Our party of six was ready for a great meal, and some of us got it. Our server was very nice, but little extras like additional salad dressing was not delivered with the salad, and after a long wait had to be asked for again. I ordered a ribeye steak, which was cooked as requested, but the sweet potato fries I'd ordered were not delivered. After a wait this and a couple of other small things was mentioned to our server, and about the time everyone else was finished eating, a small plate with regular fries was finally brought to the table. One member of our party ordered a Tri- Tip steak cooked medium rare, it came out to her practically raw. After a long wait, this was pointed out to our server who took it back to the kitchen. After a while, it was returned exactly as it had been... still nearly raw, but with some fresh sauce poured over it. Since everyone else had finished their meals by this time, I requested the meal be comped, which our server did. All in all not the enjoyable evening we'd looked forward to, unfortunately. A couple of points: all the misdelivered and undelivered items could have been avoided if the runners were aware of what had been ordered before taking it the the table. The steak issue is on the grill chef who messed it up the first time and then tried to get slick the second time - as if fresh sauce would solve the problem. The entire meal came to around $169 -after the comped uneaten steak. On the upside, the burgers and ribs were said to be tasty, and the various sides as well. Our server handled things well, so props to him... and a decent tip despite everything. I may be back for a burger and beer. read more

I don't do chain restaurants too often but I took my kids for lunch to satisfy their craving of the famous or infamous Pizookie.. food was pretty good and service was very attentive. Decor was warm but can definitely get a little loud as the crowds pick up. All in all we enjoyed ourselves for a nice lunch. Wow just wow we arrived about 8pm, it was not busy. We waited a few moments for the hostess to seat us, she was not having it tonight. The bench seat was dirty actually a lot of paper straw wrappers and crumbs on the floor throughout the restaurant. I went to the host stand and asked for a paper towel to wipe my seat she gave us one. It didn't do the job, (sticky) so I asked the waiter for one. He immediately sent the bus boy to clean the seats. Reese the waiter was friendly, kind, polite and apologetic. He took our drink order, they drinks were quick and tasty! We ordered two apps, it took about an hour for them to come out, AND they were not ok!!! The mozzarella sticks were cold. And the guacamole oh boy there was the entire pit in addition to some skin!!! I've been to the BJs in Orlando and had a pink Cadillac (so good) so when all of this was happening I was so confused. The waiter apologized and had the manager come over, the manager immediately took the guacamole back, and offer to make new sticks but we were done. They comped our food. ( we didn't eat anything though and didn't pack it up) AND gave a $25 gift card to put towards our two drinks. We ended up paying $9 for the two drinks, plus a tip for our very nice server. Really good food in a nice clean, casual relaxed environment. The service is good and the food is generally consistent with delicious flavors and there is so much on the menu to choose from that I think even the pickiest eater can find something that they would really enjoy. Today we had a " Deep Dish Ziti" that has meatballs, Italian sausage, pepperoni, marinara, creamy alfredo, Italian herbs, lot's of creamy mozzarella & Parmesan cheese and fresh basil with a garlic knot on the side! So good and it just hits the spot. This may not be an Italian restaurant but honestly this dish was really wonderful and it tasted authentic and like the Italian food I always had from home. A fabulous combination of meats, cheeses, sauces & herbs everything just came together so nicely I would order it again! We also had the "New Orleans Jambalaya" this dish consists of blackened chickened breast, sautéed shrimp, chicken andouille-sausage, bell peppers, tomatoes, onions, a Cajun spiced broth over rice pilaf! The flavors here are done really well! It tasted nice and everything was cooked terrific. We decided to share some dessert so we ordered a "Salted Caramel Pizookie" which is a warm caramel cookie with sweet almond toffee, crunchy pretzel bites, white + Ghirardelli dark chocolate chips, topped with vanilla bean ice cream and caramel sauce! I went with friends on a Friday night around 7pm. They told us it would be a 50 min wait but ended up being less than 20min which I was thankful for. I tried the Enlightened Mediterranean Chicken Bowl. Two of my friends ordered the avocado egg rolls and absolutely raved about them, so I had high hopes for my own food. It's been awhile since I've been here probably two or three years since my last visit. So unfortunately , my bowl was missing the vinaigrette flavor, it ended up feeling pretty dry and under-seasoned. The rice was crunchy and undercooked. The chicken itself was tender and nicely grilled, so that part was good. After a few bites, I asked for extra crema on the side to help with the lack of flavor. I went in with modest expectations since this was meant to be a lighter, more nutritious option, but it still felt underwhelming. That said, I do appreciate that BJ's offers lighter options, especially for evenings when I don't want something heavy or greasy. I also ordered the tiki mocktail, which had passion fruit and guava flavors. It was very sweet--I ended up watering it down with two glasses of water and basically turned it into two drinks. The $13 Pizookie meal deal is a decent value, though the portion is on the smaller side if you're used to more filling meals. With the mocktail, my total came out to about $25. I made sure I tipped as well and I'll say my range was $30-40 after tipping. BJ's does have a wide menu with something for everyone, but overall the quality didn't quite justify the prices for me this time. One friend even returned her meal and ordered something else. My husband and I ordered online on their website it claimed there was an issue with our payment and the order didn't go through however it took the money from our card. Online the burgers are priced at 12.99. We called the restaurant and placed an order over the phone instead. When we went inside to pay somehow we were charged 15.99 for the burgers. I don't know if the prices aren't accurate on the website or if we got charged inaccurately. When we received our food everything was wrong my husband only asked for ketchup, mayo and lettuce on his burger when we got the food back his burger had everything on it including tomatoes and pickles which we asked when we ordered to have removed. For my order I chose the house salad for my side with my burger instead of fries. My salad wasn't there instead I received fries which I didn't order. When we asked someone about this they told us they would take care of it and the salad would be on the house then they came back a little later and told us we actually would have to pay for the salad. Well all good things come to a wtf lol. Server Katie was very delightful. Ambiance was same as usual pleasant. Food on the other hand needs much work. Order a tri tip medium with asparagus and mixed veggies. Steak was decent but all veggies and asparagus were like someone grew and picked them in a desert. As all were dry hard and not chewable. Then there was the restroom where it's seemed like no-one cared and literally felt as though someone had sprayed floor and toilets and employees were just ignoring it. Katie also did try fix situation by bringing out some more mushrooms and onions but it took so long they got ate alone not with steak. I arrived with a friend on Sunday for lunch. We sat at the high tops in the bar. I'm not sure if the server was new, but he seemed like it. We ordered a bottle of wine and he poured a "taste" pour for both of us. I assumed he just was hoping we would both sample and "ok" it but he quickly walked away. Not sure what that was about. Definitely one of the better chains around this area. My husband and I always enjoy our meals and the service is good. The food is a little pricey for what you get but it's better quality than some other chains. They have a gluten free menu and their options are pretty good. I've enjoyed their pizzas, bowls, and salads. The gluten free crust is amazing. Their cheese is just ok. (Think Pizza Hut or Chuck E. Cheese cheese). Here I am again at yet another beer dinner. I'm very excited for tonight's lineup. October always brings lots of harvest beer and especially that PUMPKIN BEER! To start, we got a good Austrian-style beer that was definitely a good starter. Delicious! Then we got a Paulaner Oktoberfest beer to go with our freshly made Big Twist Pretzel with BJ's Beer Cheese.... Magnificent! Like the others at my table, I was torn between the excellent mustard AND the beer cheese to dip in! Both were fabulous! Next is the Paulaner Oktoberfest Märzen and we get their Santa Fe Salad! Great beer to pair with the spiciness of the salad. For our palate cleanser, we have a Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest and it really hit the spot! Says that it's brewed with a bunch of hops I've never heard of before! Loral, Saphir, Hersbrucker and Spalter hops. Whatever they were, they were delicious! Next is our BJ's BrewhouseClassic Tavern-Cut Pizza. This is paired with Samuel Adams Octoberfest Beer that I've been chomping at the bit to try! Delightful! I have really loved Samuel Adams ever since I tried it last year! We now have double bone-in pork chop with broccoli and mashed potatoes! This is accompanied by the Paulaner Salvator which is a dopplebock with highlights of Munich malt, chocolate and light hop notes. Blew us all away! Wow!! Lastly, our chocolate chip pizookie paired with BJ's Pumpkin Ale was absolutely to die for! Once you know they've changed the recipe by adding pumpkin puree to the beer, you can certainly taste the difference! It was a full house tonight with wonderful food, friends and beer! Recent 1 star reviews had me worried, but the family wanted to try it anyway. I had the "BJs favorite" deep dish mini pizza. Lots of meat. It was ok. Nothing to scream about. The tortilla soup got raves from the family, but it needed a bit more chicken meat. The chili was also good and filling. The accompanying salad was dressed deliciously. Our server was good. I was happy to say that my experience was very good here. Our waiter was very attentive- checked my reward and told me I had a free pazookie! what's that? Ice cream with a chocolate chip cookie! My daughter had that! I had a Kim Crawford chardonnay (half price on Tuesdays) and an ahi tuna salad- it was delicious. I asked for the onions on the side as well as the rice wine vinegar dressing. They did it without an issue. I also asked for more wasabi and it was brought to me quickly. I was happy with my meal as I thought it would be huge but it was a nice portion for dinner! This restaurant was completely empty but somehow our waiter still never wanted to check on us and see if we needed anything. Food was all very bad. Kids corn dogs completely burnt and not edible. Complained about it and asked for my son to get Mac and cheese instead. The waiter left without my sons food then comeback later on and said his manager wanted to see the corn dogs so he grabbed them and left. Manager never came over to say anything about it. You think if they cared at all they would have walked over and talked to us. I got chicken parm and it was cold and oddly chewy. I didn't say anything about it because of my sons food I knew they wouldn't care and I didn't want my food to get spit in it. We got the cookies at the end which is my kid's favorite part and they were raw. I had to say something about that because I didn't want my kids to get sick. Still no manager came over to talk to us. However, the pizookies are sooo delicious and I love the discounted price on Tuesdays (though be prepared to wait because it gets crowded!) The service was fine, but we had made a reservation and when we got there they told us it wasn't written down anywhere, so we had to wait. The ambiance is nice but can sometimes get a bit loud. I even chatted with a manager over the issue several times. Imagine a business so inept and heads buried in the sand they can't even keep a somewhat clean bathroom. Urine soacked floors. Urine smell, Trash piled all over the cans. Mirrors dirty. Is this place for real? Next time I go, if ever, I'll take pictures and send them to the health inspectors. Three of us went for dinner. I ordered the pork chop special, one ordered fish and chips, we ordered an app for the child. My meal was supposed to come with a side and a salad. Neither came. When the waitress came to ask how the salad was I said "I don't know. I'll tell you when it comes." She laughed and walked away. My pork came (without a side) and the fish/chips came. The fries were inedible-- heavily burnt. The fish was tasteless but the batter was so oily and tasted burnt. Couldn't eat the dish. I started eating my pork and it was fine... perhaps a bit salty. This was 45 min into the service and my salad and side had never come. About 10 min later, the waitress came (our drinks had long been empty) and I said I really don't want the salad anymore since I'd rather not eat it after the entree. The fish was uneaten and we just asked if we could just cancel the sides, figure out the tally, and then cancel the included dessert as it had been too long. Another 10-15 minutes later the manager came, said he would do the cancel, (we paid just for a beer) and as we were getting up to head to McDonald's a runner came by with my salad... I politely declined. Place is loud and there was a scary movie playing on TV; which was causing some stress for a young member of our party (and a reason we wanted to just leave). read more

The ambiance was sad and depressing. Nothing like the commercial which had my curiosity to dine at this restaurant. It's similar to Flanagalin's in South Florida. It's always so happy and a watching the people that dine at Flannigan's has a most chipper mood. I didn't care too much for their restrooms. The restrooms weren't clean. 2nd the food was okay. I enjoyed their nachos. My husband and I shared. I enjoyed my soda. Hand crafted Black Cherry was awesome. The service was blah. Our waitress was Lauren. She was very patience with us because it was our first time dining there. Their menu is full of various dinners I wouldn't mind going back to try. I enjoyed her patience and understanding. My husband was asking questions about the hamburgers and she was describing which she would prefer. My husband settled on the Cheese burger with fried onion rings on top and he had bbq sauce on the side. He loved the French fries and his burger. I had the shrimp pasta with garlic butter and I couldn't believe the size of the shrimp. The sauce was nice. The pasta was covered in this garlic butter sauce and I had to savor it because it was awesomely delicious. Finally for desert what made we want to visit BJ's Brew house was the piecookie (spelling). I had the chocolate chip cookie with ice cream on top and drizzled in a salted caramel sauce.OMG! It was so delicious and warm. You have to make sure when your cookie is served not to touch the side because it's like it comes fresh out the oven. I refused to share. I should have ordered one to go because I have salted caramel ice cream at home. Anyway besides the depressing atmosphere and unkempt bathroom I would go back but it's a no for me. I came here last month for my birthday got on the waitlist online before arriving and was seated promptly within 5 minutes. We waited about 10-15 minutes for the server to come and she kept saying I'll be there in a minute but was clearly overwhelmed. When she came to place our drink order we decided to order everything since it seemed it would be forever for her to come back. We waited a while for the drinks to come and received half our order since she kept forgetting the drinks at the bar and was busy with other customers. We waited almost an hour for food to arrived and by the time we received our food it was completely cold. It didn't seem like they were understaffed more like just clearly disorganized that night which was a first for us. We will definitely stick to ordering takeout. read more

The food at BJs is moderately good but what I like them most for is their Pizookies and they have deals for them on Tuesday's. The pizookies are just so good and they have so many different flavors. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak and it was really good. My favorite pizookie is the cookies and crème and the monkey bread. I also recently ordered the jalapeño burger which was pretty good but just kind of hard to eat. My boyfriend got the jambalaya and it was good, a large portion size too. I got a free Pizookie for my birthday because I signed up for the rewards which was really nice. My favorite flavor is the cookies and Créme. My waitress was super nice and even gave me some ice cream to go with my Pizookie. They redid the seating inside and it looks really nice in there. Seriously This is one of the best restaurants i've been to while in Gainesville Florida. It is actually much better to go during the day rather than at night as it gets VERY crowded at night but I was was able to purchase my food no problem. Actually the best part of being here was that thanks to signing up with BJ's I had received a freebie for my birthday which was PiCookie of my choosing and it was totally worth it. This place and the atmosphere was off the charts and I can't wait to come back here again when I visit Gainesville Florida. If you haven't tried this place yet, I recommend you do. I had burnt dinner, needed a happy moment so we went to BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse for happy hour on a Sunday at 9:00 PM. The restaurant was not crowded, nor was the bar. The Happy hour cocktails and service at the bar were great and sweet! We were excited to try the 1/2 price on the shareable Appetizers menu at BJ's. We ordered shareable food. - Avocado Eggrolls had an extra crispy, almost crumbling wrap, and the flavorful mixture of avocados worked out well. - Loaded Nachos weren't impressive, lukewarm, sparingly small chicken pieces with light melted cheese, tomatoes jalapenos, salsa, a dollop of sour cream, and basic jarred guacamole. Loaded is not the correct term for them. Many nachos were left untouched. - Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, Sauced and tossed fast fried chicken just like in a Fast Food chain restaurant except for way more expensive at $13.75, French Fries were even bland. Was so excited to finally eat here always seeing the parking lot packed... First time here. Setting was descent even with busyness and arriving around 5ish. Our waitress Andrea was amazing always making sure we were taking care of, drinks full, and letting us know how long things took. We got the chips and 3 dip trio which was nothing but amazing! Husband and I both got a burger. He ordered med well, i ordered well. Waited about 40 mins for order to arrive at table. Within a few bites noticed husband was way pinker then med well, and mine was more a med med rare. Showing Andrea she was went straight to manager who took both burger meals off our ticket. Was not asking for any kinda discount just wanted to make aware. He said no that was unacceptable and took burgers off. We had a large group and our server was really nice. The only downside and the reason for a star off was that the service started out really well and attentive and then went downhill after we started finishing our meals. Our server, Kip, was amazing! I had the broccoli cheese soup....yummy! The pot stickers were excellent too!
