Zabb chicken wings and the spicy sauce : 5/5 it's fried to perfectly and the zabb seasoning was delicious Dumplings: wow. Favors is similar to a Chinese dumplings. I would recommend this dish to try Crab fried rice: I'm actually surprised this taste good as it was seasoned well. In other restaurant it was blah but this taste good with the lychee duck curry. Lychee duck curry : the char the lychee and pineapple with the sauce. Wow. All the flavors blend so well. Highly recommend. Noodles : it has the flavor of the wok. We didn't finished the noodles but it was delicious. I think this noodle was a 4.5/5 as this was normal noodles nothing stood out except the flavor of the wok. The chicken was grilled perfectly. It was not packed but the background music was noisy. Service was good but it felt very uncomfortable, as the tables were closely placed we could touch our neighbor's elbow. The tom yum was tasty and huuuuge. Probably would be good to share! The restaurant is so loud, it was almost impossible to hear conversation at my table. Sadly my friend ordered a vegetarian curry and it ended up having several pieces of chicken in it. The manager came over and handled it well. The food is a combination of their interpretation of traditional Thai dishes and NY inspired Thai dishes. We ordered two main dishes, a branzino dish and a tofu dish. Nothing was particularly spicy, but it all tasted fine. We had to request a side of white rice. I asked about traditional condiments. They were not brought with the meal. Their Nam Pla Prik had an odd, but not unpleasant, flavor and included garlic. Afterward, we were full, but still ordered dessert. Excellent food but a bit pricey for what it is. The green veggie curry is $32, while at even the most expensive Thai restaurants (Fish Cheeks, etc) the green curry is around $20-22. The shrimp tom yum was $39. The green veggie curry was good though with fresh veggies. The everything. aggie spring roll was interesting but the sauce was not quite what we expected. The vegan papaya salad was well executed. Also, it's not like it's a fine dining experience. The service is good and the ambiance nice, but it doesn't justify the price. They still rush you out like typical thai restaurants and the layout could make you think you're at any of the 9th ave joints but are paying more than 50% extra. read more

First off, Cholly was awesome! So cute and friendly, with sparkling makeup and eyeshadow. She really set the mood. This is a Thai restaurant, serving some more traditional fair while also serving some Thai street food. I came for the street food for sure. I had the BKK hotdog, made with northern Thai herb sausage, a brioche hotdog bun, picked veggies, roasted green chili, garlic and shallot mayo. It was smoky, so seasoned, and spicy in the best way (not unpleasant or "hot."). Some other selections include: Papaya pok pok, crispy kale salad, Asian salad, pak-mor, everything spring roll, BKK lollipops. They also have things like the brisket sandwich dip, short rib massaman, yaowarat beef stew, lychee duck curry, crispy pork belly, and so much more. The menu boasts so many combos of tender or fried meat, delightful herbs, crunchy vegetables, fragrant curries. The menu is huge, yet thoughtful, and I can't wait to return to try more dishes. For drinks I had the fruit cart cooler, the tamarind tango, and the chaopraya to Hudson. All drinks boasted fruits/ingredients like charred grapefruit, butterfly pea soda, toasted rice, charred pineapple. Creative drinks with depth that accompany the menu perfectly. Came here on mother's Day without a reservation and the host was kind enough to sit my mom and I for an hour long visit. We both had pad Thai with prawns and this lovely dumpling appetizer that's pictured. The environment is nice and clean and warm a little romantic and the service was definitely professional. What to get: Mushroom Fried Rice ($26) - with tofu ($3) - absolutely delicious. Who said vegetarian food can't be flavorful? Pak-Mor ($18), BKK Lollipops ($16), and Papaya Pok Pok ($15) - all were great apps. Tom Yum Pla ($45) - is a big portion, and we ended up not finishing it. Cocktails: I had the pandan paradise, the strength of the alcohol is average but the sweetness of the pandan really helps to balance it out to create a nice and refreshing experience. My friends had the sticky situation and crust issues cocktails and they both seemed to really enjoy it. 5/5 Shrimp donut: I enjoyed the shrimp donut, it is exactly what it sounds like. But it is quite expensive at $18, would probably not get it again. 4.5/5 Pork belly: this was pretty average imo, the outside was definitely overcooked and slightly burnt and the pork belly itself wasn't that tender. I think the sauce helps to moisten the pork belly slices so I did somewhat enjoy the overall taste of the pork belly slices. 3.5/5 Short rib massaman: this was fantastic! Be warned, it is quite a large portion, even for me. They're quite generous with the amount of short rib they give. The curry itself was creamy and balanced, and the combination of the curry, rice, potatoes, and greens made for excellent bites beyond just the short rib. 5/5 The ambience inside is quite cozy. Came here on a Tuesday night to catch up with a friend. The reservation process was pretty easy. The restaurant was going a restaurant week menu but my friend wasn't too hungry and we opted for the à la carte menu. We ordered the spring rolls, chicken lollipops, papaya salad and a pad Thai. All were very tasty. The spring rolls sounded a bit of a strange fusion but it was actually very nice. The papaya salad was fiery but bearable and the pad Thai was also good. The food: - Wagyu Fried Rice (Spice Level 3): I usually have a high spice tolerance, but level 3 had me sweating, especially since it came out piping hot. Delicious, but be warned! Also a little tad too sweet for my liking. - Crab Fried Rice: Easily the highlight of the meal. Super generous chunks of jumbo lump crab, with a fried egg on top and a sauce that brought it all together. So good. - Shrimp Pad Thai: good but nothing special - Shrimp Donut: greasy and a bit fishy - Fried Whole Branzino: - Crispy Pork Belly: The only real miss. The skin was way too tough to chew. A few small cons: - All the plates were really sticky around the edges, which made it hard to move anything without getting your hands messy. -Their preset tip % is calculated based on the total, not the subtotal, which can be easy to miss since they just flash the reader in your face. This would be a great date night spot. The food was all very good and is the best I've had in NYC. The short rib massaman curry was the best I've had ever. The curry was complex with spices and less sweet which we enjoyed. The shrimp donut was cooked really well with a crisp outside and the ground shrimp inside had the perfect texture. And on top of the donut, they had shaved egg yolk. We tried the BKK hot dog and it was pretty good. I think the hot dog could have had a better ratio between the sausage and bun. Came here with my boyfriend for a celebratory dinner and had such a great experience. The interior had dim lighting and cute modern decor and great for a date night. Our waiter was incredibly nice and even brought out a complimentary celebratory drink. He also asked if we both drank alcohol, which was thoughtful--my boyfriend doesn't drink, so they offered him a non-alcoholic version instead. Really appreciated that they were attentive and accommodating. Wow! Truly was blow away by how amazing this place was! I saw it on inKind and it happened to be close to the theater we were seeing a show at. We got the papaya pok pok, shrimp donut, brisket sandwich dip, wagyu kra pow, BKK hot dog, kao pad pu, goong koe rae, and branzino. My family met up with a childhood friend and her family for dinner one of our evenings in the city. They live in Brooklyn and said this spot was great and we'd love the variety, so we made a reservation and headed out. Her kids are much younger than mine, but we all found things we liked and things we had never tried before. The adults had cocktails that did not disappoint and everything from appetizers to mains were presented spectacularly and were pretty magnificent. It was quite the experience from start to finish and I can't say that I have ever eaten anywhere quite like BKK. It was a cool and moody vibe and we had a rectangular table in the back right corner. Not to be confused with the similarly named Thai BBK in Harlem, this is apparently a new Thai place from the same owners as Chu Ros but I would say the food here is leagues better. They have a mix of somewhat traditional Thai dishes along with some modern dishes inspired by New York with many dishes having a fun twist. The inside is modern looking with slightly dim lights and apparently, it replaced a Japanese sushi place that had been there a long time. Service was friendly and prompt with most dishes with our meal taking a bit over an hour with this being expected for Thai spots. For spicier food, dishes are ordered on the scale of 1 to 5 for spice level and we went with four and the four was a good bit of heat closer to a spicy at more basic Thai spots and would be good level for a moderate chili head. The drink menu is pretty eclectic with the cocktails being all $18. I had the New York Cha Yen with scotch whiskey, black tea, turbinado lemon, spring flower, Singha air foam, soda, and bitters which was different but tasty. The foam on top had said beer flavor associated with said Singha while the drink below tasted like a slightly sweetened black tea with a hint of alcohol though I couldn't exactly tell it was Scotch. It was good though I would probably try the more unique sounding Sticky Rice cocktail next time having only had seen similar at Double Chicken Please before. Two of the other people enjoyed the Pandan Paradise with white and dark rum, roasted pineapple, pandan, coconut water, pineapple Thai coconut cream, and lime saying it wasn't too sweet and that it had a good pandan flavor. The only appetizer we got was the Shrimp Donut for $18 with shrimp and chicken in a donut shape served with salted egg yolk mayo. This arrived with three pretty large pieces as well as a sauce on the side which I believe was described as a plum sauce which was slightly sweet. The donuts had a chew to them presumably from the plump shrimp and reminded another person in terms of texture and at the table of an oversized shumai which I agreed with. These were tasty and unique though I wish the salted egg flavor was stronger and didn't just have a nice presentation. The Wagyu Kra Pow for $32 with a wagyu patty, butter, garlic, Thai chili, Thai basil, and jasmine rice in a hot stone was the most unique main dish of the night. The beef on top is flattened and mixed with the rice at the table and was a fun spin on the usual ground pork found in this dish and had a similar texture to a Hamburg steak with a bit of crisp on the outside and some juiciness inside while the rice was good though I would say that the holy basil flavor is a little bit light. The texture of the rice was excellent especially when mixed with the crispy parts on the bottom along with the crispy parts of the steak. This was both excellent and a fun spin and I would recommend. The Kee Mao Brisket for $26 with with broad noodle, Thai chili, peppercorn, egg, Thai basil, fingerroot, garlic, and tomato was very tasty. The dish was spicy as requested with a very good noodle texture compared to most places. The brisket was unique with a slight chew and worked with the noodles though I prefer some other meats though there was a decent amount of meat (I think 12 or so thin pieces or similar.) This was overall solid and comparable to the better places a few avenues over in Hell's with a unique topping and I would recommend as well. Most traditional (and from the Chinese-Thai) was the Kao Moo Deng Moo Krob for $24 with homemade roasted pork shoulder and crispy pork belly over jasmine rice. This came with a slightly sweet red sauce to go with said dish along with a couple slices of cucumber. The best part was easily the crispy pork belly which was cooked perfectly and I wish there was more of those pieces by comparison. The roasted pork shoulder/red pork was less fatty than someone at the table would have liked but I tend to find that the Thai version is much less fatty my comparison to the Canto version so this was expected. This was good but I preferred other dishes though I've never been personally the biggest fan of this dish in general. The food overall was unique and tasty and better than the other Thai places in the local surrounding area with some unique dishes, good flavors, and portions justifying the price point. I do think they would do a bit better a few avenues over on 9th but I hope they get business as they deserve it. Mid 4. Would go back. read more

As someone who's usually not the biggest fan of Thai food, I really loved our meal at BKK! To start, the Chaopraya to Hudson cocktail was phenomenal- and I typically don't go for gin-based cocktails. To eat, the everything spring rolls are a must - don't get me started on that incredible dipping sauce! I also really loved the KAENG KEAW WAAN JAY (vegetarian green curry with tofu and veggies) and the Mushroom Fried Rice. There are a decent amount of vegetarian options which I appreciated and I was surprised how much I enjoyed everything. And while the curry sauce is really good, this dish was not life-altering. If you are indifferent to prawns, I suggest picking something more complex! TLDR: New Thai spot near Columbus Circle. Creative/modern menu along with more classic dishes too. Mama Tom Yum, Moo Ping, Yum Moo Ding, BKK Hot Dog. There are so many Thai places opening recently but it's hard to find ones that actually seem a bit different. BKK's menu caught my eye with some creative modern dishes I liked. The Moo Ping were these incredibly tender pork skewers with jaew sauce. The Yum Moo Ding reminded me of a Thai salad but with warm pork belly almost like a Korean bossam. The Mama Tom Yum was a super elevated version of a Thai street noodle. Wavy noodles, wok-charred shrimp, pork and mushrooms. An egg yolk for some added richness, nice tangy spice. The BKK Hot Dog they swapped your traditional frankfurter with a Chiang Mai style sausage. The fries were seasoned well but they included almost chive pancake fries or giu chai tod. Very clever. The wagyu krapao was also super interesting. Think a Japanese hambaggu patty, on top of a khao pad krapao or Thai basil fried rice - inside of a Korean stone bowl. You get that end texture that reminds you of Cantonese clay pot rice. Overall - we really enjoyed everything and will definitely be coming back. Great food and drinks! The dirty BKK martini was excellent! For food we ordered a few appetizers and entrees. The standout for me was the shrimp donuts and the Larb Pla. Both very good dishes. I came to BKK New York on a weekday for dinner before a show with a party of 4. We had a reservation which was nice since we got seated right away and the place did get busier as we were heading out (better to be safe when you already have a commitment after!) although I'm sure it's walk-in friendly. The place is very cute and has a modern/ sleek/ dimly lit vibe. We were seated in a booth near the bar which was spacious and comfortable. Our waitress was very kind and walked us basically through the whole menu while offering her own recommendations. The drink menu looked amazing but we opted to get some beers that came cold and were refreshing. They recommended sharing food so we got a few apps to split and then we each got our own entree. For food I tried: - shrimp donuts: delicious app! Perfectly crispy on the outside while being fluffy and airy on the inside. The inside was almost soufflé like and the savory flavors of shrimp and pork predominated. The sweet syrup gave them a super nice balance. Very addictive. - curry puffs: these were okay, I'd probably skip next time. Sweet curry filled puff pastries. The pastry itself was not as crispy as I hoped and the filling was too potato heavy. Curry flavor was amazing though. - Chicken pad see ew: generous portion of deliciously tender and flavorful chicken! I've never had a pad see ew with a more generous protein portion and I am all for it. The noodles were perfectly chewy and the dish had the right amount of sauce and veggies. Super good! - mango sticky rice: a classic. As always, amazing. Warm rice, mildly sweet, and with perfectly ripened mango. One of my favorite desserts and they made it very well! - pandan sundae: very unique and delicious! The pandan ice cream was so delicious and not too sweet. The creamy whipped cream added a little bit of extra sweetness. It had pieces of coconut jelly (?) at the bottom which added a nice chewy texture. Really enjoyed it! Overall, I thought the food was very good and really love how this is a nice, yet more affordable place in the area. My only comment would be that the service felt a little overbearing a times and I got the impression we were being rushed out which always rubs me off the wrong way. However, their dishes were delicious and well executed so i definitely want to return to try more, especially their fusion street food. Highly recommend before a show! read more

Wow! This place has it all, and it's amazing that it's across the street from us. We're going to be here all the time. Tonight was opening night to the public I believe and we had quite the feast. The space is lively and fun, though not on the busiest street, and the service is next level. Gideon was our fave and really treated us so well! The Chef was there and we talked to him, and best of all the bartenders who made some of the most stellar drinks. So the cocktails, everything from a milk punch that tasted like pizza to a really cool set of thai tasting drinks (they have a cool Pandan one) to modern takes on a manhattan (siamhattan) and martini (bkk dirty). You've got to try these drinks! We had 4 each...not kidding!!! The food also stellar, some of it is just good, but other dishes are literally mind blowing! The everything spring roll was good, but not so cool. The chicken skins on the other hand very very interesting and quite good. The real winner was the Brisket sandwich with thai chili mayo, american cheese, and a spicy thai beef au jus. This is one of my favorite bites of 2025 - like WOW! The sandwich was so good and far beat out the Wagyu fried rice. The hot dog was overhyped, but that chili mayo certainly made it better, and it wasn't a bad hot dog, just there's so much on the menu that you really want and can't have!!!! Gideon was just so personable and talked to our table for quite a bit. I loved him and everyone on staff. We will be back many many more times! Enjoyed a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant that expertly blends American and Thai cuisines. The mixed cultural menu offers creative fusion dishes that successfully combine flavors from both traditions. The Tastes were so delicious. We had many dishes but the My best hi-light was "HOR MOK"- the curry custard with the plenty of crab meat it was serve hot until the last bite. Recommend try this new way to serve this dishes. Variety Drinks options were made with their own logo and an amazing designs with the very beautiful presentation. The food, the staff, the vibe -- everything was just wow. Easily a 10/10 dining experience. Highly recommended! They have up the thai food game in the neighbourhood !! Can't wait to come back!! read more
