Ordered the tomato basil soup with the blt salad. Fast service. Friendly waitress. The salad was delivered prior to everyone's meal, I kindly asked that it be served when everyone's meal was served and with the soup. Waitress was happy to do so. Tomato basil soup was amazing. Regretted it was served NOT served with a cracker or roll of some kind. It was topped with 3 thumbnail size croutons. The BLT salad was a mess. Tiny diced bits of tomato and bacon (actually the bacon reminded me of packaged bacon bits, real bacon though way too small to enjoy.). The green was spinach leaves which still had their stems attached. It would have been much better to have had the stems removed. I would order the soup again but would not order the BLT salad again. Which is ashamed, because I like the combo. Just trim the stems of the spinach and chop and not dice the tomato and the bacon. read more

Went here early on a Saturday before it got busy. We were seated right away but waited forever just to get our drinks. While waiting for our food, we witnessed 2 tables ask for the manager because of not getting their order or repeatedly getting the wrong order. We ordered pizza and the waitress gave us dirty plates and the "fresh from the oven" pizza was cold. Needless to say, I will gladly spend my $60 elsewhere. read more

Welp, finally decided to do a lil reviewing for ol BJ's whorehouse.. I mean brewhouse. Haven't been in a few years and decided it was time for a change. Food was great, the only complaint is that the menu is so yuge that I had a hard time deciding on what to order. There were two parts of this particular experience that made it all the better. 1st - we had a pretty experienced hippy type waitress that was awesome, and extremely attractive if I were only a few years older, maybe my age right now??? Where ya at Karen?!?! 2nd - the coworkers and I decided that we'd been doing fairly well on our diets and were going to splurge on a pizookie. I believe this place is famous for those, at least to all the people that I talk to. Well, lemme tell ya, something about that warm, creamy, cookie-pie really got me going!!! My husband and I had lunch at BJ's today, and I must say we enjoyed the service and the food. We both had panini (caprese and meat lovers) which were quite good. We had the crispy fries with the panini, and they were crispy, hot, and fresh. The marinara sauce could use a little work--rather bland but you don't have to dip the panini. Now, about the beer--I had Oasis Amber and it was superb. My husband started with the Nutty Brewnette which he really liked, and then had Jeremiah Red, which he liked even better. The list of beers is slightly overwhelming, but given time we'll work our way through the list. Our waitress was attentive and quick--good service without hovering or being overly familiar. We'll be back--me for the food and my husband to try out a couple more beers! read more

This place was excellent we were there for a family reunion. We were scheduled to eat at Chedders couldn't get a straight answer about reservations for a group of forty they told us to show up early so we did and the they told us another 1.5 to 2 hour wait. I called BJ the manager on duty June 17 around 8 pm said he will get us taken care of if we could be there in 10-15 minutes i said yes. When we got there they had set up a table for 40 people we had 3-4 servers to wait on us. The service was excellent the food was hot and great thanks to BJ we survived our outing. read more

Me and my husband are frequent visitors to BJ's and I have to say most of the time it's been great! I have had only one bad experience at BJ's but it doesn't change my opinion about them. Crowded, somewhat noisy, and slow. So why four stars? BJs, despite its faults, manages to cater to everyone in an indecisive group. The grad student wanting to fortify on beer, the girlfriend watching her figure, the couple that want to share a pizza, the guy post A on a midterm celebrating with a steak, and the birthday girl hungry for dessert will all find something to their liking, even if that something isn't as good as the speciality restaurant they might have ordered from elsewhere. Fairly pricey food and drinks, but certainly not forbiddingly so. A good place for a night out with a group of friends, but not worth venturing out alone for. read more

My Wife accidentally dropped her phone in between the booth and the adjoining wall. The cover of the booth was able to come off, but the phone was stuck underneath and unable to be retrieved. They put multiple workers (during lunch/business hours) on it trying to get the phone. No luck. Hours later and a manager unscrewed the booth (no easy task) and retrieved the phone. 5 Stars for BJ's Customer Service. Made a bad situation into a good one. Don't know many places that would go through all of that to help a customer. They unscrewed a booth! Food was great. Will be back whenever I am in town. Earned a loyal customer BJ's! read more

Tonight we came in just for the triple cookie dessert and coffee. Our coffee was barely warm and our desserts were served in to-go foil pans? Rather esthetically unappealing and it was cold. The ice cream did not melt on the cookie. We told the waitress we would kindly like a refund for the dessert and our check for the coffee... The manager came over and gave us some excuse that they really needed more plates but corporate would not send them. Is this my concern? I just want a warm, beautifully served dessert that I want to break my diet for.manager should have gave us a $10 gift card to come back for dessert when they can serve us properly. I am sorry but I have been here twice and both times were horrible. The first time it took us over an hour to get our food. There were only 4 other tables besides ours even the manager said there was no excuse for it on top of that I ordered the fettuccine the noodles were not cooked they were still hard!! I always try to give places another chance so we went back the other afternoon for lunch and it was the same thing all over again!! It took exactly 73min28sec(I used my iPhone timer) to get our food and yes we kept asking our waiter where our food was...I ordered the pepperoni pizza and when I went to pick it up the dough was not cooked it was still sticky! So yeah I can not say good things about the food or kitchen staff at the Waco Tx BJ's. Only good thing about it was our waiter Rob he was excellent in trying to figure out what was going on and you could tell he was just as frustrated as we were. read more

Stop to grab a bit to eat with Solomon and Susan at BJ's in Waco before headed home after seeing Marisa, Warren and baby Colt. Ordered a gluten free desert and they brought it out as one. After I ate half of it Solomon tasted it cause it looked different than normal and he question if it really was gluten free. Come to find out BJ's in Waco does not have their business together and doesn't take allergies serious. Took a while to even get a manger to table and we find out they are not doing any of the gluten free process correct. Thanks BJ's Waco I will now be spending the night miserable and sick due to your negligence. My husband and I went to BJ'S on Saturday after opening. It was terribly crowded, but once we got in, the service was great. Even though our food was late, our waiter took it upon himself to check on the food 2 times, obviously since they'd been open less than a week, there were the opening problems and having such large crowds. So, we understand. The tables were smaller than usual, so I guess they could fit more people in. Now, the food and drink. I had the B.J.'s P.M. Porter, and it was the best dark beer I've ever had, smooth and rich, and went perfectly with my food. My husband had the Nutty Brewnette which was good, but more bitter than I like in a dark beer. Spinach-stuffed mushrooms, they needed to bring out a smaller serving dish as it made the mushrooms look even smaller. But they were delicious. I ordered the knife and fork sandwich, "Piranha, Pale Ale Chili Cheeseburger. The beef tasted of the highest grade, and my medium-well grill was perfect. The chili was also very tasty. I would order this again. My husband had the chicken fried steak, he said it was better than anything he's had in Waco, and I sampled the gravy, and although they didn't bring enough for a chicken fried steak, it was really good, and if it was a mix, they disguised it well, because it tasted homemade. All in all a good experience, more expensive than the usual places we visit, but worth it to save to go here. I think the noise and the longer wait for food with get better with time. I hope the food stays as good as it is! So for now, 5 stars! read more

Normally this is an excellent place. The atmosphere is usually great. The service is usually phenomenal. But for whatever reason on this night in particular they had one bartender working, when they usually have two. Not to mention other than when I first sat down, I was barely acknowledged. Then their computer system went down and they were having to hand write orders and all. When I was finally made aware of this situation, their system had come back up and along with a frustrated server finally made my displeasure known. The manager who had finally come out to assist explained the situation. At least at this point when I expressed my displeasure, I was acknowledged. During this whole time of the system being down, I had gotten my food, but that was it. No, is everything ok, can I get you anything else, nothing. But yet the bartender could still attend to the other customers at the bar. I do appreciate the manager finally acknowledging me and following up to see what else I needed. He even bought my beer for the inconvenience. But what troubles me about this entire situation, is #1, why wasn't there a second bartender working to begin with? There are usually two working behind the bar to begin with. 2nd, why when the system did go down didn't one of the managers come out to help sooner or at least send someone to help her behind the bar? Now 3rd, as I'm writing this is is obvious that something has been mentioned about my displeasure and that I'm probably writing a review such as this, LOL. Now with that said, as I just told the bartender, I don't lay the blame solely on her. She should have had some help or backup from the start. And when the computer system did go down, one of the two managers on duty should have stepped up and helped behind the bar or put someone there to help. You're a manager, you're in a leadership role, so be a leader!!! Lead by example! read more

I have been to BJ's back at home in houston, tx. The deep dish pizzas were actual deep dish pizzas like the one on the photo on their home page. well the deep dish pizzas we received at this BJ's looked like a take out pizza that came from pizza hut. It tasted like COLD oily cardboard with no sauce. the waiter did not even offer the option of steak fries for fish and chips. Instead they decided to serve a classic English dish with skinny fries that were cold. We asked for the manager and I addressed the issues about how the pizzas are not the same as the other BJ's I have been to. He told me "this is how they are supposed to be made and they were always like this." After I told him I just went to the BJ's at home 1 month ago, he tells me "we changed that 1 month ago." What did not make sense to me was the manager told me that they cook their deep dish pizzas in the original deep dish containers, but they transfer the pizza to a plate because it "keeps it warmer." I went onto the website for BJ's to find the corporate contact information, and the front page photo was a picture of a waiter holding a deep dish pizza by a clamp just as I described it to the manager. My total dining time was 2 hours. This place is not the same as other BJ's. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY HERE. I was there both last night and tonight. The food is just fine as the menu is so large. Last night I went to the men's room to use the urinal and I notice that someone had vomited on the wall and on the base of the urinal. I very nicely told the hostess at the front desk about it and they made out like it was so awful and it would be taken care of right away. No Biggie Right? I went in tonight and the same vomit was on the wall. I took a picture of it this time and showed it to the girl at the bar. She was casual about it. Like I said the food was ok and sitting at the bar for an hour watching the bartenders make drinks you are not getting any liquor in your drinks if that is what your looking for. I was a waiter and a bartender in college and its pretty bad I must say. So guys if your standing at the urinal and you see chunks of dried vomit it is the same that I say last night and tonight. We came with a large group for a family reunion. Our first restaurant fell through. At 6 o'clock on a Saturday evening, they accommodated our group of 40 people without blinking. They seated us immediately, and provided excellent service for a large group. The food here was excellent. The staff was great. They have a great variety of good food. I usually get the same order when it's To-Go. This recent last time I guess they maybe do not want me placing online orders anymore. My burger buns were rock hard like a brick. The burger was super dry with no spread, as I asked for extra which I didn't get. My salad had chicken on it sparingly and it was frozen! With the wrong dressing that I never get because allergic. The salad was almost $14. I didn't wish to phone in but I couldn't understand why someone thought this was serviceable in any way plus for nearly $26. The guy who was apparently overseeing things that night appeared to not be that concerned. I didn't think it was that hard to fix. I was placed on hold forever. Then he just goes "well, do you want us to remake it???" It was said like I shouldn't have called about it. I said I'm far away and I'm hungry right now. He never offered any other remedy for this jacked up order. He never seemed to put forth any concern one bit that I paid nearly $30 and couldn't eat any of it and I couldn't just drive 35 mins back over there. He placed me on hold once again so I just hung up. Made me a meal out of my frig for dinner with scraps (since it was the day before I went grocery shopping) and had to consider it a loss. I will not be back to this BJ's location anytime soon, especially for To-Go so they can throw you the weak food and run. read more
