Great food, front-of-house needs a bit of work... We made reservations for Mother's Day brunch a week ahead and thankfully we did as they had booked up at least 1 or 2 days before. Parking is super easy as it's in a plaza and shares a big lot with other businesses. They had a special menu, so I'm not too sure what is and is not part of their usual menu, but this is what we ordered: 1. Baltimore Crab Cakes (comes with 2): we were pleasantly surprised as it came with a side salad; the crab cakes themselves were not dry at all and came with a good amount of crab. Delicious, 5/5 2. Heirloom tomato and stone fruit salad: one of the things they pride themselves on is sourcing their ingredients locally and sustainably. You can really tell with this dish that all of their ingredients are really high-quality and fresh. The stonefruit was super sweet. The price ($18) was a bit high for the portion size, so this was a 4/5 for us. 3. Crab & tonnarelli: really good cook on the pasta; my husband is really picky on pasta that's overcooked, but this came to us perfectly al dente. There was a good amount of crab as well, so we appreciated that they didn't skimp. That said, the taste was a bit one-toned and underseasoned, which is a lot coming from us since we typically complain about food being too salty. If it came with a bit more salt, it would've been one of our favorites. 3.5 (maybe 4)/5 4. Pork sisig and garlic rice: we love sisig, so we had to order it. While it was super flavorful and delicious, we couldn't finish it on the spot since it was pretty salty and we were getting full. We did take it home and cook some more vegetables into it to dilute the salt a bit. 4/5 5. Ricotta cheese pancakes: super fluffy and airy, you can tell why they need 20 minutes to prep them. Again, the fruit they used was super fresh and sweet. Loved, no notes. 5/5 Service-wise, there were some hiccups with our orders. Our salad came to us without the burrata and when we asked them about it, it took about 3-4 people double-checking their menu to confirm it actually came with burrata, then a handful more minutes to rectify it. It seemed strange to me that they were unfamiliar with their own menu. Our pork sisig dish came out much later than every other dish and our waiter had to check up on it a few times, so it may have just gotten missed. There seemed to be a lot of people working in the front, but somehow hard to flag them down and get helped when we needed it. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt as it was Mother's Day and I'm sure it was busier than usual. Our waiter was also gracious in comping a drink as a result of the long wait for the sisig. Overall, we'll still come back as we want to try other dishes and we do appreciate the freshness of the ingredients and their integration of vegetables with dishes, which can sometimes be hard to come by. But their food was a miss for me. Stray away from their coffees.. We ordered a hot Vanilla Latte and an iced Brown Sugar Latte. Both were extremely watered down, worse than cheap diner coffee. Pork Sisig & Garlic Rice -pork was extremely tender melt in your mouth, even the bits cartilage from pig ear were soft. Well seasoned but not much tanginess to the dish as I'd prefer. A few coworkers and I decided to have brunch here for my early birthday celebration on a Thursday morning and I'm glad we did. Native Fields is located in a parking lot with plenty of parking. The restaurant wasn't extremely big but we had reservations just in case and it's a good thing we did because by the time we got our food it was a full house. There were 5 of us and we decided to do family style for 6 dishes. Everything tasted so good and we even had leftovers. We ordered the Ricotta Cheese Pancakes, Pork Sisig, Chicken Tocino Bowl, Strozzapreti & Mushrooms, and 2 items from the special menu: Beets, Citrus, & Burrata Salad and the Braised Short Rib. Out of everything my favorite would have to be the Braised Short Rib. The ribs were so tender and flavorful and the mashed potatoes that were paired with it was soooo good. The grilled chicken tocino was amazing! Juicy meat, crispy skin, well seasoned. The grilled veggies were a nice touch though i didn't eat the salad or rice. Burrito was good too, especially with the salsa. the inside had roasted potatoes which added nice texture, chicken sausage, cheese, and eggs for protein. also recommend getting a beverage, i had fresh squeezed OJ. They even brought us "consolation potatoes" to snack on while my friend's missing order was being sorted out, which I genuinely appreciated. But honestly, for the price tag, I expected the food to blow me away, and it just... didn't. As a total matcha snob, the latte was just okay (I've definitely had better). The Loco Moco was the biggest letdown; the patty was pretty bland, and the garlic rice was so mushy it felt more like a garlic puree. The garlic Parm fries were very flavorful and wasn't too salty. the lavendar vanilla match was light in flavor. Loco Moco party was tender but the gravy flavor was too light for my preference. My husband got the side of bacon and loved that it was crispy and deep fried. The OJ was good but I wish it didn't come with ice. The strange thing was the bottled ketchup looked dark (like it had expired) and it was so deeply squeezed the bottle had changed shape. The reason I would not give 5/5 is because the prices seemed a little high for the portions of the items. The curry was excellent, but $30 is a big price tag on it. We checked out Native Fields in Covina and had a wonderful experience that definitely earned 5 stars from us. The food was excellent overall, and we especially enjoyed the grass fed beef burger which was cooked perfectly. We also tried the pork sisig and garlic fried rice which was incredibly flavorful, though we found it a bit too greasy for our personal taste. The chopped salad was another highlight and felt very fresh. We spent our meal on the beautiful outdoor patio, which is such a nice spot to enjoy a clear day. We love that this place is so welcoming to our four legged family members since we can bring them right onto the patio with us. While we did find the service to be a bit spotty at times throughout the meal, the atmosphere and the quality of the ingredients made up for it. Had such a wonderful experience at Native Fields! From the moment we arrived, everything felt warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully prepared. We ordered the grilled chicken tocino and the strozzapretti mushroom pasta, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. Native Fields is such a.. an adventure every time we make it here. The weekends can get a little busy but there's usually not much of a wait if you can sit outdoors. Which is what we did. The menu always makes me want to order so many things but this is a place where drip coffee is non-refillable. But they do give you a proper mug and the coffee stays hot for a while. The food is always delicious, across the board, never disappointed. Their potatoes are some of the best roasted potatoes around. Very very friendly staff.. just came to find out there's no table numbers in the outdoor seating so the waiters/waitresses have to find the patron who looks the most hungry eyeing that plate they're carrying to tell which table it's for. What an amazing Valentines dinner experience although the initial advertisement I saw for this was a little confusing as far as a four course meal the menu was broken up in four categories appetizers, pastas main course and desserts, and each individual item was individually. I've been to some locations where they have a four course meal at a set price. Me and my wife ordered two starters the octopus and some oysters. Both were top notch very good quality and taste for my main course. I ordered the braised short ribs, which is up there in the top brace short ribs I've ever had very tender, very flavorful and very fulfilling. Our server was very cheerful and tentative. My coworker recommended this place so I decided to give it a try. Came here on a Thursday afternoon for lunch and didn't realize it's in the same plaza as Wallace Chicken! This restaurant has an outdoor patio but my friend and I sat inside. Ordered the chicken tocino bowl as this was one of their popular items on Yelp. This was a hefty dish. Presentation wise- it was really beautiful with the veggies, chicken, and egg. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and veggies were also perfectly charred and not too salty. The rice was also deliciously cooked-- the garlic on top was chefs kiss and I was honestly a bit shocked by how much I enjoyed the rice. I can tell the workers really do care about the plating and their careful touch. While the food was delicious, my only ick about this restaurant is the wait times. It took us a while to get someone to take our order and bring the food to us. My friend had also ordered a matcha and they forgot about it until she mentioned it again. Everyone seemed to be really busy and there wasn't much structure. Not sure if this is always the case but I also came during a weekday lunch. Also, because it is farm-to-table food, the price of this dish was pretty steep, more expensive than usual but makes sense for the quality of ingredients. I'm sorely tempted to gatekeep this place because it's awesome. The decor is fine, but the fact that they had someone stellar playing jazz standards made me so happy. I thought I was going to save some for my daughter but I devoured it all like the pig that I am. We initially wanted the kinilaw (Filipino ceviche); however, since they didn't have it available at the time, we ordered the loco moco plate (a beef patty dish with mushroom gravy) instead. Our server provided us a complementary cornbread appetizer because they didn't have the kinilaw. The food here, a fusion of Filipino and American cuisines, tasted delicious and fresh. I haven't had Filipino American food like this before and especially enjoyed the chicken tocino. I enjoyed how they seasoned it to have a good mix of savory and lightly sweet flavors. It also arrived with a soft texture out of the grill. I don't usually have Filipino food with brown rice, but that was a welcomed change. We liked the adobo baby back ribs as the sauce brought a nicely familiar taste. The loco moco plate also tasted good, but we agreed that it could've used more mushroom gravy. I also appreciated the incorporation of salads and vegetables in some of our dishes to make for more balanced meals. I had the hibiscus berry Arnold Palmer, but I wished the beverage size was larger since it was a little pricy for a restaurant drink. I went for my birthday and I had not been back for maybe 5 years since I was in school at cal poly. I don't live in the area anymore but I remembered how good the burger was despite it being pricey. Made a reservation and ended getting there earlier. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because they only had two servers on the brunch rush on a friday. The servers were not the issue at all, but I think they need to hire more people because the poor girl that is HEAVILY pregnant was a trooper and working through it. It was only her and another girl and the place became packed outside and inside. Place is nice the table plate holding condiments was kind of greasy. The food was really good. I got the burger and fries (it doesn't come with it) so add +$4 to a maybe $20 burger. Everything is supposed to be organic/farmer etc which I can appreciate. . read more

Came in for lunch with my coworkers. We're a pretty big team so it was greatly appreciated when the servers accommodated us. Food was great. I would say some portions or what you may get in the sides may be inconsistent though. My coworker and I ordered the same thing but got different veggies. Thankfully I liked the ones I got cause I wouldn't have like the ones she got. I also tried their Tokyo fog? The earl grey cream top with lavender matcha I believe. I usually don't get drinks when I go out but this combo had me intrigued. It tasted great! I would definitely get it again. I love my matcha so I had a good experience with this one. It can get pretty packed in there. The room splits in two so we don't see everyone that was in the restaurant. It was nice on our side at least. It was peaceful. I had a good experience coming here for the first time. I think I'd like to come back when I'm in the area! read more

A nice little spot tucked away in Walnut on Amar Road. I had the breakfast that came with a little salad, 2 eggs, toast and a chicken sausage or bacon. It tasted good. I ordered the freshly squeezed OJ and an Americano. but when the OJ came out it looked watered down and I had to get 2 of them to satisfy me. I asked for some jam for my toast and she brought me some, and charged me $2 for it and didn't say anything- I saw it on the bill. Wifey had the Branzino fish that came with salad and some slaw type things. She said it was good and light tasting. Overall a good meal. Good music playing overhead also. read more
