Millie's has been one of my favorite breakfast spots for years. We used to have one closer to me, so now I make the drive to the Covina location whenever I'm craving a really good breakfast. One of my favorite things about Millie's is that they're one of the few restaurants around that serves Spam and eggs. It's surprisingly hard to find on a breakfast menu, and they do it right. The food is consistently fresh, the portions are generous, and the service has always been friendly. Whether you're in the mood for a classic breakfast or just want a comforting diner-style meal, Millie's never disappoints. If you're in the Covina area and looking for a solid breakfast spot, I definitely recommend giving them a try. read more

Came out on a Sunday at 9am. This is a big restaurant, classic Americana vibe, lots of wood paneling. It's near the front of a strip mall so there was plenty of parking. We walked in and the first thing I saw was a glass case with pies (say less). We had 7 of us in total but that early on a Sunday we were seated without wait. We had a nice comfy booth in their side area. There were plenty of booth and tables walking in. The menu is EXTENSIVE. Something for everyone even a kids menu and senior menu. It was hard to make a decision, I almost went with the blintzes but my go to for a first try is usually waffles. We all had coffee and ordered. Staff was very pleasant and we ordered and waited. It wasn't too long of a wait and the our food arrived. They were very good portions and everyone was very happy with their order. I got the waffle combo. My husband got the Millie's plate. Kiddos got pancakes and French toast sticks. Everything had good flavor, if I was in the area again I'd love to stop by to try something else. read more

We've been to Millie's a few times, and it never disappoints! This time I got the What a Waffle combo, and my boyfriend ordered the 1/2 salad with ranch and a 1/2 BLT. The food was delicious, it has that cozy, homey flavor that makes you feel like you're eating breakfast at your grandma's house. The waffle was fluffy, buttery, and huge (I could only finish half!), and even the salad was a generous portion for being a half order. Service was great, everyone was friendly and welcoming. We were seated quickly even though it was a busy Sunday morning, and our food came out fast and hot. I also love that they walk around offering refills on coffee, such a nice touch! The diner itself has that old-school, warm, and cozy vibe, and I love that they also have a bakery where you can grab pies, cookies, or cinnamon rolls to go. There's even a cute little corner with Disney-themed trinkets and gifts, which adds to the charm. Prices are fair, especially with how generous the portions are. Food was good. We were there for dinner. It's a nice family restaurant. And our waiter Mario was excellent.

I placed a phone order for Mac & Cheese as my daughter suddenly had a craving. I arrived two-minutes later as I happened to be in the area and my order was good to go, wow!! What service. While I was waiting to pay for my order, I looked down and it was at that moment that I knew they had me. The register to pay is surrounded my pies muffins so I ended up paying for my daughter's Mac & Cheese and i picked up a small banana cream pie as well as a banana nut bran muffin for myself. I live in Marina Del Rey but decided to go to the LA Fair this year so on my way to Pomona I decided to stop in Covina for breakfast. I had already been to most of the others in the area so decided to go with Millie's as I had never been there before. I would classify it as a country diner versus a retro diner. The menu has all sorts of American comfort food classics on it, and few elevated breakfast dishes. Inside is quite large with many different seating options including booths, tables, and counter. Our server was very polite and he mentioned that he was just about to have his seven year anniversary so it's nice to see that this restaurant has a lot of regulars. Service is also really fast, our food came out shortly after ordering it. Parking is also very easy because there is a large free parking lot attached right out front. The food itself was just OK, definitely not bad, but definitely not as good as some breakfast spots here in Santa Monica or MDR. For my meal I chose the California Avocado Omelette and thought it was pretty good, but felt the protein amount was minimal. It's not quite as hardy nor do they have as large portions as some other places close by but I still enjoyed it. I think the pricing was fair and I would stop in again if I'm in the area, although I have had better breakfasts in the Eastern Los Angeles area. read more

What a pleasant surprise to our day. I was expecting this place to be like Dennys, but it felt down home. When we pulled up my wife said surely these cars can't all be for the restaurant, but they were. The place was pretty well packed at 10 AM on a Thursday. Personally, I loved the interior decor. It was Christmas decor and a slice of Americana. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We both enjoyed our meals. Portions were good. The biscuit and gravy were better than average. It's been a long time since we come to Millie's, we almost forgot it exists. The place is so dated but it's kinda comforting too... like home. The table where we sat was the brightest spot with good lighting which I appreciate. Server was good. Food was great. I have the meatloaf. Flavorful. My husband has the fried chicken... that's A LOT of fried chicken. A bit too dry on the chicken thigh. Cornbread was warm and delicious. Nice to have actual corn in the cornbread. If you're a hostage and you get let go and you need somewhere to eat this might be a good place for you to go but other than that steer way clear. Had a steak salad the salad looked like garbage. It looked like maybe they were using scraps of lettuce from other dishes to make this dish. The salad was mostly wilted iceberg lettuce. The waiter only came by the table twice to take my order and then pick up the food and then drop the food off. The host, the Buddy Holly look-alike was a prick. I ate here on a Monday,, about 9am. I had an oatmeal,, wheat toast,, coffee, and water. Including tip, $18. Not bad, considering our economy. The toast was golden brown,, picture perfect. I went to millie's today after a long round of golf at my favorite course Azusa Greens (it was epic). I arrived at the establishment at 12:14 in the afternoon and was instantly greeted with a smile by the wonderful host Mathew. He then showed us to our table which was very clean and tidy. Our server Maricela was wonderful and constantly checked up on us. My wife and I haven't been here in a year or so. We come for the quality of food and the atmosphere. The food was good, the portions are good, the service was good, but the price was at least $20 more than the last time we were there. I know that things got expensive but everything breakfast item was $15 or more. We enjoyed our breakfast, but I can't afford those prices for breakfast anymore. Not appealing at all.. tortillas were stale and hard, I ordered the strawberry blintzes, the blintz itself was ok. The problem was the strawberry they were pale like they were in the can way to long, they lost nearly all that lovely red color of a fresh strawberry, and the compote was strawberry water. Today was our first time trying Millies! We had to take our car for repair at Safelite so we decided to have breakfast nearby at Stacks....that was the worst idea! The food was terrible. Cashier was super friendly and apologetic but $17 for a vegan burrito?! Ridiculous. Got a veggie burrito with no chz and no egg add impossible sausage. It was an additional $3 for the sausage. Would be nice if they could substitute the egg and chz for the sausage and leave the price at $14 which is still over priced for a breakfast burrito. Nothing against the service but won't be coming back. I can't imagine this place lasting much longer with these prices. read more

Went for the pie. They have a nice selection of fruit and cream pies. Each personal pie is your very own personal "whole" pie in a small 6" pie! Warm up an apple or cherry pie and add ice cream, or get a cold lemon meringue, banana, or coconut cream pie! read more

Had breakfast here this morning. We've been here several times in the past, but this is the first time I've written a review. The food is always good, and I'd give the food 5 stars. However, the service today left a lot to be desired. Perhaps she had too many tables. Whatever the case, the service was horrendous. She never checked on us to see if we needed anything. We must've waited at least 15 minutes to get the check and a takeout container. She never came by. My husband had to ask the hostess for these items. I'm sure we will go back, but I hope we get a different server next time! read more

Millie's is a hidden jewel of Covina! Don't sleep on this spot you guys it's a must try breakfast/brunch spot. Doesn't look like much on the outside. Parking is pretty big so it shouldn't be a problem. My wife and I went around 11am and it was pretty full. They also have outdoor seating but you might need to call to verify to see if you could be seated outside it looked temporary outdoor seating so I'm not so sure. I got the XL waffle and my wife got the biscuits and gravy. Price was super reasonable in total we paid about 35 bucks and change. The taste of the food was also good! They did not disappoint! Nothing bad, nothing great I got the tilapia plate and mom got the chicken pot pie Mine was good and the served some type of pea glaze on top which was a nice touch. Mix that with the rice and yummm. It tasted like it was pre-made and over heated We were hoping for this golden flakey goodness but maybe it was just a bad batch. We came in about 10 in the evening and there was a large group of us. The host told us there might be a wait but we knew that would be a possibility, so we told him that was okay. Our server Mario was the only one on and he was AWESOME! No we didn't get refills on our waters. Um there was about 30 other people in the restaurant and he was alone, BUT our orders were perfect and hot! So, we took one with the other. The food was delicious! I had breakfast for supper, the waffle combo with scrambled eggs and it is seriously hard to mess that up! My husband's fisherman platter wasn't the best but he enjoyed it. However, their fried zucchini's were the best we've ever had. The only thing I can think of is that they should maybe consider trying to have more staff on a Friday night. Old School Coffee Shop!!! Attentive customer service, anticipating all our tables needs. Mario was an extremely wonderful server! He was as sweet as the cherry pies weI ordered. I showed up with friends for a late night snack. Cheeseburgers, Mac n Cheese, salads and fried zucchini were some of the hankerings we had. Not one of us was disappointed (unlike the many disappoints we have had, in past relationships) Millies display case is filled with home made pies and cakes (see photos). I'm dying to come back for breakfast! The breakfast menu looks incredible!!! A few of us tried the cherry pie. They're definitely homemade pies, made with fresh fruit! Honestly first time there, my food was cold,Even the coffee was cold and the waiter gave an attitude when asked if I could get warmer coffee and said" it's literally from the dispenser what do you want me to do microwave it?" As we walked in, the pies and baked goods were making us more hungrier. The hostess was nice and friendly as she walked us to the table. The menu food selections were enough to make us drool. Millie's once a chain in Southern California, now just a few locations. The restaurant is not to changed inside or out . One change is the Bible verses printed in large font atop each page of the menu, and the flag in the dinning room. The servers are prompt and personable. The menu is American diner comfort foods. I had the eggs Benedict my friend had steak & eggs. I requested hash browns extra well. The steak was ordered medium. Flavor of the items was acceptable everything was delivered hot. Presentation was nice as well . The down side the hollandaise sauce was congealed and lumpy. Steak was past well done. Eggs were poached hard. Waitress was apologetic would I go back only if I was in the area . I will say that while I did not try dessert it all looked good. Honestly, I'm a huge fan of the crepes/blitz but two days ago I think they cooked my crepes on some kind of grill because the bottom or them had marked brown/blackish lines and they tasted like burnt pancake and old cheese .
