8/29 not sure why the deli has so much trouble getting wing order for pick up?!? This is the 2nd time I called in ordered, wanted 2 boxes and got there and they had one!!? That one was just a regular breaded box of wings, the other was a little more specific but still it was a box of wings! After the lady double checked my order on the phone...still wasn't right?! But the gentleman pulled other boxes and made it right. Maybe they need a check on orders?? It's funny to think of a Publix as fancy- but this one is on the fancier side! Great produce, deli and seafood departments. I always like the consistency with Publix employees being friendly, helpful and just courteous. I know work is work- but I appreciate that they instill customer service so thoroughly with the staff. Told the cashier ahead of time that I would need cash at checkout. Was not aware that I needed to use my debit card to get cash back. When I said I needed cash, she asked if I had used my card, and I said yes, not knowing she meant a debit card, which I do not usually use. She was very snooty, saying, "Everyone knows that you need your debit card." I said, obviously, I didn't know or would have used it, and I replied, "You should say that when customers are checking out, especially if they tell you ahead of time. The manager heard the conversation and did nothing as I was leaving. I turned around and saw him laughing. I went back in, and he was condescending as he said, "Everyone knows you use a debit card." Needless to say, my husband and I, who shop there quite often, will not be returning. I'd rather give my money to Winn-Dixie or Fresh Market, which understand how to respond to customers in a more down-to-earth manner. read more

I have never ordered a cake from publix until today. I can say that I am super pleased with my order. I designed what the cake would look like on the inside and outside and it came out exactly how I wanted it to! If you need a special cake at a decent price (mine was $23) order it from Publix! While I do find some of their prices to be a little high, they do have wonderful selections. Their key lime pie is divine!! They have a nice selection of foods on the go. Great chicken wings. If you plan to stick to those news year's resolution goals, of going low carb, I highly recommend staying away from that fresh baked bread. Their buy one get one free offers are a great deal. They also have some wonderful teas, lemonades, and unique products that you won't always find at your typical grocery stores. They do well on keeping their shelves stocked too! One of my personal favorites is the poppi drinks, and even more so when they have buy one get one free deals on it! Nice selection of healthier drinks too! Kombuchas, stevia drinks, sparkling waters. I buy almost all of my medications at the Publix pharmacy on the corner of Mandarin Road and San Jose Blvd. Everyone in the pharmacy has always been friendly, helpful, and warm. It certainly makes me feel special when they greet me by name, and remember from one visit to the next any special requests I had made. I started shopping at this particular store about eight months ago My family and I have only good things to say about them! Publix overall seem to have this general work ethic but this store is special. The deli staff is outstanding and don't even flinch when I ask for 2 butterfly shrimp, 1 onion ring, 1 chicken tender and a very small scoop of glazed carrots although it makes more work for them. This is a rating for the pharmacy. It is absolutely the worst Publix Pharmacy with the rudest staff I've ever encountered. I called one morning to verify something would be ready for pick up that day. The girl put me on hold and checked. I was told anytime after 5pm I could pick it up. My husband went in at 8pm, waited in line 30 minutes only to be told it wasn't ready because they needed to call the doctor's office. He was annoyed after standing in line so long. When he told me he couldn't get my RX I called to ask why. The pharmacist couldn't have been and any more rude or offensive. I asked why was I told anytime after 5pm and if that changed, why wasn't I notified. She was screaming at me telling me it's not her fault if the tech was unaware that the doctor's office needed to be contacted. Well, she's the supervisor and it is her responsibility to see that her employees give customers accurate information. Well, she told me that she was busy and all addicts claim to need their meds immediately. I will never step foot in this store again and may not use a Publix pharmacy. A pharmacist who has no personal knowledge about a person and proceeds to call a customer an addict has no business being employed. Many people take meds for many reasons and she has no business making a rude judgment. read more

I very much enjoy shopping of this particular public's the customer-service is usually very good and they're usually very strong at rotating their product. The vegetables and the fruit were far more fresh than the public's on Saint Augustine road in University. And the refrigerated department they did have two expired veggie Burger packets which I gave to the cashier to take care of. They did get with the manager of that area. COVID-19 UPDATE My family will no longer spend our money there as it was evident that all staff is not required to use personal protective equipment (PPE such as masks and gloves). We observed this several times before deciding we will not return. One employee behind the deli counter informed us that she would not wear a mask because it was uncomfortable...and then began to slice our deli meats, even though other deli employees were wearing masks. We refused to accept the meats and notified a manager. The company does not require guests to wear any PPE nor do they require social distancing. Lines of people standing within 2-3 feet of each other without masks was evident during several visits. We do not, nor will we in the future, support businesses that place their profits above the health of their employees or patrons in direct contravention of CDC guidelines. Profit and public health can and must go together. read more

This is my favorite publix. Best customer service hands down. Offers to help you to your car, friendly, people leave you alone or chat friendly, people have manners and say excuse me in this store. I'm pretty close to 3 locations but I prefer this one. When I moved further towards Fruit Cove I shopped all 3 to compare out of them all this is my favorite. The deli always has every flavor/type of wing made they offer any time of day. I'm a bakery snob cause I use to manage one but I gladly buy all of their products. Meat, seafood, produce all super great and helpful. Then in grocery there's Rodney! He's wonderful, funny, and helpful! Also, my 7 year old is all about her Mr. Rodney and always has to visit him to say hi and get high fives. The girls up front are great and always helpful! I will say they reset the stores too much - too confusing and as far as i can tell, not much value to the activity. Finally, be aware of the new pin pads. Went in to quickly grab some stuff. I decided to grab the Publix-made fruit yogurt and was very disappointed. It literally tasted like a woman's private area. I don't mean to be direct but, I really think someone didn't wash their hands well at all and the gloves that I'm thinking they have to wear did not do them any good because the taste and smell are on those yogurts. At one time this was a very good store. Lack of Management, Lack of employee training is why I am giving 1 star. I haven't seen a manager walking around this store in almost a year! I'm tired of cashiers and bag persons NOT knowing how to bag my groceries! Tonight, the bag person stacked 2 cans and 1 container of condensed milk on top of my eggs. Are you kidding me???? Night before last, the cashier singled bagged 1 gallon of milk in a plastic bag. Yup, like thats not going to end up on the driveway.... This is the only Publix where we seem to have issues. The one located 3 miles to the south on SR 13 at Julington Creek - no issues! Fast, Friendly people, Always see a manager up front and/or walking the store. Properly bagged groceries! Same with the one 4 miles to the North of this store, located next door to Target. HELLO PUBLIX WHAREHOUSE...PLEASE ASSIGN Some management to this store! Clean store, extremely helpful people. Not expensive if you buy according to the specials. No attitude if you return something. They will even hold an umbrella that they provide over your head when it is raining while you push your groceries to the car. The deli, prepared hot foods and bakery are all fantastic. It is sad that local grocer Winn-Dixie has surrendered the crown as the king of grocers in Jacksonville. That said, Publix just keeps getting better. This is "My" Publix. Don't get me wrong, every Publix I have ever been to has wonderful customer service but this one has gone above and beyond for me personally a few times! From the Pharmacist locating and having a medication my dog needed delivered, to special ordering a hot sauce my husband was looking for, to making a specialty last minute cake that I needed same day. All of these done with a "happy to do it" attitude and not once making me feel like I was a bother. My mom and I have a little competition on whose Publix is the best and are always trading stories about the little extras each of our stores do for us. Not sure how you guys do it, but I have yet to come across another company that is as wonderful to their customers as you guys! read more
