Had dinner here while staying the night in Arlington. We were sat immediately and our server was great. She got us drinks right away and was very pleasant. I had the ribeye with a side salad and my wife got the filet with shrimp and some tortilla soup. Everything was hot and fresh. The steaks were cooked perfectly and were so delicious. Well to start with the appetizer being was cold, we had spinach artichoke dip that was sol cold the sour cream did not ever melt? I ordered tenders and shrimp that was also cold also, I sent it back to be reheated and 15 minutes later I got it back still cold ? I was especially disappointed in the baked potato, who wants to eat a cold potato. The bad part was I got back less protein on my plate from the reheat? My wife's food was fine. In my opinion my experience at Saltgrass Arlington South did not live up to Landry's quality. The server made mistakes on multiple orders at my table, and service was unsatisfactory. This is not what I expected and will likely not return. We were rushed to order and service was slow. We were never checked on throughout the meal, and the certain menu items were not available but wasn't made aware at time of ordering, yet 20 mins later. Tonight we visited Saltgrass Steakhouse in Arlington. While the food itself was delicious, the service was extremely disappointing. Our server, Devon G., never checked on our table, did not ask how our food was, and never offered refills--our glasses remained empty throughout the meal. Instead, his attention was consistently focused on the table behind us. It was upsetting to spend a family night out feeling completely ignored during our entire dinner. This review in no way is a reflection on the waitress, who has waited on us many times. My wife, son and I went to Saltgrass for a late lunch. The Hostess was great, waitress was great. The disconnect started when they brought out our food. I had ordered Chicken Fried Steak with flash fried green beans on the lunch menu. My son ordered Chicken Fried Chicken and mac and cheese on the lunch menu. The first issue was they brought son fried okra on his plate. While the waitress was fixing that, he and I both cut into and took a bite our meat. I had been given his Chicken Fried Chicken. He was given my Chicken Fried Steak. The waitress took the plates back. After about 5 minutes, Ceaser, I believe he runs the kitchen, brought the plates back out. Both had an extreme amount of gravy. My Chicken Fried Steak was about half size. Removing the gravy off the end, we saw that both meats had been cut into, the breading was gone. I asked Ceaser, along with my son, if this was the same meat that was brought to each of us in error we had eaten off of. At first he acted like he did not understand. Then after repeating the question, he admitted it was the same meat. He had simply switched it to the correct plate and brought it back out. I believe under Tarrant County Health guidelines he can not bring out a dish that has been served and eaten off of. He contaminated any item in the kitchen he used doing this. He tried to reserve meat that had been eaten off of by another person. Then he tried to play the I don't understand English card. I made him take the plates off of the bill. The Manager, I believe Mr Cardgill, has failed to call or respond to a requested call on this issue. The wife and I eat at this Saltgrass once to twice a week. I am not sure we will go back. I recommend that you avoid this place. At least till Ceaser has been properly trained on sanitary food handling practices and serving a dish to a customer that another customer has ate off of. read more

This was the first time I got to try saltgrass, I've always seen one on the highway every once in a while but have never been. Tonight was the first night, I was really craving some steak and this place did not disappoint. Their steak and baked potato filled me well. And the ambiance was so nice. My only note was our waiter wasn't really present the whole time. And I saw an ant on my plate toward the end of the meal!! Our server, Anthony, was excellent. Although he seemed to be super busy, he was very attentive and friendly. Great attitude. The ambiance was perfect during lunchtime. It wasn't too dark or too bright. The booth seating was comfortable, and the western decor was as I would expect from a steakhouse. I had the seafood fondue. I would have given an extra star for this review if the restaurant used baked french bread for the garlic bread used with this dish rather than grilled sandwich bread. I would have given an extra star if the restaurant had used shrimp cocktail-sized shrimp cut up into pieces, rather than the tiny popcorn shrimp sized shrimp they use in that dish. Do not waste your time !!! Horrible service took 15-20 minutes to start an order after we had a reservation. For a coworkers birthday party. We did not provide any bad comments to our waiter after so many bad manners we experienced while eating felt like we were being rushed to eat and didn't even take our orders correctly. After so we got the checks each paid separately and the waitress then decided to bring us back receipts to add tips we all ensured tip was given up to the standards met. I provided her a tip when she was disrespectful and rude the whole service and still got yelled at and harassed across the restaurant while managers did nothing but apologize after so we sat for a few minutes she came back to yell at our table about her tip not meeting her satisfaction and of course we stood up went to management and told them that was humiliation and harassment making the environment so hostile they provided NOTHING but charges for food we did not order nor approved charges and can't seem to refund us stating that they can do nothing about the experience! Mother's Day dinner fail. Reservations at 4, got seated around 430. Once the server finally made it to the table we ordered drinks and an app. The appetizer came out before we even had water (if that tells you how this is going to go). An hour later (meanwhile the waiter never came over to check on us or ask if we needed more bar drinks) our food arrived and it was cold and over cooked, two sides were completely wrong. Sent two of the plates back to be warmed up (at this point we didn't want to wait any longer) and that didn't help bc the quality wasn't there either. The steak tasted gritty and not the quality of steak we've experienced there before. The Brussels sprouts were burnt to a crisp, no green in sight. Unfortunately we all left unsatisfied and barely ate the food. The assistant manager did give us a discount but that didn't even cover the two plates that were sent back or the plate of food my father took one bite of. Our first time dining here. When we visit Dallas/Arlington in the future, we will definitely eat here again! Everything we ordered was delicious (the Herb Rice was a little over cooked but the flavor was good). A steak is delicious and flavorful when I don't have to add steak sauce and the Maudeen's Filet was cooked to perfection! We also had the Queso Fresco with Brisket and it was delicious! Laila was our server. Although the restaurant was pretty full, she was there to discuss menu options and offer excellent food/drink suggestions within five minutes of our arrival. She was very knowledgeable about the menu as well as very personable and attentive. The one thing I would change about the restaurant (and most steakhouses) is more lighting at the tables. Most restaurants lighting is pretty dim. I have to use the light on my phone to read the print. read more

I had never been to a Saltgrass, but my friend recommended their happy hour to me. I was there about 3:30 and sat at the bar. It looks like they get a pretty regular crowd, as the bar tender seemed to be familiar with a few. I had skipped lunch and thought I would grab a glass of wine and something snacky, so I can not comment on their entrees or the quality of their steaks. This is all about happy hour, but oh lord did I underestimate what I was getting into. First off, their $5 glass of wine is a 9oz pour and they have half priced appetizers. The first one listed is called a Range Rattler. Now, I am not super big on deep fried things, but I LOVE jalapenos. Add some shrimp to it and I am down. They brought them out on a tray. They were HUGE, like four bite huge. They didn't have any spice but they were filled with cheesy goodness and a whole large shrimp. It also came with a stack of thinly fried onions. All of it was delicious and VERY filling. That ended up being my lunch and dinner and I didn't finish it all. I was very pleasantly surprised with my visit and will totally be back. Everything I saw coming from the kitchen looked delicious and I was busted eyeballing a mans green beans. I love a good steak, medium rare, but I find that some places really overlook their veggies. First, it would be more convenient for online orders if the website accepted gift cards to pay for orders. Since that was not an option, I had to call the location to place my order. After holding for 10 minutes, I hung up and called back. I was on hold again for 5 minutes, then disconnected. I called for the third time and was on hold for 2 minutes, then someone took my order. The person who took my order was very courteous and professional. But, is a total of 17 minutes on hold considered an acceptable length of time for a customer placing an order? If I didn't have a gift card, I definitely would have given up and ordered food elsewhere. read more

Our third time back here for dining and this time, we brought 4 other tennis friends for happy hour + dinner. We enjoyed the experience. Couple dishes has to be sent back.. over-salted steak and over-sugary my teeth hurts type of watermelon cocktail! Bartender need to be made aware and learn to make it summer fresh taste without so much syrup! Has she or he even tried these cocktails on the menu? Many of us are into a healthier lifestyle and healthy eating these days; i think restaurants should really switch it up and have a healthy menu from now on. With that being said, the crab cakes appetizer was such a hit! So delicious 3 of us ordered it. The rib-eyed steaks were decently priced and cooked medium rare the way we liked it. Trey, the new Manager has a great, welcoming personality and checks on us a couple times. Our server was on it most of the time thus we all tipped her well. One of our buddies ordered to go dish as well. We usually like to dine at Lazy Dog but they are getting bad with glazing up most of the food there, thus we start to search and try new places where a healthier menu is not being compromised.
