2.5 stars. It tastes like what I remember Pizza Hut tasting like as a kid. Tons of toppings, super heavy and greasy, a thick white bready crust. This is not pizza to write home about, though it does work in a pinch if you need an easy dinner after a day at the beach. We of course had pizza our first night here! It was great as usual! Turn days are super busy so we expected a wait! Then we got pizza and jalapeño chips another night! It was terrific! Be cautious the jalapeño chips are actual fried jalapeños! (delicious but spicy!) One day for lunch my two littles and I came in for lunch! We had a grilled chicken wrap, cheese burger and fries! Surprisingly delicious for an island pizza joint! Dough had a perfect hint of sweetness, and an amazing crunch-and-chew. We got a classic pep to go, and it was ready in just about 15 minutes despite two buses full of youths clogging up the restaurant. While it wasn't the best pizza I've ever had it was pretty good. It's also the only pizzeria on the island, so by default it's the best pizza around. Atmosphere is fun, they even have an arcade to give you that feel of your childhood. Service was very good. We had a large order and they were very accommodating. Everyone was nice and helpful with our order. We had every specialty pizza as well as the fried pickles, mushrooms, and onion rings. Had a to go large Margarita pizza this evening. The crust was like chewing bubble gum. My wife liked it but I prefer a crisper crust like Pepe's in New Haven CT. Well we had a wonderful meal here. Came here with 5 family members. I don't remember exactly what everyone had but we had no complaints. In fact a couple days later we highly considered going again. As for the wifey and I we had the White Chicken Bacon Pizza. That thing was very good. So if you're visiting the island - I'd say go, you'll enjoy your meal. People at the front counter were nice, had waited 45 minutes for my order and when I got there they had told me they were almost done and to go in the other room. I sat in the other room for 30 minutes waiting for my order, no answer. I left because they were going to send me a text. 3 years since our last visit and nothing has changed here: still the wonderful, funny wall art and college pennants, still with friendly staff, and most importantly, still excellent pizzas, loaded with toppings. My wife had a GF margherita pizza without garlic and I had a shrimp pesto pizza; we also split a garden salad. Really good pizza! We got it the first night when we got to SGI and the last night. I've seen reviews talking about the staff (in a negative way), but we had excellent service. The only negative for me is that on our last night I really wanted to try the Italian sub but when we called the order in around 5:30, we found out that subs and wraps are not available after 4:00. We ordered some pizza (a large pepperoni and a large margarita) after coming in from out of town. We called for takeout and the wait was on par for what they had told us (about 15-20 minutes). Honestly the pizza was pretty average, not bad but not great. The crust could use some more seasoning. It had more of a plain dough taste than a traditional pizza crust. I never leave reviews, but with what a poor experience this was I wanted other patrons to know what they're in for. Employees were rude, rolling their eyes at customers and interrupting them when inquiring about pizzas they were waiting on for over an hour. Shouting across the dining room at customers to move into another room for their to go orders and then screaming into the kitchen at the top of their lungs to check on orders instead of walking over. The counter staff at BJ's clearly didn't want to be there and didn't want to help the customers there either. One to-go pizza took over an hour when we were told it would only be 30-45 minutes. They were so deep in the weeds that no salads, no appetizers were allowed to be bought. The restaurant was completely overwhelmed and yet they still kept taking on orders even though they were struggling to get out the orders that were waiting for 2+ hours. Disorganized, chaotic environment, which I understand can happen on a busy night--but the lack of customer service about it is inexcusable. We will not be back. read more

"Saturday night in BJ's Pizza - SGI, I spent a week here one day." For those who don't understand the allusion to an old John Denver song, that means it was a long and frustratingly boring night. It began with first-step phone order, at which time I was told "45 minutes." One hour after the phone order, there was second-step payment at the cash register. Then the process continued on for a looooong time of waiting in a crowded indoor seating/standing area. The "system" for receiving your pizza consists of standing nearly shoulder to shoulder with other customers, some of whom are especially hangry, until someone at the kitchen door or window calls your name. The experience ended when I carried out my pizzas approx. 55 minutes after payment. With the drive to/from, that's 2+ hours from "Let's get pizzas, yeah!" to "I finally have the %$@# pizzas." I suppose that's the way it goes on the Saturday night of a Monday-holiday weekend, when you're at the only pizza place on an island. A more honest estimate of order-readiness time, and a simple system for informing customers their orders are actually ready (perhaps text-message based?) would go a long way toward smoothing out the bumps in customer experience, and still bring in revenue that small businesses need in times like these. How was the pizza? It had what I would describe as New-York style crust, and a reasonably liberal amount of cheese and toppings. For all the busyness of the place, I thought the crust was baked right, chewy but with a toasty crisp edge. read more

Got a Margherita pizza to go. Not exactly what I would consider a classic interpretation of the style. It was more like a white pizza with some tomato and basil tossed on top. They have been here on St. George Island for a long time offering an alternative to seafood. We came for pizza. A simple large pepperoni pizza that had a generous amount of cheese and a good coverage of pepperoni for 3 of us. Their crust was good if a little chewy with a nice browning on the bottom that added to the taste. The sauce is hardly noticeable in eating the pizza but the thick layer of cheese was quite welcome. You order at the counter, they give you a number card to put on your table and your food is delivered to you. Drinks are diy from nearby soda and tea dispensers. They also have bottle and draft beer choices. There are a few tables inside and a couple of tables outside. They seem to do a lot of takeout as well. read more

We were straying in the area and decided to try BJ's. We arrived and the place was clean and cute decor. It was December before Christmas break and only a couple people in the place on a Friday night. We walked to the counter and our order was taken promptly. We sat down and waited to take our pizza to go. Our order came out pretty quick pepperoni pizza and Buffalo chips. The pizza was thin crust.
