Posted hours of operation was till 5:30pm and we came in at 4:50pm. We were told machines were gonna be off at 5pm, but they had time. Both of us got our pictures taken, signature done and verified our information, all that was left was our address and to pay. We had what we were told we needed over the phone, but our address couldn't be verified for some reason, which isn't the attendants fault, but we were told they ran out of time and we had to come back a different day. I said I had the physical document they needed in my car, grabbed it and came back inside and the said its too late and they already shut down the machines. Mind you, it was still before 5pm at that time. Everything was complete apart from our address which I had info for. Waste of time. if they are going to turn people away who are there over 30 minutes before there posted closing time, they should say so. Two others came in and were turned away ID updating after we got there, which was still 30 min before close.

NONE of these states have an specific amount of customers to get their DL and then you aren't allowed to get them. Apparently there are only 20, yes TWENTY tickets they hand out to people who some show up at 3 am to get one to get their license. My family and I just recently moved from out of state and were shocked to find out that we had to come back the next day "early enough" to secure a ticket. If we don't then we'd have to go through the same song and dance. And NO you cannot make an appointment with their appointment system they tout on their site and in the DMV to use to make one. Stillwater is a walk in only. And for those DMV sites that have them - you are only have appointments available 60 days out. Or you can attempt to try to drive to another city to get one. For us some are as far as 200 miles away!! This is a joke! How is anyone supposed to get a new license when they've moved from out of state? In HI you make an appointment, and sometimes you're able to get an appointment for the next day. OR you can do a walk in and wait your turn. But no one is ever turned away unless it's time to close. They help as many people as they can to get what they need. Otherwise no one would be able to get a license!! Someone told us that you'll need to show up at the DMV at 3 am to get a ticket (1 out of 20) to get assistance. Hello OK is this what you call customer service? Is this what our tax dollars are going to? You cannot tell me that with the people that work for the DMV in each city can only help 20 people with their licenses?!?! That by far is the biggest scam I've heard so far. I will be emailing my Congress members to find out what in the heck is going on!! Cause I need my DL and I shouldn't be turned away due to only allowing 20 customers being helped. This needs to be changed! This is a poor example of customer service and a prime example of how terrible government is at running things. This is pathetic after experiencing much better service in several different states.

i went to the tag agency a few weeks ago to request a new driver license after i'd lost the…read moreprevious license, which surprisingly still has not surfaced. i'd entered at around 2pm, and was told the next available appointment was at 4pm, if i've remembered correct, so i'd gone to lunch before the appointment, and returned about thirty minutes prior. luckily, the worker in the office at the back of the business, in charge of driver licenses, called me about 15 minutes before the tentative appointment time. she also gathered the information and took the picture efficiently, with a friendly demeanor. though i'd not asked her name, she was wearing a stylish black eskimo joe sweater with purple and teal print, and explained to me that the sweater is given to workers at the tag agency when i'd asked if she has been to the now closed eskimo joe offshoot italian restaurant, joeseppi. no pun intended with offshoot pun and osu stillwater mascot. then, while i'm not certain that the worker gave me an expected time of arrival for the driver license, she did notify me that the license would arrive via mail, rather than the expectation with which i'd entered the tag agency of receiving the license there on the same day. that said, the license arrived the most recent saturday, and while the arrival was a little later than i'd expected, the difference between expectation and result was rather harmless. service requested - new driver license, not yet expired quality - service and license quality were excellent value - $25 and tax was relatively reasonable, though prorated price depending on date of expiration for license not expired seems appropriate, though it may have been already
