I made reservations before dinning in right after my son's graduation and it wasn't as packed as I would have expected. We arrived 15mins before the reservation and they were able to sit us right away. Our waitress was nice even when I asked her to recommend me a drink. She recommended three drinks, the most popular ones and I tried them all. She had a good personality which made our dining experience even better. The food was delicious, my husband ordered the baby back ribs which were good but after trying my sirloin he couldn't go back to them. Which is to say, their sirloin was excellent! Of course you'd have to get the poozokies. It was also my birthday so I received the birthday one which was much bigger than the poozokie flight. It was the strawberry one. You got to choose one. They were very generous for the birthday dessert. The ambiance was also great.! Everybody was having a good time and we were able to sit on a booth facing the bar area, and which gives you the whole view of the restaurant. They also have cornhole boards out front in case you're waiting for your table. It would have been nice to take my drink out there and play a few games with my family. First time getting to try this restaurant. Attended during lunch time with a friend. I was greeted right away, and placed on the waiting list. Entry way was empty i did not have to wait long before being seated. The hostess was very polite, told me all about the specials and pizookies. The waiter was patient and present. We waited about 30 minutes for the waiter to take our drink order. After receiving our drinks, we waited about 20 minutes for straws, sugar, and cream. We had to ask a different server for lemon, that was never brought. Then our waiter took orders from two different tables who were seated after us. I had to get his attention and ask if there was a reason he was not waiting on us. He said, "I assumed you were not ready." I said, "but you never asked." He immediately got an attitude and said, " well I am here now!" So sorry, unacceptable. I asked for my soup to come with my salad. The salad came first, and ate it while my daughter enjoyed her side salad. No soup! When he took the empty plate I asked if could have another salad with my soup, he replied, with the same kind of soup? To which I replied, I have not had soup yet! Then my soup came when they delivered my daughter meal. No salad for me, and her chicken was ice cold. A different server took her plate to kitchen, still no salad, when her new plate of warmer food arrived. I had to finally ask for a box to take my salad home, when it arrived as my daughter finished her meal. Again, unacceptable. When I asked for containers our waiter rushed to get our things packed up, and handed us the bill, where he had double charged us. Again, unacceptable. To end positive, the food tasted great. After taking our order and getting our drinks we never saw her again until way after our food came. No refills, no checking up. When she finally came we were pretty much finished. Then we finished our meal and were waiting to order a pazookie and again she was nowhere to be found. Granted it was a Saturday evening and not busy. Not packed or anything out wait was only 30 minutes but still. Seemed like a long time to wait and I'm pretty patient. Food: First the good. New Belgium Voodoo was a great hazy IPA. The guacamole from the sampler was fresh and excellent. The spaghetti from the chicken parmigiana was pretty good as well. The bad. First we got our appetizer (the sampler) well after our entree. Like multiple bites in. We were hungry and looking forward to appetizer and had to wait. The mozzarella sticks were fine but cold. No cheese pull. The wings tasted great but unfortunately were barely warm. Don't want to say cold, but they were close. The sliders.....very disappointing. Meat was so dry. Like I've had jerky that was more moist and I'm literally not kidding. Flavor was fine (it's a burger) but I had to drink water with every bite. I've been here when everything clicked and it was a great night out. I've also been here when we waited 20 minutes to get our drink order taken and another 45 for food that came out lukewarm. same location, totally different energy depending on the day and who you get. for a chain with this much experience it shouldn't feel like a gamble. the space is nice and its open late which matters in Fresno where options thin out after 10pm. My daughter had a Dr. appointment in Fresno and when she was done we were hungry. We were debating on going back home to Merced or grabbing something to eat in Fresno. Several options were suggested and BJ's was one of them. First time going to BJ's and although it is pricy it was delicious. I really wanted to like this place, but wow... what a mess. We came in for a birthday celebration, and while most of the food came out at a decent time, one person in our party was basically forgotten. Their food didn't come out until AFTER the rest of us had already finished eating. Like... what?? At that point, what are they even supposed to do--just sit there and eat alone? Yeah, they brought the fries out first, but that doesn't exactly make up for everything else being ridiculously late. And it somehow got worse. When the food finally came out, there was a literal piece of gum stuck to the bottom of the plate. Disgusting. The entire plate had to be sent back. At that point the whole birthday vibe was already ruined. Then we asked for a to-go box for pizza, and they bring out a USED box. Crumbs inside, greasy like it had already been used for someone else's food. That's honestly unacceptable. What's even more frustrating is that after mistake after mistake, we asked if anything could be comped considering how bad the experience was, and they couldn't even do that. No real effort to make things right. First impressions matter, and this was mine. For a place charging around $18 for 8-10 wings, you'd expect at least basic quality and service. We came here with a party of 8 for a birthday and it was very nice for a last-minute option (newsflash: it's really hard to get a dinner reservation for a large party on a Friday in December). The place was absolutely packed but our table was ready when we arrived and in fact was the nicest and most pleasant table for 8 that I've ever experienced. I don't believe I'd ever experienced a "booth for eight" but it was cool, a four-sided booth, two people on each side. You get in on one corner and you scoot in two directions if that makes sense. It was really nice compared to a typical long table for 8. It was really easy for everyone to talk to everyone else. Everyone agreed we really loved that table and if you have a group of 8 it might be worth coming here just for that! The service was great. We had Bradley most of the evening and then Johan finished up when Bradley went on break. Both guys were very friendly and good humored and seemed to want to make sure we had a good time and had what we needed. Our group can be a bit silly and jokey and both guys handled us well! ;) They also -- and I really want to mention this -- didn't rush us out at all: when we looked at the time as we left, we realized we had been there over three hours and were never feeling hurried on a busy night. Time flies when you're having fun I guess! I had no idea we were there that long. The food was "just ok" but the great service and comfortable booth made it a four star rating. For me, it's more about whether I am in a place where I can enjoy time with my friends versus whether the food is great. We had several burgers at the table: two out of three were cooked correctly to order (although mine, while correct, was extremely dry even with everything on it -- weird! I only ate half of it) and one of our friends' orders arrived "very well done" when the order was for "medium." They ate it anyway but I don't think they enjoyed it very much. The runniest ranch I've ever experienced. The salads looked good although I didn't get comments from my salad-eating friends! Beers were good and cold -- nothing special but fine. One of us ordered an old fashioned but was told the bar was out of bitters. A little odd. So he ordered a beer instead. A friend ordered wine of some kind and enjoyed that. The free birthday cinnamon roll pizzookie was just fine too. Super sweet but it was a warm cinnamon roll topped with ice cream. Also got a small chocolate chip pizzookie which was good. Again super sweet but otherwise good. Again the service with the dessert was great: we just had two desserts (and were all pretty full anyway) but Johan brought us 8 plates and forks and my friends sang me happy birthday. The hit of the evening was a cocktail I got served in a tiny ceramic bathtub with a tiny rubber duck called a "lucky ducky" -- it was very cute and provided some fun photo ops! Probably the worst service I've had in a long time. Our waitress started off nice then she got kind of pushy. My friends and I were waiting on a friend which we had saw her come in and head to the restroom. My other friend wanted to order and the waitress told her no she couldn't because our other person wasn't there. So she asked some questions instead and the lady said she'd come back with the answers and hopefully our friend would be there. So when she came back our friend was there and a few minutes later we wanted to order. I ordered a salad with my meal and I wanted it to come out with my food. It took a min to get seated the hostess took our name down and we received a text message confirming our in-line waiting list was 10 to 15 minutes however it took us 39 minutes To be seated once seated, we had a lovely server who worked very hard to ensure we had everything we needed. He was very prompt with drinks. Our appetizers came out first they were hot and very good. The macaroni balls are very creamy. They had a very spicy taste to them . The slow roasted wings were amazing when our main entrées came out the shrimp scampi was pretty cold. the pizza wasn't cut. I had to send the pizza back to get it cut properly. It was pretty dry not a lot of sauce and it wasn't hot at all. The shrimp scampi was very good, but it was cold. About 20 minutes goes by and our food comes, the first thing I do is try to cut into my steak, it was tough and was sliding back and forth with the knife as I was cutting, finally once I got into it I seen raw bloody meat. I am 30 weeks pregnant, I was so disappointed, only one side of my steak was cooked and a big half was left raw, considering I was having to pay $35 for this meal I just ate what I could. I tried my potato and it was extremely hard as if they had it in the oven just the 20 minutes we sat there. It was decent but I expected better, then I get into the broccoli not thinking if this would taste off because how can you mess broccoli up??? Well you can, it had no flavor and tasted as if it was thrown into the microwave for 5 minutes still was hard and didn't even taste fresh. My mother in law tried her tri-tip it was tough and had no seasonings. Then she got onto her rice pilaf and seeing it made her skeptical to even try but she gave it a chance and regretted it, first of all it had corn and carrots in the pilaf which makes no sense, but however, you couldn't even have the rice in your mouth longer than 5 seconds without feeling cringe. It was DISGUSTING. we both tried it and spat it out into our napkins, she also had the same complaint on the baked potato as I did. The only thing that was 'decent' was her ribs, and they were extremely tough she had to use a knife to separate them. Overall I was terribly disappointed, I spent $76.35 on two meals that we didn't even eat, our whole plate was just left because of how disgusting the food was. So on my birthday which was on Wednesday I went had a dinner & everything was disorganized we had two servers the chick who was rude. & then once she left we had guy didn't seem to know what he was doing. The salad was soggy the the pizza dough seemed like it was sitting for a day or two & wasn't fresh the wings seemed like wings from the freezer section of any grocery store. My husband got the pork chop. It was seasoned and cooked well. It was delicious and he would order again. I got the enlightened seared ahí tuna salad and I would not order again. The fresh tomatoes and bell peppers threw me off with pickled cucumbers. We got the trio of pazookies. Good size to try a verity and share. Just fyi- the brownie one gets topped with pecans. Terrible customer service. Placed an order for delivery though Uber which the restaurant accepted. They were out of what I ordered and did not call to let me know. Instead the driver had to call me when he arrived. He handed me off to someone who worked there and they basically ignored me and abruptly stopped talking to me. I doubt they'll even care about this review. read more
