I have been a BJs member for longer than I care to think about. I shop here weekly (sometimes more often). There are many things to appreciate - low prices on goods, high quality store brand items, friendly people who work there, great gas prices (especially with today's fuel costs) - but there are a few things that set them apart: 1) Shelves are generally well stocked 2) When I have needed to interact with customer service I have generally been met with kindness. Recently I had an issue when trying to buy a coach that I had my eye on. Manager Loyalty met with me, said that while what I was asking for wasn't normal procedure, she would take care of me. When I came back the next day they were out of stock on what I had wanted. She and another manager found an alternative for me and did a price match. I really appreciated their extra effort, the way they turned something that had been frustrating into something that made me grateful. 3) One of the biggest reasons I won't cancel my membership is that the company's stance on DEI. In a charged political climate where we have seen companies bend a knee to the administration on supporting LGBTQ rights, as well as the supporting equity, I want my dollars to follow my beliefs. It's not just a slogan, or a t-shirt, when I talk to the staff and compliment the company on this, almost always I am met with a smile. 4) They are with in City limits. Again I want my $ to go where I live. I don't have to travel to the county to do my shopping. 5) The deal with ATT for cell phones I got there saved me money over verizon. Every time I see the sales people for ATT I let them know I took advantage of the deal in this location. There's plenty of parking, it's right off the high way but also accessible through the city. read more

I've been to this BJ's Wholesale location several times, and it's usually the same experience--nothing remarkable, just business as usual. That changed on my most recent visit. I came in on Thursday, January 22nd, having a really rough day and stressed about the blizzard headed toward the DMV area. I honestly expected a typical visit, which is exactly what I got... until I got to my car. As I was unloading my groceries, a young man named Christos, who was a cart puller, came up and asked if I needed help. I declined, but thanked him and told him that small gesture had already made my day. He didn't stop there--he went on to ask a few other people if they needed help as well. This is the first time I've seen an employee go the extra mile at this location, and it really stood out. Sometimes it's the smallest gestures that can completely turn your day around, and Christos did exactly that. I wanted to highlight his thoughtfulness and let others know what a difference a kind employee can make. read more

Considering how much I shop here, this is basically my regular grocery store. It's a wholesale club. It's great for getting staple items. My kids go through way too much ketchup, macaroni and cheese, bread, milk. Eggs are usually a really good price. Fresh deli meat. Fresh produce. It really checks all the boxes. For a while, I was a little worried about going in here because there were these people representing or at least saying that they were representing BJ's, and offering these alternative sources of electricity to BG&E. I don't like having people walk up and solicit me for stuff while I'm trying to shop. If the fact that I'm wearing headphones isn't subtle enough to tell you to leave me alone, maybe when I tell you to leave me alone that should do the trick. They don't seem to be there anymore, so I never really did figure out if they actually were truly affiliated with BJ's. Their name badges were always flipped over, and they were always shady if you asked them to truly identify themselves. Anyway, this place is great. The staff is great. The people who check your receipt on the way out are fantastic. My only gripe is they moved all of the aisles a few months ago, and it confuses the heck out of me to figure out where anything is. Easy to park, and at 10 AM the warehouse wasn't busy at all. It's not one of the larger BJ's locations, but it had all the usual items at good prices. The produce looked fresh, and the bakery was well stocked. Super easy to access right off the highway. I'll definitely be back to this location. read more

I e been looking for a food warehouse to start a membership for years and finally settled with bjs. I went here to check out the prices since the grocery prices are steadily rising. I brought a membership off of Groupon for $30 a d was able to add another member which is cool. It's definitely worth it, the prices on items were way better than any grocery store on a lot of items in the store. They have a large selection of meats, the fruits doubled quantities and about the same price as the grocery store. They have lots of healthy items, as well as lots of healthy drinks and drinks made with natural sugars. I definitely will be coming back and definitely putting my membership to use. read more

Extremely unprofessional experience at BJ's. Security was acting like law enforcement over receipts for carrier orders and a senior citizen employee manually counting every single item while people are clearly in a rush. The receipt checking process is outdated, slow, and ridiculous. If theft is that big of an issue, management needs a better system instead of aggressive employees arguing with customers and delivery drivers at the door to verify items . read more

Placed an online order (first Time) Text message order ready for PU Baltimore Canton location. Upon arrival asked team member about the order she said can you go inside. We both agreed in was in Baltimore Canton location. Another person came over at this point I asked for a manager team asked did I get an email not sure let me check showed her my phone Email said your items are in White Marsh , Md So Just went picked 2 chairs 2 bags of pumpkin seed and went to CS requested correct any actions or words I spoke to cancel the order some lady standing talking what I could do and coulnt do.. totally ignored her. Went in today to spend the amount to get a free turkey and looked thoroughly on the coupon and nowhere did it say I have to come back between 14-15 to pick it up!! I ask an associate about the free turkey after I'm at the register and that's when I was advised about the turkey and my trip was specifically to get the turkey and give it to a family that can't afford it. This BJ's is missing something. I can't quite put my finger on it, but......... it's unlike all the others I've been to. For one, the shelves always seem a bit empty. On this particular trip they didn't have the spinach I wanted. But I did find everything else. The staff, for the most part, are friendly. Only once did I come across a woman who seemed less of a people person, but she still tried to help me. But, it's close, it's clean so I'll come get whatever I need. read more

On 10.1.22 drove here after checking the app for Halloween candy for a trunk or treat event. This was my first time utilizing this location. The app advised they had in stock the candy I wanted, but upon my arrival I could not locate it. I asked the lady at the entrance who advised that I seek assistance at the help desk, who then called for a floor support team member to help in the search. The team member got on an automatic forklift cart and started searching the racks above for the candy in question. While he was looking, I was beginning to get upset but was more excited to find candy that offered 5 more pieces for less than $3 than the other candy I wanted. Went to BJ's today 1/20/23 at the Snowden River Parkway Columbia MD location. Made a list of items to pick up and clipped all coupons from the website. I had 21 items to pickup and to my surprise 1/2 was out of stock! Everytime I come into the store..2 men approach me asking if I have received my"Free" gift card. Seriously...I am so sick and tired of these guys trying to sell me something. I just want to shop in peace! My membership will be up for renewal next month. I have decided to just keep my Costco membership because I have had much better success finding everything my family needs. I've decided I only need one membership and I chose Costco. Hello, Just wanted to share an experience I had today around 1pm at the Columbia, Md gas station.  On the wedsite I didn't see any corporate emails to share this experience other than yours.  There are 4 bays at this gas station when I pulled in I proceeed to the bay straight in front of me and there were 2 vehicles utilizing both pumps. While waiting the person vehicle 2 directly in front of me appeared to be finish as he was taking the pump out the tank. We sat there several minutes due to car #1. After waiting so long I wanted to be courteous to vehicle #2 so he didnt have to just sit there to pull off. Mt plan was to back up and let him to get to the pump however I saw an opening in the next bay and proceeded The gas attendant was still helping car #1,  I didnt want to get stuck, as they were there for some time.  I look to the left and see vehicles pulling out in the next bay in which I wanted to get to a pump that is on my left gas tank side. As I pull over to this bay I hear someone speaking but couldn't quite hear the words. I get out to pump the gas. The man behind me says "she was trying to get you to stop so you dont block me in" meanwhile the man is saying this as the vehicles to our left were getting in thier vehicles to pull off which means he could off. No other cars were waiting.  I insert my card several times it wouldn't scan.  Of course I go to the window and the young lady rudely says to me "I told you not to pull in and I shut down the pump". My issue is with the attendant beacuse regardless of the situation or how anyone interprets it she was very unprofessional. She could have walked over to the pump while she was out there and stated her reasoning, of course I would have explained. She couldnt confirm if i heard her or not. She apparently just rushed inside to disable the pump.  With this being said I will be canceling my membership that I've had since 2020. I have paid quite a bit of money in the store and at the gas station. I rather spend my money with professionals.  Just wanted to share this experience as maybe the company can provide that young lady training on how to handle customers. read more

The Comenity Bank MasterCard program is a scam! Do not sign up for the card unless you read the small print. They don't email or mail statements, and your BJ membership is automatically transferred to the card without your approval. Steer clear of their credit program and promos! They trumped up over $300 in late fees and finance charges based on a $55 membership fee. Even after BJs removed the fraudulent membership fee, the credit card after promising to remove the late fees and charges, did not, and sent the $300 to a debt collector! Though it's a nice store otherwise, their credit card program is a SCAM! read more

The worst store ever, every time I purchased food from their meat department, the food was bad and rotten, 3 times I had to take back the ground beef, and spareribs, the meat should have never been sold to consumers. Most of the items sold in the store are seconds yet they sell as first-rate/choice clothes, shoes, and household items. I have never been compensated for any of the bad food I had to return, time and money, to return the items. The store always smells like fouled meats, I asked why the fouled smell of meats, was told that the garbage collection was not picked up or the freezer was being serviced and I will not be renewing my membership again. read more

So i'm relatively new at the whole buying in bulk thing. That being said, I have found a membership here to be super convenient. I live really close so the gas station is essential! And, to be fair, rarely crowded. My roommate, who has a membership at much less convenient Costco, noted that they have way more name brands than other wholesale clubs. Prices are good and parking is never an issue. I will note, however, that the employees range from barely functional to useless. There have been several times when I've noticed a line at customer service (only one person working) and then multiple employees hanging around the register area doing absolutely nothing. On one of these occasions I was actually in line and the person in front of me was taking an obscene amount of time (had trouble understanding what a credit card was)--another employee was watching this entire interaction take place and didn't offer to help until I walked up to her and asked. Signed up for a membership online. I already do my grocery shopping in Canton so I figured why not, especially since my last trip to Walmart for bill items proved to be very expensive. After signing up for a primary and free household membership online it instructed me to pick up my card along with ID in the store. I also received an email with a $5 off coupon afterwards which I thought was a nice touch. The coupon had to be printed out and could not be scanned off my phone which I thought was a tad archaic and a waste of paper. Upon pulling up to bjs there was ample parking and the lady at the entrance was friendly and greeted us nicely. We asked for member service to pick up our membership cards and she pointed us in the right direction. We were glad to see no line at the member services. There were two customer service reps but no one greeted us or said anything so we decided to walk up to the 1st rep. I had to say hello to him, not particularly friendly. It honestly came off like we were bothering him. While waiting I noticed the store was pretty empty which I was happy about seeing it was my first time and I didn't know what to expect, especially with the forecast calling for snow. The process for the membership card took a bit longer than expected. You have to show ID of course and upon signing up online they email you your membership information, that you show to the teller, it's not scannable so it was a back and forth with the rep asking to see my phone. The email showed 2 cards, one for me and one for my hubby as listed in the email. He handed me my card of which I thanked him and asked for hubby's card. His response was well you only asked for one card when you came in here. Yikes! Let me get this straight, there are 2 of us at your counter, the email has 2 separate cards listed with 2 separate names with the wording "primary member" as well "household member" listed and you thought I would only want one card? Interesting. So then we had to do the whole process over, with me pulling up the email again, showing ID etc. I respect and appreciate the hard task of frontline workers during covid but there's never an excuse to blame the customer. Next time I'll try to be more clear and say the two of us are together and are both picking up cards together. As for the goods in store, we found some good deals on food particularly frozen fruit and other frozen items, whole chicken, Cracker Barrel cheese, and household items like dish soap, plastic forks/knives, bottled water and ice melt etc. There were many items that despite being a larger size still came out to the same price as Harris Teeter supermarket prices, especially Bath, beauty and laundry products. Some meats and seafoods and especially the all in one meals I thought were overpriced. I think the keys is being aware of what the store prices are based on weight. The electronics section had a nice variety of flat screen TVs at great prices. The store was so big we only made it to about 75% of the store but the idea that you could find almost everything you need is comforting especially when covid is over and hosting resumes. I did notice in the frozen section they had loads of boxes of eggo waffles just sitting on a pallet on the ground in the aisle in front of the freezers but not inside the freezer where it could stay cold. That was concerning and definitely made me wonder if they ever let their meat or diary products sit out unrefrigerated like that. When it was time to check out, there were no lines, only a cluster of customer service reps all gathered at one register having a disagreement about break times. We had to wait patiently until they finished. Please note you have to scan your card prior to them ringing up your items. We weren't aware and all just stood there until I asked if she needs my card. Phew. My first trip to bjs overall was a three out of five. It had its highs and lows. I would return only for some of the deals but would be hesitant to recommend to others in fear they would experience the same flawed customer service. Customer service has a lot of kinks to work out. Upon exiting you show your receipt and once again the front of store lady was super friendly and kind on the way out. read more

Horrible customer service. I attempted to place an order using the BJs app but checkout would not process. I tried several times. A call to BJs confirmed the app is not working and to use the website instead. The order on the website would not process because every failed attempt I made on the app resulted in $118 authorization hold on my credit card, seven times, which wiped out ALL my available credit. Now I can't place an order at all, anywhere. Called my bank. Called BJs again. BJs refused to reverse the seven charge holds "because no order was made". BJs attitude is Too Damn Bad. I am uninstalling the app and canceling the BJs membership. read more

I am specifically writing about the customer service I received during a recent return. I returned a package of Lobster Ravioli that had blown up like a balloon more than a week before the "use by" date. I live nearly 30 minutes from this location, so I don't come by on a whim... or simply to return something that went bad. So, I waited until it was convenient and I had enough things on my list that it was worth it, which was 2 days after the "use by" date. The lady behind the counter took over 25 minutes to process the return, and wouldn't give me the credit to my card since I didn't have the receipt. It's a membership club! You know every purchase I've ever made, based on my membership number! It was bonkers. It was clear that she wanted to make it as inconvenient as possible, and made an extra effort to dramatize her throwing away the item. Of course you have to throw it away, it's gone bad! She was very apparently not trying to help me, and for the money, I'd much rather patronize Costco! There's nothing special about BJs that I can't get elsewhere. read more

Although the prices are great, the quality of the food is horrible. Walking through the meat department yesterday, there was an overwhelming smell of rotting meat to the point that I needed to leave the store and refused to purchase any of the meat on display. In addition to that, they have sales people who walk around and ask to see your BGE bill.. it's seems like a scam, and they follow you around the store. Not only is it just annoying, but they're also very rude. The sales person yesterday, laughed in my face and walked away talking poorly about me because I refused to listen to their sales pitch... again. This is every time I go into this store. They also reinstated my BJ membership before my first membership expired, I did not plan on renewing and they refused to cancel my account and refund me. BJs is horrible!! read more

Just like other wholesale club stores, BJ's offers what variety of grocery, household items and just about anything else you could imagine wanting to purchase housed in a huge warehouse with endless isles Currently it's nice, new, and clean and not super crowded. Some weekdays it's actually pretty sparsely populated, the parking lots is wide open. Difficult to rate a warehouse store. But this is Yelp, so let's talk food. BJs pizza is subpar. I can think of another competitor's pizza that has a crust that is not as flat, more airy, and does not get so stale after a day. BJ's toppings are more spread out and less robust. They have a gas station as well, with some discounted gas. Definitely a plus. I wouldn't come here just for the pizza, but I'm glad to have a warehouse store around the corner in canton. read more

Great selection, decent prices, almost-there execution though it's not quite Costco precision. The best part is you don't have to buy crazy sized portions. The prices seem a bit higher than "the other guy" but there's definitely more items, different choices and selection... I would say BJ's is a cross between Costco and Target. They also have a gas station which has its about $0.10 cheaper. The food court is an AVOID---pizza and hot dog were bleh. read more

I have never written a review before for anything. The service at BJ's tire department was probably the worst service I have ever encountered. I was standing waiting to be checked in and the serviceman Tyerone told me have a seat he won't see me for 3 hours as he chuckled. He told me he was too busy and didn't have time when I asked if there was a form to fill out. I was told go to Valvoline they will patch your tire( I called) they don't. He never asked for my keys, never asked my name, didn't give me the time of day. I would have bought a new tire from them. Highly recommend you go somewhere else. read more

I've had multiple issue with this place in the last few months from the deli not wanting to slice the meat how I prefer to the attitudes of the workers behind that counter to a current issue of having to order a replacement tire because of a flat repair that couldn't be performed and still haven't received it. When you call nobody answers the phone and or they send us home early because they didn't book all the availability. Still love that they have so many items to offer but this place needs help! read more
