I bring home wonderful plant-based ingredients to cook for my family, including tons of faux meat, nondairy cheeses, and terrific cruelty-free household items, as well. I'm glad I took my friend's advice and switched from the primary competitor (Costco's) because she was right: BJ's has a much better selection of great finds for vegans! I certainly like walking into BJ's without digging around for my membership card first. Of course you still need to show it at checkout, but that's not nearly as inconvenient. BJ's has cheaper gas prices and is convenient but these sakes mailers and coupons need to go. It's confusing and inconvenient and too many mailings. Costco gives us one mailing a month. No coupons anymore and sales flyers will say 2.00 off or 3.00 off. Just tell me the price. Also, yo tell me if I spend 100.00 in one visit I'll get 20.00 off of an item is ridiculous. Great quality here at this big box store! Recently we stocked up on "emergency" staples: canned goods, rice, pasta, paper products, batteries, soups, water, etc. We spent a pretty penny, but it was worth it. There are tons of coupons honored here, but it's easier to download the app to avoid all those coupon books! They had a special where is you spent over $150 (which is easy to do here) between certain days in November, you can come back with your online receipt, and get a free Butterball turkey up to $25 value. We were able to receive 2 turkeys, one of which we froze. What a nice benefit for being a member here @ BJ's. The membership fees are reasonable and you can share your membership with family. The bakery section is scrumptious, the meat department is pretty good, and the produce is excellent. They also have a decent electronic and tech area, and the seasonal aisles are always fun! Unlike most of these "warehouse" type stores, there is no snack shop @ BJ's. The restrooms need more attention than the employees give them, which is a managerial issue to be sure. They should definitely be checked more regularly. Another issue I've noticed here though, is that they never have enough help. There are long lines, and it seems they'd rather have customers self check-out rather than hire adequate staff. But, since this huge bulk store is close by, and the gas prices are good, I prefer this place over Costco or Sam's Club! read more

The very lowest end of wholesale clubs. Their store brand Berkley Jensen is the lowest end of low quality. The store is incredibly wasteful with printed paper coupons that you literally have to tear out of a book to use. Junky, very small stores with much less stock than either COSTCO or SAM's. NOT worth joining until they modernize, cut out the tacky coupons, and up the quality of goods. read more

I've been coming here since I relocated from fort bragg and while some staff is friendly, other staff will follow a person that looks like me around in self checkout. It happened again by someone that doesn't look like me who was barely doing her actual job. I use to come in this store often. after coming in one day and one of the people smelled like pee. Some of the people that work here are rude as hell. Front desk representatives are some of the nastiest I have ever seen in my life. They apparently don't care who they hire as long as it is a body. Deceptive advertising. Promised a 20 dollar gift card on sign up, never happened. Had an advertised price for an item expiring 3.5 weeks later. Raised the price 30 dollars two days later. Indicating they have the right to change even their advertised price. Their manager seems vindictive to the customer/consumer relationship. Why would you not honor the advertised price. This Club is poorly organized. I selected (picked up a cardboard sign) for a Dell laptop. Purchased the item and presented the cardboard sign and receipt at Customer Service. After 10 minutes of rooting around in the cage, the representative emerged to tell me that my item was out of stock. I fail to understand why their system allowed me to purchase an item that was not available. I had to make another purchase and checked the display. There were 7 cards displayed for a product that was not available. It would seem that if the store received 10 units, they would put 10 cardboard signs out. Clearly, their computer system and the physical stocking system is inadequate. Adding to my disappointment, as I was walking out I noticed that there were zero shopping carts available in the store. BJ's is great if you have to buy name brand items, or you just prefer to make your purchases in bulk. I have been a member here for a while and I can definitely tell you that it pays for itself after only two or three visits. Made a trip to this particular location recently since my freezer was running low on various prepared foods (I work late, so I don't always have time to cook something very involved). There was plenty of parking close to the entrance, so it made things a bit quicker that way. BJ's Wholesale, much like other stores of a similar nature, is a one-stop shop for everything, from toiletries to high-end cheeses, boxed wine to bulk apple juice. There is, however, a catch: not everything here is worth buying if you can get by with generics. After doing many comparisons, I have consistently found that buying small or bulk amounts of generics is almost always cheaper than buying bulk amounts of name brand products. As such, pick your purchases wisely if you're a penny-pincher like me. Anyway, here are some things you'll definitely want to check out here: 1) Beer. You can get bottles by the box, and it's far cheaper than any grocery store. If you want microbrew, you're SOL, though. 2) Cheese. They have an amazing variety of cheeses, and while they aren't all cheap, they are uniformly excellent and will do any cheese aficionado proud. 3) Beef. They have high quality patties at an affordable price, and bulk meat as well. While going to a butcher is still cheapest, this is nice for someone who wants a good amount of meat without having to purchase a separate freezer for it. 4) Drinks. Their selection of drinks is incredible, and you will find everything you're looking for here. The list goes on, though these are the most noteworthy, in my opinion. The only drawback of a place like this is the small number of employees available to help you. I needed to buy some soy milk for a friend and could not find the one associated with the coupon, and had to hunt down an employee to get one from the back for me. She was pleasant about it, though I wish they had "help" buttons in the store to request assistance without having to search for it. In short, this place is great for those who prefer to do all their shopping for months in one go and those who want name brands in bulk at a good price. I would definitely recommend you come by. Overall: 4.0 stars ----------------- Pros: - The varieties of items here are incredibly impressive. - Coupons can be helpful here, especially manufacturer's ones. - Lots of parking out front. - Membership is affordable, more so if you get a deal on it. Cons: - Finding help is a challenge, and there is no way of getting it without finding the employee yourself. - Some items are still too expensive in bulk. I've never had a membership to a wholesale club before, so I decided to take advantage of the 2 months free membership offer that BJ's was giving. On top of that, they were offering a year's membership at $40 instead of their usual $50. AND they have coupons! This place is amazing. I got here at 6:50pm and they close at 7:00 pm on Sunday. I was greeted warmly and with a smile. I was able to grab my essentials and those my time was short, the people were so nice. The printer of course has been great, however 6 weeks later I walked into BJ's and I saw where the price of the printer had dropped $25.00. I said something to them, and they looked up my information and to my much surprised, they paid me back in cash the difference. Since I am interested in buying bulk, I decided to take advantage of the free trial membership. They also offer coupons and accept manufacturers coupons , so its a win win. read more

For the most part, warehouse clubs are all pretty much alike. But what is nice about BJs is that the sizes in which you are required to buy things so not seem to be quite as large as other stores, which is great when there is only 2 of you at home. Plus, they take credit cards (key since I do not like using my debit card at store terminals due to hacking concerns). But the biggest reason of them all is that BJs parking lot is so much easier to deal with that Costco or Sam's! read more

I would like to update my review due to the fact the people that they have working there are either ignorant or just unprofessional liars. Ok so this the deal my husband and I are out and about we go to several businesses in the area and I decide to call BJ's to see if they had what I was looking for the female who was on the other end of the phone said yes so I immediately went over there 5 minutes tops. Go inside the store with another member. A waste of time and gas they had evidently lied to other people beside my husband and me. So my husband spoke to the door greeter on the way out about being lied too. Anyway, there were three people at the front door when we first walked in but funny how they disappeared by the time we came back to the door. As I was walking out one of the women said said something and my reply was before lying on the phone you need to make sure you have the product cause you're wasting people's time. Bjs apparently finds it ok to raise prices and expects it to go unnoticed by members. I've been purchasing the ten inch round birthday cakes for over 15 years. Recently the price was increased from $10.99 to $15.99. Yet they didn't increase the price of the sheet cakes. This isn't the only incident of over pricing I've noticed. The Deer Park 16oz bottles were 32 count then they added the 28 count for the same price. Being a frequent visitor I notice this happening quite often on products I purchase often. I hope BJs values its members to correct these issues. Right now I doubt I will renew my membership when if expires. I don't really buy a lot of things here as it is. But now it seems as if my selection has gotten even smaller. Today I was unable to find two products I normally purchase here, and the price of the soda we buy here went up almost $3 in price! We are only a household of two, so we normally just get a few things here a month. I don't buy pet food here either. I used to belong to BJ's in my previous home state, and have always had excellent experiences there. Enter: large, illogical brick wall - try not to slam into it. This location is terrible when it comes to customer service. If you need anything that involves common sense and doing right by the customer, search elsewhere - and quickly. Today, I wasted 4 hours of my time traveling to this location to address a return of a gift mailed to me. Of course I don't have a receipt - it was a gift. Of course the purchaser is not with me - it was mailed to me. Gift card? No, that does not suit me, as I need to replace the incorrect item, which you do not carry. The reason for not refunding the cost of the gift varied with both the passing of time and the tag-team of managers that rolled out in front of me. First it was the receipt. Then it was not having access to the original method of payment. Then it was because there was no telling when it was purchased. Fear not! This ends well...at another BJ's who understands that it takes actual independent thought and genuine care to achieve even passable customer service.
