains bowl with lamb meatballs and falafel. The meatballs were quite good. Very flavorful and moist. The falafel was some of the best I have had. I added roasted vegetable which were very nice and roasted corn that was sweet and delicious. The pickles and slaw were also very good. The feta cheese spread was new to me and it was very good. I been to CAVA for lunch a few times when I worked in Manhattan pre-COVID but I guess I forgot how much I liked it. I can across this location when visiting the Bergan Mall and it was pretty busy. Similar to Chortle, you go down the line and choose from a number for options to add to a bowl or wrap. Their ingredients are very fresh and I love the amount of choice. My go to is the chicken but I love the lamb and falafels too. You can order ahead using their app for pick up and earn loyalty points or order for delivery using one of the many deliver services. I've used Uber Eats a few times and it travels well under 30 mins on a cool day. The staff here is very welcoming and accommodating. This location has a decent amount of seating and the parking is shared with the mall so it can become hard to look for a convenient spot. read more
