These $5 trash tacos made me want to move back to the west coast. This place was pretty good 5 years ago but those days are gone.

Hands down, my favorite burrito in Brooklyn. I go for the camarones burrito, which is A++ Sure, might seem a lil pricey... but considering it already includes what many places charge for "add-ons", it's pretty average for NY. It's sure as hell not just a bunch of beans and rice. I am no burrito expert. I am from the East Coast. I have no idea if they're "authentic", "better than LA/Mexico/Texas", or "just like moms". But it's freaking delicious. But!!!! If you're listening BB!! PLEASE add the club soda Jarritas, OR at the very least, some bottles of water. All your beverages are either sugary or alcoholic. read more

Straightforward, consistently good food at a nice value. The salsas here are great- recently i've gotten a habanero mango, a chipotle and a verde, all great. A to-go burrito also came with chips which was a nice surprise. Good stuff read more

First and last time. Ordered pickup through Grubhub. First time eating there- usually go to Bushwick Taco but they were closed. I ordered a grilled chicken burrito and chips (no salsa). I arrived and stood on line behind a guy who was at the register. The man behind the counter said I'll be right with you. I told him no problem it's a pick up order take your time. When I got to the counter I gave him my name and he found my burrito but the order hadn't been fully put together yet. Again, I didn't mind that it wasn't ready even though it was past the time GrubHub said it would be ready (There were other people in the restaurant who look like they had been waiting for a while and had annoyed faces - so expect long wait time if you order in the restaurant). Anyway he bags my food up and hands it to me and says just so you know pick up orders should be done at that window (with a slight attitude). So I say I'm sorry this is my first time here I didn't realize there was a pick up window. He says something along the lines like it's fine or something like that but this time the attitude was even stronger. I'm legitimately standing there like wait I'm a first time customer and I had a tip added for a pick up order and you're annoyed with me because I didn't notice the window? I decided to let it go as I was starving and I just figured he was having a bad day. This is when I got annoyed. I get home and I start eating the food and it's not good. The chicken has like this weird taste - I can't explain it. It's kind of like a burnt taste combine with a bitter taste. I moved to the chips, and the chips are stale as hell and they have this weird bitter taste to them too. I don't know what they're using to cook with, if it's the oil or the seasoning, but there's like a weird bitter taste and it's not good. I don't know how this place has four stars. I can only assume the people who enjoy it have limited experience when it comes to food or are wasted when they eat it, bc nothing I tasted was good. It's not cheap either, so combining that with really slow and rude service = NO FOR ME . read more

Two words: watery burrito. I got a burrito and when I tried to hold and eat it, the flour wrap began to fall apart due to how wet it was. It didn't make for a pleasant experience. It wasn't a good burrito and, normally, when you're really hungry anything tastes good but, oof, this burrito completely missed the mark. Best burrito I've had in Brooklyn and we've tried a bunch of delivery places around Clinton Hill, Bed-Stuy, Fort Greene, and Prospect Heights. The burritos are pricy but it's Brooklyn so I donno, I guess I'm just desensitized to that haha. Plus, I *always* get two meals out of it (though my boyfriend can eat the whole thing in one sitting haha). My faaaave is the Mission Burrito with picadillo beef (a seasoned ground beef with potatoes that is so very tasty). It comes with rice, cheese, pico, avocado, and crema. Your choice of beans (I go pinto refried for this one). It's just soooo good. The rice and cheese is so good and you can actually taste the flavor of the cheese. The avocados are always creamy and fresh. And the meat is super flavorful! I've also had the shrimp Mission Burrito because they ran out of picadillo beef (and the girl who called to inform me was SOOOO nice and apologetic about it) and it was some of the best-cooked shrimp I've had in ages. Plump and sweet and still juicy, not dried out or crumbly or rubbery. With the shrimp, I recommend going with the chorizo beans cus the sweetness of the shrimp and the chorizo flavor goes really well together and balances out nicely. I actually find myself craving their burritos and, recently during the holiday, was going to order only to find that they were closed (understandably because it's the week between Christmas-New Year). So I went and ordered some *other* burrito and it was SOOO sad and I remembered all over again how good and delicious and well-proportioned and fresh the burritos are at B'klyn Burro. PS: Their delivery is fast, too! And they always include some containers of their salsas (my fave is the dark red, smoky salsa. My boyfriend's fave is the light red spicy salsa. May be my favorite burrito in NYC. It's very dangerous to live 5 mins away from this place. I love their carnitas and order them nearly every time, but they also just started doing a great breakfast- I stopped in the other morning for a delicious breakfast burrito (chorizo, egg, and potato) and Mexican coffee. The staff couldn't be nicer, and it's obvious they put a lot of love into their food. It always makes me happy to stop by B'klyn Burro. read more

The best burrito spot I've been to in a while. I order pickup and they are fast and keep food warm. They also throw in free chips and salsa which are also amazing. Have I discovered the best burrito in Brooklyn? That's a big statement. There's lots of burritos I've yet to try, but this one is pretty damn good and reminds me of ones I've had on the west coast. I first made a trip to B'klyn Burro over the summer when looking for a spot to get some quick Mexican. We had some yummy tacos and sat out back in their nice backyard. Sadly they didn't have their liquor license at that time. I've returned since and while it's a bit too chilly to sit out back, they got that liquor license. They have typical beers you'd see, I personally love Victoria. I don't like Corona but they do have a 32 ounce they sell. Now to what inspired me to write a review, those burritos. I've eaten lots of NYC Mexican food, and it gets talked bad about. Mostly from Cali heads. And while it's better out there, there are places that can hold their own out here. B'klyn Burro furthers that point with these deliciously made, perfectly cooked, and flavorful burritos. No bad wrap here! Make sure you come here to try some great burritos. The place is always packed so i decided to go in and grab some food on my way home. The place was small but super cute. The people that work there are friendly and welcoming. Now to the food. I ordered a quesadilla mission. It had so much flavor--I devoured it so quickly. Should have bought two!! It came with some chips and four different kinds of dips. delicious. I got a carnitas burrito, and while it wasn't bad, I didn't find it worthy of the hype this place has gotten -- it was dry-ish, with just an okay tortilla. The sauces that are available on the side definitely helped, but not enough to make me really excited to go back. We used to love their burritos. Used to order them weekly. Recently they seem incapable of getting a simple order right. It's been happening a lot. Pico added when "no pico" is requested in caps. Guacamole sent without chips. Chips sent without guacamole. Tonight they put spicy guacamole in my kids burrito making it inedible for her. I have a rule: never eat again at a place where the food makes your kid cry. These guys are a mess. Came here for a casual dinner with my brother and was impressed by the decor of this place and the ambience (paintings on the wall was so neat) I got the chicken bowl, which came with rice, beans, sour cream and avocado. All ingredients were fresh and flavorful. I was most impressed by their salsa collection, the green avocado salsa was so good!!! They gave us some chips to have along with their salsa which you can help yourself to. Also I loved how friendly and attentive the service was! A great taco place with a different presentation. I'm used to traditional tacos I find in crown heights that try to stay true to Mexico City but the 3 Picadillo beef tacos had a little kick with some spice and served with generous slices of avocado unlike other places that skimp. Comes wrapped churro style which I thought was creative since the fillings always fall out in soft tacos. I'd come back to try their other items on the menu. read more

I love this place! It's my third time going and I went on cinco de mayo. It was great they gave out free churros and they were delicious and the steak burrito I got was mouth watering. Terrible service that ruined my appetite! The owner was extremely hostile and instead of explaining how things were done just gave us attitude about our orders. This guy was so rude and had no reason to be. I made a point to only say thank you to the woman who was cooking and the guy flipped out and yelled out you're welcome as we walked out. I went to them a few times when they were in Don Pedro and they were so nice. I'm sure they have to deal with a lot of demanding customers but there was absolutely no reason to be so aggressive. Incredibly delicious, fresh, authentic Mexican food. Easily the best I've had on the East coast, maybe ever. Gorgeous mural greets you at the door, friendly owner Pepe drives you to the best shrimp tacos, and the backyard garden shines with laid back comfort. Plus it's puppy friendly. So one of the knocks on Yelp is that only people with strongly good/bad experiences write reviews. That could be true. This is my first Yelp review and I have just eaten the worst burrito of my life. Honestly terrible. I keep falling for signs advertising "Mission" style Mexican food or "San Francisco" style Mexican food, only to be deeply disappointed, because I grew up in San Francisco, and nobody lives up to their claim. That's my fault I guess. I've come to the conclusion that Mexican joints shouldn't be trying to be someone else. They should just be. The food wasn't bad. My steak quesadilla was very tasty. It just shouldn't have cost me $11.00. When I saw how small my order was I wanted to give it back. I felt ripped off. My curiosity to try it, and hesitation to go somewhere else won me over. With my $11 mini quesadilla I got a small bag of lightly salted chips and 3 tiny cups for their salsa station. For my $11 I am willing to forego the small portions of complimentary chips and sauces if it meant getting a healthier portion of quesadilla, which is what I was craving in the first place. Not Mexican garnishes. Closing at 10 kinda sucks too. I'm still hungry. Do I really need to spend $20 for their larger quesadilla? Nobody should. You don't go to Mexican for a diet cleanse or eco-spiritual awakening. read more

It didn't seem that fresh to me, but I'm down to try it again, and eat at the shop. Burrito: pollo asado, black beans, rice, cheese, sour cream (I think), pico de gallo & I think lettuce. I don't go to San Francisco looking for New York pizza, so I wasn't chasing the San Francisco burrito experience when I came to B'klyn Burro. However, when you have the Golden Gate Bridge on your storefront, you're asking for a comparison. We ordered a burrito and quesadilla. The amount of meat in my quesadilla was almost non existent. What an incredible ripoff and also an insult. The burrito's meat to rice ratio was embarrassing. The chips and salsa were a joke, for I have never in my life seen a smaller amount. You couldn't even fit a chip into the containers to. What is wrong with this place, seriously? read more
