In the words of the great George Bush, "Fool me once, shame on.... You. Fool me can't get fooled again.". I am sad to report that I was fooled again. I've been a semi regular at BJ's over the last year and was initially pretty excited about it - Good beer, good meaty pizzas.... But the last 3 times I've been to BJ's, the service has deteriorated exponentially to the point I can never return. Let me tell you about the last straw..... Dinner began as normal - Drinks and food were brought out timely, but I could never have known what would happen next. When I was handed my refill of slightly flat, watered down Dr. Pepper from my waitress, I couldn't help but notice the bottom of the glass was hot. No matter, the drink was sufficiently cold. I set the cup on the table, took a bite of my Epic Five Meat pizza, took the slightest moment to blink... BANG! I opened my eyes to find my glass had exploded, splitting itself perfectly in half, with my 20 ounces of slightly flat, watered down Dr. Pepper evacuating the glass as if it were the Titanic in reverse, spilling onto my pants, shoes, table and my entire side of the booth. As it turns out, the hot glass with an ice cold drink in it was indeed...... The matter. Unfortunately, as a result of the glass exploding, it was unclear, how much, if any shards of glass were left in mine and my party's food. When we attempted to wave our waitress down, she seemed to understand something had happened and reassured us, "I'll get him a new drink." A new drink was the least of my problems. I needed a towel. Thankfully a single towel was brought to us, and the waitress left it while she went to get me another drink, presumably with a bus boy on their way any minute to clean up the remnants of the exploded glass. The bus boy never came. As it appears to me, I, the patron soaked in slightly flat, watered down Dr. Pepper, dealing with the shock of being served an IED with slightly flat, watered down Dr. Pepper as the accelerant, was expected to clean the mess up. There I was, standing in the middle of the restaurant soaked with slightly flat, watered down Dr. Pepper waiting for solutions. Help was not on the way. The waitress brought me a new drink, but with myself and the booth still soaked there was nowhere to enjoy my slightly flat, watered down Dr. Pepper, so we asked to speak with the manager. When arriving on the scene of the exploding slightly flat, watered down Dr. Pepper, the manager seemed to explain what happened, "Looks like you were given a hot glass and it exploded." To which I responded, "Yes. It appears I was.". I explained to the manager that I was not comfortable eating food that possibly had some extra glass seasoning on it from my explosive slightly flat, watered down Dr. Pepper. He seemed to be confused as to what should happen next. He offered to remake the food, but with myself and the booth still soaked, there would be nowhere to enjoy them. So our bill was heavily discounted for the food that was ordered, and I left stickier and sadder than I entered. I, as a man of morals, living by the wise words of George Bush, cannot return to this establishment to, "Get fooled again." And no, human beings and glass shards cannot coexist peacefully. We frequent BJ's in Arlington often, but unfortunately, this visit was by far the worst experience we've had. My potstickers were overcooked, my husband's wings were dry and rubbery, and the fries came out cold. The food just completely missed the mark this time around. On a positive note, our waiter, Xavier, was very accommodating and understanding. He adjusted our check without hesitation, and we only ended up paying for our drinks, which we appreciated. He did mention they were short-staffed that day, and sadly, it really showed in the quality of our meal. Hopefully next time--if there is a next time--things will be back to the standard we're used to. read more

What I like about BJ's is that you can have a sampling of all their craft beers, and of course all the appetizers that they provide. Went there on a Friday night with a bunch of people. After a big event, we all sat around in with multiple tables, and the staff was wonderful, they did a great job helping all of us, I think there was about 30 of us there. All we have were appetizers but the other times I've been at this establishment if we've had the ribs and they were good. But the main reason to going there is trying out their craft beers. What started out as a bad visit turned into a better one because of the waitress that eventually showed up. We came in and was sat down quickly. Then we sat, and we sat. After about 10 minutes I got up and asked some one if anyone was coming. It was way to long to sit and not even get a drink order. We were not happy. I can't recall the waitress name, but she made up ground when she finally came around. She stayed on top of our drinks and the food came quickly. Wife had the Kick'n Chicken, and it was really good. The menu makes it appear as tho the slaw on the sandwich is spicy, tho it is not. The sauces they add are the spicy parts to the meal. I had the guacamole bacon burger and it was good as always. Not bad during lunchtime on a Thursday afternoon. They offer $12 lunch specials which weren't bad. The food was good, we both had the unlimited soup & salad combo. I was pleased that the soup (came chowder) came out hot! The portion of salad (caeser) was a pretty good size. For an appetizer we had the cous cous mac n cheese balls, surprisingly this didn't come out as warm/hot as expected but we still enjoyed it. S'mores pizookie, yes, get this. Perfectly on the marshmallows, what a treat! There was an issue with the table next to us, from my own observation since we arrived they had just been complaining in general, super needy & seemed to be in a bad mood... probably taking it out on the staff. We had the same waitress, she was doing a fine job... it just seemed like they wanted things for free. They even complained about how far they drove (no one made you go there) & one of them said it was because she was black, which the manager (who came over promptly at the start of the whole ordeal) stated that he too was black (also obvious), & he handled the situation with much professionalism... as did the waitress. The entire staff we had no issue with, hostess included. Atmosphere gets docked a bit, menus were sticky, bathroom was meh. Some concerns about upkeep when it wasn't too busy. I arrived at 11:30 before the lunch rush. A lot of people were showing up alone for meetings so,I guess this is popular for that. I see why. Super convenient location right of the freeway in Arlington 1/2 way between Dallas and Ft Worth. Without going into a lot of detail,I'm sure this is a rubber stamp of all other BJ locations. I fell in love with BJ's in Houston many moons ago, back when a location popped up directly across the street from my job. It quickly became the go-to spot for lunches that stretched a little too long and happy hours that started right on time. It held a special place in my little food loving heart....until recently. My family of nine stopped in expecting a quick, casual meal. "Quick" turned out to be wildly optimistic. We waited about 10 minutes to be seated--fair enough, considering our party size and lack of a reservation. Unfortunately, that was the smoothest part of the evening. Once seated, nearly an hour passed before food began to arrive--and even then, it came out in waves. Two or three plates at a time, followed by ten-minute gaps before the next round appeared. By the time the final plates landed, the first diners were long finished. The food itself was actually pretty decent, which made the pacing all the more frustrating. Then came the wait for the beloved pizookies. Another pause. And when dessert finally arrived, our dinner plates were still crowding the table. While I don't expect fine-dining formality at BJ's, clearing plates before dessert--especially with limited table space--feels like Restaurant 101. When I asked for the table to be cleared, only my plate was removed; the rest were left behind. Our server was... cordial. Efficient, yes. Warm or welcoming? Not even close. She offered helpful insight when taking orders, but over the course of two hours, not a single smile made an appearance. Worse, whenever we needed her, she seemed to vanish. Meanwhile, we couldn't help but notice other servers actively checking in, engaging with, and attending to the tables around us. I'm not sure why the service missed the mark so badly, but the overall experience was deflating. The whole experience just ended up feeling like a letdown. Service pro tip: People may forget what you said or even what they ate--but they'll always remember how you made them feel. read more

Went in just to order dessert (party of 2), after getting sat and not being helped for 10 minutes a manager finally asked if we had been helped and took our order. Our server did not stop by once, we waited for about 30 minutes after getting our dessert and just simply wanted to pay. Our server proceeded to ignore us and not help us. After finally getting a manager she wanted to help, we said we were happy to just speak with a manager and she got an attitude and said "well I am your table server". I will say management was helpful, just make sure your servers are trained and capable of handling bigger parties and smaller tables at once. read more

I visited about two weeks ago on a Tuesday night with a group of eight for the $5 pizookie special, and the experience has stuck with me, in a way I wish it hadn't. I'm not usually someone who complains; I work in the food industry myself, so I understand how hectic service can be. Still, what happened that night felt avoidable and disappointing. We were seated and waited nearly 15 minutes before anyone approached our table. When our server, Carlos, finally came by to take drink orders, he seemed impatient as we went around the table. We mentioned we were ready to order, and before anyone said a word, he cut in with, "You're here for pizookies." One off moment is understandable, so my friends and I didn't think anything of it, but his attitude didn't improve from there. After dropping off waters, he immediately walked off and over to another table and was noticeably warm and joking with their family and children, very different from the blunt, detached service we received. Most of us had come specifically for the Spookie Pizookie, and more than half the table ordered it. When the desserts arrived, Carlos slid a cookies & cream pizookie in front of each person who ordered the Spookie. He walked off immediately, giving us no chance to ask about the change. It took another 5-10 minutes to flag him down, and when we explained the issue, he sighed and told us they were out of the orange-dyed vanilla ice cream and that "it's basically the same thing." The whole reason we were there was for the limited-edition hard chocolate drizzle and presentation with the ice cream overall, which is something a quick explanation beforehand would have easily cleared up. Throughout the meal, he didn't check on us once. Friends who had finished their drinks had to ask other servers for refills. Our attempts of flagging him down were useless. It's not like there was a group of 8 standing at their corner booth table visibly confused looking for their server! When it came time to pay, he was again visibly impatient and didn't even leave us a pen to sign our checks. After card payments were taken, he walked off, and we eventually had to get up and find a pen ourselves. I love this franchise, and pizookies have always been a fun pick-me-up. That's why this visit was so disappointing. It takes a lot for me to write a negative review, but the service we received from Carlos that night truly fell short of what experiences I've had in the past. read more

It started with the to go server telling me I didn't place my order when I had the receipt in my hand, just for them to say that they lost my order, then after waiting for 29 minutes for a pizookie and 2 drinks she brings the order out to the car with half full drinks and a portion of the pizookie order missing. Not trying to call out any of the other locations, but the BJs in Addison (where I live) leaves a lot to be desired compared to this location.
