I took my daughter and son-in-law to this restaurant yesterday (Sunday) for lunch after not having been to a BJ's Restaurant in several years, and I was incredibly disappointed with with my food. We all had water to drink, the spinach-artichoke dip appetizer, they each had a burger and fries, they each had a mini pizookie, and I had the Santa Fe salad. The meal came to over $107 with tip which, was too expensive for a lunch that just wasn't good. The waitress did a great job, however, even if she looked like she was being forced to do some serious salesmanship on us. My daughter and son-in-law said their burgers and fries were just okay (although perfectly cooked to order), but my super expensive salad was not good at all. It was bagged, not fresh lettuce, and had been sitting somewhere awhile. Perhaps it had been vacationing on some warm tropical isle and was overly distraught that it had to come back to work, but by the time it got to me, it was just so, so tired. It had had enough. It decided to give up right there on the plate. So sad. You know how it gets, when the edges get slimy and kind of curl over? When it has that gassy-baggy smell and taste? It was dark in the restaurant (I think we know why now, and it isn't for ambience), so I couldn't see at first what the problem is. So when I started eating a $18.49 salad, I didn't think I'd have to dig through it and see if it were suitable for an activity like actual eating. I couldn't have imagined they would proudly serve me a salad that was mucky. Said salad was supposed to come with avocados, but only three tiny cubes bothered to show up. I don't know where the rest of it ended up. There were no red onions, and there were no tomatoes. Maybe they were all at church praying for forgiveness. The chicken itself was decent, if a little little and a little dry (but who wants wet chicken when the rest of the salad was just that, am I right?). On the menu, it says: "...the Santa Fe Salad at BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse is the perfect lunch dish to break up the doldrums of the workday." Maybe it's because it wasn't a normal "workday," it being Sunday and all. But I think there was a typo because the salad itself *was* the doldrums. read more

Going to lunch with my wife. We wanted to have a nice hamburger. So with BJ restaurant and order a Bacon Cheese with fries. The food and service excellent. We enjoy the meal. Good place to go to lunch and was a quiet place to have a conversation. read more

PLEASE DO NOT EAT HERE! My experience was awful from start to finish. The ambiance was very unclean, as I found a dried piece of food in my utensil napkin. The waitress took away our appetizer while we were still eating, then disappeared for over 40 minutes while I tried to order actual food. When I finally got my beer (which they do not check ID for), it came without the salt rim I requested, and the food arrived lukewarm. Speaking to the manager made things worse--he was rude, shifted blame onto me (said it was my fault for not requesting salt rim...which I did) and promised to remove items from the check but didn't follow through. Went with a friend yesterday. We both ordered the Thursday special, which was a slow roasted Sirloin steak. He asked for his medium, I got mine medium rare. When the food arrived, his was pink and juicy on the inside. Mine was dry and grey. Obviously not mid-rare. Gordon Ramsey would have slammed his fist into it, issuing a stream of expletives. I was simply going to ask our waitress if I could get one cooked to the temperature I asked for. She was nowhere to be found. Finally asked another waitress, who went to find her. Finally our waitress appeared, trying to explain that, because they were slow roasted you can't get mid-rare. I asked why my friend's medium was pink and mine was grey and she said the manager could explain it better. He came over and his explanation was no better. They finally took my plate to refire the steak, so I'm left with nothing to eat while my friend is eating. Ten minutes later they bring my new steak. Looked better: pink and juicy. But as I got more in the center the meat was overly chewy and hard to swallow. It was more like rare to mooing in the middle. What made things even worse is the waitress brought out our desserts while I was trying to eat this. Desserts with ice cream. Which was melting as I watched. Gave up on the steak, and ate the equally disappointing dessert which looked nothing like the deep-dish brownie on the menu. It was thin and yet still under baked. We have been here several times and it was nice. Unfortunately the last 2 times were not. Last night, New Year's Eve we stopped in to get dinner. My lemon drop was less than half the glass, our waiter was very nice but very slow. I ordered the sliders with FF and they came with nothing on them. I asked for the grilled onions and he said sure but never came back. We waited 20 minutes to get the check and finally paid on the app. I could maybe understand if it was busy but it was very slow. This is where the compliments end, because the rest of the food was average at best (other than the mozzarella and tomato salad with a balsamic dressing). They had run out of prime rib so I got the ribeye which was absolutely underwhelming for the price. The boneless wings were downright terrible (more like doughballs than actual chicken pieces. While the food was excellent and the table service was outstanding, the wait times both to get seated and then for our food were unacceptable - not because of their times but because of the circumstances. First, don't bother using the waitlist app - the hostesses basically put us back at the bottom when we checked in anyway, if the app was anywhere accurate. Our bigger issue was when we noticed every table around us that had been seated after us and ordered after us getting their food. After another 15 minutes and my girls threatening to leave, I finally asked the manager to check it out, which he did. Our server Heather was also trying to figure out why our order wasn't ready, and we appreciated both of them working to get our order made - which we think they dropped. Given all of that, the food was great! My wife had the Chicken Mediterranean Tacos, and she commented how outstanding the tabouli tasted! (Don't switch the side!) my daughters had the soba noodles and chicken Alfredo, both really good and sizable portions! I did a simple deep dish pizza, and it was delicious. We appreciated being comped a pizookie for our troubles, and we believe the manager and server were deeply embarrassed by this. We weren't the only issue they were addressing - the table behind us had their order incorrect. We plan to come back and I look forward to upgrading this rating. There's a good opportunity if the kitchen staff can get it together. Rooting for them. read more

Normally we have an ok visit. Like most we love the pzookie. Today sadly wasn't good. Not very busy and they had time to make it good. Pepsi and mt dew flat. The queso was warm at best. I tried the Strawberry Fields Chicken Salad today and it was tasty but I thought it might better with some pecans in it. Imagine my surprise when I found 1/2 a pecan in my last bite. Got here and were seated immediately. Got our drinks, our server was distracted though. He took our order and then came back about 20 minutes later and said that they didn't have what my husband had ordered. So he found something else that he wanted and ordered that. The server did apologize and offered us a free dessert, which we accepted. Then my husband ordered a second margarita and it took about 20 more minutes to get that. It wasn't a bad experience, but it wasn't anything that I was excited about either. If you want an American chain restaurant with beer, this is your spot. We came on a Saturday evening at about 6 and had a very short wait before we were seated. They put 6 of us on a table for 4 with these micro wings extended. It may have worked if it were a legal judgement, but for comfort and ease of eating it was a train wreck. Worse, it was crammed in between other full tables making it a bumper pool of staff trying to navigate around chairs. NOTHING gets under my skin more than my chair being hipped because waiters can't get between seatings. The waiter was very good, very attentive and trying to do a great job. The only problem is that the kitchen must have been short handed or they are not designed for a full house. The food was excruciatingly long. No, I'm not generally impatient, but when the waiter apologizes for the third time re: the delay of the food - you know some thing is up. We started off with the Best Beginnings Appetizer Combo. I had four hungry young men with me so they plowed right through it. It's a tasty version of the industrialized food business, but for quality - it's not winning any marks. Small bowl of chips with spinach & artichoke dip, four fried mozzarella sticks, four pieces of a different egg roll, and six or eight chunks of buffalo wings with ranch sauce. I went with the Santa Fe Salad. I have gotten this a number of times at a different BJ's. I asked for the dressing on the side. I got it both on the salad and on the side. Bonus round! But not what I wanted. This one was just a mess of mix. I got everything in huge quantities but it was hard to figure out the flavor going here. All I got was dressing when I ate anything. On Monday evening we went in to enjoy a nice meal and what we got really was anything but. We should have known from the ten minute wait to be seated when we could only view about a dozen or so patrons in the restaurant at the time. The staff while friendly and as attentive as could be, but the one waitress we could see seemed to be overwhelmed performing multiple duties in addition to trying to be attentive to her tables. We ordered a Mediterranean Tacos and Ribeye. The Mediterranean tacos came with a cuscus salad that was uneatable due shear about or vinegar in it, and the tacos had so much acidity to them they actually irritated the skin. The ribeye was of significant size and perfectly cooked; however there was not an ounce of flavor to the meat, the visible seasoning did nothing to enhance the flavorless meat, and the only saving grace was the mushrooms and onions I ordered to go with the steak. Simply put, if you are going to charge steakhouse prices for your steaks, it should have steakhouse flavor. Due to the issue with the Mediterranean plate, we finally flagged down an employee to the let overwhelmed waitress know we needed some attention. And while she didn't hesitate to try and make the issue right, we now had two different meals at two different times, and it turned what should have been a plesant evening into an evening of regret. While it's been a while since I have eaten at a BJ's, I have never had such issues before. I don't know if this is a location issue, or a one off situation. I asked specifically-does the wine I ordered have a screw top or a cork ...I do not have a cork screw. (Ordering delivery). "Oh yea we have a cork screw" Oh it comes with a cork screw? Great. Well, she must not have known what a cork screw was? It did not come with a cork screw. Sucks when you ask when you order, & they still get it wrong, but you have to deal with consequences. Could be worse-but maybe have someone who knows what a cork screw is answering the phone should be priority #1! It was appreciated- Since then- I was over charged paying for 4 drinks... when a friend of mine picked up the tab for 2 of them. We paid for 6 drinks between the 2 of us and had 4. Maybe it was a mistake? Or maybe they didn't think I would talk to my friend? The situation with the "cork screw"- was just one week from the "over charging" for drinks. I ordered online for pickup. I ordered avocado egg rolls and they were great. Here is the issue....I ordered brisket nachos. Pictures show all this brisket on it, we'll mine maybe had 2 spoonfuls and hardly any cheese. So little that some chips were brown. I wish I took a picture. For 16 dollars I thought it would be better. Now to the ribeye.....thin not thick pathetic skinny asparagus...now the fries that I chose to go with it were good. My mom and I stopped here on our way home from San Marcus. Did some shopping and worked up an appetite. The hostess was very friendly and advised us that we could sit anywhere in the bar. The two open booths still had plates on them, so we grabbed a high top. Our waiter was awesome. He was fast and professional. We decided on the brussel sprouts. They came out hot and fresh. Oh man.. so this will be my final review on bj's because I've decided after 3 consecutive times of terrible service , it's not worth returning. My last visit I was served a pizookie with completely melted ice cream , super soggy cookie, and I waited over 30 minutes for it. So the manager provided me with a 25 dollar voucher after I called and explained the experience . Came in with my friends and we had one of the worst waiters I've EVER had. This guy talked to a table of 5 girls in a manner that was completely unprofessional , impolite, and in my opinion gross . Food once again took forever to come out, and was not good at all. My friend ordered a steak with a salad and after eating the salad he returned with all our food and informed her they were out of her steak. Do they not check this in the 45 minutes between us ordering and receiving food???? PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY. This location specifically just has horrible service, overpriced food, and extremely long wait times. Hit a chili's down the road and receive much better service lol. read more
