I'm honestly shocked and extremely disappointed. I come here every few weeks and have never experienced anything like this. I ordered clam chowder last night and while eating the leftover soup today, I bit down on a small, hard white plastic ball that was inside the chowder. It is extremely hard and I can't even break it in half. It actually hurt my teeth when I bit down on it. I have no idea what this object is or how it ended up in my food, but finding a hard piece of plastic in soup is completely unacceptable and potentially dangerous. Someone could easily damage a tooth, choke on it, or accidentally swallow it. I took multiple pictures and kept the object because I want to know exactly what it is and how this happened. I've been a regular customer and come here every few weeks, which makes this even more upsetting. I never expected to find something like this in my food. This seriously needs to be investigated. We ordered a prime rib on 7/31/26 from West Covina BJ. There was not a drop of juice or fat in the prime rib. It's simply not a prime rib cut. It's the driest and toughest cow meat I've ever tasted. I suspect the cut is more towards the butt area, whatever it's called. Extremely lean. If I were looking for protein, it's heavenly. Not so much for flavor. Good bye summer, hello new school year! We decided to meet at BJs for dinner before the school year starts. We were warmly greeted by both of the hostesses and waited about 15 minutes until we were seated which was perfect timing, because at that point everyone had parked and walked in. BJs is usually our go to place, not just because it is centrally located, but because the service at this restaurant is always GREAT! We ordered some delicious drinks including beer, pina coladas and watermelon margaritas. They were so tasty and refreshing. I had the Thursday special of a half rack of ribs with a salad & mashed potatoes and the rest of the crew had the Southern Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy. Everything was delicious! We've lived in the area for a while and had never been to this BJ's location until this past weekend. The first thing to notice and probably the best part about this location is the size of the dining room. The dining room is nice and open, plenty of TVs and even with it being busy it did not feel over crowded. The hosts were great. We sat in a booth which was nice and clean. Our waitress was attentive and our food came out in reasonable time. The reason for the 4 starts is because our food could've been a little hotter. Our sliders were cold, the pizza pan was hot but the pizza was a bit cold in the middle. Our wings were room temperature. Aside from that, we had a great experience. read more

If you're calling a dry burger with hardly any condiments, "All American," then you'd better think again. The way it is now, it should be called the "Sahara Burger." What a disappointment. I had to actually dip it in ketchup to give it some moisture and flavor. It was only $13, and it came with fries, but still... Before I ordered, I asked the server if it was good, and he said yes. He gave me a bum steer. Maybe the burger came from a bum steer? Right? It could happen! My friend had the Steakhouse Wedge. $23.49. The-Tip and wedge salad. the tri-tip had no flavor at all. We came to BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse on a very busy Saturday night with no reservations. Despite the crowd, we were seated fairly quickly, which was a nice surprise and likely helped by our smaller party of 4 compared to the larger groups of 6+ waiting. Our server was quick, attentive, and did a great job checking in on us. Food and drinks also came out fairly fast. Unfortunately, the food itself was mediocre compared to the BJ's locations we're used to in Vegas. The calamari was very sour, most likely from an overload of lemon pepper seasoning, which really overpowered the dish. The steak was just okay and nothing memorable. The tavern-cut pepperoni pizza was not cut all the way through, so we had to break it apart ourselves. On the bright side, we were celebrating my daughter's birthday and received a free birthday pizookie, which did not disappoint at all. We LOVE BJ's pizookies and it's honestly what keeps us coming back. Stopped in out of town to visit this location for a quick pazooki date with my wife. From the start, the staff were young and seemed to be playing around with each other before seating us. After the wait, we finally sat down and even our server wasn't too friendly taking our order. The restaurant wasn't busy at all and after getting our pazooki, we didn't see our server for the rest of the night until we had to call him over to pay the bill. Outside of that, the pazooki was actually really good and had the perfect amount of ice cream on it. The atmosphere was lively as there were baseball games on at the time. came here for happy hour on a tuesday so the prices were great! sat down quickly at the cocktail tables and a server met with us so fast. love the idea of the cocktail tables so you don't have to wait long. you also get to sit near the bar and see the beer barrels and the bar setup which was cool to me. didn't get our servers name but ate around 4-5 pm. super chill and kind guy who got everything done efficiently. really love coming here for happy hour deals. i got a margarita and it was delicious with a salt and sugar rim. for appetizers, we got chips with salsa and guac and avocado egg rolls and they came out quickly since we ordered it with our drinks. for dessert we had to do the $5 pizookie tuesdays and tried the new flavors. so delicious but gets super sweet at the end so always best to share. got everything for $30 so tuesdays are always the best :D read more

We cam here during a Dodgers game so just keep that in mind since it probably played a heavy hand in the review. My friend's bro and friend were already seated and were in the middle of an order of chips and dips with guac and to be honest, pretty worth it for $4 since the guac is a very generous amount. It just needs a lot more pepper for a better kick (our pepper shaker wasn't the best out there). The table also ordered a hard root beer and even at a warmer temperature, it had a pretty good root beer taste to it with the ending notes of beer. I am sure it would have been much more enjoyable cold. After that we also got 4 orders of sliders with fries for everyone at our table. Each order came with a heaping helping of fries, 4 small sliders, and some shredded lettuce and tomato for as toppings. It actually took quite a long time for these orders to come out, a little bit of delay in getting ketchup and ranch (had to flag down 2 waiters), and this was of course due to how busy it was. Apparently our section was for Happy Hour and the other half of the restaurant was for regular menu price? We were closer to the bar area, so it was much busier due to the game. Fries were an abysmal mixed bag. Some were styrofoamy and almost cold when it hit our table, other pieces were crispy and warn, so I'm not sure if they were just combined with whatever was left out. Taking this huge amount back was a mistake since fries are never good recooked, and no matter what we did it was no good at all. Some of the slider buns were nicely toasted, the other buns were deeply charred. The smashed burger patties were also variable too. Some moist and patty shaped, others looked like random globs of meat thrown together and was actually pretty dry. 4 orders of the sliders for 4 people was WAY too much and we would have been find with just 3 since our left over to go actually made up an untouched order completely. The star of the night was the Spooky Pizookie, which is hands down the best pizookie that I've had at BJ's. Can never go wrong with the brownie crisp edges with the fudge shell on top of orange vanilla ice cream. Pretty mediocre food and experience, but again, very likely due to the game. read more

This was one of the worst dining experiences I've had. We ordered a pizza, and when it arrived, there was a long black hair baked right into it. We immediately let our waiter know, and he said he'd bring out a new one. After waiting another 30 minutes, he came back with the wrong pizza and then told us that if we didn't want that one, it would be another 30-minute wait. It basically felt like, "this is what you get, take it or leave it." We asked to speak with a manager, but no one ever came out. After waiting another 10 minutes with no response, we decided to just leave. In total, we spent about 75 minutes there and never even got a proper meal. About a day or two after emailing them, I received a response stating that I would be receiving a call from management to further discuss. I read the reviews and thought "ehhh it can't be that bad." It was THAT bad. We ordered 3 appetizers and 1 salad. It took close to an hour to arrive. The sampler appetizer looked thrown together by a 2 year old. The sliders had a dollop of meat that was the size of a quarter and they was burnt. There were no toppings either except for some shredded lettuce scattered on the side. The guacamole was over salted and had way too much lime juice. The ahi tuna salad tasted old and rotten, I couldn't even eat it because it was so nasty. The bread in the soup bowl was so hard it wasn't even chewable. The only item that was decent were the potstickers. We complained to the manager and she was great about handling the situation. She removed the cost of the sampler and gave us a free pizzookie. It was so chewy and stringy from muscle fibers that I had to repeatedly spit it out. I want to emphasize that this bad experience at BJ's (West Covina) was not caused by the chefs. The flavors, presentation, and crafting of my meals felt well-intentioned and well-prepared. Rather, these poorly acquired ingredients feels like a bad management problem. Honestly, this feels like a frugal, badly hidden attempt by management to scrape a few extra bucks off the unsuspecting. Fortunately, BJ's (West Covina) Management performs well in other areas. The ambiance is top-notch. The vibrant walls, clean floors, and shiny furniture are very well-maintained. The air ventilation is also strong and fresh which is comfortable and inviting. Despite the large flow of customers, BJ's (West Covina) also maintains its cleanliness. Many guests were also very entertained with the many flat screen TVs playing the football game. Boisterous cheering would occasionally erupt as each team scored. BJ's (West Covina) is very popular and busy for family gatherings, group celebrations, and the occasional hangout. I arrived at BJ's (West Covina) on Friday (around 7PM). It's located in West Covina's Eastland Center, so parking is plentiful. Customers overflowed; I observed gigantic groups just gathering by its doors. The front hostess informed me that a "Table for 1" would take 25 minutes, so I gave her my cell phone number and name. BJ's (West Covina) uses a texting system to notify when your table is ready. I waited for 34 minutes and 30 seconds for a table. I was greeted by my server Steve. I appreciated how he'd regularly check-in despite being busy. Steve would repeatedly say the phrase "Yes, Sir" which felt professional. Steve always appeared rushed, but he tried his best to mask it which was noteworthy. I ordered the "3 Course Weekend Special" - "Slow-Roasted Prime Rib" ($37.99). This meal also includes soup or starter salad, two signature sides, and your choice of a Pizookie dessert. I selected Clam Chowder, White Cheddar Mashed Potatoes, Roasted Asparagus, and the Seasonal Graham Crackers S'mores Pizookie. It's a massive amount of food with an ambitious, competitive price. The Clam Chowder arrived in nine minutes and 41 seconds. The Medium Rare Prime Rib, White Cheddar Mashed Potatoes, and Roasted Asparagus arrived within 17 minutes and 33 seconds. Later, after ordering dessert, the Seasonal Graham Crackers S'mores Pizookie took an additional 11 minutes and 51 seconds to arrive. Food speed is reasonable. The Clam Chowder had so much potential. It tasted creamy & smooth with well-cooked ingredients. Its diced potatoes were gentle, and its clams were generous & big. This Clam Chowder was also seasoned perfectly. The flavors were delicious, and if I'd ordered this by the seaside, I wouldn't have blinked. Unfortunately, the soup arrived almost cold. It came very lukewarm as if it had been sitting on the kitchen counter for too long. The Medium Rare Prime Rib, White Cheddar Mashed Potatoes, and Roasted Asparagus arrived picturesque. It looked beautiful, and it all appeared tasty. However, as mentioned, I had to repeatedly spit out portions of the steak for being too chewy. Although it was cooked at a perfect Medium Rare with a lovely seasoning, this cheap slab of meat had inedible chunks, barely dented by the provided steak knife. The Roasted Asparagus were also roasted well, but its ends were poorly trimmed which resulted in several inedible ends. Fortunately, the Mashed Potatoes arrived hot, hearty, and creamy. The Seasonal Graham Crackers S'mores Pizookie was the highlight of this meal. It arrived picturesque as if plucked from a commercial. Its vanilla bean ice cream is silky and creamy. Its marshmallows came hot with a lightly toasted crust and gooey marshmallow fluff. Its warm rich dark chocolate cookie melts in your mouth. As it breaks apart, its most prominent flavors are the rich, warm chocolate cookie and chill vanilla ice cream. This dessert is a lavish feast. Overall, BJ's (West Covina) offers affordable food, large portions, and a comfortable ambiance. Currently, its "Prime Rib" is fairly awful, but there's hope. We've liked BJ'S for two decades now, starting in Las Vegas and now mostly in La Jolla. This was our first visit to this one. It's convenient to I-10, but getting to it in the Eastland Center was a bit tricky. This is a quite large BJ's with a distinct bar area on the left as you enter and the dining room to the right. The dining room is on two levels, the upper one about 30" above the lower one. For a disabled person, ramp access to the upper level requires traversing the lower level to get to the ramp and then up the ramp. For lunch, we tried the $13 Pizookie Meal Deal for the first time. I had the Mini Deep Dish Pizza & House Salad Combo (4/5). There's a choice of pizza; I opted for the Five Meat Pizza, which is topped with meatballs, pepperoni, smoked ham, bacon, and italian sausage. I enjoy this "pizza", but it really is a thin focaccia with toppings. My wife had the Strawberry Fields Salad with Chicken (4/5). The chicken breast was nicely grilled, baby field greens and strawberries fresh. This was the first time we had Pizookie for dessert. The ones that come with the special are smaller than those on the Dessert Menu, which was OK. Frankly, we were underwhelmed. The base was more cake than cookie. An employee (who was out taking a break) saw me and he opened the door for me. Very kind and welcoming! I had placed my pick-up order via the website and it was ready by the time I had arrived. Everything was packaged well and I was soon on my way. The ice cream was in its own individual container so it did not melt onto the cookie. There was one other customer ahead of me picking up their order and for a weekday lunch, the restaurant was mostly packed. Mistake number 1 was coming here with high expectations. Our server was nice however when it was time to order we were debating on which beer to pick. She offered us a sample which we agreed too. We ended up getting a 16 oz beer of each. Our food came which was the steak and chicken. And the meat came still frozen. We waited a long time for the server to come back with our food. Once arrived the food appeared to have been microwaved. Whatever. We tried making the best out of the situation. Once the check came we were charged twice for the meal that had to be reheated and was charged for the "sample taste" we were never told about the process even though we ended up ordering what the server offered. Horrible Service!!! If you ever get the server AL, request for a new server. Service was very slow. The pizza was also lukewarm when it arrived. We constantly had to flag him down for our food or refills (which he never even refilled water even when it's empty). His excuse for his slow service was "The orders were already placed." Very hands off server. I understand that it can get busy but it does not excuse the fact there was no check in, only towards the end of our meal when we were done. When we asked about it, AL got defensive, gave us attitude and fought back that he "supposedly" repeated the order back and we acknowledged it. My daughter's meal was good just heavy in the butter but not bad she loved it. My dirty martini had a spotted old olive in it but the martini itself was good. Ordered a second one and olives were still not fresh looking but the Second martini sucked. My daughter had a bobalicious mango sparkling drink she rated it a 3 out of 5. This place is very noisy so if you don't like noise and you wanna have a decent conversation with someone, you don't wanna come here. The hostess had a bit of an attitude when asked how long it would be for our table. As I RSVP on open table. Then we sat down and it took them about 10 to 12 minutes to take our drink order The table had cheese on it, rice grain, and a hair. I brought it to the server's attention, Jocelyn.. I had to tell her twice. So I just asked her for a napkin so I could clean the table myself. She said that the bus didn't clean the table or the hostess before setting us down. Then the bus boy came over and cleaned the table. After receiving my drink 15 minutes The food came 37 minutes later. The waitress came out to us and told us that the reason why the food was being delayed was because of the burger. She stated it takes a long time for them to cook a burger. When the food came, my salmon was warm not hot. My rice was cold. Very dry. My broccoli was cold. The burger was warm, not hot like it just came out of being cooked. The shoe string onions were cold. The fries were cold. But she said that they were waiting on the burger. I would've thought the food would've came out warm or at least hot and it wasn't. To me, it appears that the food was sitting there for a while. Now the drink that I ordered with the pink lemonade, it seemed like there was nothing but sugary pink lemonade. I've ordered that drink before that beer and it wasn't like that before !! I don't know is because I complained about the hair that was on the table . But horrible customer service . We waited for the waitress to come back. She didn't come back when we were gonna check out So we asked the bus boy do we pay with the waitress or in the front He said he could pay up at the desk So he walked up to the desk talking to one of the guys at the to go area (Daniel) I told him my experience he said let me get a manager . She came over charged me after I addressed my concerns didn't apologize. All Geraodine ( which is not a manger) said was "if you would have told the waitress we could take it back to warm it up." so obviously she didn't care about the hair or the dirty table. Came here to celebrate my father's birthday and honestly, I wish we hadn't. From the start, our waiter Alwin S. acted like we were an inconvenience--rushed, annoyed, and barely attentive until we called it out. He pushed the sirloin special, which turned out to be one of the worst steaks I've ever had--chewy, tough, and almost impossible to swallow. Definitely not something you serve for a "special." The rest of the food didn't get any better. The ribs were dry, the asparagus looked like it had been sitting out all day, and the ahi tuna salad was a joke--barely any dressing, tiny portion of tuna, and it tasted old and fishy. Not fresh at all. When we told the waiter, instead of trying to fix anything, he said, "Yeah, I wouldn't eat here either." That alone tells you everything you need to know about this place. To top it off, the pizza came out late after everyone had already finished eating. I spent good money expecting a nice birthday dinner for my dad and ended up completely disappointed.
