Maine with mayo & chives Connecticut with just butter Picnic with coleslaw, butter, celery salt. Sensational lobster rolls- love them all Extremely fresh & 4.5z seems to be plenty for me. I couldn't finish the 3rd one so I'll be eating it later. Served with cape cod potato chips. I believe that cape cod chips will be no longer. The question is what company will replace the chips?? (BTW) I didn't catch her name but the young lady who took my order was a spot on employee!! The only bad news was, I asked for a taste of the lobster bisque & sorry to say I didn't like it at all. We saw a high score and thought it would be a good place to go to. Asked if they could warm up the lobster as we don't like it cold and when they said "Yes"...we thought we were good to go! Food was delivered and when we bit into it, the lobster was cold. When we took it back and asked them to heat it up, they said they could not...then she reiterated that they served it cold. Had a fine but not amazing experience here. Split a large lobster roll, mac and cheese, and the clam chowder. The Maine lobster roll (mayo-based) was good with a slightly lemony flavor maybe but expensive at $41 - maybe that's the going rate but it seemed slightly high. They have a three smaller lobster roll flight but I am pretty sure it's the same price as just buying three small lobster rolls. The mac and cheese was disappointing. It had a slightly slimy texture and the pasta was mushy. The clam chowder was fine but tasted like it had been reheated and not made all that recently. I had a lobster roll from their food truck a few years ago that I ate outside on a summer day and it felt special. This visit did not feel that way and instead more of a perfunctory meal. I was excited to find a spot in Portland that had a Connecticut-ish style roll with butter on it. I was expecting for it to be a full on Connecticut-style roll but to my surprise, instead of biting into warm buttery lobster, it was a cold lobster roll with warm butter ladled over top. It wasn't a big deal though bc the lobster was still quality and very delicious. We went to Bite into Maine for lunch. It was our first time there, so we purchased 2 6oz lobster roll flights (so 6 mini lobster rolls each a different flavor). This was my first experience with lobster roll so I was surprised that they were cold. Not sure if it's sacrilege to have them warmed up, but I think it could have been better that way. Anyways onto the different flavors. Maine was delicious. I think the mayo based lobster rolls were my favorite. The creaminess and the zing of mayo work well with the lobster. Picnic had some coleslaw in it which added some nice contrast and texture. Connecticut is probably for the purists as it's just lobster and butter. Chipotle mayo had a little kick to it which was nice after having more simple flavors. I really wanted to enjoy the curry one and while the flavor was good, I don't usually associate curry with coldness. I think the lobster was warm it would have been better. Wasabi wasn't for me but that was my boyfriend's favorite. I enjoyed being able to taste all the flavors! I wish they had fries over chips (not really a fan of chips) but I guess good for me and my health? Service was pretty fast and the place was clean. I had 8 different lobster roll spots around Maine when I visited, and can say that Bite Into Maine without a doubt has some of the best lobster, freshest flavors, and a great sized roll both the warm/cold versions. Easy to order - I had take out and ate in two different days. Served with a side of chips, both rolls had nicely buttery toasted buns and the meat was plentiful. It was only like $7. Warm, creamy, and full of great seafood. I also tried the Lobster grilled cheese mac and cheese. It was $26 but very good and delicious. Bite Into Maine started out as a food truck, and we did see their food truck at a brewery and by the lighthouse, but we went to their brick and mortar restaurant. They offer a variety of unique lobster rolls, including a flight option. Our group tried the curry, chipolte, Connecticut style and sriracha with asian pear slaw. We also had the lobster BLT and grilled cheese. All of the items were fresh and the lobster was very good. Their buns stood out ! The BLT was on a brioche style bun and was toasted perfectly. All the dishes were served with Cape cod potatoe chips . They have limited indoor and outdoor seating. We were fortunate to grab a picnic table outside to enjoy our food. Looking to have a lobster roll for lunch so my husband decided to come in town for a "good" one. We did a lobster roll trip through Portland last year and did not come here for what ever reason. We were able to get a front row parking spot which to me means this is meant to be. Raining out so when we pulled up it looked like a line of people waiting to order, that was not the case. Every table was taken and only a handful of people waiting for their food. I ordered the mayo and chives large roll and hubby had the Lobster Mac and cheese. Both were very good. After a stop at Orange Bike Brewing and seeing the gluten-free menu Bite Into Maine does as a partnership gave us a craving for lobster. We have tried their Allagash Brewing trailer location before but first time here at this location. Service was friendly and food came out quick! Prices were roughly what you can expect from lobster prices in Portland. They have both some indoor and outdoor seating available with some wall art including a giant lobster one. During a packed day I imagine all seating may be gone but can do takeout if needed. Both my wife and I were feeling their lobster BLT that has two different lobster amounts with the smaller being $22 and larger was $28. We both enjoyed the smaller lobster version and were happy. They came on a delicious grilled ciabatta bun with exactly what you expect on a BLT along with a delicious topping of lobster! If you are craving some lobster this is a spot worth checking out. Typically some free parking is available and plenty of spots within walking distance nearby. read more

My sister loved it so much, that she wanted to try the sit down location. I location is so cute inside and outside, and there is seating available in both. I immediately loved that they had different varieties of the Lobster Rolls with various seasoning & topping combos. The Cashier was really kind and personable. Sort of an industrial park setting, so not quite the same atmosphere as their truck at Portland Head Light, but the ample parking, friendly counter service, tables, bathrooms, outdoor seating, and clean space throughout more than make up for it. I visited twice about a month apart. Lobster Roll Trio: A nice sampler with three different styles of your choosing. Only a few bites each, so you don't fill up. I enjoyed it, choosing Maine (cold/mayo) , Connecticut (warm/butter), and a curry version (spicy but manageable). Cool thing about the hot butter: it's added on right in front of you from a container the Tin Man wished he had. Good theater and good lobster. Maine Lobster Roll (4.5-ounce): I liked this better, since it's the quintessential Maine style, has a much more generous serving than the trio, and won't fill you up (though they have a larger size if you want to fill up). There's a little more mayo there than on Red's Eats' lobster roll, but still light enough to let the lobster shine. Plump, fresh, good snap, good overall texture and bite. Proper New England roll with split top and flat sides, properly buttered (read: just enough and not overdone, much like the mayo). Very enjoyable. Burger: Who knew? A 6-ounce brisket burger on a nice little brioche bun, modestly dressed and with condiments you choose. Good crispness, tender interior, good flavor, bright vegetables, nicely buttered/griddled bun. This isn't a destination burger the way the lobster roll is a destination lobster roll, but solid. Coleslaw: Crisp, creamy, more mayo than needed, no discernible flavor beyond the mayo. Potato Chips: All items include a generous portion of crisp, extra-thick, high-salt potato chips of high quality. Water: Large dispenser near the door provides free water, making the lobster roll an even better deal. Service: Very cordial and very professional. Terrible! Maybe it was this particular location near 2 good breweries but holy crap was it bad. We stayed a week in Maine with 2 days in Portland, arrival and departure were full days. Our first order of business was a lobster roll and we went toward the canal area and got a GREAT roll! So freaking tasty! Then had whole lobsters mid week which was so yummy. I wanted one more lobster roll before we left so we came to bite into Maine. First off I bit down into a piece of shell - okay, its a crustaceans so someone can accidentally get a shell in there. Threw it away and kept eating. Then hit another shell. WTH?! Come on , someone is going to choke if you allow this to happen. The flavor just WAS NOT THERE! So sad this was my last lobster experience in Maine. My aunt owns a camp in Maine and its easier to fly in to another airport but we wanted to check out Portland. We had a great time exploring the city but I don't know I'd give this a try again unless they reach out to tell me this is such a huge one-off and offer a complementary roll. While my favorite BIM location is still out at Allagash Brewing (I just love the secluded feel of it), what I also love is that Bite Into Maine now has this location on Diamond Street in town, which is super close to me! I've stopped in a few times now and am happy to see it perking up for summer, with outside seating and more people around (in colder weather it's a bit bleak over in that area, and a bit like a cafeteria inside). They have the same fantastic lobster rolls you can get at the other locations--my faves are the Maine and the Picnic, but I've also tried the Wasabi which is also tasty (and the lobster isn't overpowered). Today I wasn't hungry enough to take on an entire lobster roll so I ventured over to the non-lobster part of the menu: keep in mind that you can also get a burger here, or a grilled cheese or caprese or BBQ sandwich--and what I tried for the first time today, a red hot or Maine "snappah"! It was tasty and yep, snappy, and it hit the spot. We had just been on a long road trip from CT and wanted to try this once we got into Portland and also hit the Orange Bike Brewery and turned out they were in the same plaza! This is the Diamond Street location. I got the lobster flight of CT Lobster, Chipotle Mayo and the Curry and all were delicious. Note, each roll is very small so eating three is equal to about one regular roll. This was my favorite lobster I got in Portland. Very fresh. I have to say though my favorite was the CT Lobster. Can't beat a hot lobster roll. There are two other food truck locations. One at Allagash Brewing and one at Fort Williams Park but if you want to have a nice sit down and not eat from a food truck go to the Diamond St. location. You can order at the counter at the brewery. Side note, I got the gluten free roll and normally gluten free bread is terrible. This was the best gluten free bread I have ever had. It was like eating a grilled cheese. They also asked me if I wanted extra hot butter poured onto my CT lobster roll and I said yes please! So good.
