First of all the sisters who run it are wonderful and make you feel like you are at their home. The food is as good as any that I have eaten in Italy. I had the special which was cheese tortellini in a rich cheese sauce. I added a large meatball to cut the richness of the pasta. The balance of flavors were spot on. My wife had the lasagna. It was excellent. As a salad she had the baked caprese salad and it could have stood as a main dish. Great flavors. Skip the Caesar salad. The dressing was not the typical Caesar dressing. Not sure what it was. We finished with a lemon cake that was light and delicious. The wine list offered good options. We will return every time we are at St George Island. read more

This was my first time sitting down to eat here and I was quite disappointed. I ordered a glass of white wine, and instead of telling me that that wine wasn't cold yet the waitress poured a room temperature glass, gave it to me, and asked if I wanted ice. I then received the Cesar salad I ordered for my meal, and the lettuce was drenched in dressing too salty to eat. Fortunately, the shrimp were very good, so I didn't go hungry. The worst part wasn't the mistakes, but when I told the owner that the Cesar dressing was too salty to eat, she told me something to the effect of 'yeah, Cesar salads are salty' taking no responsibility and showing no interest in getting to the bottom of the issue. I am very particular. I cook everyday. I paid hard earned money to be disappointed and invalidated. If it's going to be like this every time, I don't want to go back. read more

I do not recommend Mangias for a special event like New Year's Eve. They split the food in half for the first hour and a half of the night and the second hour and a half. We had reservations for 6:15 and were told they were out of just about everything we wanted. But people that came in 15 mins after us had all those things we wanted. We were very upset and didn't think that was a great way to treat their guests that came first. We did complain and had a long talk with the owner. She gave us a discount on the food. But we still didn't get what we wanted in the first place. I think they should tell people when they make reservations not to make them at the end on the first half cuz you won't get anything. Not fair for us! The food we did end up getting was very good. But my husband ended up only getting a salad. read more

Had lunch here on a busy Thursday. Restaurant is clean and warm inside. Our waitress/hostess was very busy but we were seated quickly. She was attentive and kind. The menu is varied and interestingly fun. We ordered a muffuletta sandwich and a house salad to share. The salad had walnuts in it that were hard and one got stuck in my tooth. The sandwich came later and was warm and greasy with the meats. We could have used a little more of the famous olive mixture. We enjoyed our meal and will come back to try something else. read more

A hidden gem just over the bridge from SGI. Wasn't expecting much with the simple decor but we were pleasantly surprised. Staff super friendly. Menu limited compared to other Italian restaurants but everything was amazing. I encourage you to consider their specials which change daily. Our entrees included the Special Pasta Bolognese, Tortellini Marinara, Stuffed Shells, Linguini in Aurora Sauce with Grilled Chicken. The Bread and Salads were delightful. The bolognese was outstanding--easily one of the best I've ever had. You could tell it had been slow-cooked with care. The sauce was rich and flavorful, perfectly balanced, and paired beautifully with the fresh pasta. Every bite was memorable. The service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere was warm and comfortable without feeling too formal. Everything we ordered was solid, but the bolognese really stood out. We try to go to the Florida Panhandle every year in our rv. This year we met friends at an rv park and decided to try this little gem. There were 6 of us. Everyone ordered something different, and everyone was very happy with their food. We love Italian and Mangia knows how to make it. The owner checked on us to make sure everything was to our liking. Love this place and will definitely go back when we return. We always go to this area for the seafood, it was such a nice change to have a new restaurant that wasn't just seafood! read more

The only Italian restaurant on the Forgotten Coast and it's worth the trip. Service was good. Everyone was attentive to our needs. It's not fancy or quiet, but the food is good. The chicken parm was a large breast with a tasty and crispy coating. Lasagna had several layers of cheese and pasta with a load of melted mozzarella and beef sauce on top. The pasta was not mushy at all which happens all too often with lasagna. It took no time for the food to arrive either. Be aware that many of the menus online are wrong. There is a limited selection of entrees. The crowd starts coming in about 6pm so might have to wait for a table if you get there after that. read more

Nice dinner, great salad, bread. Really enjoyed my chicken parmesan and pasta dish. My husband got lasagna, which he really liked, but it was a little too rich for me. We came because we wanted to get eggplant parmigiana, but they don't make that anymore, instead they're doing fried green tomato parmigiana. Hoping someday they bring back the eggplant parmigiana. Four of us enjoyed lunch including the caprese salad, tortellini, pasta with Italian meatball, Italian Grinder, and their special Panini with corned beef and pastrami. People need to be made aware that this is not the same restaurant. Management has changed hands. The previous owner and chief Italian is no longer there. There are no Italians in the kitchen.
