As for the food it was very good, service started with a fresh loaf of bread and a ramekin of butter. most recent order was their Chicken Fried Steak, served in my case a house Salad, and seasoned Fries. The cooked food was very well seasoned and generous of portion, the salad fresh and well composed, with the Chicken Fried Steak being one of the better versions that I have enjoyed. Longhorn has great Lunch options and pricing, personable staff, and an inviting dining room. I would suggest though asking to not be sat near the entrance given that when it's cold outside you might feel a gust of cold air. read more

I hate to start off negative but was not impressed with the food or margarita. I got the bone in ribeye and it was the toughest and coarsest ribeye I've ever eaten. I only ate a few bites. It also had very little flavor. Salad was the best part of the meal. The watermelon rita they are highlighting had no watermelon taste at all. Granddaughter got the grilled shrimp and loved it. She got fries which were over seasoned with salt. Sever was not very attentive. I stopped a random server for assistance. Our bill was $70 and I'd think my steak would have been better. The picture makes it look delicious but trust me, either I got a bad 1 or their ribeye is always this way. read more

Ordered here for the 2nd time in a week. Got dinner to be picked up. First time the dinner was okay. 2nd time, my husbands strip steak was overcooked(ask for Medium). It was bordering on well done! Amazing service. We went during valentines and they were very efficient and fast even though they had a full house. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful as it was our first time. This restaurant is excellent! Why there are any negative reviews is beyond my understanding. My husband & I love to dine at this location & friends meet us there, quite often. We enjoy the western decor & friendliness of the staff. My fav entree is the 6 oz Flo's Filet, & my spouse likes the Chop steak entree, with mushroom gravy. The salads are exceptional, with crisp lettuce & veggies, a "must have", with our meal. Last Sunday, we had a kind & efficient waitress, who answered our questions & served us well, throughout our dining time. Because of family health & hospitalizations, we've been homebound. I was so hungry for a steak and sides I didn't have to cook....like a Longhorn ribeye, fried okra, and baked potato (got a baked sweet potato for my daughter-she is disabled and mainly tube fed but sure can handle that soft moist potato). I was a little hesitant about ordering a steak dinner on line, over an app for take out. The side servings were generous, steak was lovely size, tender, perfectly cooked and still hot in the box. I was really pleased and what a wonderful way to get your protein fix and even at home feeling satisfied with very happy taste buds and full. We came here with a party of 15 during lunch. Plenty of parking around the restaurant. Very clean inside with nice decor. Caroline was our server and she did an amazing job. Very friendly and constantly checked on us. The last time we had Anthony who also did an amazing job. They seem to hire great employees here. Lots of great menu choices. The food was very good. We got a few appetizers. My favorite was the shrimp. I also enjoyed the lobster chowder. I ordered the chicken fried chicken which was fried and seasoned perfectly. I highly recommend coming here. Just went here tonight for the first time. I have to say I am thoroughly impressed. Their margs were 10/10 and for the size, the price was amazing. They cook their steaks EXACTLY as ordered and the service was awesome. Our waitress was so sweet (although I cannot remember her name) and she was very attentive to our needs. The wife went with the Flo's Filet (medium well) and lobster tail + Fire-Grilled Corn on the Cob and garden salad. Both steaks were pulled at the correct time to reach the requested doneness. We were visiting Waco to celebrate our son's graduation. Our favorite steakhouse wasn't open on Sunday so we decided to try LongHorn. Many of the recent reviews were great so we were hopeful that it would be good. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. The hostesses were pleasant and we were seated right away. We noticed the restrooms were kind of dirty and the carpet was quite worn with food and debris throughout the floor. It was not that busy so we considered leaving due to the lack of cleanliness. We thought if the manager wasn't paying attention to the floor what else were they not paying attention to. One of the staff was cleaning the table next to us and did a good job with that but left food on the carpet that a child had dropped. It was kind of gross. Someone did finally come sweep up the food and we were settled so we just decided to stay. The waiter was attentive and our food was brought out in a timely manner. We ordered two Ribeyes, one Filet and one sirloin and shrimp. The steaks were all cooked well. I wish we could have tasted the natural flavor of the meat. Everything was so over salted it was difficult to enjoy. All I could taste on the shrimp was a type of season salt. The salad was generous and fresh. The baked potatoes were great. The bread was average. The last straw for me was the fact that after we finished our meal and got our check our waiter never bussed our table. I finally pre-bussed the dishes hoping he would get a clue and come pick those up. We sat to visit for at least 20 minutes and in that time no one came back to check on us or remove the dishes. We likely would have stayed a little longer to order dessert or another drink if the table had been cleared. Needless to say, at this point we don't plan on ever going back. read more

Sometimes cleaning out a drawer is more than just decluttering; it's manna from heaven in the form of two unused gift cards in a blue envelope from a long ago holiday. Gift cards that led to a day trip and lunch in Waco! What a wonderful lunch it was, too, at Longhorn Steakhouse. This restaurant is no peanut strewn honky tonk with loud music; it's a beautiful place that's been decorated with care. With its wood and stone interiors, bronze western statues, western art and pottery, deep comfortable booths and low lighting, the steakhouse conveys a sense of western refinement and a relaxed atmosphere. I loved it. Our server never rushed us. We ordered from the Lunch Menu. I ordered the 8 oz. marinated Flat Iron Steak at $12.99 with Broccoli as my one side. My spouse went for the Nolan Ryan Beef Chicken Fried Steak at $10.99 which came with mashed potatoes and white pepper gravy. He also ordered the hand battered fried okra for $2.99. They have a huge menu with a tempting list of delicious sounding appetizers. Ordering one would be a terrible mistake; we rarely order them when we are eating steak; but then they brought their signature whole grain honeywheat baked bread to our table and I lost all resolve. Terrific bread!! Soft crumb inside. Firm, slightly crunchy crust. With real butter, of course. Somewhere in between bites of the second helping of bread, our entrees arrived. My flat iron was a perfect medium rare. Both our steaks were tender. The okra was to die for - so fresh and crunchy. Everything was just the way it should be. Service was excellent. I wish the Longhorn Steakhouse was a little closer. An hour and a half doesn't make for a spontaneous decision to dine there; but we'll be back. read more

I almost feel bad writing this review about LongHorn Steakhouse. Normally our experiences are second to none, but this time was not the case. We ordered a couple of the renegade steak 8oz sirloins we asked for the medium cook. The hostess was extremely nice. Our waitress was also extremely nice as well however, when we said that one of our steaks, but really both of our steaks were undercooked,we asked to have my wife's redone. When it came back, you could tell that it was seared more, but the internal cook was not much different. It was very obvious that this was on a medium rare however, when the manager came over to see if the cook was done this items correctly she said oh you u wanted a medium well, we expressed that we have ordered medium multiple times from this location and that is not the cook that we received tonight the manager expressed are you sure you didn't want medium well and we said no,my wife said at this point she had lost her appetite due to the blood that was on the plate so she refused her order. It was very disappointing that the manager was insisting that we ordered the wrong cook on the steak. Hopefully this is just a one off, but I can honestly say out of the last five times that we have been there. This was the only time that we received not so good service. read more

We eat out every Friday afternoon and hit up Longhorn Steak House every 6-8 or so. The food is always very good, but what has made it even more enjoyable is our waiter Noah. We usually sit in the same area and he's been our waiter the last 4-5 times and is absolutely the best. Super friendly, but not in your face friendly, remembered what drinks we have and has them out to before you can blink an eye. He asks are you having the mushrooms for appetizer and then knows the rest of the order perfectly. He really surprised us by remembering it. Love tipping very well for service like Noah's. read more

The host asked us how we were doing and we said great and mentioned we just got married today. They say us down in a booth and we looked at the menu. Everything looked so good. The server greeted us and mentioned us just getting married. He let us know dessert was on him tonight. My wife and I both settled on a NY strip steak with seasoned fries. I ordered a salad and she ordered the broccoli. I already took a pic of the salad so didn't take one today. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms as an app. The mushrooms were heavenly. My steak was very good. Cooked medium well as ordered and well seasoned. The fries were good but slightly over seasoned but not by much. The complimentary dessert was huge. We together couldn't finish it. It was a kind chocolate dessert two fudge pie slices w whipped cream plus two scoops vanilla bean ice cream with fudge drizzle. In addition to the free dessert they gave us a card signed by the crew and a coupon for a free appetizer for next time. Didn't change my rating and some great info in the other review. Love the service here and am more convinced than ever that the employees at Longhorn Steakhouse desire us to feel like we're at home. If I could give y'all ZERO I would. My Mother came in tonight to celebrate her birthday. We also reserved the time for 6pm we were not seated until over an hour later. Our waitress was the WORSE! Her attitude sucked! She was rude and could not be bothered to get our orders right, get us refills, and just was unwilling to serve. She literally left us and the night manager took over and she was no better also had the worse damn attitude as well. My mother who was the Main person for the dinner received her food last! 8:30 pm we came in for late dinner, my husband and I. Only two other couples there besides us. We stood at the door for a while. Then, one of the waiters and a woman in a 1970 patch work print shirt came to the front. She said, "How many?" That was the only greeting we got, and it was a bit harsh. The waiter took us to the very table he had been sitting at. The seat was still warm from his butt. All the other tables were dirty and un bussed. And the tables were still dirty when we left. Then, our waitress came. She went through her usual spiel. Then, took our order. Also very cold and sad. The food, the salad, was great. The bread was old and reheated badly. My husband's Nolan Ryan chicken fried steak was a joke. A massive amount of breading with a thin, tiny piece of dry steak in the middle. The gravy was sour and tasted of spoiled milk. My salmon was burnt and very dry. The mashed potatoes were old and a bit fake tasting. The brown gravy was rancid tasting. The rice pilaf was mushy, and I only got only a couple of small table spoons of that placed around that burnt salmon. It was not placed on a bed of rice like advertised. Everyone was so unhappy there, we we felt that someone may have died so we didn't complain. And I'm sorry for their loss. This morning, I woke up with heartburn and a churning gut.
