I come here quite a few times for happy hour. It's a quaint little spot on Fulton. Maybe 6 stools at the bar located to the left Seating to the right, a mix of five or six 4 tops, open kitchen in the back. The service is excellent. If they are familiar with you it's a mix of banter, sarcasm and jokes. The margaritas are strong and delicious. All the flavors taste authentic and they squeeze real limes for the lime juice. As you should! My favorite flavors are the tamarind and the coconut. But I've tried them all and you can't go wrong whichever you choose. For happy hour they are $8 and that's a total deal for what you get. My favorite thing is the shrimp. They serve it in portions of 5 or 7. They are grilled and delicious. They have a natural sweetness to them, paired with that real grill flavor, delicious. $2 a piece can't be beat. The quesadillas are good too and they automatically come with guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream and lettuce. The tacos are solid but I have had better. You can skip the calamari. Let me just say that I've had Xochitl's number in my phone for years because we've ordered it so many times! The restaurant is always lovely, with lots of fun tiling and decorations to look at. Service is efficient and courteous, although they are usually pretty busy! My go-to order is either the avocado tostadas or pescado taco combo depending on my mood, and both are delicious. My partner goes for the chicken mole burrito or tofu burrito, and they also never miss. Overall we really like it here and will go back whenever we're in the area. read more

Another awesome burrito spot in Clinton Hill! The burritos are stuffed yet carefully assembled, and the guac and margs always hit. Everyone I've taken to Xochitl has loved it and wanted to come back. Staff is very friendly and there are always regulars inside chatting away and creating a very communal vibe. I get the Franklyn burrito with corn, but there really are endless burrito options, plus tons of non-burrito options. Indoors is cute, with some TVs and ample seating and decoration. This is my go to order spot for delivery and take out. On my most recent order I got the chicken fajitas, chicken tacos, ground beef San Jose tacos and the rosarito surf and turf. I've also ordered the mole enchiladas, shrimp tacos and chips and guacamole. The food typically comes within 40-50 minutes and is always packed well and piping hot. They typically provide pico, guacamole and hot sauce containers. The San Jose tacos are hard and sone the traditional way where the tortilla is fried in oil and curved to fit the fillings. It's my favorite type of hard shell. The meat was a little over salted for me but the flavors were great. The surf and turf comes with shrimp and steak and I ordered corn tortillas to make additional tacos. The shrimp and steak were delicious. I also like that they cooked the steak medium well so it would dry out if I reheated it. The fajitas had a solid amount of juice and a ton of stir fried veggies. The seasoning was perfect, and the rice and beans complimented both dishes really well. Definitely recommend for lunch or dinner. read more

My friend and I sat to have a drink and a meal and not even 2 minutes after we've been sat our server demands our drink order. We tell him just another minute since we've literally just sat. People don't like being rushed to order and even though there were maybe 1 or 2 other customers in the restaurant it seemed like they just wanted us to order, eat, leave at a fast food service pace. Both of the servers running the place had airpods in 1 ear so they couldn't really understand us when we were putting in food orders so we had to repeat ourselves They kept coming by to see if we wanted more drinks to order but not once asked about how the food was (they didn't care, they are probably listening to a goddamn podcast) Ya so hire better help and maybe this place can be the next spot for 2024 read more

I can eat Mexican food, anytime, any day. But I also get "stuck" eating from the same spots, which I shouldn't do, because New York has so much to offer! I read the reviews and checked this place out. I ordered enough for three people, as always. The fish taco was good; it's fried and has two corn tortillas, yet still manages to be moist and is bursting with flavor. I came for the burrito though, and was not disappointed. The chicken Franklyn burrito was flavorful, filling, and a decent size - as all burritos should be. Delivery does take 40-50 minutes, but they tell you that when you're ordering so I wasn't surprised. Finally, because my past self always looks out for my future self, I got a side of chips and guacamole, which for the price, was pretty big (and tasty)! I really wanted to like this spot as it's close to a friend's place and seemed authentic. However, between the poor service, just ok food and abysmal drinks it is a flat NO from me. It was a cold, windy, rainy day when my friend and I went so it was slow and chill therefore I expected a good experience. To start, it was freezing inside, our waitress was disinterested and when I asked a question she seemed bothered. We each ordered taco combos and the house margarita. The margaritas were hands down the worst either of us have ever had. They were a lagoon color that we couldn't figure out where it originated from and every sip was worse than the previous one. The tacos were ok but overall bland in flavor. At some Point our waitress stopped coming over and the bartender/host was the one tending to our table always muttering something we couldn't make out. It was clear we had not taken more than 3 sips from our drinks and he just asked if we wanted them to go, at which point we said no and the next logical question should've been to ask if something was wrong/how it could be fixed but he just went on his way and brought us our check. The best burrito I've ever had in NYC. I don't know how good anything else is here but the the Xochitl Burrito is bomb.com. I've already made plans to come back to have it again. Let's review. I was in the neighborhood and my son and I wanted Mexican food so of course I yelped and this had some controversial reviews but to be honest the guy who said a burrito was "life changing" sealed the decision for me. The place itself is cute. There was only one other table occupied with about 10-15 people. Looking over the menu there was several things I wanted to try but saw a burrito in the yelp reviews that I asked the server about and he said it's their most popular burrito. The Xochitl burrito. It has steak, pork, pico de gallo, beans, cheese and some other sauce that was like a hot salsa. The flavor of this burrito is mouthwatering. The pork is slow cooked so it's super tender and they don't skimp on meat. I'm a sauce person, sauce makes me happy and this burrito was saucy and delicious. My son had crispy tacos (one chicken and one ground beef) and he gobbled them down which means he like them. The tacos are a little bigger than what you normally see and they are stuffed full. They also fry their own shells which is a plus. We also had horchata and French fries. Both were good. The gentleman that served us wasn't immediately warm but I can be annoyingly bubbly when people are that way and they usually warm up as he did. This place was a pleasant surprise. read more

The quality of the tacos recently became much worse. They used to be quite flavorful but now they lack flavor and don't feel representative of what one would expect from an authentic taqueria. The chicken tastes baked without spices or marination, as did the carne asada. Given that there was only onions and cilantro on the tacos, this is a shame as it used to be so good. One thing that consistently delivers are their Guac and chips. They make the chips themselves and it shows. They are awesome when they are hot! I wish the taco quality would return.
