Hours listed to open till 10' PM and another Bjs gas station I was at in Delaware was open until 9 PM. Another visit here may be different but this was disappointing. Maybe they ran out of gas or should've said that even if not true. For all I know, they could've pushed a button to accidentally shut down the pumps early and turning them back on takes up too much energy or could screw up the system. Looks like you need a professional to turn the pumps on properly and I would not expect a gas attendant to have this kind of knowledge. read more

Shopping here very thirty years and my first bad experience but it was worse than bad. Stopped at the deli counter and found in the pre-sliced case fresh one pound packages of Citterio pepperoni and Munster cheese. Planned a simple dinner of a salad and toasted pepperoni & Munster cheese paninis. Everything looked great when I served my company. But when they bit into their sandwich, they pulled out the clear plastic threads of the sliced pepperoni wrapper. The deli associate didn't remove the wrapper before slicing the pepperoni. I collected the paninis for the kitchen trash can and started a new batch of plain cheese paninis. I explained I might have not put an item in my cart. The gentlemen's name was Joel.The receipt was perfect! Joel was kind, caring and very professional. I like this store because some things are priced good! But this is the second time I bought meat and had to trash it. The first was a couple months ago when we bought country ribs.... They had so much fat that it was inedible. I got the store brand bacon last week and we cooked it today...I had to throw out 90% of it because it was just fat!! Just thick white fat with no meat! I visited this location on a Wednesday night to pick up a few items, so I wasn't there long. But here's what I observed from my first time there. The good... --A gas station at this location (prices about 15¢ cheaper at the time of this posting--$3.13/gal). --They sell alcohol. --My check-out experience was quick and painless. --They have some friendly, courteous people working there. The not-so-good... --It's smaller than other locations I've been to. --Layout of the store is different from what you'd typically expect from other BJ's. --The parking lot and outside entrance are not that well lit. --They have some annoyingly rude, not-so-courteous people working there too, unfortunately. The weird... --A random person with a clipboard approached to ask me if I had an Android or iPhone. I told him I left my phone in my car and continued on before he could elaborate further. The guy was probably a phone plan salesperson, but I didn't want to be bothered with things like that (I just wanted to find what I needed and be done.) Home improvements - Very high price quotes after a very long process. They advertise a quote good for a year, but gave me a price $17k higher if I didn't contract on the spot. They wanted to finance even though I didn't need it. That and high pressure sales tactics to "buy today" from some numbers scribbled on a blank piece of paper that didn't say what it was you would be agreeing to pay for. Their "buy today" price was about 20% higher than reputable local contractors estimates Tires - Horrible customer service. Took 4 visits to get tires I found online installed. Installation wasn't done right - had to take the car back to the dealer to get it looked at and fixed because they refused to do anything although they claim on their website to warranty their work - manager is never in the store and will not call me. Had to go back to the store 3 times over a few weeks to get the advertised discounts and promotions actually applied to the net purchase price Groceries - almost everything is cheaper in other stores. Beer, wine and etc. Seems cheaper most of the time in Wegmans and Shoprite. Gas - You can't beat the price for gas, but lines are often long because some lanes are closed. read more

One plus: their clothing goes up to XXL sizes for those who need it. Costco sizing usually only goes up to XL. One negative: maybe I came at the wrong time, but where are all the samples? (oh yeah members only) I also had to buy stuff for a corporate picnic so it was nice to have the free membership. Great place to buy in bulk, first and foremost, but you don't HAVE to buy in bulk. They also sell alcohol (wine, liquor, beer), furniture, books, and clothes. I always get my eggs, almond milk, and salad from here. They have lots of hors d'oeuvres if you're looking to host or attend a party. I did have an issue once where I bought Uggs that were on clearance. They had boxed 2 right-footed boots. I was forced to return them which upset me, but they called me back when the person with 2 left-footed boots returned theirs. I wasn't a huge fan about the customer service experience with this, hence the low stars. Other than that, the quality of the food here is good and I shop here at least once a week to get a lot of my groceries. This is a good place to get holiday related items. Obviously two orders. Go to the self-checkout. She comes over, "this is 15 items or less". I say okay I have two orders. "IT DOESNT MATTER YOU NEED TO GO TO A CASHIER OR WAIT OVER THERE" now before I can explain anything further I'm being yelled at. She obviously didn't see my mother and may have thought I was tryna do two orders on my own. So I kindly walk off cuz if I don't I'm fittna get GHETTO on this fine establishment. Because I didn't have a problem with the message. It was the delivery. I get it. She's probably told this to a thousand people as the lines were long that day but if you're that pressed? Go ahead and clock out baby. So I get in the appropriate line my mom walks over and I tell her go in the lesser line and I'll hand her stuff to her because she had 5 items. I wait in this line and family....I checked out 16 items. SIXTEEN. Trust me I probably had a few things in the cart I didn't need so I coulda put one back to fit the requirement. During my wait, I've heard her inappropriate tone and volume with several other people at checkOut for various reasons. Meanwhile there is another male staff moving the line traffic and getting people moving with dignity and respect. Please and thank yous every other word. Will only accept monthly Costco coupons Must show membership card at door No alcohol sale. Sam's Club closes at 8:30pm Mon-Sat / 6pm - Sun Only accepts Discover credit cards Will only accept Sam's Club coupon (They only send out coupon books for Premium Membership) Must show membership card at door No alcohol sale One downfall to BJ's is the fresh produce. Pay close attention to how old the fruits & vegies are. For some reason, most of the BJ's I've been to do not seem like they have super fresh produce. I think they just don't sell them fast enough like the other two clubs. Registers are pretty well staffed all the time as opposed to the other two clubs that have long lines just about all the time. They sell liquor, wine, and beer which is always time saving. I usually buy water bottle poland spring if you must know and steak chicken and ground beef in bulk. So for me, BJ's is a perfect place to replenish the storage :) There is not much one can say when reviewing a wholesales club, but what I like about this particular BJ's is that you can buy alcohol fairly cheaply... The service is always good and the location (at least for me) is perfect... The lines do get a bit crowded, especially on a weekend, but if you come early enough or go during the week, it's not an issue... I am writing a review for the first time because I am still having a hard time with what happened to me at the B.J.'s in Maple Shade. Although I am sure the cashier was doing what she was told to do- I am appalled. While checking out, she noticed that an individually bagged bagel rang for $2.99. She immediately turned to the cashier next to her and asked "How much is one bagel?" The cashier answered, "we don't sell them individually-throw it out" And at that my lunch ended up thrown in the trash. What a horrible waste of food. Can their policy change ? Here are 2 suggestions: Put the individual bagels behind a counter and have an associate bag them up and explain this policy if necessary or sell them individually. This is my go to Bj's location. We belong to both Costco and Bj's, we like certain things from each store. My biggest issue with this location is when I go in there never seems to be any carts, I usually have to walk back outside. The produce is always fresh here and the lines aren't really that long. I also love the meat selection at Bj's, especially for a BBQ or any type of party. Keep an eye out for the coupons as well. I spend a fortune in here but the savings I get buying in bulk is amazing! Household goods, frozen foods, pantry items, the list goes on & on. My parents are grateful we have a membership because I save them 30% off on adult diapers & pads. But the biggest savings comes from the allergy pills I get there. Regretting becoming a member after being lured in by a discount membership offer that came in the mail. This store is absolutely NOT for people who do not buy in bulk. If you don't have children and don't need to buy a lot of stuff, this store is useless. It also looks very old, dated, cluttered, Produce does not look fresh. The brands are not what you're used to, and not high quality. It's like cheap Aldi products. Hard to find anything organic or high quality. So, I cannot make this my one-stop-shop. I will still need to go to my regular supermarket, Whole Foods, etc. I will also still need to go to Walmart or Target for other necessities and familiar, quality brands. This store also has long check out lines depending on what time of the day you go. The online shopping is a joke, most products on their site cannot be purchased online. Not sure if they allow you to cancel your membership for a refund, if they do, I will be canceling it asap. Just not worth it for me. read more

Good wholesale club in general but recently had to get a new membership card because mine broke. After several visits I was asked to renew my membership. I did, but hesitantly because I thought it was just renewed a few months ago. A week later I realized that they gave me a membership card with my picture on it with a different club members name. I had paid the renewal for Q.L. (Initials of other members name). I made a special trip up to return the membership card and get a new one. Would've been nice for Manager to offer to compensate me for my time and effort to correct the problem.
