i stopped by texas roadhouse right at opening for a work meeting with a party of three. we had to wait for our entire party to arrive before being seated, but once we were seated, everything went smoothly. our waitress was kind & attentive. we ordered drinks, the an appetizer to share, & three entrees. bonus points because they were able to accommodate our food allergies. everything came out hot & fresh, & overall, the food was exactly what i expected from texas roadhouse. the only hiccup was when we went to pay using the table tablet. it had the charges from another table on it, so i ended up paying the wrong amount. the hostess was able to refund the charge, & i paid again with the correct bill. definitely a little inconvenient, but it was resolved quickly. read more

I decided to give my crew a nice dinner after a week of long hours. I was happy to see there's a Texas Roadhouse location here in Fresno. Everybody likes the food here and it doesn't totally break the expense account. I called in to get in line, so when we get there, we don't have to wait long at all. The inside looks pretty much like all the other Texas Roadhouse locations we've been to. We arrive and get seated shortly by the friendly host and staff serving us those Texas Roadhouse buttered rolls. Wow, those got munched up fast! Looking over the menu, We decided to start with the ribs appetizer. I got 3 orders for the table since we had 5 people. I got a couple of orders of the potato skins as well. You get 4 ribs with each order. For my meal I got the Filet medallions as did another one of my crew. He ordered his without the bed of rice and had a Caesar salad as well as a side of the mushrooms. Another person ordered the roadkill steak meal, which is a big ground beef patty smothered with grilled onions. One other crew member had the rib eye. The ribs came out looking pretty good. I wanted to see if they were cut already, they weren't but they were so fall off the bone tender, the ribs bone just pulled out all on it's own. This is how most mainstream people like their ribs, "fall off the bone". I will say they were quite tasty and sauced well. We demolished those ribs along with the tater skins while we waited for our entrees. The Caesar salads arrived all chilled and crispy. I kike that! Next our meals arrived. My filet medallions served on a bed of rice looked good, but looking over at the other order, those medallions looked kinda skimpy and small dinky pieces compared to mine. He didn't complain, but I would have. The steaks looked good and cooked properly. Mostly everyone was happy with our dining experience, so I'm happy. I've tried Texas Roadhouse yearssss ago. I was not a fan. The food was cold and mediocre. But we finally gave it another chance--it was so much better than last time. Super tasty. Everything tasted fresh, everything was hot when it came out. Nothing was dry. For being a chain their steaks are pretty good for the price. Super juicy, tender, well seasoned. (4/5) The ribs so good, tender--falling off the bone. I demolished them. (4/5) Mozzarella sticks: Great cheese pull. Came out pipping out. Marinara was good, cut the greasiness but we asked for ranch on the side as well. Btw, the ranch was good. (5/5) Seasoned rice: best side dish ever. My favorite thing of my meal. I love carbs. Yeah, the rolls are as good as I remember. Hot and soft, but without the butter, they are just hot and soft rolls. It's always packed in here and takes a long time to get seating. I would recommend getting in line ahead of time. They used to be known for their peanuts on the floor, but it seems people are barely eating the peanuts these days. My go to here is usually the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and every now and then I get the prime rib. Service is quick for being busy. read more

We finally came out to Texas Roadhouse. I resist these kind of chain restaurants but I couldn't say no to my husband once again lol For a random Thursday night it was pretty full. And loud. Service, however, was also pretty good, making up for the noise. Except that by the third of four celebration cries, I couldn't wait to finish my food and leave. Whenever someone says they are celebrating something - a birthday, whatever, someone literally yells at full volume something about Roadhouse and then they do a further chant that lasts way too long. The food was ok, 3 stars due to the cactus blossom or whatever they call their fried onion thing. We definitely should have went with a different appetizer. This onion had way too much batter - it didn't cook completely at the base/inside and the onion wasn't cooked enough. Oh well. We all liked our entrees. I got the beef tips with sautéed onions and mushrooms and mashed potatoes. My other side was green beans that had bacon a slightly too strong smoke flavor. My husband liked his steak and ribs - ribs that looked oddly small. Oh and done forget those dinner rolls!! So good. Daniel, our server is what bumped this up another Star. I haven't came to Texas Roadhouse in so long. It's always packed and parking is honestly terrible but I decided to go today since I was craving a nice steak dish. As soon as you walk in, you check in with front desk and wait until you get a text when your table is ready. Once seated, menus are already on the table for you to view. There's a lot of different options to choose from. I really wish they had better appetizers. I got their rattlesnake bites it tastes exactly like jalapeño poppers IMO and it was salty but surprisingly it did come out hot. Their bread rolls and butter is always a must. It is unlimited but don't eat so much because you do get full! They do have peanuts available too in buckets but you can't throw them on the floor anymore! Main course I got the 8oz sirloin with ribs and baked potato and Caesar salad. I asked for medium and my steak came out just like that. I was pleasantly surprised. I got full really fast I don't know why I thought I was gonna eat it all but nooo lol I had a lot of leftovers which is totally fine! So we decide to go back to the restaurant since they had an early bird special which was $14.99 not $12.99. we got there we got greeted by two ladies and got seated right away. Restaurant was pretty busy with birthdays going on. She asked us for what drinks we wanted and of course water. It was happy hours so I ordered a margarita and my husband ordered a beer. Both were on happy hour special. They also brought out their yummy dinner rolls with honey butter. I ordered the chicken herb crust with two sides and my husband ordered 6 ounce steak with two sides. First time visiting Texas Roadhouse at this Fresno location, and I had a great experience! The freshly baked bread rolls definitely didn't disappoint--as always! Soft, warm, and delicious, especially with the sweet creamy butter. The sweetness is just right and really complements the rolls. For my entrée, I had the BBQ Chicken. The chicken was flavorful, and I really enjoyed the tanginess of the barbecue sauce. It paired nicely with the sweet corn on the side and made for a satisfying meal. I also tried the raspberry tea, which had the perfect level of sweetness--not overly sweet, just the way I like it. This was my daughter's and my first visit to the Fresno Texas Roadhouse. It's far from where we live, which is probably why we hadn't tried it before, but I had a $50 gift card and decided it was time. When we arrived, there was a huge crowd waiting to be seated. What didn't make much sense was that when I went to the restroom, I noticed the back half of the restaurant was empty, and the bathrooms themselves were a mess. That said, the quoted wait time was accurate--we were told 35-45 minutes and were seated in about 38. The service was great, and the rolls were plentiful--almost filling us up before the appetizers arrived. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to expectations. The onion blossom was bland despite asking for it extra crispy, and we ended up switching to the shrimp appetizer instead. My daughter ordered the half slab of ribs with green beans and mashed potatoes. The ribs fell off the bone but were a bit dry, the green beans tasted canned, and the mashed potatoes with gravy were the best part of her meal. I ordered the shrimp platter with seasoned rice, corn, and steak fries. The shrimp was cooked perfectly, but the rice was just okay, the corn was bland, and the fries were late and undercooked. Overall, I really wanted to like this place, but the food quality didn't match the price. The service is good but their 'famous chile' has some issues. #1) It's always lukewarm. I mean every time. You'll NEVER see steam coming off of this and I'm sure it would not pass health code requirements. I was told, 'the bowls' are prefilled and held in a warming drawer. #2) Seems to be a change in the quality: Too much gag stuff now, tendons or whatever! Love the flavor but how does this location think a temp like that is acceptable?? I was hitting the gym and needed something in me so popped in to eat at the bar, get in and out. The men's restroom also reeks of urine. How is that possible in a place like this? Is it lack of thorough cleaning, an exhaust fan issue or both? IF they are not ensuring the temps on the chili in a holding drawer on a signature menu offering, what else are they NOT paying attention to? Given the popularity of this location, often packed, how is it that the restroom is neglected. Other high volume restaurants across the city manage those two simple issues with ease and you'd never have notice a food temp or a smelly restroom. I am only taking away one star due to the hostesses who are rarely friendly and have the personality and I.Q. of a pencil eraser. They usually just stand there without greeting you upon entering and spend more time on their phones and gossiping with the other hostesses. If you have a preference on seating when the restaurant is virtually empty, they look at you like you are asking them to explain the laws of gravity in Latin. I usually go Saturday's when they first open and there will be maybe two families seated, yet they will tell you it will be a 10-15 minute wait. I was very disappointed with our meal. It came out late. There were two couples after us and they were served first. I asked when is our meal coming and I was told in a minute. When we finally got our meal it was burned. I call the restaurant and spoke to a manager and he than passed the phone on to someone else. This was on the 4th of September. I have been going round and round in circles with this manager Matthew Johnson. He did give me a voucher for $75 towards another meal. I paid $118.08 for our meals. We finally mastered the waitlist process to get in. Worked out great. Our server was an older lady who disappeared for 15-20 minutes around the time we had finished our salads and had dirty plates in front of us for a long time and still had not received our cocktails. We had to watch some servers stop and line dance while we waited. We asked our server for our drinks when she reappeared. Not much apology or offer to comp anything. On the bright side, the food was good. I liked my salad, salmon and fresh vegetables. The hot rolls and cinnamon butter are yummy. Cactus blossom (aka a blooming onion) was the best thing of the whole meal. The seasoning on it was incredible lololol. I've never had a blooming onion before so it was very surprising how yummy it was. The rest of the meal kinda missed the mark for me. The service is great but the food is not good. There was long wait times on the weekend and it's loud and packed but to be expected. I'd give 5 stars if I was only rating the service and the rolls. My family came to celebrate a birthday and all of our food was unsatisfying. The cocktails are overpriced for what you get since it's not strong and is 80% ice. The sides came out cold and the protein taste on the lower quality side. The blooming onion had nice flavor but it seems like it was fried in old or overused oil. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't good. You can tell she's got a lot going on. So we waited and waited and someone finally came around to give my daughter her side, the Caesar salad, and that was it. Then we realized that we were never given utensils. So we waited to see if we'd see our waitress but she never came by. Our food finally arrived after 10+ minutes after the salad was dropped off and she was off so fast that we never got the chance to ask her for utensils. We ended up interrupting another waiter for them. After finally getting to eat, our appetizer of the Boneless Buffalo Wings finally got dropped off. Mashed weren't bad but cheese wasn't melted. Small upcharge for loaded definitely wasn't worth it. Mushrooms were good & green beans were great. Glad we went. I arrived at 7pm i have been waiting over an hour and a half still haven't gotten food. Never got the appetizer server " forgot to put in". I finally got the steak and it was completely hard and grey. Waiters don't know how to serve. Cooks can't cook food. It's sad this place finally brought back peanuts and everything else is horrific. I've been to Texas Roadhouse about four times, and while the service has always been great, the kitchen consistency has been really disappointing. The servers are friendly, attentive, and do an excellent job -- no complaints there at all. Unfortunately, the steaks have been the issue. Out of the four visits, only one steak was cooked correctly. On my most recent visit, I ordered a medium-well steak and it came out medium. When it was remade, it came back extremely overcooked and dry -- basically well done and not enjoyable to eat, especially when you're paying $40+ for a steak. It's frustrating because this used to be my go-to spot, but lately the lack of consistency in the kitchen makes it hard to justify coming back. I really hope they improve, because the service side of the restaurant is excellent. read more

I'm really disappointed with how things went this time. I usually dine in and the service is always great, but doing a preorder for takeout was disappointing. First, we called to place an order, but they said they couldn't take it over the phone and told us to come in. When we got there, all they did was write down our name and pickup time. They didn't even let us pay ahead, so I don't get why we had to go in when this could've easily been done over the phone. The day of pick up, they had us wait another 35-40minutes. It didn't make sense because we ordered days ahead to avoid waiting, but we still had to wait 30+ minutes past our pickup time. When I finally got my order, they gave me three 8 oz butters for five dozen bread and told me "right now" they can only give one butter for every two dozen. I said okay. When I got home and opened them, it was literally just five small scoops per container. When I ordered some when I went to go put in the preorder, the butter was a full 8 oz and 1 8 oz per dozen, so this was really inconsistent and not what I was told. The lady told me that each dozen comes with an 8oz cup of butter during preorder. The info they gave was misleading, and it felt wrong to be told one thing and then get something totally different when you pay for it. read more

I wanted to share the outstanding service my husband and I were provided with on Friday July 10th at the Shaw location in Fresno California. Initially our waitresses were Larissa and Arleth as one was training. Such friendly service, and I love that they acknowledged us both. They made sure we had absolutely everything we needed. Very professional and kind! As they had to leave on their break, we were introduced to Juju who would be taking over until they returned. What a hard working and dedicated young man who was passionate about customer service! He definitely has the "old school" work ethic and was so sweet and excellent at what he does. Best service ever! We also got to meet Tony the manager, as he was making his rounds. When I tell you that I felt so welcomed and appreciated as a customer it was incredible! I've been to the Texas Roadhouse in Fresno a few times, and they consistently provide decent service and decent food. On our most recent visit, we ordered the 12 oz ribeye and shrimp with green beans and a baked sweet potato. Our friends ordered the ribeye steak with fully loaded mashed potatoes and mac & cheese. The food was decent overall--nothing to complain about, but not overly impressive either. We started with the Desert Blossom, which was perfectly delicious and definitely the highlight of the meal. Crispy, well-seasoned, and exactly what you'd expect. I also tried the Blue Fruit Coconut cocktail. It tasted good, but when they ask if you want a "kicker," get the kicker. The drink is way too sweet and doesn't have enough alcohol as is. I ended up adding the kicker and an extra shot of Pirate Bay Coconut Rum, which finally gave it the right amount of alcohol to balance out the sweetness. Trust me, if you order this drink, just go ahead and get the kicker and the extra shot. The restaurant itself was mostly clean, but I did notice some sticky menus. That's a pet peeve of mine because it makes me wonder how often they actually get wiped down. Sticky menus are a small thing, but they make a bad first impression. We also ran into a bit of confusion when we first got seated. There was a mix-up between the hostess, our server, and someone else when we asked for regular butter instead of the cinnamon butter. By the time they brought it out, the rolls had gone cold. I had to ask for fresh rolls just to get the butter to melt. Another small thing, but I like my food warm and fresh, so that was a minor annoyance. Overall, we had a good time. The food and service were decent, but nothing to write home about. Been going there since they opened. Never had bad service or bad food. Tonight my hubs deferred from his usual chicken fried sirloin and opted for the sirloin. When I asked him what was the matter, he said the steak had a weird texture and flavor. I cut off a small bite and took a taste which I immediately spit out in my napkin it was so foul, then I smelled it which was even worse. We informed the waitress and after about 10 minutes she came back apologizing. We paid our bill not expecting anything but maybe a visit from the manager where we could show him what the problem was but they never showed up. As a food handler myself I would have taken this complaint seriously as there was definitely something wrong with the meat. We took our leftovers home for our pup but because I had to roll the window down because the smell was so bad, we threw the sirloin away. Be awhile before we give them another chance. read more
