I went to Salsa Brava for happy hour with a friend on a Friday and had a great time! Happy hour runs from 12-6 p.m., and we were told a DJ would be coming on around 8. We didn't stay for the DJ, but the atmosphere was already lively and fun while we were there. We ordered margaritas, empanadas, and the octopus. The margaritas were decently strong, had great flavor, and were about double the size of what you typically get at most restaurants (a win in my book)! The empanadas were a 10/10! Absolutely delicious. The dough was perfectly crispy without being too hard, and they were fully stuffed with ground beef and cheese. I'll definitely be thinking about those empanadas for a while! Now, the octopus was my first time ever trying octopus, so I didn't really know what to expect. It came out sizzling and the presentation was great, and there was even a good of amount of shrimp (head on) on the side, which I didn't realize came with the dish.. It also came with a side of rice beans and the choice of corn or flour tortilla. The flavor was absolutely amazing. You could really taste that fire-grilled flavor. For the most part, the texture was good as well. However, the thicker bottom portion didn't seem to be cooked all the way through and had a very fatty texture. We asked our waiter if they could put it back on the grill, and he took care of it with no problem. Service was really great. Our waiter was on top of everything and got every part of our order right. Parking was easy, and the restaurant itself has plenty of seating. Although I didn't stay for the DJ, I have a feeling this place turns into a really good time later in the evening. I've been to Salsa Brava in Laurel several times, and each visit has been a great experience. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, with great music, salsa dancing, and a fun energy that makes it a perfect spot for a date night or a night out with friends. The customer service is excellent, the drinks are delicious, and the piña colada served in a whole pineapple is definitely my go-to--absolutely amazing! Cinco de Mayo in Laurel was CRAZY We first went to Amigos and knew immediately we weren't getting in. The parking lot was packed and the line was all the way down toward Chick-fil-A. Way too many people for such a small space, even with the tents outside. Then we tried Chidos and traffic was backed up to Route 1, so we just kept driving. We ended up at Salsa Brava and walked right in. My only complaint was people standing at the bar drinking on such a busy day when others, like myself, were trying to order and go enjoy the outside tent area. Other than that, the vibes were good! The music was fun, the crowd had great energy, and they even had a horse there dancing to the music The food and drinks came out, and overall we had a good time. *Happy Hour Review* Visited during happy hour on Memorial Day. They offer happy hour (even on a holiday). Woot! This location is where the old Chi'bal used to be (for a point of reference). I never made it to the business that was here after Chi'bal. I really like the decor and vibe in here! They have a good selection of tequila. I got a margarita, and it was good. Service was on point. The bartenders were engaging and friendly. From their soocial media, it seems like it's poppin' on the weekends - DJ and all! I will be back soon to sit on the patio and enjoy the summer vibes! I saw a viral video of "Salsa Bravo" Let me start by saying Im a HUGE FAN of SALSA Salsa the condiment and Salsa Music and add a twist of Urban ...so I have high expectations. I know this place was once Chibal (excelent food and service) then it became El Carbonero (not that great) i think it just Carbonero with a "urban" marketing theme So when I come in and they are playing a "Dj Adonis Bachata Mix" ...Im already like wtf. I was there a good 30-45mins NO SALSA MUSIC I asked the server shes like we play a little bit if everything. No complimentary Chips....NO SALSA I ordered the Sliders....they were burnt and no special or extraordinary Salsa with them. My Drink was good but nothing crazy. This is based on a few previous experiences I had at the establishment; before last night, I enjoyed going in there and having dinner, even though it's like 8 bucks for a beer and it gets very packed, my gf and I had a nice dinner and enjoyed the entertainment as well! Last night, I went there to meet my gf, got there before her and they wanted a 15.00 cover to have dinner and drinks. The dinner and drinks are already uncomfortably overpriced and I was puzzled as to why I was asked for 15 at the door. Though I enjoyed the atmosphere in prior visits, I'm not going anywhere I have to pay 15 bucks just to sit down and eat. I had tried this spot out when it was a different name (can't recall the name). I wasn't a fan of the previous spot, but saw that it was a new spot so decided to check it out. Went in on a Thursday afternoon, and was surprised to see that no one was in there. Or was just me and the severs. You'd think that would mean the service would be on point. Not the case. The bartenders seemed like they didn't want to be bothered and were more interested in prepping. I finally got someone to take my order. I ordered the carne asada with rice and salad. The food wasn't bad. My steak was well seasoned and cooked at the right temperature. My issue with this place was the service. I made a reservation for Mother's Day the day before for 13 people and even received a confirmation message confirming it.!! When we arrived, they gave us a table for only 6 people and expected everyone to somehow fit. The staff at the front were very unprofessional and had an attitude the entire time over a mistake that was clearly not ours. They kept saying they "don't take reservations" and that they didn't know who allowed us to make one, but if they don't take reservations then why was our table reserved at all? Just not for the correct amount of people. On top of that, we didn't even receive an apology for their mistake. I even asked to speak to a manager and still nothing was handled professionally. Very disappointing experience, especially on Mother's Day!!! Customer service and communication seriously need improvement.!! read more

If you don't like loud music on a Saturday night don't go!! I did not know that this place turns into a club after a certain time. The music was too loud for my liking. The food wasn't bad, but the drinks were too syrupy. I got the snoops high flight and it was terrible. I'm mad I paid $50 for that. Food was excellent, I got the shrimp tostada ( which is a starter) plenty for dinner to me, with the chips and salsa ( a unique spicy blend for the salsa, not the typical tomato salsa) and the pomegranate margarita, delicious! A more adult atmosphere which makes for a nice date night without the little ones. Ambiance and vibe is great, with the expected Latino vibe. Service was also excellent, they work as a team, used dishes were picked up in a timely manner, which is a big deal for me. We went for a Wednesday late night dinner. Didn't realize there was a salsa dance thing going on. There were 2-3 couple on the floor dancing and it was alright to watch. The music was way too loud and we couldn't hear ourselves, each other or the server. After a lot of shouting at the top of our lungs, the server got our order. Service was slow and some of the men at the dance openly stared at me. The food was great as usual and the server was super nice. The ambience definitely gave creepy vibes. Will not be back! Service was really slow. Someone instantly brought chips to the table but after that we had to ask a few people to figure out who our server was. By the time a server came, they seemed annoyed, and we were being stared at as if we were problematic. The worst part of the experience was that there was a produce sticker in the pico de gallo that I ate and spit out. Speaks to the lack of attentiveness for the food preparation. Even though it was listed as one of their menu drinks. It tasted like nothing but sour mix this was even after i had to order a shot to put in it. They give you some type of dry bread which is very odd. I was expecting chips and salsa. My daughter and I were first timers to this restaurant and we both were quite impressed. The ambiance was perfect, the service was perfect, and the food was outstanding! We were brought complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa was a little different than we're used to but we both loved it. We ordered the Empanadas to share and could have made a meal with just a few more of those! My Chicken a la Crema was so rich and buttery that I had to hold myself back from licking the plate. My daughter was absolutely delighted with her order of three soft tacos. There wasn't a problem with switching out the shrimp taco with a second skirt steak instead. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME, A complete mockery to be honest called ahead to see when they stopped serving food, host says 1 am so we arrived get checked my security and then let in to pay that 15 dollar per person to then not be able to drink or eat because there's no seats nor regulation going on. Service is horrible the only thing they are quick to do is charge you 15 dollars to enter when it's a kitchen/ restaurant and not a lounge. So, everyone knows before you enter, the tables and places designated to eat food are first come first serve and they don't have any real proper waiters or busboys as they will not tell you this .So, if you see no one at a table and there's a sweater on the chair then it signifies that someone who isn't physically there can still occupy the table; that is ridiculous. As far as the dance floor it doesn't seem to have boundaries and spills out into the whole restaurant. They have a lot to fix but personally I don't think they will be in business for too much longer. They're lacking into too many areas to keep count. I won't be returning again overall HORRIBLE no other way to describe it. Only thing I can say that was good was the music and the decorative wall they have outside otherwise ain't worth the time.
