My husband got the jailbreak burger which was also a big crowd pleaser. To the right they have a full bar to try their different beers. A great spot to take your friends for after work drinks and eats. They even have a cozy lounge area to relax. Plenty of seating and great service. The staff was ready and willing to help and cleared off our tables for us. The tab system makes it easy to move from room to room so you don't have to worry, it's easy to add drinks and food as you relax and enjoy the atmosphere. Will definitely recommend for a relaxed atmosphere where you can watch games and also enjoy lively conversation. Better than a sports bar for food AND drinks.

Our food came out quickly, our requests were handled promptly, and when I asked for the check, it came right out. We never had to sit around wondering where our food or server was. Everything was orderly and efficient, which was a major improvement from some of my previous experiences. And of course...the EAGLES WON! So that definitely helped make it a good day! I do have a couple of things I think Looney's could improve. First, the TVs. I understand that there are multiple football games happening, but considering we're in the DMV and this is a Commanders/Eagles matchup, I would expect the game to be on the majority of the screens. That wasn't really the case. There was also tennis on at one point, which my mom was enjoying, but it was switched off before the match was even finished. I think they could do a better job of balancing what games are being shown, especially during major matchups. I was also a little confused by the ID/stamping situation. When I first arrived, I wasn't asked for my ID; I was simply given a stamp. I'm not sure what the stamp was for or whether I was supposed to receive one, so I was a little unclear about the purpose. I don't mind following the rules at all--I just wasn't sure what the process was supposed to be. And the bathrooms could definitely use a little more attention in the cleanliness department. Overall, though, we had a good experience this time around. The atmosphere was fun, the crowd wasn't nearly as overwhelming as it has been in previous years, and most importantly, Maria was on it! The food and service are a huge part of the experience at a sports bar, and yesterday was definitely a step up from some of the experiences I've had in the past. We'll be back next year for our annual Eagles/Commanders tradition. Hopefully the Eagles will be bringing another W with them!

L is for Looneys Pub in Maple Lawn: Looney's Pub has been a staple around UMD campus for many years. I went to college at Arizona State University; so I had never experienced Looney's until January 2025 when I went to the College Park location for a friend's birthday party, which my girlfriend & I enjoyed. My g/f is a lifelong Marylander and had been Looney's before at least, both of our most local location in Maple Lawn. In September 2025, my g/f & I visited the Maple Lawn as they were having a Ravens kickoff pep rally. They had some music, cheerleaders, etc. They were busy, but once we got seated, service was decent. We pigged out on their delicious crab cheese fries, which we remembered we enjoyed at our friend's birthday party. Overall, Looney's is a good option over here.

The bartender was so great and patient explaining everything even though we really weren't intending to drink (it was barely noon and we had the baby with us). This would be a really nice spot to stop by for pre-dinner drinks or after dinner drinks or just a casual Saturday to do the tasting and have some drinks. We will be back again once we have a sitter and can make a night of it. I would highly recommend hosting a Yelp event here. They deserve the traffic there.

Last weekend, I visited BJ's with the expectation of a satisfying or atleast decent dining experience. Unfortunately, my visit was disappointing from start to finish. We began with the Garlic Shrimp and Parmesan Toast. While initially promising, upon closer inspection, we noticed that some of the shrimp were undercooked, which was concerning. We decided to halt our appetizer and wait until our main courses arrived. For dinner, both my partner and I ordered sirloin. However, upon presentation, it was immediately apparent that what we received was not sirloin but chuck roast. The cut was noticeably different more marbled and fibrous, more suitable for slow-cooking methods like pot roast than the quick, high-heat preparation typical of a steakhouse. ( we love a good steak so this was not hard to notice) My partner ate some of his meal, but I couldn't bring myself to eat more than a few bites. If I wanted pot roast, I would have gone to a place specializing in that. It's perplexing and somewhat misleading that the restaurant would serve a different cut than what was advertised. I'm unsure whether this was due to supply issues or an attempt to cut costs, but it feels like false advertising. What was particularly disappointing was the waitress immediately noticing I hadn't finished my plate and asked, "You didn't like the food?" I responded honestly with a "No," and she inquired if I wanted something else. I declined, as I was hesitant to risk another disappointment. Despite this, the uneaten meal was NOT removed from the check, which felt dismissive given the circumstances. I will say her overall customer service was good, this particular situation was just disheartening. This was my first visit to Bj's. I was very disappointed with the service. Our waitress "London". Took our order, we ordered a cocktail, appetizers. After about 15 mins the waitress came back to us, and asked us for our entree order. At this time we ordered our entrees, and a bottle of wine. Another wait person arrived with the wine, she then proceeded to open the wine, drop the cork on the floor, and put the cork back in the bottle!!!! In about another 20 mins another wait person, arrived out with our entrees, we still had not received our appetizers. All during this time, I could plainly see our waitress, chatting to one particular table. We told the waitress to cancel our appetizers, we then proceeded to eat our entrees, my vegetables were completely cold. At no time during our meal, did our waitress come over and ask us once, was everything okay. The waitress was aware about the cork incident, the appetizers incident, but she still never bothered checking on us again. All the time during our meal, I could see our waitress chatting to a man sitting by himself. The table across from us also had their order messed up. I can understand if a restaurant is busy, but if a waitress has time to continuously chat to another table for 10 minutes at a time, and ignore her other tables, This is just shabby service. read more

5/5 -- Exceptional Service from JuJu at BJ's My recent visit to BJ's was easily one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time, and that's entirely thanks to our server, JuJu. From the moment we sat down, JuJu made us feel genuinely welcomed -- not just as guests, but as valued individuals. JuJu struck the perfect balance between professionalism and warmth. Every interaction felt effortless and sincere. They were incredibly attentive without ever hovering, anticipating our needs before we even had to ask. Our orders were taken promptly and JuJu's menu knowledge was lucrative -- offering helpful recommendations with confidence and enthusiasm. What really stood out, though, was JuJu's personality. He radiated positive energy and clearly takes pride in what he does. Even during a busy service, JuJu maintained a calm, upbeat attitude that made the whole table relax and enjoy the evening. While the customer service at BJ's was fantastic, our dining experience today fell short. Fefe warmly greeted us and introduced us to Marcus, our attentive server. Unfortunately, the food quality left a lot to be desired. We started with the $10 wing special, which unfortunately arrived burnt. The avocado egg rolls were also overcooked, and the presentation was lacking. The spinach dip was served with crushed chips, and a remake even had a hair on it. The rest of the food wasn't much better, and honestly, wasn't edible. The pizza was made like a child did it for fun. While the Pzookie, as always, was delicious, we did not get it but this wouldn't have been enough to save the experience. This is particularly disappointing as on a previous visit, the service was subpar, but the manager's attentiveness convinced me to overlook it. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was bad from start to finish. The food was disappointing, the restaurant was uncomfortably hot, and the atmosphere felt incredibly tense. What stood out the most was seeing a woman with red hair and glasses, who appeared to be in charge, walking around yelling at staff in front of customers. Watching employees get spoken to that way made the entire dining experience uncomfortable. The servers looked overheated and exhausted, and I genuinely felt bad for them. A restaurant should feel welcoming, but this one felt chaotic and stressful. Between the poor food, the uncomfortable temperature, and the way the staff appeared to be treated, I have no interest in returning. I can't recommend this place to anyone, and if someone asks me where to avoid in Laurel, this will be my answer. Patrons please do not go to this establishment. It's filthy and disgusting and on top of that, the management employs discriminatory biases against guests and staff. They routinely profile brown skinned and non white patrons and make crude and bigoted comments about their guests. I over heard a manager say to a bartender "what that mouth do", which is a slang terminology for an explicit sexual act. They call customers names and do not use proper hygiene methods when handling food. I witnessed a server count cash money and then rearrange the lettuce on someone's plate. Disgusting!!!!!!!! When i asked to speak with a manager, I was treated horrible and the staff treated me as if i were the one in violation. This place is the pits!!!!!! Stop spending your money here and spread the word about their horrible treatment of patrons and vile conduct and misuse of power toward their staff!!!!! read more

If there were a Hall of Fame for servers, Tim would already have a bronze bust, a scholarship fund, and a cult following. From the moment he showed up, the vibe shifted--water glasses stayed full, orders arrived exactly right, and somehow he managed to be attentive without ever hovering. Tim has that rare superpower where he knows exactly when you need something before you even realize it yourself. Food recommendations? Elite. Timing? Flawless. Energy? The perfect balance of friendly, professional, and effortlessly cool. Honestly, the meal was great, but Tim is the reason it was memorable. He turned a normal outing into a "we're definitely coming back and asking for Tim" experience. Dined here last night, sat at table 412. Took close to 20 minutes for the Server to come take our order, another 1/2 and hour for the food to come(fish and chips, and a Prime Rib Dip sandwich). Both meals were cold, Server didn't offer refills on drinks, came by once to check on us. Had to flag her down to get the bill, and instead of dropping it, she hovered over as we were paying it. Upon checking in my wife put down her name as the contact name per Prince Georges County COVID protocol, however the Hostess(who was also our server) in a nasty tone, said Did all of you sign? BJ's is a fantastic restaurant with a beautiful scenery. They craft and sell many types of their own different brews. I would suggest either the Oasis Amber or Jeremiah Red for any Lager or Pale Ale lover. Don't skip out on the Jambalaya, and you also cant go wrong with any burger there. The Double Deluxe is a great choice for the big burger fans.' There online and mobile ordering is very easy to use, gives you reward points and always has your order ready to go when you get there. They may have a wait sometimes, but it is definitely worth it as there is a reason as to why they are so busy. read more

Our server Mr. Aaron did an exceptionally amazing job providing outstanding, professional and incredibly prompt customer service throughout our entire meal! He had multiple tables during a very busy period and yet he made us feel as if he was only providing service to our tablel! Food was super dry and no flavor whatsoever. I ordered the prime rib which tasted as if it had been sitting out all day. Unbelievable. For an appetizer I chose the original wings which were very tough and the sauce drizzled over was non existent in taste. Came for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and there was only a 5 min wait to get a table. The menu is huge. Lots of choices on drinks and food. I was indecisive about what I wanted you to order and I went with his recommendation (Shrimp Tacos) and it did not disappoint. If you ever visit this location make sure you request RC as your server. I'm never disappointed at bjs brewhouse, especially the Laurel location! Excellent food with knowledgeable, friendly, professional staff who are willing to make things pescatarian and vegetarian! I had a great experience. The darkskin girl with blonde hair who took my order at takeout was very kind and patient with me. The food came out in a timely manner. The atmosphere was awesome and the workers constantly checked in on me to make sure i was taken care of. I recommend the Shrimp Scampi and the deep dish pizzas which are very delicious. read more

We asked our waiter if they could put it back on the grill, and he took care of it with no problem. Service was really great. Our waiter was on top of everything and got every part of our order right. Parking was easy, and the restaurant itself has plenty of seating.
